“We stayed at Rose Cottage with our 2 spaniels for out 30th wedding anniversary.”
The cottage is immaculate and beautifully furnished, with gorgeous Spode crockery and Le Cruset kitchen equipment. The garden is lovely bonus in the town centre too - especially with 2 dogs. The gas fire is really cosy and easier to use than a log burner but just as romantic. The bedroom, bathroom and dressing room are just wow! Lots of lighting options and plenty of sockets. WiFi is excellent too. Lots of fluffy towels, duck down quilt and quality sheets and bedding added to the luxury too.
Parking is in a well lit car park 2 minutes away, and we used PayPark on arrival for 4 full days parking for £29, which was great!
The cottage location is literally 2 minutes from the town square, with lots of independent shops and cafes/restaurants, most of which are dog friendly. We liked The Peppermill Restaurant and the chip shop opposite The Albion pub (which is a friendly real ale pub with a courtyard at the back). We also drove to The Mulberry at the marina, but realised we probably could’ve walked in 30 minutes.
Conwy itself is so friendly and had everything we needed, but almost walking distance (outside the castle walls) is a Lidl and Tesco. The castle itself is really interesting and has amazing views from turrets and walls. Conwy is just 45 minutes from Llanberis/Snowdon and Bedgellert, around the same time for Anglesey beaches too. Aber Falls is a 15 minute drive (an hour’s stroll to the waterfall).
We’d highly recommend this accommodation, run by a lovely friendly host who rang and texted to keep us updated and check everything was okay.
We really felt like we were staying at a friends house, not just a holiday rental. We’d love to come back as soon as we can, and have already recommended Rose Cottage to a number of our friends.
