Can y Mor

This was the third time that we have stayed at Can Y Mor.

It is a lovely property, in a great location to access the whole island and is very comfortable. The en-suite bedroom on the ground floor makes it an ideal space for the less mobile grandparents, while the parents and kids have their own space and family bathroom at first floor level. The hot water in the mornings was intermittent, some mornings there was plenty, other mornings it ran out after one shower. Take a table cloth with you as the table surface is sticky (it’s the finish rather than dirt), we bought a disposable one while we were there but it ripped when we took it off as it had stuck to the table

Overall the accommodation is very good.

Really spacious. Excellent amount of equipment and extras for 2 couples or a family. Good location for visiting highlights of Anglesey. Let down in comparison with other properties on the same estate by the fact that rattan furniture in garden couldn't be used because there is nowhere to store the cushions so they became saturated. The dining table is so sticky due to being revarnished that it made playing board or card games difficult and even putting your elbows on the table was unpleasant. If these could be rectified it would be 5*

The property is in an excellent location on a small, quiet estate.

It is very close to beautiful Benllech beach which is a 5 minute drive away. It is well equipped and was very clean. The extractor fan in the downstairs en suite was not working hence the 4 stars for maintenance. Several comments have been made about this issue in the Visitors book, some from last year.

The Owner had fabulous communication.

I have let her know of a few facilities and maintenance issues on the property which she assures me she will handle. The property is in a great location and nice and modern. Again a few minor issues with cleaning that have been fed back to owner. The facilities of the property make up for the few issues we had- kitchen well stocked, high chair for babies etc. If issues are rectified we would visit again.

We stayed at this lovely accommodation for a couple of nights, everything was perfect and as described.

There was ample room and space for our family of 6 adults and 2 young children. Ideal location to explore some of Anglesey. Would have no hesitation staying here again.

Great place and location , downside was the cushions for the garden furniture are left out - hence soaking wet !

If a decent outdoor box was provided then it would easily resolve the issue - lots of other rentals on the same estate - could not see any issues in their gardens

The extractor fan wasn't working in the downstairs bathroom.

This resulted in a lot of condensation running down the walls.

A beautiful home to stay in, we had everything we needed.

The house was immaculate & the beds were very comfortable. We made use of the patio furniture & grassed area outside which was a perfect size. The owners have taken on board previous comments eg putting in shower mats etc. I would definitely recommend to my friends & family and would return again.

This property fell short on expectations.

We had no hot water for 2 days , the owner asked us to do a boost on the system which wouldn’t work.  I hope after our terrible experience the owners have done a deep clean on this property as I wouldn’t want any other holiday makers to encounter what we did. Dirty kitchen work tops, dining table and floor. The oven we had to clean ourselves as it was black and full of stale burnt food. The garden had fence panels missing and it had been maintained in some time. While I don’t mind stripping beds at the end of my stay I do expect to find stains on the duvets and pillow cases. There are plenty other properties on this development but this one I would avoid . Only plus to this particular property is its location.

Very clean & lovely house to stay in.

However, both the shower & main bathroom need an anti slip mat inside the shower & bath, very slippy when wet. Beds very comfortable but all the duvets were only a 4.5 Tog summer duvet in all 3 bedrooms, it would of been nicer to have a 10.5 or 13 Tog winter duvet, as it was cold but there was an abundance of blankets too.

Very well furnished property with lots of added extras to make a very comfortable stay.

The property is well equipped. Location is ideal for the beach. Looking forward to returning next year.

Faultless and peaceful. Definitely book again next year. A little sad to leave after our 4 wonderful nights there. 10 out of 10

Can y Mor is a lovely place to stay and catered for everything I needed, although a hot tub would've been nice.

It was so close to the village and all the amenities without it being intrusive and it was a gentle walk down to the beach. The property itself was immaculate and 1 of the most well kept holiday lets I've ever stayed in. The furnishings and decoration were lovely and there was lots of space. The communication from Sykes before I stayed was excellent and I didn't have any issues at all. I highly recommend Can y Mor to anyone who wants to stay in a lovely property, close (but not too close) to all amenities and a lovely stretch of beach. Thank you for our stay and making it so comfortable and memorable.

The house was very well furnished with some nice finishing touches.

The double bed downstairs was extremely comfortable with a large en-suite and walk in shower. The kitchen was very well equipped for preparing meals although we would have liked a teapot instead of having to make individual cups all the time. The HDMI cable between the TV and the DVD was missing ( this was pointed out by the previous guests ). After contacting the owner she arranged for a new cable the next morning and we set this up without any problem. Thank you for sorting so quickly. A few little niggles:- The extractor fans in both bathrooms were not working. This had been pointed out by previous guests. The rattan furniture outside was unusable as the seat pads and cushions were saturated. These seem to be left outside rather than into storage. There is a garden storage box which has a broken lid and wouldn't be big enough to put these seat cushions in. I think it would be a good idea to put the owner contact details in the information booklet rather than in the guest comments book. I contacted Sykes to get the owner contact details as I couldn't initially find them after searching the information folder. They rang me back within 30 minutes and I then spoke to the owner who sorted out the DVD cable. I then found the owner contact on the first page of the guest book( not the most obvious place). I have put owner contact number in the information folder. There is poor mobile signal inside for O2. Can get signal if you stand in the garden by the side gate. EE and Vodaphone signals non existent. Nothing the owner can do about this but useful info for other guests. Wi-Fi excellent in the house. These would not stop us returning to Can - y- Mor as we really enjoyed our stay. The house is ideally placed for many attractions and restaurants. Thank you for the milk and Welsh cakes, they were very welcome.

The property was lovely.

It was modern/ beautifully decorated with good quality furniture, fixtures and fittings. The property guest handbook could have done with being more descriptive since all appliances leaflets were general ones and did not tell you how to actually use the electrical appliances. The dvd player had no output cable between dvd and tv so would not work( we had taken dvd's to watch so that was a waste of time). One of the patio door blinds was faulty/ could not be used. The bathroom wash hand basin mixer tap was loose where it was fixed through the sink unit( minor tightening up needed to prevent it moving when operated). The towel rail heaters in both bathroom/shower rooms)could only be switched on and off using the on/off isolation switch/ no temperature control whatsoever/heater got dangerously hot. This type of heater can only be operated using a mobile phone app, so suggest property owners should set same to come on automatically say twice a day (10am/10pm) for 1 hour each to ensure towels used are properly dried in readiness for next am/pm usage for bathing/showering, and temperature limit set at a max of 50 deg C on both towel rails.

Overall we enjoyed our break at the house.

The accommodation was clean and comfortable. However a couple of issues for us were- no instructions on how to use the heating system, the lack of storage in the kitchen for guests own provisions and the outside space wasn't really usable as the seats were either saturated or it was too hot to sit out as there was no parasol provided. Hope this information is of use.

A lovely property,well maintained with everything you could possibly need.

Location is great on a quiet, small estate within easy reach of the beach and supermarket.

Clean, comfortable and well equipped accommodation, nicely furnished and decorated.

A good space indoors and out for our small three generation family to enjoy time together. Good location for beaches and other Anglesey attractions.

Unfortunately no info on the hob (we have gas at home), the heating controls or the rather minimalist TV remote, but these are just very minor niggles. Overall impressed enough to re-book for later in the year while we were there!

Amazing House.

In the nicest way possible, the pictures don't do the house justice, it is such a modern and clean house that was perfect for our needs. Owners have thought of everything that a family may need for a holiday home, and in a very nice peaceful location, literally 5 minute drive to Benllech beach and a stones throw from the best curry house in the area. Only very small gripe, and as previous holiday makers noted in your comments book, please fix the kitchen tap! But do not hesitate to book this place, would highly recommend!

We had a lovely few days here.

The house is modern, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Situated in a quiet spot but not far from beaches shops and restaurants. Would love to come back and will certainly recommend.

The property was lovely, very comfortable and had everything we needed.

Location great too. We had a lovely stay and can highly recommend staying here. Just a couple of things we think need addressing. The first is the sticking front door. When we arrived we struggled to open the door, we eventually managed it but this really needs sorting out as we struggled with it throughout our stay. The second was lack of instructions for the heating system. It would be helpful if these were included along with all the other useful information. Apart from these two issues, it’s the nicest property we have stayed in, in Angelsey.

Owners use this house themselves which means the following: Lots of crocks and cutlery, dishes etc.

Handy switches, bedside lamps etc No shortage of towels. Very high standard of cleaning. We had a very good break.

Lovely "home-from-home" property.

We only had one criticism - the front door sticks so badly that one of our number (a grown woman) couldn't open it from inside. We feel that this is a SAFETY HAZARD. In the event of a fire, adrenalin might provide the extra strength needed to get out, but that is not a good situation! Fix this, and we would be very happy to stay again, on a future occasion.

Clean modern property Close to Benllech by car.

Fitted with everything needed dishwasher microwave coffee machine etc and more. The downstairs bedroom and bathroom was perfect for my elderly mother. Just a couple of issues- the front door and the patio window stick and are hard to open. A casserole dish would have been useful too. We had a very comfortable stay and would definitely return.

It was a lovely property, was one of the safest I’ve stayed in with the sprinklers and also liked that they had solar power to heat the water (with a back up for when there’s no sun).

Nice decoration and comfy beds and seating. Easy access to all that Anglesey has to offer.

Lovely position.

Well equipped. Comfortable beds. Beautifully soft towels. It felt like home! A parasol would be good for hot sunny days outside. The owner was very helpful. Whilst it was reasonably clean it could do with a deep clean in some areas. We very much enjoyed our stay and would love to return.

We had a lovely stay.

The cottage was like home-from-home, we settled in quickly. It's very well located for the beach and the town centre, as well as for travelling further afield. The owner was very friendly and helpful when needed. Highly recommended for a family of four like us!

A really lovely house, very well kept, spacious and beautifully decorated.

We only had one problem, but it was a big one - we had no hot water for the majority of the week. After two phone calls over two days and following instructions we still couldn’t resolve the issue. We were advised to ring back if the things we were asked to try hadn’t worked but given that we only had two days left and we were going out for most of both days we decided to continue to manage by just using the electric shower in the downstairs bathroom and the dishwasher. The shower upstairs was so much nicer and efficient, so it was a shame we didn’t get to use that one for more than one day! We also couldn’t figure out how to use the air conditioning as there were no instructions provided for it. Other than those two things, we had a lovely time and enjoyed the house. Unfortunately though we would be reluctant to return in future due to these problems, it was a lot of money to pay to be without hot water.

We were so pleased with our week spent at Can y Mor - it felt like a home from home but more!

It was obvious that someone had really thought about what someone staying there would like / need to make it feel special and comfortable. The location was perfect for shops, restaurants and beaches. We would definitely stay again.

The hospitality provision was disappointing i.

e. there were no teabags, coffee, sugar , toilet rolls and kitchen rolls. There was no hand wash or soap in the sinks Both bath mats were disgracefully filthy. One of the bath towels was torn and two of the hand towels had makeup stains on them that had not been washed out. As we found last year I had to clear the sink drain in the downstairs en-suite as it had difficulty in draining away the waste water!

Great property with all the amenities we needed and the beds were very comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to returning.

We had a lovely week at the house, which is based on an estate used for holiday lets.

We travelled with our 2 year old, the location is amazing for the beach. Lots of helpful things left in the house, including bath toys and things for the beach. The house is very well equipped, there is a Tassimo coffee machine which was lovely.

We really enjoyed our stay and the property was perfect, very clean and in close proximity to lots of fantastic beaches.

We especially appreciated how well it was kitted out for children, which helped make our stay even more comfortable.

We had a lovely holiday and stay in your beautiful clean comfortable home.

It had everything for our little boy. Only down fall was the heater in down stairs bathroom didn't work so bathroom was very cold but didn't stop us enjoying every minute! We had lovely weather aswell and the garden was perfect for relaxing in. Would definitely recommend anyone to book this house great location and plenty around for our little boy!

The heating was not working when we arrived.

Very impressed at how quickly someone arrived to sort it out, and on a Friday evening. The towel rail in the downstairs bathroom did not work, it tripped the heating every time it was switched on and consequently the bathroom was very cold and remained damp after showers. I am saying this to allow the owners to resolve it before the next let. However the house was immaculately clean, very well resourced and wonderfully comfortable and cosy. A lot of love and care has gone into the home. Will recommend to friends and family and return ourselves. Sykes were easy to deal with and fulfilled what was promised. The only negative is that Sykes were offering a discount to teachers but nobody seem to know about it. If you publish any of this feedback only publish the positive part.

This property was spot on, great location for visiting all of Anglesey and North Wales.

Great modern house, well decorated and plenty of space. Very comfortable and everything you could need. Quiet location but not too far away from anywhere. Thank you to the owners for the Welsh Cakes and fresh milk, most appreciated. Highly recommend this property. Will look to revisit.

Beautiful house.

Spacious and very high standard. Just a couple of things I’d prefer, the kitchen is way too cluttered and there’s no cupboard space for food for 6 people for a week. Outside I’d like 6 chairs so every one can sit. The living room needs better lighting as at night it’s nice and cosy but for us crafters there was no option for better lighting ie no lamp. Also a teapot would be good! But they really are just personal preferences, the house was beautiful and I will highly recommend.

This was a great property with everything you need for a family stay with a 3 year old and 1 year old.

The house itself is really spacious and so comfortable. Excellent location. The only thing I would say would be to put a gate on the side so the back garden is enclosed fir the little ones.

A beautiful home.

It had everything we needed and more. Baby gates were complete peace of mind with our 3 year old at night. Comfortable, quiet location, close to beach. Very thoughtful things inc…. Welsh cakes, coffee pods, milk and jam in the fridge and ice packs in the freezer! Only thing I can think of that could maybe be included was a fan ….. only because we were there on the uk’s hottest day on record! We did lots of driving about and Anglesey didn’t disappoint. Our first visit and we have fallen in love with it. We will be looking to book this house again next year. Thanks!

Excellent property, immaculate and very comfortable.

Lovely property within everything we needed and more.

Beds were so comfy! Great location to access lots of lovely places around Anglesey. We couldn’t open the double patio doors and as we’d seen they’d cracked on a previous review we didn’t want to force them too hard.

The property had everything you wanted, it was like home from home.

Only thing we struggled with was how to get the heating to work so it came on first thing in the morning when it was a tad chilly. Great place and very good value for money.

lovely house very clean and new.

Lots of thought put into the contents with everything we needed. the patio door had been broken by someone before us due to a badly fitted glass panel.(not the owners fault). It did not spoil our visit and would come again. Thank you JB Lancashire

The holiday home was one of the best I’ve ever stayed in.

Very well equipped and very comfortable the owners had thought of everything. Nicely situated for exploring Anglesey and north wales.

We had a lovely time at your house, it’s beautifully decorated and it had everything that we needed and more.

It was the perfect layout for us as the downstairs bedroom and bathroom was great for my parents while myself and the children were upstairs. The only thing that was missing was a clock in the living room which would have been handy for cooking times but apart from that you have everything covered. The beds were very comfortable and we would defiantly stay again. I couldn’t quite get enough hot water for a full bath for the children but that may have been something I was doing wrong. A beautiful house in a beautiful part of the world total bliss
