Hendre Aled Cottage 3

This property located at the end of a farm track is more suitable for guests who can bring towels, shampoo, a hair dryer etc with them than the folk travelling light out of carry on packs.

If I had read the small print more carefully I would have gathered this. However that said it is a warm welcoming place to arrive at. It was the most expensive and most sparsely equipped rental of our UK trip. I did get a weak but useable cell signal at the house

We had such a lovely stay at this Sykes cottage in Wales, it was truly cosy, peaceful, and exactly what we needed for a relaxing break.

The cottage itself was comfortable and well-equipped, with almost everything you’d need for a perfect stay. It felt warm and homely from the moment we arrived. Pauline was incredibly kind and answered all our questions before arrival, and the cake waiting for us was such a thoughtful surprise , a really lovely touch that made us feel right at home. The setting is beautiful. As you approach the cottage, the road becomes a bit steep and bumpy (possibly due to the recent weather), but it’s absolutely worth it. You’re rewarded with stunning views across the hills and valley, which really set the tone for a peaceful countryside escape. Driving past the surrounding fields was a highlight in itself – we even spotted tiny lambs running about, which was just delightful. It’s also a great pet-friendly stay. Our pup absolutely loved the space and surroundings, which made the trip even more special for us. Overall, it was calm, quiet, and a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy countryside retreat.

We’d such a peaceful and relaxing time, the scenery is beautiful and the host even left us a carrot cake.

Which was a lovely gesture

We loved staying here.

Completely quiet and rural - no noise, no light pollution, secure field to walk the dog. Obviously for that kind of experience we accessed the cottage via a private farm track, which was fine. Satnav took us straight to it. The cottage was cosy, warm and had everything we needed. The hosts were helpful, welcoming and available if we had any questions. It suited our needs perfectly - it was as described and it was spotless. Good kitchen and comfortable furniture to relax after a tiring day exploring the area. Don’t expect it to be palatial and do expect to drive down a track. We’d highly recommend it to anyone who wants splendid rural isolation to get away from it all with the dog!

Lovely cottage, so peaceful.

Owners very helpful & gave good recommendations for places to go & lovely grounds to walk around & view the scenery.

Delightfully secluded, my greyhound loved wandering the lanes with me and chill out evenings with my partner.

My classic old BMW managed the approach lane mentioned by other visitors without too much difficulty, just a little care.

Nice accomodation in a lovely setting.

However I was fortunate to have a van with a high clearance. I wouldn't have attempted to drive down the half mile of track with a low clearance car.

A very delightful cottage.

Enjoyed our stay with getting to know the sheep. Didn't want to leave. Absolutely beautiful. Would definitely recommend

One of the main drawbacks was the rough track leading to cottage, large holes ,ridges which can potentially damage the underside of car, this definitely needs attention which it hasn’t had for years and needs bringing to the attention of future guests.

Very remote.no washing machine for long stays. No shops bars restaurants.lovely countryside.

I was greated by a lovely warm living room, complete with Christmas tree.

The kitchen was functional and well equipped. Great to have back yard for dog. The bedroom was cosy and again, warm. I am glad I took my own hairdryer as there was not one here. Shower was good, with good water pressure. The flush on the toilet was broken and one night, it hissed all night trying to refill the cyctern. The Internet was mainly ok, for checking emails etc, but was a bit hit and miss. The TV reception was a bit intermittent also. Again, glad I brought a radio. Overall, I had a lovely Christmas break here

The property was at a good standard of cleanliness.

It is described as in a remote location which it was, and suited myself and the cat completely. It is so nice to find accommodation where you can take a cat. I will be seriously thinking of another visit to this peaceful haven.

A nice, cosy little cottage in a pretty area.

The long track down to the cottage was rough and twisting.

A lovely isolated cottage ideal for those who like to get away from it all.

It is very convenient for many coastal venues. A really restful holiday.

Great cottage very comfortable, great for dogs no issues in the cottage.

Quiet and tranquil. Nice touch with a cake on arrival. good location, very safe and secure. Only issue we had was they access road to the cottage should be explained better in the advert as if you have a low car it can cause damage on the way down the access road.

A lovely little cottage, set in a beautiful, tranquil and lush part of the Welsh countryside.

Has everything you need to enjoy a comfy stay….including games and a dvd player

Just what we wanted.

Perfect for our little dog. Alun was the perfect host, told us about the walks around the cottage, places to visit. Spent time talking to my hubby about the history of the cottage. All in all I would recommend so much so we will book again for next yeat

Pauline and Alun were very welcoming.

The cottage was very clean, tidy and well equipped with even a welcome cake which was very thoughtful. Very comfortable stay with excellent access to various activities and attractions in North Wales..

We had a wonderful short break at the cottage.

Well equiped with everything you might need. Comfortable bed. The only downside was the road into the cottage. Very steep and lots of pot holes which could probably be made better / filled with some gravel and stones. We saw a Sparrow Hawk everyday on the road leading to the cottage which was very special. All in all a wonderful place to explore this gorgeous area from. Would be 5/5 if the road was a bit better.

lovely cottage, perfect to my needs with my dog.

Thank you

Lovely clean comfortable property.

Good for anyone with dogs as away from main traffic nice walks from cottage. A set off drawers in bedroom would have been good. Why do some properties never have hairdryers.

What can we say!

What an absolute gem..the cottage was so welcoming ( as were the owners) and perfect for a quiet stay in the countryside. It was so well equipped ..even having a dishwasher! We found some lovely walks and the owner had also mowed a path around his field to walk our dog. The location is perfect for the coast and Snowdonia! We highly recommend this lovely cottage. We will be back..

Stunning location, cottage lovely and clean, parking outside the cottage

Shame we were only there two nights.

Cottage and location was lovely and relaxing, could have happily stayed a week!

Cottage was lovely and well equipped.

So peaceful and quiet. Little private garden for the dog. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Finding the cottage was , for me , a little difficult as the roads are narrow , winding and obviously very steep .

This wasn't helped by roadworks in the village and a diversion ,which we was informed of by the owners . I was also told that the post code covers two farms . I did end up at the first one ! Which really knocked my confidence as the road was treacherous to me ! However I did later notice that the name of the farm was at the entrance on the Top road . Tbh it was a very small one as is the one for Hendre cottages which is the next one . Very steep descent from the road , I found really scary to the point I thought thar i would not be able to drive back out . I did and I soon got use to it . The cottage I'd beautiful , clean & cosy . Tge bed very cozy. Couldn't fault the cottage I don't think the storage heaters will suffice on really cold nights. There are lots of leaflets and info in the table drawer although some very out of date . ( a few maps of the local area would have been good for me ) It is an ideal location to take of visiting places , Conwy , Abergele , Llandudno, are within 40 minutes we visited loads of places . Found the fairy Glenn had a wild sw here.. Lots more to explore we ran out of time . I actually enjoyed the driving of the country lanes , hills .. so much so we had s drive onto the moors which was well worth it . The views are stunning ! We didn't want to leave . All in all a fantastic stay . The host even left a chocolate cake for us , Thank You x

I left early as it stated lynwrst was close.

. it's actually 21.8 miles and the roads are almost single track all the way resulting in a 40 minute drive just to get to lynwrst.. I clocked 160 miles in four days just doing that piece of the journey b4 travelling to our usual places.. heat pump heating doesn't heat enough and gas bottle empty upon arrival. Drive is not good for an inexperienced driver in the wet.. glad to go home.. never again

Lovely comfortable cottage.

Friendly hosts. Only problem which could be easily fixed was the shower leaking through the ceiling.

Lovely hosts and such a warm welcome.

Issues dealt with very quickly, thank you!

Really lovely little cottage tucked away in the valley with walks from the door step.

Lots of good walking locally but is only 60 minutes away from sandy beaches and the mountains. The cottage had everything you need to get away from it all. Perfect for a couple needing to unwind and forget about the world for a few days. Owners where very friendly and even replaced the shower while we where there, as it wasn't working properly when we arrive. Would definitely visit again.

All perfectly fine but access road to cottage could do with maintainance.

Several places have large holes in the surface and sharp edges to the concrete which could cause punctures/ damage to tyres.other than that all good

Good location, friendly hosts, comfortable accommodation some really nice touches eg cakes to greet us when we arrived.

Very friendly had cakes on arrival clean tidy the only thing for me was pillows I kept sliding off but that just a personal thing next time take my own and it would be perfect

Spent great days there

Lovely relaxing cottage in a great location, ideal for the dog

Lovely cottage in the middle of nowhere fabulous views and very very quiet and peaceful.

A very relaxing break.

Great cottage perfect for the missus the dog and me.

Nice open layout upstairs and downstairs, good shower and a comfortable bed, it was very clean and tidy (unfortunately our dog was moulting and there was no Hoover or brush to clean up behind her). The little garden is secure and a cracking sun trap in the afternoon. It's well off the tarmac roads and very peaceful (no mobile signal either so no unwanted interruptions).

Fantastic cottage beautiful surroundings superbly clean and equipped highly recommend and will defiantly be returning.

Pauline and Alun were very welcoming and made us feel very comfortable even Charlie my dog. Great for walking the dog and just walking in general absolutely stunning cottage and location.

Great place to getaway in the middle of nowhere, had everything we needed.

Lovely cottage with some lovely owners, who left instructions to get there and met us the day we left! Just a perfect destination!

Beautiful cottage.

Beautiful surroundings. Lovely family. Pictures and write up don't do justice

Lovely cottage location that was exactly right for what we needed on our short break.

A delightful cottage in a very peaceful setting.

The cottage was immaculately clean and tastefully presented. The furniture, bed and kitchen were all of high quality which added considerably to the comfort of the experience. The dishwasher was a very welcome feature in a holiday cottage. Very quiet, although the other cottages were occupied. Pleasant and unfussy welcome on arrival. Easy access to walking for our dog. Altogether, a lovely stay. The road down to the Aled cottages is bumpy and unmade, but if taken slowly ,it's quite safe and it does mean nobody else uses it!
