    “Lovely cottage surrounded by amazing scenery.”

    Arrived in driving rain and then had a power cut soon after. As the cottage is fully electric we couldn't cook dinner. Paul came round to check on us and provided us with a flask of hot water so we could have a drink. Torches are available. We just embraced the moment. The bed is huge but not the most comfortable. The mattress probably needs replacing. Lovely shower. Sofa was a little low for our liking but that is probably as we are getting older and the knees complain a bit more than they ...

Very well equipped kitchen. Only thing missing would be some tongs for turning stuff under the grill. We loved taking our late afternoon cuppa in the conservatory with the blinds up to enjoy the view. You need to be comfortable driving narrow lanes and be able to reverse back to passing places. You do start to wonder if you are ever going to arrive but the peace and quiet afforded by its remote location is so special. Lots of birds around. We had a marvellous time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay (except the bed).

Upon entering the property, be welcomed into a conservatory which is perfect for sitting in the warmth during the chillier months and enjoying those stunning views.

Step into an open-plan living space which has been lovingly designed with hardwood flooring, a bright and airy decor and quality furnishings making this the perfect spot to unwind after a long day with the benefit of the woodburning stove.

Find a well-equipped kitchen with all the necessary appliances for some home-cooking and gather with your meals at the dining table with a refreshing glass of wine.

Once the evening draws to a close enjoy the super-king-size bedroom.

After all this sightseeing you can return to Melin Newydd to relax and unwind with your loved ones.

Plas Y Pennant Holiday Cottages

Porthmadog 8 miles. Relax and enjoy the peace, tranquility and ambiance of these three wonderful holiday cottages. Located in a rural and remote location nestled within the beautiful hillside scenery of Cwm Pennant, considered to be one of the most beautiful valleys in North Wales. This delightful courtyard of cottages are situated right next to the owners own home, set in 16 acres of gardens, paddocks and gentle sloping mature pastureland, making an idyllic setting for any countryside retreat. Full of charm and character, every cottage offers a unique holiday experience, whilst each with two bedrooms, a family shower room and a woodburning stove. Each of the cottages also come with their very own private patio with outdoor seating, so you can delight in the unspoilt countryside views as you bask in the sunshine on a warm summer's day. The bustling harbour town of Porthmadog lies on the Glaslyn Estuary and enjoys a stunning setting. The gateway to the Snowdonia National Park, Porthmadog is full of individual shops and restaurants, and home to the Ffestiniog Railway and the Welsh Highland railway where you can travel by steam through spectacular Snowdonia scenery, to Blaenau Ffestiniog or Caerforn . The pretty village of Borth Y Gest, with its cliffs and coves, is a short walk or drive from the town. The well known and unique Italianate village of Portmeirion is just down the coast.
