This was our third visit to Tyddyn Mawr.

Having now stayed at each of the three lovely cottages it is difficult to choose a favourite and we look forward to returning in 2027, .

We had a wonderful stay at The Honey Pot in Gwynedd, North Wales.

Russ and Karen were incredibly helpful and friendly, always on hand when needed but never intrusive. The cottage was beautiful, with lovely furnishings and stunning surrounding gardens. It was immaculately clean and incredibly peaceful, even with other cottages on site. It is a fantastic base for exploring Snowdonia and the surrounding areas. We would highly recommend Tyddn Mawr Cottages to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in beautiful North Wales. We would love to return some day.

We had the most wonderful five-day stay and couldn’t have asked for more.

The cottage was spotless, beautifully presented, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The lake was absolutely stunning and made our stay extra special. Our dog, Eli, was in his element, swimming every day, and we loved spending time enjoying the peaceful surroundings and beautiful scenery. The location was perfect for exploring North Wales, with lovely places such as Beddgelert and Criccieth just a short drive away. Our host was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived, and it was clear they genuinely cared about their guests having a fantastic stay. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful escape in a beautiful setting. Thank you for such a memorable holiday—we can’t wait to return!

Lovely hosts and cottage set in beautiful gardens and surrounding.

Very clean and comfortable.

Lovely property in exquisite grounds.

Perfect for us- a couple with an elderly relative with limited mobility. The private patio got sun and shade all day. It was gorgeous sitting out, hearing the birdsong and a babbling brook - like a real-life relaxation tape! The cottage was exceptionally clean, beautifully presented with everything we needed. The owner, Russ, was busy in the extensive grounds most days; friendly but not obtrusive. The lake is exactly as shown in the pictures and there are great views of the mountains.

Honey Pot Cottage is a lovely property in the grounds of Tyddyn Mawr, which includes the owners residence plus two other cottages.

Situated in the midst of beautiful scenery, the whole property is beautifully maintained and is truly a lovely place to stay. I would not hesitate to go back.

We had a lovely stay at Honey Pot cottage, a beautiful well kept location for peace and tranquility.

A caretaker was always available if anything was needed. My husband managed to catch a fish in the beautiful lake on site surrounded by amazing views. We will definitely return......Thanks Russ & Karen

This is a marvellous cottage.

The highest quality in almost every respect. The gardens and surrounding grounds are excellent. A friendly and helpful owner. We were very comfortable and have had a great holiday.

Best cottage we have stayed in,very clean ,comfortable delightful surroundings ,the weather was poor but the holiday cottage was first class,will book again,thank you .

A beautiful group of cottages in a lovely country setting.

The Honey Pot was clean, comfy and spacious. All the facilities and equipment were beat quality and Russ, the owner, was on hand to answer any questions and address minor issues. Nice walks around the beautifully kept small holding with friendly sheep and geese and even canoes and a rowing boat available for the pretty lake. Thanks.

Super host. Lake was a full bonus, children loved it and so did we.

I think this is the best cottage we’ve stayed in, first class attention to detail from the decor, furnishings and appliances inside to the immaculate grounds outside.

Very friendly owners. We hope to return soon. Loved the geese, sheep and especially Arthur and the kittens.

Wow what a fabulous cottage and location!

We’ve had a wonderful week at the Honey Pot - the cottage is just gorgeous and is bigger than what the photos show. We were comfortable in there with 2 adults, 1 teenagers and 2 Labradors. The gardens where the cottage is located are outstanding and very well maintained. Russ was on onsite for any questions and nothing was too much trouble. The location is amazing and close to all the beautiful sites the local area provides. We will be booking again

The cottage was absolutely stunning, lovely and clean, in a gorgeous peaceful setting on the farm.

Great space for us inside the cottage as well as the enclosed outside space, perfect for the two of us humans and 2 dogs. The cottage and the other cottages on site feel like they're in the middle of nowhere, though, that said, it's only 10mins in the car to Porthmadog or Criccieth. It was really nice having the owner on site and around for a chat or advice as well. Looking forward to going again in the future

The Honey Pot was the ideal holiday destination, set in beautiful grounds and Russ the host was excellent.

Absolutely fantastic !

Can't fault cleanliness, and facilities, everything was just perfect. Justy one small criticism - the chairs and sofa, although comfortable are a little low, if you are of a certain age! Otherwise nothing but praise for the accomodation and the owners.

We really enjoyed our family holiday at the Honey Pot.

We was made to feel very welcome by the owners. The accommodation was one of the cleanest we’ve stayed in. We was out exploring North Wales by day and when we returned we was chilling on boats in the lake which is also on site. We would definitely recommend for others to stay here and we shall return in the future I’m sure :D

Another lovely week staying in the Honeypot for a second time (first was 2018) a superb location, the grounds are immaculately kept and owners very friendly.

The sound of a babbling stream and birds twittering outside your door and everything you need for a relaxing week away. Lots of places within easy driving distance too. We have stayed in many cottages over the years but this is one we would definitely recommended.

Lovely place to stay; the cottage and the grounds that we were allowed to explore were very pretty.

Cottage very clean, modern and well equipped. Perfect size for our family of 4 (10 and 14yo) plus a small dog. Owner very friendly and helpful. Close to Criccieth for the beach and we made use of many tourist attractions within half hours drive during the week that we stayed.

Especially loved lake and seeing sheep and geese . Beautifully presented and everything you need for your stay Only wee critic was 3 piece suite to low for my dad and he sat on dinning chair and I would of liked a small area to let dogs of lead to have a run but understand its a working farm with live stock .. Would highly recommend and hope to visit again

Stayed in quite a number of holiday cottages over the years and the Honey Pot stands out above all of them!

Came with a friend and my little Westie. Perfect for dogs, as private courtyard completely enclosed. Nice little dog walk for morning ablutions! The setting is beautiful, surrounded by mature trees, shrubs and plants. The short walk from the car to the cottage is immaculately landscaped. The cottage interior is spot on and very tastefully decorated and furnished. Comfy seating and beds. The lake and surroundings are breathtaking and guests can fish (brown trout), canoe (2) or row (1). Russ and Karen, the owners are so friendly and helpful. Of course, Snowdonia is also very beautiful!! We had good meals in The Goat (just along the road) and The Golden Fleece, Criccieth, but the best meal was in Poachers, Criccieth. There’s a lovely little tearoom by a small lake/reservoir - Llyn Tan-y-graig, Dolgellau LL40 2TA. Need satnav to get there! All of Snowdonia is within easy reach. The Llyn Peninsula is also worth visiting.

Cottage is in a beautiful setting and our dog loved it too! Would certainly recommend it!

The Honey Pot was a truly delightful place to stay, a beautiful setting, comfortable and extremely clean.

There is a Nespresso Vertuo machine in the cottage. There was no cafetière, but Russ, the owner, came to the rescue and found one for us to use. A Clothes airer/ dryer would be most useful, as would a dustpan and brush in the cottage. But these are very small negative remarks. All in all a lovely stay.

We have never been to a cottage holiday before and for our first experience well what can I say !

! Firstly the owners made us feel more than welcome Russ went above and beyond to make our stay memorable . Such beautiful surroundings with there very own fishing lake and natural beauty within a short distance of beaches shops a local pub which we highly recommend called THE GOAT . The cottage was excellent all facilities that you would need and beautifully presented. Missing it so much already .We are looking forward to our stay again next year .

The Honey Pot offered us the perfect little family getaway.

Set against a stunning backdrop with its tranquil lake and Mountain View, it provided both relaxation and activities like boating and swimming. Our kids were particularly fond of bagpuss the cat and resident geese. The hosts couldn’t be any more warmer and welcoming. Truly a memorable stay and we’re eager to return. Definitely recommended.

Wonderful peaceful, secure location and in easy reach of all the beautiful beaches/locations of Llyn Peninsula.

Lovely and peaceful surroundings with garden and lake as well as the geese, sheep etc. Enjoyed every moment and certainly hope to return. Only slight downside for those whose dogs, like mine, can be reactive is that the walk to the lake passes the cottage which can trigger a response (certainly mine are guilty of barking when anyone passes) that could be a problem for other guests.

Just perfect in every way!

Just returned from a week's stay in The Honey Pot.

We have stayed in North Wales for holidays for over 30 years in variety of accommodation types and settings. This very special place has topped the lot. The gardens and surrounding setting are absolutely stunning. Each cottage comes with its own private and enclosed outdoor area which are also very well designed and maintained . Plenty of outdoor seating for all. There is a summerhouse in the shared gardens that offers a beautiful spot near to the stream and offers lovely furniture and a good selection of books and DVDs for guests as well as a picnic basket should you want to take food out. Follow the stream down past the owners geese and less than 100m away there is a stunning lake. Here there are benches, seating and sun loungers placed carefully to capture different views...such as the sun setting over the mountains. On the lake there are Canadian canoes and a large rowing boat. Guests are welcome to use these. We had two wonderful afternoons on the lake and even took our 2 little dogs ( wearing life jackets) into the canoes with us. The cottage is stunning and has beautifully refurbished bathrooms. Kitchen includes everything you need and it's all good quality. Decor is perfect...everything looks fresh and was absolutely spotless on arrival. The TV is a smart TV so if you don't wish to watch DVDs you can download your usual apps and choose what to watch. WiFi is very reliable and speedy. We had a lovely welcome as did our 2 dogs. Owners are very pleasant and attentive but leave you in peace. We loved this place so much that on our 2nd day we booked a week for next year too. Location is perfect..just 10 mins to town and a choice of beaches/ mountain areas just short drives away. One thing that's very different to where we've stayed before: no dusty file stuffed with lists of do's and dont's and a mixture of random, out of date tatty leaflets...thank you to the owners for making such homely cottages filled with quality items. Cannot wait for next time.

Fantastic stay at The Honey Pot the level of comfort and furnishings is some of the best we have stayed at Russ and Karen the owners made our stay perfect from the local knowledge to the lovely items left for us Had brilliant days out at Portmeirion,Betws-y-Coed and Abersoch which are all stand alone places to visit Definitely hope to return cannot give this accommodation enough praise it is perfectly looked after from the gardens to the cottages

Excellent parking and beautiful surroundings. Excellent restaurant down the road and many places to revisit in the area. Having been in lockdown far many months we couldn't believe how lucky we were to get such a good holiday. Can't wait to go for another week!

Fantastic holiday, lovely place.

So peaceful and tranquil and we travelled with a 2 year old!! Karen as a hostess is wonderful. She was able to provide us with info and was around if we needed anything. The cottage was great, all On one level And access to our own little courtyard. A stream, animals and a lake very close by. We hope to be back very soon.

Peace and tranquility

The cottage was superb.

The location is perfect if you want access to the beaches and the mountains. The hosts were friendly but gave us privacy, even offered to take our eight year old to feed the geese and sheep(which he loved). We were extremely comfortable in the cottage. We couldn’t get over what a picturesque setting it was, even on the rainy days.

The cottage was excellent value and the standard was very good.

The cottage was beautifully furnished and equipped to a very high standard, matched only by the lovely grounds and gardens that surrounded it.

On arrival we were welcomed out of the rain into a warm cosy room, and found a bottle of wine, together with a delicious homemade Bara Brith. Towels and bedding were exceptionally good, and we appreciated the nice touch of providing a few toiletries. The pretty enclosed courtyard was convenient and safe for the dog, and parking was easy and close by. The whole house, furnishings and equipment were spotless, with no broken crockery, uneaten food or generally grimy evidence of previous visitors, which is unfortunately rare in our many years of experience. It was a delightful place to stay, and we recommend it without hesitation.

Great location for a quite relaxing chill-out, short drive to all attractions and restaurants, very friendly onsite owners who respect your privacy.

Immaculate cottage in a beautifully secluded location.

Gardens have been lovingly cared for by the owners and fixtures and fittings inside the cottage are of high quality. Owners were welcoming and friendly, they left us a bottle of wine, fruit cake and gave us cucumbers and strawberries from their vegetable garden. Could not have asked for nicer hosts. A lovely relaxing holiday helped by the good weather, wonderful surroundings and welcoming hosts. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

Lovely cottage very welcoming and clean with everything we needed and we had a lovely surprise to find a homemade cake and a bottle of wine we would have been happy with the tea and coffee which was also supplied by the owners.

Our boy's enjoyed feeding the sheep and geese and the owners were very generous as on Halloween the gave them both chocolate. Can't wait to come back again
