Hafan Glyd

Lovely location.

Close to all amenities: cafes, pubs and walks. Conwy is super dog-friendly. The cottage was adequate for us as a couple. Bed was comfortable. Chairs ok. Didn’t use the 2nd bedroom or top floor but would be nice for small children. As previous reviews, car parking was a challenge often depending how neighbours double park. Glad I wasn’t the driver, hubby always reversed up the hill. Disappointed by the small backyard as a dog owner, had to walk the dog to the harbour for her early morning needs. Biggest disappointment was the oven. It was too dirty to use. We ate out every day - not what we’d planned. Other utensils etc were clean. Should be checked after last occupancy! We enjoyed the location but have looked at another cottage for next time.

This is our second stay at Hafan Glyd.

The two reception rooms downstairs and the games room in the attic are great additional spaces to escape to. The property is well decorated and clean. The accomodation is right in the centre of Conwy, but is very quiet being a cul de sac. It is just minuets walk to the Quay, Park, Pubs, Shops, Cafés and restaurants. The proximity of train station and buses was a great bonus. The outside space was small but lovely to relax in. The only slight negative was that it needed a good sweep. Lots of the pots were sparse and had not been looked after, as they had weeds growing in them. The Camilia shrub just outside the back door, needed cutting back, as you had to swerve to avoid it every time you went out. We work as gardeners so this is why we spotted these minor discrepancies, but it didn't spoil our experiences at all.

Wonderful cottage in a perfect location.

Highly recommend!! Conwy stole our hearts and this cottage is perfectly located a stones throw from everything. Down a very quiet street right by the historic walls, so no traffic noise but 2 min walk from the shops, seafront, and attractions such as Plas Mawr. Beds were comfy, everything was clean, and my son loved having the pool table at the top. The only very small negatives was the curtains let a lot of light in so if travelling with kids in the summer maybe bring eye masks or a gro blind. Also the living room TV is not a smart TV, this didn't impact us as the weather was too nice to be watching TV but if we'd had some rainy evenings we would have wanted to use that lovely comfy looking room to watch a film, so bringing a fire stick you can plug in and stream would be recommended. The TV in the other room which also has the dining table was a smart TV. The parking was challenging as expected but we managed to get parked there the whole week and our car is pretty long (always reverse up street!) it is possible to get trapped though due to other people's cars and one morning getting out was very close and a bit nerve wracking!! I think parking is like this on all of these streets on Conwy where the holiday cottages are. All in all though we wouldn't hesitate to come back to the cottage and will be recommending it to lots of people!

A fantastic cottage in the centre of Conwy.

It is a great location and a beautiful cottage. Very quiet, comfortable and has everything we needed. It was an added bonus to have parking. The neighbours were very kind and helped us. It was tight to get in, but great to leave our car there and walk/ use the local train.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this lovely little cottage in Conwy.

The weather wasn't the best but the beds were very comfortable and the house was kept warm, although we did need to boost the heating a few times. Conwy is lovely with lots of eating options and great pubs. A couple of niggles that have been mentioned already but not addressed - the downstairs rooms definitely need some lamps and some hooks on the back of the doors would be very handy. Much has been said about the parking and it is a bit tricky, but wouldn't put me off booking this property again.

Absolutely loved staying in this lovely cottage.

Spacious property, bed was very comfy and the cottage had everything you wanted. The only thing I would say, is that both rooms downstairs could do with some lamps to make it feel cosy at night instead of using the main lights. Will definitely be booking to stay again and would highly recommend.

Perfect central location for our weekend stay.

Warm and comfortable accommodation, decorated to a high standard and within great proximity to Conwy and the Marina. We weren’t able to park outside the property as there was a van parked on the opposite side of the narrow road which would have blocked in the car behind us, so we used the pay & display only a few minutes walk away. We recommend and would stay at this property again.

Hafan Glyd is charming and very comfortable, ideally situated in the heart of Conwy and a good place from which to explore North Wales.

However, a few niggles which could be improved upon; firstly the cottage information folder is missing some instruction manuals for kitchen appliances and fails to mention that the freezer (identified as being in the kitchen in the accommodation description on this site) is housed in the outbuilding with the washing machine). Whilst we fully understand why and have no problem with the freezer and washing machine being in an outbuilding, the outbuilding requires some attention, it is filthy dirty and full of ‘stuff’, so much so that it is impossible to open the freezer door fully due to a rusty large set of stepladders being wedged in and immovable.

Beautiful cottage with lots of character in an ideal position in Conwy.

The bed was extremely comfortable and quality bedding and towels provided. We will definitely stay here again.

Hafan Glyd is a perfect little home from home.

It's cosy and snug, with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a games area in the loft space which is easily accessible by a stairway from the main bedroom. Everything looks brand new, and the decor is tastefully done. Being within the old town walls, the house is right in the centre of Conwy and so close to eateries, the castle and the harbour. For all that, it is also in a quiet spot with no passing traffic. As suggested from other reviews, it is best to reverse up the narrow street to park right outside the house, to make access and egress more manageable. I love Conwy, with its proximity to other places to visit in the local area (Plas Newydd, Anglesey, Bodnant Gardens, Llandudno and others), and staying at Hafan Glyd made our holiday even better. The cottage was cosy, comfy and clean.

It's position in the heart of Conwy is fantastic and it was very peaceful despite being in a bustling town. Communication with the owner was very efficient and helpful. The cottage gave us everything we wished for. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The cottage was clean and comfortable. The only thing I would ask for is a couple of hooks to hang wet coats on!

Had a lovely stay in Hafan Glyd, very cosy, clean, decorated to a high standard and the furniture was of a high standard too.

Plenty of facilities in the kitchen. Parking as mentioned on other reviews is easier if you reverse up the dead end road. This was not a problem for us. There’s so much to do in and around Conwy and we met some lovely local people. We will definitely be coming back here again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We (family of 4) loved our stay at Hafan Glyd.

It's a charming property situated in the heart of a bustling old Welsh town. There's so much to see and do within the town itself and much of it is just a short walk away. It's well equipped and has been renovated to a high standard. The owners are pleasant and attentive too. I'd also recommend reversing up to the property and am grateful to those that suggested doing so. My tip would be to take slippers, although it must be said that the heating system is really easy to use and very efficient.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage, didn’t want for anything lovely and clean and very well equipped, weather was amazing for time of year as well, we will definitely be booking it again really didn’t want to come home and would highly recommend it

We really enjoyed our stay at Hafod Glyd, it is a lovely little cottage, warm, comfortable and newly decorated.

It is perfectly located within the town walls so close to all of the shops restaurants and of course the castle. We can totally recommend the marine walk just 4 minutes from the front door and absolutely stunning on a sunny morning and perfect for watching the January sunrise followed by breakfast in one of the numerous cafes less than 500 yards away

We had a really lovely time at Hafan Glyd, Conwy, North Wales.

The little cottage was immaculate. It was clean, beautiful decorated, cosy & had everything you could possibly need for a great family get away. Our stay was over the Christmas week & they had decorated the house beautifully with lovely little Christmas touches, which was really appreciated as the kids were away from home & somewhere different, so it made a big difference. Conwy was so festive with lights up, decorated trees & outdoor Christmas Eve party which they do every year by the castle which was busy with singing, music, Santa appearing on the ramparts & fireworks. The kids loved it. There are lots of lovely boutique shops & great places to go for walks with the dog. The hosts replied very quickly when we had a couple of questions. There were great views of the castle walls from right outside the windows. We would definitely recommend a visit & would love to comeback again when we visit our family in North Wales, as it's the perfect bolt hole. All round a great stay. Thank you.

Cottage fine.

Parking tight but manageable. Conwy lovely. Adequate shops, pubs and other facilities near at hand. Very pleasant stay indeed.

The cottage had every thing that we needed, it was lovely and very homely.

Very clean and tidy. The cottage is in a fab location with everything close by. Parking can be an issue at busy times, we and others found it easier to reverse up the road, can be very tight when cars are parked at both sides of the road. I would definitely stay again and recommend this cottage for a nice little break away

Excellent location, literally in the middle of the beautiful town.

This is practically a new house, been completely renovated and is lovely. It is small but the location makes up for it. Lovely inside, with all the facilities you need. Parking is tight but manageable.
