A wonderful cosy home in a beautiful location, super quiet, clean, everything you need and would certainly return

For us, the assessment of Hafod Y Llyn is perfectly summed up by a single sentence in the description: “There are a couple of steps down into the kitchen, bathroom and W/C.

” In fact, there are five changes in level within the property, ranging from two steps to a massive five steps down into (and up from) the kitchen. What compounds this is the fact that only one of these changes in level has any support or rail. Indeed, there is evidence that one wooden handrail has been removed at some time. We respect that the owner may feel a support rail does not fit with their vision of the redevelopment of the property, but this should be clearly stated, rather than being mentioned only briefly at the very end of an otherwise glowing description.

A beautiful/quality renovated cottage in idyllic setting of North Wales.

.. however Sykes cottages really needs to improve their contact support systems other than just email/WhatsApp bot messaging.

A wonderful, welcoming and comfortable cottage.

Idyllic remote setting by the pond. An ideal base for exploring Eryri and the Llyn Peninsula, and an ideal place to chill out by the fire in the evening, or with your coffee by the window over the pond in the morning.

We had a wonderful time in a beautiful cottage that was spotlessly clean with excellent, well-maintained facilities and tasteful, welcoming, comfortable decor, in a fantastic location.

We would definitely book again.

Unusual to find such a stylish place to stay in North Wales. Total seclusion and yet close to all the sights. Will definitely stay again.

A really lovely place to stay, didn't want for anything and would thoroughly recommend it.

The property was immaculate and beautifully presented.

Arguable whether pet friendly with so many strict rules but managed. Sykes have been a nightmare and it’s a shame this property is managed by them. Impossible to contact, zero effort to return any form of communication and when Trustpilot review left, their response was to contact them. Completely missed the point!

We loved this property.

The cottage is beautiful, cosy, very well looked after and decorated with warmth and skill. Great location for the things we wanted to do - remote enough to feel really quiet and off the beaten track, yet only a few minutes drive from local towns etc. The photos looked very good but we thought the property was nicer than the photos showed. Would definitely come back.

Absolutely fantastic accommodation and we had a wonderful stay.

Becky the housekeeper does a wonderful job. The listing should mention the track to the cottage, this was okay but may be an issue to some. The neighbours’ dogs were loose on arrival and came very close barking aggressively, this was an unfortunate way to start the holiday and our children were quite nervous after this. It is a very special location and we will definitely return.

The property exceeded all expectations.

It was comfortable and spacious and the setting was tranquil and idyllic. Our only suggestion is that you install more handrails for all the short flights of stairs, particularly down to the bathroom and toilet. My friend slipped on them a couple of times. Other than that it was perfect.

I think it should mention in the advertising details that the bathroom and kitchen are not at the same level as other areas

Hafod y Llyn exceeded our expectations.

The accommodation was just lovely, and the setting so peaceful. My sister and I enjoyed our stay so much that we booked again for next year.

We had a wonderful stay at Hafod Y Llyn, the building is beautiful and love all the detail and coziness of the property.

The views from every angle and window are beautiful and felt immediately at piece. Short drive from BlackRock Sands and tucked away from the hustle too. It's worth noting the lane connecting the property to the road is an undulating bumpy track and there are a couple of neighbours to the property with dogs also.

A wonderful place for rural break.

Beautiful, comfortable interior with all we needed. Great place to feel away from it all, but in real comfort. Coffee at the table with a view over the pond and the backdrop of the hills. So much to do in this beautiful area. Llyn to the west and Eryri to the East, perfect for some time out doors. Thanks!!
