Nice property, centrally located, 10mtrs to the high street, no parking within 100mtrs other than residence parking.

House is well presented, rooms are exactly as the pictures, kitchen contains everything you will need. 1st floor double rooms are "just" doubles with little room around the beds, placed suitcases under the bed to save room.

Just to clarify for future guests, the beds in the first-floor bedrooms and all are king-size beds, as described in our listing, rather than standard doubles. The bedrooms, their proportions and layouts are also shown accurately in the listing photographs as you kindly noted yourself, the rooms are exactly as pictured. Ivy House is a historic property right in the centre of Conwy, just moments from the High Street, and we aim to make the listing as clear and accurate as possible so guests know exactly what to expect before booking.

Lovely property spotlessly clean very comfortable bedding excellent location Very modern decor and nicely laid out .

Only downside which is not property owners fault a boisterous pub right at the back of property if you don’t like that sort of thing . Note to owner would have been a nice touch to have a welcome pack ie some local produce milk etc .strong smell of bleach when entering property. Not a criticism just observations. Overall a lovely stay would recommend to future guests. No problems wth our stay through Sykes and our host Many thanks

Wonderful week at Ivy House.

Prior to arrival had a coupe of questions, and our host Joey was helpful and prompt in responding. Found parking outside the front door with no problem upon arrival. We didn’t use the car for the rest of our stay so it did not move, but there did seem to be some spaces frequently. The home was as described and pictured and was well appointed and very clean. The kitchen features all that you need to cook. I messaged ahead of time to enquire about the coffee machine and confirmed it takes whole beans. I did have to use YouTube to check how it worked, but easy once you know. The bedrooms are all lovely. Especially the roof room which I had the pleasure of staying in. As it’s central there can be some noise but this was expected in a town and did not trouble us. The rear room backs on to the rear yard, and then a small pub garden, we did hear this some nights, but think this may have been more so due to it being the annual Pirate Festival and also the World Cup. Always plenty of hot water, even when using the very large bath! Shampoo and conditioner provided but no body wash. There was washing up liquid and dishwasher tabs, kitchen roll, foil etc and toilet paper. Would recommend and return. Recommend Jalsa Indian take away. The Marinas in both Conwy and Deganwy both are walkable if you are fairly fit and the Castle Hotel is on the doorstep if not, all of which have great food. The Liverpool Arms is good for a spot of people watching, but beware of the seagulls if you have an ice cream, witnessed more than a few lost to the very greedy gulls. Also worth a visit is the secret garden behind the wine shop on the Main Street. Thank you for a lovely stay Suzanne

The cottage has been rennovated and decorated to a high standard.

However there was a consenus amonst our party of 6 adults that it was a little style over substance in some areas. Whilst generally well equipt the following was missing. No washing up bowl ( difficult with a Belfast sink), no oven gloves, no wine glasses ( only prosseco glasses), no pint glasses. There is virtually no storage for clothes bar a few (4 /5) hangers on a small rail. The lack of storage was a little bemusing as there was plenty of space but the owners have actually chosen to 'style' the bedrooms and landing to the practical detriment of any drawers/ cupboard space etc. Had to live out of suitcases and trip over them. The bath ,unfortunately ,wasn't usable for the 2 guests in the room as they couldn't safely get in or out of it due to its position under the low eves. ( prob ok for younger folk). Fires but no kindling, fire lighters, wood etc. No coasters( we didn't want to mark the furniture). Parking is as described (and in other reviews) on a first come basis but in reality is almost non existant. Sounds like a lot of gripes but all pretty minor stuff really. More just vaguely irritating than anything worse and a lot could be easily put right.We overall enjoyed the stay. Location is super.

We’re sorry to hear that you found aspects of your stay disappointing, although we are pleased that you overall enjoyed your stay, the location and the standard of the renovation. Just to clarify a few points for future guests, the kitchen has a traditional Belfast sink, which can of course be filled for washing up, as well as a full-size dishwasher. We will, however, take on board the comments regarding the washing bowl and pint glasses The property is one of the larger houses within Conwy’s historic castle walls, and we have deliberately chosen open hanging spaces rather than filling the bedrooms with bulky wardrobes and furniture. This helps retain a feeling of space and avoids overcrowding the rooms. The freestanding bath is positioned beneath the eaves as part of the character of the top-floor suite. How comfortable this is to access will naturally depend on an individual mobility and personal comfort. Regarding the fires, we haven’t previously had a request for kindling or firewood during the summer months, particularly during very warm weather, but we will certainly note this for future guests who may wish to use the fire regardless of the season. Parking is exactly as advertised: unrestricted on-street parking on a first-come, first-served basis. We regularly park our own 4x4 in the area and have found plenty of additional parking along Llewelyn Street and the surrounding lanes. We completely understand, however, that parking within a historic walled town can feel unfamiliar to some guests. Having free parking available within the castle walls is something of a luxury given the age and layout of Conwy. We take all constructive feedback seriously and are always looking at ways to improve the experience for our guests. We are incredibly proud that the property has since been recognised as the No. 1 staycation in the UK in a national award/list, which means a great deal to us, while also recognising that no property or style will suit every guest.

The property in general was good, everything was accurate apart from we had no WIFI as stated.

I did enquire to Sykes cottages on the app and had no response from them at all so this has been a big let down and will not use them again. The property itself was lovely and clean, in a good location but parking was an issue. Yes it did state about a first come first serve basis but there really was NO parking and we had to pay £8.50 per day for a space about 10 min walk from the property. The property also backed onto a pub garden. This itself was ok sitting out the back but the bottles were emptied daily very early in the morning and also delivery of the beer kegs very early in the morning which was very noisy.

Additionally, the owner is always happy to help and available to assist if there are any concerns, especially in cases where Sykes may not respond promptly. With regard to parking, we do specify that it is on a first come, first served basis for on-street parking. While it can sometimes be limited due to the central location, it is not accurate to say there is no parking at all, and we do want to clarify this to avoid any confusion for future guests. Free parking is also available Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays at Bodlondeb Car Park should you not feel confident driving down quaint roads. Conwy is indeed a vibrant, historic town with plenty of character, including nearby restaurants and pubs. While this contributes to the area’s charm, we understand it may not be ideal for those seeking a completely quiet and remote setting.
