A lovely comfortable and well equipped cottage in a great area.

Owners were very helpful and supplied a nice welcome package. The views from the viewing platform in the evenings were lovely. Altogether a great holiday!

A super property, within easy reach of the lovely beaches of Nefyn, Whistling Sands, the castles of Criccieth and Harlech and just a shortish drive into Eryri National Park - perfectly placed to explore the Llyn Peninsula.

Ysgybor Yd is well maintained and exceptionally clean. It has everything needed for a comfortable stay - the welcome pack was much appreciated!! This stay was a last minute short break - and what a find!! Thank you to our hosts, Andrea and Colin. We really hope we'll see you soon for a longer stay!

Fab cottage, lovely and clean.

Andrea the host was great and very helpful, welcome basket was really appreciated. Gorgeous views over the sea and easy reach for Cricceth and Porthmadog and other lovely bays nearby. The only one very small negative was the bed in the main bedroom. A king size or super king would have been better and a better mattress. But this would have just been the cherry on a lovely cake. Would highly recommend the cottage and we will definitely be back.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The position gave us access to lots of things to do.

We had a briĺliant winter break at Ysgubor Yd.

Having stayed next door in Y Stabl 10 years ago, we knew that the cottage would be comfortable and spotlessly clean. We were also familiar with the area and knew where to find good walks and things to do, even in the winter, and we were delighted that the weather turned out to be drier than expected! Our youngeet son and his girlfiend had a splendid week together, filling their days with outdoor adventure. The only slight quibble, if we were really picky, would be that the kitchen is on the small side for storing food and cooking for more than two. Six might be quite a challenge,unles people eat out all the time! We enjoyed meeting Colin and Andrea once again, and would thoroughly recommend the area as a useful centre to explore the northern Llyn Peninsula. Thank you!

We had a fantastic stay at Ysgybor Yd, the owner welcomed us and the house was spotlessly clean.

We appreciated the groceries made available to us and the EV charger was really handy.

This was a lovely place to stay, comfortable, well appointed and conveniently situated for exploring N Wales.

The owners are very nice, made us very welcome and ensured we had all we needed. I would be very happy to stay there again and can thoroughly recommend it.

This is our second visit to Ysgybor Yd and as before we find it difficult to find fault.

The owners were very friendly and helpful and the welcome pack was excellent. The one thing which will help us as we age would be one or two grab handles in the shower.

This is a beautiful holiday cottage, superbly clean and very well equipped.

The icing on the cake is a viewing platform, the other side of the parking area, with the most superb views over land and sea: A place to sit, relax and absorb the sights all around. Highly recommended.

This is a great property for a family holiday.

Wonderfully situated in the countryside. The enclosed garden is perfect for small children to play in and it's decked area is ideal for eating al fresco. The property is very comfortable and clean and has everything that you need. The owners live close by and are very friendly, helpful and available for advice, if necessary. This is our second visit. We cannot fault the property on its location and views.

There was nothing lacking in the accommodation or with the provisions in the fridge - a nice touch. The owners were very pleasant and helpful, but everything was in place so we didn’t need to bother them. We have now booked to go back again in the future.

The best holiday property I've stayed in.

Exceptionally clean and well supplied. Pleasantly quiet surroundings with good views. They run a tight ship and it was well appreciated.

This cottage is truly amazing it has everything you need for your stay including a brilliant welcome pack from the owners for your basic food needs inc bread butter coffee tea orange juice milk eggs wine and Welsh cakes.

The owners are very friendly and welcoming. This is our second time here and are booking for next year too. The only one small gripe is that there is no dishwasher, but that’s not really a problem. An awsum property and fantastic holiday. Thanks.

It has wonderful views, which change with the weather, and is well located for exploring Wales. A spotlessly clean, cosy and tastefully decorated property. The accessible shower made washing the little one even easier than at home. There was plenty of space for the kids to enjoy playing together, as well as find their own space. We arrived during a bank holiday weekend, so appreciated the very thoughtful welcome pack. The kitchen was well equipped (we cooked a roast dinner). For us, the facility to charge our electric car at the property was a huge plus.

As I am disabled we chose Ysgubor Yd because it had a downstairs bedroom and shower room.

It did not disappoint. The Cottage is clean and comfortable with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break. We shall certainly be recommending this lovely place to our friends and hope to return next year.

What a wonderful place!

Everything was perfect. The cottage was absolutely spotless! It had so many thoughtful touches, everything from extra blankets on the settees to ice in the freezer! The welcome pack was wonderful too! You can tell how much thought and care has gone into the place. Great location, lots of places to visit nearby. Would love to go back again

Lovely cottage.

Very comfortable and clean. Very pleasant owners and nice they were nearby. Charging point for an EV a real boon. The no pets rule was another advantage as far as we were concerned. A dishwasher would have been a plus if there had been more than just the two of us maybe. More lighting in the kitchen and TV area would be an improvement on these darker evenings. Overall such a nice property. Thank you for all your hard work and we hope to return some time in the warmer months of 2024.

This is surely the most stunning holiday let ever. Every conceivable convenience is supplied, even down to a loverly welcome pack of basic food requirement’s. Mr and Mrs Widdecombe are loverly people who can’t do enough for you. The only one thing missing is maybe a dishwasher but in no way is that a negative point. We had an amazing stay at Ysgybor Yd.

The cottage is cute, comfy and cosy. It had everything we needed and the view from our home was spectacular. Mr & Mrs Widdecombe went out of their way to make our holiday really enjoyable. A wonderful Holiday was had by our Family, enhanced by Farm Cottage being 5star for cleanliness, comfort & sheer breath taking views & scenery.

The Welcome pack was thoughtful, tasty & much appreciated!! Our 3 generation Family enjoyed all Home comforts throughout our stay. The driveway was a tad bumpy but all else was ideal. Thankyou Mr.& Mrs Widdecombe for a memorable fun packed Holiday to be repeated again for sure

A beautiful and well-kept cottage in a great location to either relax in the peaceful Welsh countryside surrounded by stunning sea views or use as a base for exploring a whole host of nearby attractions at Criccieth, Porthmadog, Caernarfon and more.

The cottage has so much character and space and the warm welcome from the owners went above and beyond.

Very generous welcome pack of goodies and warm and informative welcome from Andrea. The cottage is in a perfect location for exploring the area. This is a very unspoiled, less 'commercial' part of North Wales which was perfect for us. Would recommend.

As a disabled customer I would suggest handrails be fitted in the shower and possibly a portable shower chair, also as and when a new toilet needs to be fitted, a higher one would be best.

Ysgybor Yd, is a beautifully restored barn.

The owners attention to detail is second to none. We were welcomed warmly and a lovely bundle of goodies and essentials were waiting for us. The place was spotless. Plenty of space for 4 adults & 2 children. The location is great for exploring too. We will definitely be revisiting and with friends and will look at the sister cottage next door too. Booking and communication was excellent.

Lovely cottage very clean and comfortable quiet and peaceful.

Hosts very helpful and pleasant. Only thing mattresses could do with toppers on them to improve comfort and maybe a portable stool in adapted shower would have helped my husband. But we are very happy with Sykes cottages and will definitely use you again.

I felt the only thing lacking was a hair dryer.

We had a very enjoyable the at the cottage, it truly was a home front home.

Lots of little touches from the owner made for a very comfortable stay. The beds were super comfy and we enjoyed lots of restful sleep. We would certainty highly recommend the cottage.

The corn barn had been beautifully restored.

There was a lovely view from the cottage over the fields to the sea. The “bits and pieces” (tea, coffee, milk etc) that the owner left for us were much appreciated.

Absolutely fantastic cottage in a beautiful location with amazing views all around.

Perfect for anyone who wants a break from a busy lifestyle in a peaceful location with everything you could need already in the cottage. We have never stayed somewhere where the hosts have thought of everything you would need in the accommodation and included it. Bedding, tea towels, towels, toilet roll and there was even tea, coffee, sugar, milk and locally sourced eggs. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very spacious with lovely hosts to match. We have already recommended to family members and will definitely stay again in the future. Thank you for an amazing break.

A beautiful cottage.

Well equipped, well furnished, comfortable and clean. There is a large enclosed garden at the back of the cottage. Much bigger inside than the photos show. The owners left us a welcome pack of bread, milk, wine, coffee, tea and welsh cakes which were definitely welcome after a long drive. Lots of lovely beaches within a 10 mile drive.

Ysgybor Yd has to be one of the best kept secrets we have have ever uncovered.

It is an extremely clean and well thought out cottage with some great touches from the hosts. the arrival package was most welcome and really appreciated after a long drive. It is spacious and very deceptive with it looking quite compact from the outside - it is not! The master bedroom is one of the largest we have stayed in and having two bathrooms is great when travelling as a group or family. The hosts are attentive without being intrusive, thank you for a great stay, we wouldnt hesitate to recommend Ysgybor Yd

We had a fantastic week staying here.

The house is even more lovely than it looks in the photos, and very spacious too the main bedroom is enormous. It's beautifully maintained and so clean it seems brand new. We stayed with a toddler and the owners were great at providing everything we needed for him. The garden is perfect for children, spacious but enclosed. Our son loved seeing the sheep every day opposite the barn. So much to do in the area, a brilliant place for a family holiday.

A beautiful cottage in a wonderful location.

The cottage had everything you could need and more, for example an unexpected welcome pack with bread, milk, coffee, tea, butter, Welsh cakes ad wine. The owners even provided items such as salt, pepper, washing up liquid and cloths and lots of other little items that you usually have to remember to take with you. A perfect base to visit North Wales, or simply sit on the patio with a glass of wine and admire the sea view.

We were left coffee, tea, milk, marmalade - even a bottle of wine! The owners were friendly and helpful. On the night before we left there was heavy snowfall and they offered us to stay another night. Very thoughtful.

When we arrived we were delighted to find it looked amazing!

This cottage was definitely one of the best I've stayed in.

It's beautifully converted, and just right - many cottages are too fussy, or too crammed with odds and sods, but this has everything you need in its place, and no more. The welcome package of food was extremely thoughtful. I know North Wales well, and usually stay further into the mountains, but this time I went with my daughter and her friend who aren't into walking! They were also extremely happy with the cottage, and I must say the Wi-Fi works well, which is essential for 2 18 year olds. Porthmadog is well placed for a range of entertainments, and we were near enough; the actual location of the cottage is excellent, with views both of the sea and the hills. For those into beaches, there is a truly fantastic one at Morfa Bychan (Black Rock Sands.) Mr. Widdicombe is a very welcoming owner, and showed me the other cottage, which is equally impressive. I couldn't recommend this cottage any more highly.
