Lovely accommodation set in the mountains!

Perfect for getting away from it all with the family with the added bonus of watching the sheep entertain us whilst looking over the bay to Porthmadog. Would not hesitate to revisit!

An absolutely beautiful spot for a break in a wonderful house!

It was warm, clean and so welcoming when we arrived in the dark, wind and rain and the next day, our first look at the setting and views blew us away! Exploring the hills and fields from the house was lovely and the house itself had everything we needed. The road up from Prenteg is definitely hairy but it is such a quiet road we only met another car once in the week, so I wouldn't let that put you off at all - bring supplies with you as you won't be popping out for milk.

The downstairs bathroom/toilets doors could not be locked.

Not one of the 8 of us could get the locks to work

What a wonderful outstanding house, I'm already trying to find reasons to go there again.

When we arrived the power was off and the cleaners advised they couldn't clean fully,you couldn't tell... it was certainly clean enough. The weather was appalling which highlighted a small problem, the doors in the sunroom couldn't keep the rain out, so a bit of mopping was required. The bedrooms were all as expected and cosy and confortable. The kitchen, brilliant, very well equipped, probably the best kitchen I've experienced in a holiday let. Apart from the magnificent property. once the weather cleared the views were wonderful. we all wanted to stay longer

We very much enjoyed this property, the location was amazing, the property was thoughtfully appointed, well designed and modern.

The only small inconvenience item was there was no soaps or detergent provided in most sinks/baths, given the remote location it was not convenient to pop out for these items upon arrival.

We had a wonderul time in an amazing property with outstanding views and would return and recommend it.

There were a few minor issues and suggestions. The first is that water gets into the sun lounge turn rain. There seems to be an issue with the upstairs back toilet after flushing. A larger mat at the entrance door would be useful when returning from walks and muddy boots. Maybe an outside tap/hose would be good for washing wellies and dogs. There was only one log for the fire and it was cold in the evening we arrived and it would have been helpful to tell us where to buy them. The welcome pack had just one of each bin bags, a little washing up liquid and one dishwasher tablet which was a bit stingy in a cottage of this price range, although there was also a bottle of wine. Toilet rolls were in short supply with less than a roll per room. Far cheaper cottages have had much more. The kitchen was very well equipped. (We did break one wine glass- sorry!) The drawer handles upstairs have a couple of dodgy knobs. Great location despite the lanes to it. Lots of walks.

Fabulous property in perfect private setting.

We benefitted from glorious weather - only improvement we could suggest would be better information regarding places to visit / eat etc nearby. Guidebook / folder mainly containing directions to the property a bit odd. Due to online pricing we selected a 4 night stay Mon-Fri as, from memory at least, a Mon-Sat night stay increased the nightly rate which was already at the limit of our budget. Feel like this was a missed opportunity - at no point where we contacted to offer us the extra night; and given the property was then booked again from the Saturday, this left a hole in the planning that you would not have filled. We may have considered it at the same rate, and most certainly would have taken if offered at a reduced rate.

When I contacted sykes cottages, I was told that the property was suitable for a wheelchair user, unfortunately this is not the case, I was expecting a step into the property and I brought a ramp for this, we were not aware of all the steps around the property.

None of the pictures shows this. As to cleanliness, there is a stain on the carpet outside the 1st downstairs bedroom, the conservatory windows have dog nose marks over them. The upstairs bedroom to the right, the door was not on it's hinges properly and both mirrors were loose to the point of almost falling apart. My husband tightened these up and screwed the door hinges back up so the door would fully shut. The blind in the 1st downstairs bedroom is broken, there is a chip out of the wall corner and 1 shelf in the fridge is cracked. This was how we found the property. There was 2 visitors to the property which we knew nothing about, 1 was the builder to change the door handles and then he came back again with a man from the council . A suggestion would be to include a hand rail where the 3 steps are as all our party struggled with these steps. If we had not had these problems it would have been a lovely place to stay in If we

Lovely property and perfect for a relaxing break with great views.

Loved this property.

We came here to be isolated for new year as 3 different families with small children. It was perfect. We chilled, played games and cooked family style dinners for everyone to enjoy. The house is unbelievably impressive on first view when entering and the photos absolutely don’t do the beauty of the place justice.

Beudy Mawr is a beautifully renovated barn, furnished and kitted out to a high standard (just needs a coffee pot/ cafetière).

It was really clean and lovely and warm during the stormy weather we had. Its location is stunning! The views, when the mists cleared, were beautiful. It was great to be away from the madding crowd, but with a town nearby that had all the shops we needed. The access roads were both fine, even the steeper one which we were expecting to be worse from other people’s reviews. We would love to come back and explore more of the area. Thank you

Where do I begin,Beudy Mawr is absolutely stunning in every aspect,the stunning location,the spacious interior,the amazing well equipped kitchen with all you need for a large family gathering .

The bedrooms were comfortable with quality linen,towels and the two upstairs having en-suites with showers . Wether it be having a coffee in the sun room overlooking the stunning estuary views,sitting around the large oak table having a family meal or playing board games or chilling by the amazing log burner this cottage is faultless.I would have no hesitation recommending and hope to return someday:)

Perfect inside and out in every way. A great way to experience remote living for a few days in the beautiful Welsh countryside.

Beautiful barn with amazing views, a gem really.

High quality furnishing. Kitchen well equipped. Fast internet and cows around - sounds like impossible combination yet it's true. The road from Prenteg was challenging but we preferred than the other one. We will recommend our friends. And will be back :-)

Amazing stay at a beautiful property.

High quality finishings throughout, high ceilings. Remote location with stunning views. Not the easiest track to get to the property, but definitely worth it. Two cots provided which was a huge help for us.

This property is absolutely STUNNING!

As soon as we opened the door it had the wow factor. Yes, it is a little remote location wise but the breathtaking views, scenery, cows and sheep more than make up for this. It was such bliss waking up to this every morning. The house itself is gorgeous, decorated to a very high standard with great attention to detail, the owners have really thought of everything you need to make for a relaxing stay. We were not originally meant to stay in this property but so glad we did in the end, I honestly cannot recommend this house enough!! There were 8 of us in the groups and there was sufficient space that didn’t make you feel like you were on top of each other, at any point. The only tiny thing to note, there is not much outside space except a lovely terrace, which is wonderful to sit and watch the world go by. However, be mindful if travelling with children there is no grass or garden, unless you want to go past the fence with the sheep and cows. This a minor thing that should not put you off this property as it is AMAZING!! We will definitely book to stay here again! Thank you to the owner's for giving us a memorable stay x

The house was stunning and beautifully renovated - absolutely NO complaints with the property as it's amazing.

BUT you do need to stress the access is not easy. We are farmers so used to cart tracks, uneven roads etc but the southern access is EXTREMELY steep, narrow and quite hairy to drive up. The northern route is much better - still extremely narrow but at least it's a gentle incline and you can see what's coming more easily. The perils of the access route were only pointed out AFTER I had booked. I just think we would have avoided completely that southern access had we been advised the other route was easier - it might be longer but it's more enjoyable and we only did this for the rest of the holiday. Oh, and two different Sat NAvs gave different locations - one was in the middle of a lake! Stunning views, worth the hike but not for the nervous driver at all! You can slip off the edge of the narrow track if you have to back up as in many places there are bogs on either side!! Plus the track to the cottage, once you have found it, is very bumpy and pot holey - also perhaps not for the less adventurous? As i say, we are used to these conditions, not many people are!! Fab place though - just amazing views - when it's not raining. Oh and you say it's 11 mins to shops but that's only through the southern route NOT the northern. You don't want to find you have run out of milk - it's an expedition to find more!! Saying that, we'd return in a shot!!

A stunning house in a wonderful unique location!

Such a beautiful well thought out conversion - (lovely that everything is still so new (+unused) & shiny. We were all very comfortable and felt relaxed and at home. The views are simply stunning (when its not raining of course!). Even when it's wet and visibility down to zero it is a great place to hunker down and enjoy the sheep, cows and miniature horses - delightful. Many thanks!
