Hafod Cottage was as welcoming and comfortable as usual.

The fully enclosed garden was perfect for my dog. It was nice to enter the cottage and spot new items added since my previous visit, such as ornaments. I have already booked for next year!

The cottage is perfect for us and our dog as the garden is huge and fully enclosed. The photos in the listing don’t do it justice as the plants are more mature now making it more private. Mandy keeps the house spotless and we had everything we needed. She even left us a pint of milk and some sweet treats. Although it was another week of heatwave the breeze kept us lovely and cool. We enjoyed sitting under the trees watching the birds squabble over the food. Cemaes Bay was never overcrowded and we had delicious fish and chips from the chippy and great burgers from Gadlys Hotel.

Always feel relax and love feeding the birds in the garden, ☺️

Everything about the cottage and garden was superb. Mandy was a very welcoming host and attention to detail was second to none. Cottage well located for touring around the island. Would highly recommend.

Lovely private, quiet and secluded cottage Safe and secure for our dog Well equipped not to far from the beach and local Morrisons in the town 5 mins walk so for us perfec' Gadlys ( or Gladys as we call it ) hotel is fantastic just a short walk from the far side of the bay and across the fields well recommended for a meal n a drink Harbour Hotel closed due to fire at this moment in 2026 2 other pubs available Main shops are a drive away depending what you want ( just google) We tend to go to Llangefni for Asda, Aldi, Lidl, and pet supplies Benlech has a coop, spar, tesco express and pips pet supplies (great) Beaches fantastic still discovering new walks, coves and bays after years of exploring All in all our favourite place on Anglesey only tiny snag ( maybe for some ) it doesn't have a washing machine so back to basics and hand wash everything as the service wash in town ( not a self service washing machine-someone else does your washing for you ) was a bit expensive ( last time we used it last year we got charged for how many items they washed mainly socks, smalls and a few t-shirts hehe) There is a laundrette at the cross roads/traffic lights at valley from the A5 turn off on to the A5025 if its a real problem for you Theres no indoor clothes dryer/airer so on a wet day can be a problem so we bought a folding extendable airer from amazon which just slots into the car no probs as it folds very neat, Also the chairs in the conservatory aren't very comfy for us 'bonybums' hehe (rattan conservatory furniture with thin cushions so we take our own extra cushions to place on top and sorted -these are just a comment not a criticism ) The lounge looks very comfy but we don't use as it looks too nice to have the dog in there ( thinking and considering other people using it too who may not appreciate a dog being in there ) Those small niggles said it has to be mentioned we suggested/requested (after our 1st stay ) for more lighting in the kitchen overhead ceiling and on cooker hood - sorted ✅️, Need kitchens sharp knives- sorted ✅️, new outdoor clothes line -sorted ✅️ new hoover- sorted ✅️, bird bath- sorted ✅️ If you do book ( ya won't be disappointed) please bring lots of fat balls for the birds and they'll show you a good time in reward hehe The owner (Mandy-not on site but at the end of the phone if you need any thing) goes the extra mile to make sure you have a great holiday and delivers, including welcome cakes, milk and treats for your hound, who thought they where absolutely 'woof-erly'

Fantastic garden, lovely cottage.

Consealed tight entrance to driveway. We were in a long wheel base van and struggled to get in and out. It's a 20min walk DOWNHILL to beach. Mattress on double bed has seen better days and could do with replacing. A outside tap tap would be good to water beautiful flowers and refill bird bath and to wash beach equipment. We had to fill watering can from water butt behind pump house. Having said all that we had a lovely holiday and Cemeas bay beach is stunning,.

Our second visit to Hafod cottage and it didn’t disappoint it is ideally placed in walking distance to beach, pub and shops .

This cottage has good views over the surrounding countryside. It is close enough to Cemaes to make it an easy stroll down to the coastal path, but far enough away so that it is peaceful even when the Sun and tourists are out. The village of Llanfechell is less than a mile to the South making it convenient for a walk to explore the two local sets of standing stones - and it has a community run cafe/shop that does great breakfast baps - if you still have room after the tasty goodies ready for you when you arrive at the cottage.

Just returned from another super stay in Hafod cottage.

It's an excellent base to explore the island. The cottage is very well equipped - nice bedding, hot shower, log fire, enclosed garden for the dog, smart TV and good WiFi - and the milk and Welsh treats were very much appreciated. Looking forward to a return visit. Highly recommend

We absolutely loved our stay at Hafod Cottage.

Cosy and comfortable accommodation and perfect for the 2 of us and our little chihuahua! We hugely appreciated the treats for both us and our dog when we arrived. Well equipped kitchen with everything efficient and easy to use. Even a slow cooker which was a perfect size for a delicious curry! The garden is brilliant. Full of lovely plants, bird feeders, and space. But most importantly for any dog owners, it is completely dog proof. Excellent location. We were so relaxed here. Like all the other guests, we would love to return and hope to be back next year. Thank you!

Hafod Cottage was absolutely perfect - the owners could not have done more to make it welcoming - everything was provided even down to milk in the fridge, cakes and dog treats.

A great base to explore the island and its beautiful beaches, a fish and chip shop in town, and nearby hotel for Sunday lunch The garden was very pretty and fully enclosed, so no worries when taking your dog. Distant sea views from the sitting room and conservatory - all in all, a perfect holiday cottage.

I have stayed at Hafod Cottage several times now and it ticks all my boxes for a great place to stay.

The large, secure garden is fantastic for my dog. The gate could do with a bit if attention, as it was hard to close - I don't think it had been used recently. Inside, the cottage is well-equipped, and always has beautiful bedding. As I don't have one, I wasn't sure where to place the dishwasher tablet! There was information about how to use the programmes, but I couldn't see anything about that. The living room can be quite chilly unless you use the log burning stove in addition to the central heating. The armchair is starting to look a bit tired. There was a problem with the boiler during my stay, which was dealt with promptly and efficiently. I hope to visit again soon.

The cottage and the garden were absolutely wonderful.

The weather was fantastic so it was great to be able to sit in the garden, enjoy the plants, the birds and to know our dog was totally safe. Everything was well maintained and attractive. I have mobility issues and found the furniture enabled me to sit, sleep and move around- a first for me in holiday accommodation.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and have already booked for next year.

The dog loved the big, secure garden which is more mature than the photos giving more privacy. The cottage had everything we needed and more and the welcome treats were gratefully received. Cemaes Bay is beautiful and we enjoyed our evening strolls to watch the sun set over the sea. Highly recommend.

A lovely quiet semi rural cottage but close enough for easy access to the village.

A very good base to explore Anglesey. The cottage itself was slightly smaller than we expected but perfectly fine for the 3 of us. We did notice some ants on the kitchen surfaces but we just brushed them out of the way! I am prone to long showers so it was quite wet in the bathroom after my first shower but subsequent showers were shorter and I took the mop in to dry afterwards. We had mixed weather during our stay but when we needed to use the heating it was very easy and heated up very quickly. The garden is beautiful and we loved having the birds on the feeder. I was a little concerned about our dog wandering down the entrance path as this part wasn't enclosed but she was so tired from our beach walks she just slept when we got back to the property. Overall we had a lovely holiday and would book the cottage again.

Wonderful location ,peace of mind that the garden was dog proof after the gate was shut ,lovely garden, and loved watching the birds on the feeder.

Only niggle ,we spent a lot of time in the conservatory and would have appreciated having deeper more comfy seat cushions .Thankyou for the welcome goodies we really enjoyed our stay .

Absolutely amazing stay, second time going, spotless very comfortable, weather was warm and sunny, which made all the difference to a holiday, didn’t want to leave and come home, unfortunately I’d left food and milk in the fridge, so hope it wasn’t a problem for them, will be back hopefully next year if my cancer treatment goes well, thank you for a lovely stay.

Excellent cottage, very comfortable and also quite warm - was chilly outside but we didn't need the log burner.

Garden was secure enough for us to relax while our manic German Shepherd did his own thing and apart from barking at and chasing birds just chilled with his ball while we relaxed on the patio. Cemaes Bay is a nice quiet place, few minutes walk away but the pubs didn't keep to their supposed opening times. Chippy was nice - order by phone then collect. Lots of nice walks, just beware of the sheep...

Really cosy cottage.

Garden was perfect for our inquisitive Cockapoo. With gate closed it was pretty secure. Lovely log burner and we enjoyed sitting in the conservatory watching the numerous birds at the feeder. Shower was a bit hit and miss, not always the warmest. And we would have preferred a washing machine to a dishwasher but apart from this we had a wonderful stay and would definitely return to Hafod cottage. The welcome treats for us and the dog were much appreciated.

This is a lovely cosy and warm cottage in a quiet area of Cemaes, and is ideal for touring the island.

I found everything to be of a high standard: good hot shower, rooms tastefully furnished and the kitchen very well equipped. The milk and treats were much enjoyed - thank you. The enclosed garden (with the gate shut) was great for the dog and the heated conservatory looked out toward Snowdonia with stunning sunrises. The beach, harbour, shops, pub and chippy are just 0.8 miles down the road. (Free carpark in the village). I’d also recommend the local dairy vending machine for fresh milk from a hut near to the Gadlys hotel just outside Cemaes and, further up the road, a visit to the oldest church in Wales. I had a lovely stay here and will definitely be returning - which says it all really. Thank you, Mandy.

When I arrived at Hafod Cottage, it was dark, and part of the path to the door remained unlit when outside lights kicked in, Once inside, the cottage was cold.

While I understand that this was to avoid wasting heat, I had driven through hail and slush, and I was still not warm at bedtime. The milk and sweet treats were gratefully received. The cottage was very clean, comfortably furnished and well-equipped, although there is no longer a DVD player, as far as I could tell. I have previously stayed at Hafod Cottage in the summer, but this was my first winter visit. I managed to use the table in the conservatory during the day, but it got too cold in the evening. I was unable to eat at the table in the evening. A small, portable heater would have been appreciated. There were some instructions for the dishwasher, but I don't have one at home and I wasn't sure which programme to use. Some really basic instructions were needed for people like me! My dog loved the garden again, though so much rain meant my wellies were required to cross the paddock area in order to clean up after him. We both look forward to returning next year, as this is a great cottage in a great village.

Gem of a cottage in a lovely seaside village.

We had a lovely week there and wouldn’t hesitate to go back . It was clean , comfortable and only 10 minute walk to beach , pub and shops. A good base for touring Anglesey.

A beautiful cottage inside and out.

Sun trap gardens outdoor patio table and chairs sat watching the array of birds we have stayed in various cottages throughout all of wales and this one is top of our list to return. Friendly staff wherever we went sea not too far free parking in main village car park. Weather was really hot each day and few showers at night whilst settled on comfortable settee watching Netflix. We left clean and followed instructions. It had everything we needed so thank you Mandy and Mike. 2 happy 74 year olds 51 daughter and Buddy cocker spaniel all contented.

Very clean and comfortable. Beautiful gardens and sitting out area. The owner was very helpful and there when needed. Thr beach, sea and village centre were very close by. Will definitely go back again. Thank you Mandy for the lovely cake on arriving.

A couple of double glazed windows in the conservatory have failed (observation only not a complaint) kitchen lighting poor for evening cooking (cooker hood light inop) driveway and garden sodden. Overall enjoyed our stay and would book again.

Lovely, quiet, peaceful cottage with stunning views and it's own private gated driveway and the garden is huge, the dog loved it.

Every beach/tourist attraction is a straightforward drive, under half an hour away but there is also a local town and smallish beach literally 2 minutes away. The owners left us lovely welcome gifts even treats for the dog and were on hand to help us out with the heating (technophobe here ha) would definitely recommend.

Have stayed here under the previous owner a few times and was delighted to see that the cottage is even nicer now.

(And it was pretty good before!) Just some extra little touches. Kitchen is much better laid out. This is perfect for singles/couples/ small families and very pet friendly. It is such an oasis of peace. Will definitely be back.

Very peaceful and we really enjoyed the lovely garden. Our one request would be the addition of a washing machine. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely love to return one day.

The cottage is very clean, great shower and a truly wonderful relaxing garden ideal for pooches! We found the conservatory very very useful and comfortable in all weather's so didn't need any heating due to time of year! The hosts are lovely providing welcome gifts which was greatly appreciated Caemas Bay is beautiful with lots of coastal walking and beach being an ideal base to explore the island! We will definitely return to the cottage and highly recommend it.

Once again, Hafod Cottage proved to be an excellent base for a summer holiday on Anglesey.

The cottage was comfortable inside, with a good supply of dishes, pans, etc for self catering. The fully enclosed garden was perfect for my dog to entertain himself in, and I spent many happy hours in it too. The only negative point was the damp smell in the bathroom. Some of the guest information could do with updating, because it still shows Covid precautions, and the photos of the property are a bit out of date. A washing up bowl and draining rack would be useful - as a solo traveller I don't normally generate enough dishes to use the dishwasher. Cemaes is a lovely village, which I return to time after time, though I prefer it out of season and quiet. Thank you for another enjoyable holiday.

Lovely garden it was a pleasure to sit in and was also enjoyed by our two Springer Spaniels The holiday was also enhanced by the stunning weather. We initially experienced problems with the TV but after reporting the fact a family member arrived to assist. It was good for a short time but then was very intermittent perhaps due to the weather

Hafod Cottage is a well equipped, comfortable and cosy bungalow.

The gardens are a delight, full of bird life and amazing views. The location is ideal for investigating the area, with coastal walks accessible direct from Cemaes Bay only 10 minutes away. There is a good general store in the village, can recommend the Fish and Chip shop too. The owners left welcome gifts and were available to deal with any queries. A lovely place!

We really enjoyed our 5 day stay at Hafod Cottage.

Fresh flowers in the lounge, milk in the fridge and carrot cake which doubled up as my birthday cake whilst we were there were lovely welcoming touches and our rescue dog was very grateful for his complimentary dog treats and the beautiful garden to run safely round in which we all enjoyed with him. The cottage was nice and warm and the lounge was cosy when the log burner was lit. We do cottage breaks a lot and will definitely stay again but as a suggestion there could do with being a larger pan/cooking pot in the kitchen to cook pasta in, some tongs would be useful in the kitchen utensils jar, a decent non-stick frying pan would also be good and in the double bedroom it would be a good idea to have a small disposable de-humidifier in the window (which can be purchased from any supermarket for a few pounds) as we noticed in a morning there was quite a bit of condensation in that room when we woke up which resulted in the window being wet and black appearing on the walls near the ceiling which vanished by the end of the day after the window had been left open. Also quite a lot of condensation drips off the ceiling in the bathroom onto the floor around the loo area as there was no pole left out for us to open the sky-light window to let the steam out after the 3 of us had showered each day.

Beautifully presented cottage.

The owner was very quick to reply to any emails and the personal touches in the cottage were much appreciated, especially the dog biscuits left for Rosie.

Overall and really comfortable and lovely stay at this lovely little bungalow.

It is so lovely and peaceful and to have parking away from the road and gardens to walk around was an added bonus. I do say that for personal preference my husband and I prefer a firmer mattress and a firmer sofa, but we certainly slept very well so job done and that is simpliy our personal preferences mainly due to back issues. The thoughtfuless and kindness of the owner, with the little added touches made this stay even more pleasant. It was a trip down memory lane for me as I was bought up in Cemaes and used to play around the old Mill opposite as a child - boy did that bring back amazing memories. I would definitely highly recommend this bungalow, perfect for a couple or family of 3 and good spaces if you are dog owner. THANK YOU SO MUCH - AN AMAZING HOLIDAY.

This is my second stay at Hafod.

Really like the location. The bed is still uncomfortable, mattress is way too soft. Would be nice to have a spare sheet and extra towels for 7 days. Since my last visit, the new owners have added nice touches, the furniture has been moved around and feels more homely, the addition of a fridge freezer is a nice touch too, instead of separates. The glass shelf in the bathroom is still not secure, that aside; it's still a cottage I would return to, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Nice to find milk and cake on arrival. Although given directions to the property we drove past it as there was no clear name plate on the gate from the direction we drove. Also the quilt on the bed was very heavy and to warm for a comfortable sleep, but this may be just down to our personal view. However I am sure we will book this cottage again as it was so comfortable.

Set in a nice quiet location, the cottage was very clean and comfortable, with a lovely garden.

It was nice and secure for larger dogs but the gate could maybe be made more secure by adding some netting to stop a smaller dog getting onto the road. A washing machine would have been a benefit - maybe instead of the dishwasher. Beds and seating were comfortable and the conservatory was ideal for eating and relaxing in. There is plenty of storage space for clothes and food. All in all, it is a lovely place to stay and the two of us, plus a dog, settled in very quickly, which is exactly how to start a good holiday.

A wonderful holiday like home from home very convenient to all amenities within just a few miles beach shops and to get all round the island if wanted.

This cottage and its lovely garden were ideal for me and my dog.

It was equipped with everything I needed and the shady areas of the garden were perfect when it was too hot to sit on the beach. The conservatory was extremely hot in the morning, and I know someone else has suggested some shading. My criticisms are restricted to the bathroom, which had a damp smell, despite being clean throughout. The shower had a mind of its own, with the shower head refusing to stay in one place. I think it also needs a rubber mat, as I slipped despite the grab handle. The double bedroom would benefit from a hook on the back of the door, and some wallpaper has come loose. A recycling guide would be useful, since all councils vary, along with a calendar detailing which bin/s to put out when- the household waste bin is only emptied 3 weekly. The owner was quick to deal with a problem, and also arranged to clean and change the bedding at the mid-point of my two weeks' holiday. Treats were left for both me and my dog. Cemaes is a lovely place to stay at the far end of the island, and I am glad I came across Hafod Cottage.

Minor remarks. Found the Duvets rather heavy for time of year, prefer something lighter. Extremely hot in the conservatory would benefit from some shading.

The Cottage is situated on a quiet road, yet within an easy drive to explore the island. The garden was a lovely place to sit and enjoy a coffee whilst watching the birds and the conservatory an added bonus.

Excellent overall, couple of little niggles,nothing to clean shower,wash hand basin with.

No rubber shower mat.For me a disabled person the shower tray was a nightmare it was so slippy when wet.Only ONE J. Cloth to use in kitchen sink.we don't always use the dishwasher.Only one tourist pamphlet, usually there are loads to read.But the owner is new to Hafod cottage.

A cosy cottage in a location on the outskirts of Caemes Bay.

Garden was a real plus as it is totally secure once the gate is closed and great for dogs. The garden is also mature so plenty of colour. The cottage generally was fine with comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and nice little touches including welcoming gifts, tor hrs in drawers etc - thoughtful owners. The conservatory made a welcome location for meals and general sitting down adding to the size of the cottage.

Perfect for three an a dog. Great base to explore the entire island. My only suggestion to make an extended stay even better, is to get rid of the dish washer and replace it with a washing machine. Other than that, perfect!

Cottage is very clean, cosy and has all modern facilities with everything you need including a welcome pack of free range eggs, milk, cake and scones. Very safe garden fully enclosed for dogs and plenty of space for parking. 15 min walk to the village where there are 3 pubs, cafe, shop, butchers chemist etc, all very handy. Thankyou to Mandy for the welcome pack we received and the treats for our dog Tammi. The cottage was well equipped and we enjoyed sitting out on the patio having our breakfast on a couple of days, watching the birds in the lovely garden. We loved waking into the village of Cemaes and bought meat, sausage and bacon from the butchers there which was excellent. Worth a visit too is the little cafe where we had coffee and delicious homemade cake. Tammi was given doggy treats too. I would certainly recommend visiting Cemaes Bay and Hafod Cottage- a lovely holiday made perfect by the glorious weather.

The cottage is beautiful and has everything needed. The lounge is nice and cosy, the kitchen is modern with everything you need. Both bedrooms are light and airy and beds very comfortable. The bathroom has a fabulous shower The conservatory has lovely views of the gardens, the countryside and the sea. The cottage was immaculately clean throughout. There is a large secure garden, perfect for my dog. There is a driveway and space to park cars. The position of the cottage is ideal, peaceful and quiet but within short walking distance of the village and the bay. I will most definitely be looking at booking Hafod Cottage again this year.

Perfectly placed for walking the top of the island. Short walk to the village with store and pubs.

Can’t really fault it apart from the beds, it was nice to have eggs and milk left by the owner on arrival

Hafod cottage is a nice, little place with a lovely garden.

There are things that could be addressed however. The handle on the bathroom door is practically falling off and the door could do with having a bolt fitted. The cooker works fine but the signage is badly worn. For any dog owners, there aren't walks from the door, it leading onto a road with no pavement. The thing that annoyed my wife and I the most however, was the request to take our 'dog poo' into the village. Not the most dog friendly cottage we've been to.

Had a really nice time at Hafod cottage really good location and views lovely, very relaxing and nice distance to Cemaes bay to walk too (if problem walking it is on a hill)
