11 Marine Terrace

The house is huge so there was plenty of room for 11 of us.

There are lots of nice touches around - photos and art work and space to sit together and the bedroom on the top floor is lovely. The host was very helpful when we locked ourselves out! Things I think would make it even better are king size beds in place of doubles, and an ordinary hob and oven rather than an Aga (making food for 11 was difficult and it felt dangerous with young children around).

We recently spent a week in this beautiful house over looking the sea, with a group of 12 people and 2 dogs.

Our first impression was the incredible amount of space we had, and our stay was absolutely wonderful. Location – It couldn’t have been better. Just steps from the beach, with stunning sea views from the front facing bedrooms and the second floor living room. It was bliss hearing the sound of the waves as you stepped out the front door. The beach, castle, and a lovely café serving delicious ice cream were all right on the doorstep. The House – The property was wonderful and designed for larger groups. There were plenty of comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms, so everyone had their own space without ever feeling crowded. The property had an open plan ground floor living room, dining area with a table that sat 10, was ideal for gathering together, and the 2nd large dining tables in the kitchen that also sat 10. The cottage style kitchen had the cosy, traditional feel you’d expect and quickly became the hub of activity. The Kitchen – Fully equipped with everything we needed. Modern appliances, plenty of cookware, a large refrigerator plus additional smaller fridge and also freezers. Give us ample space for food shopping. The dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, and washing machine all worked well. The Garden – We visited in February, so we didn’t spend time in the garden. However, it was observed that it could benefit from a spring tidy up. That said, it was fully enclosed, making it safe for the dogs. Maintenance – The showers were warm, and even with 12 people, we never ran out of hot water. We did have a small issue with the heating, but a quick message to the owner resolved it promptly, and we were comfortable for the rest of our stay. Overall – We all had an amazing stay. The location and the generous internal space comfortably accommodated 12 people and 2 dogs. We’ve already looked into booking again! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

This is a fabulous house in a great location and within walking distance of the town.

It is spacious and a great place for family get togethers. Clean, warm and peaceful.

We enjoyed our stay.

The house is lovely. The art work around the house is amazing and the house is in a good position. I do feel the house is in need of some TLC though. The back yard was in need of a clean and the settee is the sitting room wasn’t at all comfy. These are small things but would have made the experience better. I also feel disappointed when I get to a property and have to go straight out to get tea, coffee, milk, washing up liquid and kitchen rolls. I’d rather have these than a basket of goodies actually.

11 Marine Terrace Criccieth We spent a week in this lovely old house the last week of October 2025.

Our party consisted of 10 adults, 5 children and 2 dogs. Spacious well presented house provided enough space, privacy and communal togetherness to satisfy everyone. The views, especially from the front-facing bedroom and the upstairs (first floor) second lounge was fantastic. The owners provided a few sets of binoculars, great for trying to spot seals and dolphins (a few were spotted during our holiday). The heating system worked well, and the bathrooms and showers were warm and had good flow. The house had a gas-fired Aga that kept the kitchen nice and warm (the quaint, old fashioned clothes drying rack suspended from the ceiling was used a lot). However, cooking for lots of people wasn’t really very practical. As we were on holiday, we ate out mostly but did have some meals in-house. Extra planning required, but the slow cooking feature of the Aga worked quite well. Overall, we had a great holiday in a lovely older house adjacent to the sea, and a stone throw away from Criccieth Castle. We are thinking of booking the house again next year or the year after as it met our needs well. There is a welcoming plaque outside the front door providing information about a significant previous owner - Frederic Stanley Kipping (1863-1949) who was an English chemist who pioneered the study of organic compounds of silicon, coining the term "silicone" in 1901.

We all agreed that the pictures don't actually do the place justice of actually how nice the property is.

Huge space with plenty of rooms and bedrooms. Amazing location and the building is well maintained. Mike kept in touch throughout the process.. would definitely recommend anyone looking to book

11, Marine Terrace is a perfect holiday home for a large family gathering with young ‘beach-loving’ children.

The location is ideal and the group managed to explore the area, whilst also being able to enjoy the vicinity closer to home. The facilities were excellent and the owners attentive. Parking outside was straightforward with ample spaces in the street. We would recommend this to others and would love to return ourselves. Unfortunately I feel unable to recommend Sykes as a holiday letting company as their communication post-booking was poor; it was extremely difficult to talk with an assistant and it was only when I threatened to email their senior management that I received a response.

We went 25th of December 2024,we had a great time, it's a lovely big house with sea front,.

With lots of facilities. We would love to go again. Thank you to honers of the house.

(Some tea and various spices in kitchen too) A beautiful, comfortable house with plenty of space for our party of 10 on our annual "soup holiday" together. Lots to do in the area and great views. We really enjoyed our meal at No 51, otherwise mostly home cooking. NB the Aga takes a bit of getting used to, apart from a microwave, electric kettle and toaster there is no other means of cooking.

We loved staying at 11 Marine Terrace - the house was perfect for a large group- really spacious - we enjoyed the large comfortable, sitting rooms.

We all slept well listening to the sea. We didn’t have great weather all the time but when we were stuck in we loved looking out at the sea views from the sitting rooms. We even mastered the Aga - worked well for lots of vegetarians- roasting vegetables perfectly ! Criccieth is a great town with lots of great antique shops and cafes - we ate as a big group at Bwyty 51 which had really good food. Thanks!

Lovely family home right on the beach!

Lots of bedroom combinations to suit family! Warm welcoming kitchen with an AGA cooker! Lots of bathrooms too! Ideal position to explore the beautiful Llyn penisula, lovely coastal walks & sandy beaches! Can’t recommend it enough, fabulous!

We all loved this property.

We had a great family get together with plenty of room for all the toys and noise that goes along with kids. The cleanliness, decor and comfort levels were great too. It was across the road from the beach which was perfect. The village was also really cute.

Just a few little things fire light not working the remote in lounge doesn’t work properly and the tap in kitchen needs attention. Otherwise fabulous

The views are stunning. The location is perfect as we were able to walk to all local amenities. There was loads of space for everyone and we enjoyed some lovely family meals in the fabulous kitchen.

We loved the Aga and the spacious kitchen equipped with everything we needed. It was a great location and the views were amazing. The 2nd sitting room was lovely with views out to sea. Would highly recommend and would love to visit again.

Fabulous house.

We were a party of 15 with ages ranging from 4 to 74. Warm, cosy, loads of space. Only criticism would be having only Aga to cook on. Tricky to cook,for example, pizzas for 15 in oven!! No doubt if we were used to an Aga we would have coped better. Position of property next to the sea, was wonderful for the children. They loved it. Pictures and description of property do not do it justice. Will recommend it to others

A superb large spacious house in a perfect location for a family beach holiday.

Ample reception rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms, all clean and well presented. Bedlinen and towels immaculate. A nice welcome basket with cakes greeted us. If i had to make any comments, the Aga was a struggle to use for a large gathering, and as it was on all the time, the kitchen was very hot. A large range cooker, electric or gas, would have been much more beneficial. The kitchen was well equipped, maybe a few more larger pans, dishes and a large measuring jug? Also there were no pegs for the washing line! On the whole we had a fabulous holiday and would definitely come back! Many thanks!

A home from home, we all loved the aga and the warmth this brought to the kitchen and helped dry the swimming costumes from the kids dips in the sea.

We loved the view and the layout of the property worked well for us.

Everything we needed for a home away from home was provided. The location was just right too: next to the sea, near a castle, right on the Wales Coast Path: perfect for us. We were able to have a really relaxing week.

The property was beautiful, comfy and had everything we needed for a great weekend.

Cooking on the Aga took a bit of getting used to but we eventually sussed the cooking levels. The only thing I would say the kitchen needed was an electric kettle, when cooking for 14 there isn't enough room on the stove for the kettle. Being on the beachfront was ideal for us and combined with very unexpected sunshine was a bonus. Criccieth was a lovely town plenty of little shops to wander round and places to eat.

It is beautiful, there is loads of space for big family groups, everything was clean and it was only a shame we weren’t staying longer.

We were 10 of us for part of the week and only 2 of us for 3 nights.

Spacious, warm, welcoming. Good showers, beds, quality linen and towels. Sofas proved uncomfortable, but easy chairs were fine. Right o. the sea front, with a big table and benches out front to enjoy the stunning views.

Couldn't get over the size of the place. Everything you could possibly need was available there. The position is fantastic. Criccieth was my favourite place. I would definitely like to return in the future.

A spacious and well appointed house ideal for our family holiday. A beautiful location with lots to do in the surrounding area. Going to sleep listening to the sound of the waves and waking up to a sea view was the icing on the cake! We had an excellent stay and would highly recommend this fabulous property.

Looking straight into the sea. Owner very helpful when contacted. Would certainly want to go again.

It would have been nice to have a better understanding of how very different an Aga range cooker is to a normal cooker.

Ended up having some very late meals because we did not appreciate how slow an Aga can be and the microwave was too small to fit a large meal into it. We had 2 x 90+ family members with us and for them hand rails on both sides of the stairs would have been useful. Other than these minor points we found the property to be well presented, well maintained and very comfortable. We would certainly be happy to make a return visit.

This house looks directly onto the beach with amazing views across the bay.

It is very spacious,thoughtfully furnished and easily accommodated 7 adults,4 children and a baby. We liked it so much we booked it again for next year!

Lovely house right on the sea front and parking was never an issue.

There was 14 of us staying and we had plenty of room. Would defiantly return and recommend to anyone. The only thing missing was a toaster!

We had a fantastic long weekend at 11 Marine Terrace.

We gathered with our family to celebrate my husband's 75th birthday and were delighted that the house was so beautiful, comfortable, spacious and well equipped. It has everything a large group could possibly need including books, games, and table football. There are wonderful views of sea and mountains and there is a lovely pebbly beach just opposite the house. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

All dealings with Sykes were spot on.

I was kept informed all the way from booking to arriving. I have to say the house completely exceeded our expectations, the pictures are accurate but you don't realise how lovely it is until you are inside. So much attention to detail, plenty of pots and cutlery. The position is brilliant, just across from the sea and round the corner from Criccieth Castle. We are definitely hoping to go again but in the summer this time. I cant recommend this property enough.
