Bangor Cottage

Absolutely fantastic stay!

The photos on here do not do the cottage justice, it's huge! Absolutely everything we needed for a fantastic stay. Owners were lovely, Ron was really helpful and gave us a tour round when we got there. 100% recommend:)

Very nice property in a good location.

Very spacious accommodation with good facilities i.e. kitchen and bathroom etc. Handy private parking space outside property entrance. Only minor fault was some things suffering from wear and tear including wardrobes and sofas.

Although we found Bangor itself to be disappointing the property was perfect for our visit.

Located on the outskirts it was an ideal base for visiting all attractions on the north coast of Wales and Anglesey either by car or public transport. The property was clean and comfortable with the owners next door if needed.

Cottage was very big and had everything you could need. Only three and a dog in our party, but more than enough room for 6. Our time there was lovely and would definitely return x

Property is bigger than you think from the photos and has everything you need for a lovely stay, including generous sized bedrooms each with their own wardrobe.

Location great for getting into town and especially if you have a child at Uni like we did. If I had to find a negative (a very small one) it would be only one toilet/bathroom which was challenging.at times (but we coped ☺️) and if you have a bigger car the parking is really difficult but just takes a bit of patience and manoeuvring. All in all a really pleasant stay.

Ron and Glen are the perfect hosts.

They are very friendly and ready to help in every way. We particularly like the dining room which was very light and airy and has wonderful views of the mountains and Puffin Island in the distance. The approach is a bit tricky at first with quite a steep hill but we had checked it out on Google World Street view which helped a great deal.

A lovely spacious bungalow with everything we needed to keep 4 adults, 2 children, a baby and a Labrador happy for the week.

The private, enclosed garden allowed Oscar the Lab to wander safely. Owners very friendly and helpful.

A very comfortable house, plenty of room, fantastic views.

Older style property, but provides everything you could need.

Nice kitchen and through diner, nice lounge and 4 very good bedrooms. 2 doubles and 2 singles. Only having 1 toilet / bathroom may prove challenging in a morning if there 6 of you staying, but for us, it was fine. Lots of outside space too, including a washing line at the back. The price for a week was exceptional value. Bangor high street is very long, so even though you reach it quite quickly from the property, its a good 20 to 25 minute walk to Asda, Morrisons, Wetherpoons, etc. The bus station and central square is 15 minutes or so. I would certainly recommend it as a handy base for the Snowdonia mountain range, Llandudno, Menai Bridge and Anglesey, Caernarvon and beyond. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Perfect for self catering if that's what you wish. Access to the property is the only negative I would highlight. The road entrance itself is quite difficult to find until you know where it is, and once found, there is a very steep narrow hill to be negotiated. This is used by the houses in the vacinity and the golf course, so is surprisingly busy. Its best to check on the corner (by the memorial) before attempting to ascend. Coming down is somewhat easier, but again difficult is something is coming the other way.

A lovely, spacious cottage in the heart of Bangor.

Close to all amenities and sights. Well appointed and stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We were welcomed by the owners who live next door. Only niggle was that the cottage is situated next to a public path - seemed to be lots of foot traffic at all hours. Had a couple of boys knock the door and run away when the double gates weren't secure. We kept blinds down on windows overlooking the path. Toilet was not flushing consistently either.

The house was easily big enough and had stunning views over the bay. We had a really good time.

I think he already knows my feeling about the games with his heating toy, turning down whenever he feels like it via his phone app.

I may be elderly but definitely not unaware of his games. Must be short of something to do. I would not recommend anyone going there if they feel the cold. 20% seemed to me and. British Gas to be the correct temperature for this time of the year.

We were pleased with the bungalow, but on Thursday, the heating was fixed at 16 degrees, and we could not put the heating on.

Therefore, my father, who is disabled wanted to go home due to the bungalow being cold. Unfortunately, this ruined our holiday.

We all enjoyed our time at the cottage, location was good, cottage was comfortable, we enjoyed the outside areas.

A very comfortable property located within easy distance of Snowdonia National Park and the Isle of Anglesey.

A lovely warm, clean, spacious, comfortable property and well equipped, I'm not a dog owner and wondered if I would find it "doggy", but due to the excellent cleaning it wasn't.

Spectacular views over the mountains from the dining kitchen. Single beds are more suited to children than adults, due to the mattresses. It is up a short single track road. From an access point of view there is one step into the porch and another one into the bungalow, then level inside, there is a shower stool as well, which was useful. Lovely hosts, would recommend, thanks for a lovely holiday.

Lovely homely feel and large rooms.

Children all very comfortable with a bedroom each. Had everything we needed for a relaxed stay and good location to use as a base to visit beaches, Anglesey, and to climb Snowdon. Beautiful part of the world. Looking forward to our next visit!

Our holiday was amazing with the extended comfort of the cottage, this is a great place for dogs, ours thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor, secured area.

Hospitality was above and beyond. Big thanks to our hosts. We certainly will return.

Had lovely time but needs some up dating , kitchen cupboard falling of ,garden bench rotten fall apart when sat on swing needs some attention .

grandson went to swing posts lifted up out of the ground dangerous. We did enjoy the cottage and is very roomy, Location excellent people lovely . Needs some enproments.

Ron and Glen greeted us and gave us a lovely warm welcome whilst giving us a tour of the spacious cottage. The cottage is positioned perfectly to visit all Bangor has to offer and central to the parts of Wales and Anglesey we wanted to explore. We would highly recommend a stay and look forward to returning in the future

A beautiful cottage in a great location, a short walk from the shopping centre and a short drive to many attractions and beaches.

The owners had thought of everything and we very quickly felt at home in the cottage. The cottage was spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable. It was the little things that impressed me like leaving us some milk in the fridge so we could have a brew after a long drive, leaving a good selection of DVD movies, leaving a selection of games and jigsaws for the kids, leaving soap in the bathroom, lovely good quality towels. Like I said, we just felt at home very quickly and will definitely be coming back - thank you :-))

We were warmly greeted by our lovely hosts Ron and Glen even though it was quite late when we arrived.

They live next door and looked out for us arriving. We were given a tour of the 4 bedroomed property which was very clean, spacious and warm and didn't take us long to settle in. The garden was perfect for our 2 dogs and well secured. Only one improvement I'd recommend is in the single room next to the living room which would probably be better suited with a small double bed as ample room for one. It was the perfect base for us, we walked to the Menai Bridge, visited Bangor Pier and the stunning Aber falls, popped over to Llandwyn in Angelsey and walked to the lighthouse, visited Llandudno's Pier and shopping centre which is huge. The weather on the whole was great. Lots of pubs and restaurants are dog friendly and even bring a bowl of water over for them. We visited the Bridge Inn, Antelope Inn, The Castle, Tap and Spile (but now got a new name) with a chippy attached, the cafe on Bangor Pier and The Skerries. We would highly recommend this lovely house and great for visiting the many nearby attractions. Thank you for having us.

Absolutely gorgeous place, stunning views, amazing little things we wasn't expecting like dvds, toys, milk, butter, Welsh cakes etc in fridge.

Well maintained cottage next to the owner's home.

Very nice garden (if the weather had been better). Good shower. Good kitchen. The mattresses were on the firm side but we got used to them. Centrally placed for visiting many attractions and walking in Snowdonia. Convenient dog walking path past the front door, which could lead right down to Bangor if you wanted it to.

All was as described and we had a very relaxing two weeks.

We were two adults, three children- who all had their own room, and a dog. A great location and the house had plenty of space for the five of us. No issues while we were there and the owners were very helpful. Would be happy to stay there again.

We had a lovely three-night stay at Bangor Cottage.

Our hosts couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming, and provided for our every need. We would return without question should we visit the same area again.

Really nice, very quiet & all on one level,well maintained, and private off street parking on property, very thoughtfully laid out garden, with two seating areas, very dog friendly, Nothing no were is perfect !

! It is up a pretty steep hill from the A55 out off Bangor, no problems if you have your own transport but possibly hard work for walkers,pram pushers etc Bearing this in mind it is off to one side of Bangor town, check the map ! And make sure you always open the RIGHT HAND front gate first!! ,If you open left side first the right side swings open & across the drive with some force, remember!! But possibly the best views of Snowdonia mountain tops from the lovely dinning room We soon settled in and really enjoyed our stay. P/s We parked in ASDA almost every morning while we went to Turkish in high street for breakfast no problems Enjoy Bob & Pauline

We were able to have a wonderful trip to north Wales thanks to the availability of Ron & Glenys’s lovely hideaway cottage.

Ideally placed for local amenities and exploring the wider area. The area was quiet and relaxing with local walks from the doorstep for our dogs first thing in the morning. The cottage was exactly as described and had everything we needed. The beds were extremely comfortable and felt just like being at home but without the normal chores. I would fully recommend a stay and if I’m in the area again it will be top of my list. Local Chinese ‘Hi Bangor’ excellent food well worth a try. We explored the local area With the pier being worth a visit. Thanks again for being welcoming hosts.

Thank you for letting us stay, we loved the property and its location couldn't have been better.

Our only one improvement would have been a bath instead of just a shower as it wasn't suitable for the baby.

Owners very welcoming as was the bungalow.

A lovely few days stay with in-laws and hubby. Couldn’t find any faults. Heating was on constant so didn’t feel cold at all. Would highly recommend. Only issue is steep hill upto the bungalow if you have elderly people staying but if you’re not planning on walking and using car then there’s no problems.

the cottage was spot on would have liked some milk in the fridge and some goodies other guests had according to the feed back but other than that the we really enjoyed our stay its a shame we never met the owners as they were away

Lovely cottage it really was home from home, plenty of room for everyone we had 5 adults and 2 dogs and still managed not to fall over each other.

Lovely secure garden for dogs. Easy enough to find but don't look for Bangor cottage as the name on the front says Pen y Bryn cottage. Ron and Glen next door are the perfect hosts. If your looking for a dog friendly pub to eat in we recommend The Tap and Spile down by the pier. Cottage really is in the ideal spot for exploring North Wales.

Absolutely love this little tardis small from the outside unbelievable how big and spacious it was x very satisfied with our home from home x dog friendly we couldn’t ask for more x the owners lived next door and were very friendly and helpful with their knowledge on sightseeing x most definitely return x only one thing wrong but this was our fault x plan trips out in advance We’ve never been to Wales before so had no real knowledge of where the attractions were x and therefore cannot thank the owners enough for their help ?

I had 3 men working in Bangor for 5 weeks, working from home can be difficult, the comfort of the accommodation was excellent, the facilities available where very good, all this combined with the lovely people who own the property made it easy for the lads to relax enjoy the surroundings, the results were positive to my business as the lads preformed well on there project with glowing report from client, I would recommend Bangor Cottage to all and wouldn't hesitate in rebooking, Kind Regards Steve Hill

Bangor Cottage was perfectly located for exploring North West Wales and Anglesey.

It was very spacious, warm, clean and comfortable. It was well equipped. The owners, Ronnie and Glen, were friendly and welcoming.

Lovely Cottage and ideal location to get around to lots of places in North wales and over to Anglesey.

Cottage felt like home from home and the dogs loved all the space inside the cottage to roam around and all the enclosed grass area around the cottage. Highly recommended.

We found the cottage as described with large tv nice hot shower, and nice cumfy beds.

Washer and dryer were good because the weather was not too good. We found the leather settes not very computer we both had back ache at the end of each night. The drive up to the cottage is quite steep and as we were pulling a trailer it was a bit hairy to say the least. We bring our own towels but did not bring oven gloves, so ended up with burns on my fingers the owner said she would have to buy a new pair each week !! I don’t think that would be too much to say we paid over £500 for the week in October.

Spacious, comfortable accommodation, Ronnie and Glen very welcoming. They seemed to think of everything for your stay. Very close to Bangor. Great place to explore from.

Owners lived next door and were welcoming and friendly, the cottage itself was absolutely brilliant lovely large rooms all white goods there to use towels & bedding.

Soon as we arrived it was very homely and comfortable. Outside there is a lovely secluded garden. Fantastic base for visiting the area would highly recommend

An additional toilet would make it perfect for a larger family /group staying in the cottage.

Accommodation easily held 2 dogs & 6 Adults. But only 1 bathroom with the toilet in the same room was a challenge at peak times! Would still go back though for sure! Home from home :)

Great cottage - much larger than expected.

Hosts were very welcoming and had left some butter, milk and Welsh cakes for us. Kitchen well equipped and the beds very comfortable. We had a lovely long weekend exploring the area, I only wish we had longer! Thank you Ron and Glen.

Beautifully spacious cottage with everything that you need.

Very comfortable beds and well stocked with all the kitchen utensils you need. Glen and Ron welcomed us when we arrived and showed us around the cottage. Friendly hosts and although they live next door they did not intrude on our holiday at all but we knew where they were should we need them. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to explore North Wales. The cottage is suitable for just a couple or a large family as there are 4 bedrooms and plenty of kitchen, dining room and living room space to accommodate large groups. We will definitely be back

The cottage was better than expected, the size of this place is amazing, plenary of room for everyone.

The facilities were spot on, very clean and we were left to enjoy our holiday, even though the owners lived next door, which is reassuring if you need any help. Would recommend this cottage to anyone that wants to get away for some piece and quiet.

We had a marvelous time here.

We really appreciated all the little touches like milk, tea bags and dog bowls that were there. It was very comfortable and clean and we throughly enjoyed ourselves.

Interior a little tired in places but location excellent for walking in to Bangor and onr of tue reasons we chose it as had two teenagers who could walk i to town to shop, eat or go to the cinema. Three seating areas outside as well as a lawned area. Owners live next door. Not intrusive very friendly and there was milk, butter and welsh cakes on arrival. Lots of places to see including Anglesey, Llandudno and Penrhyn Castle national trust is 5 min drive and can be seen from the cottage. Cottage on a no through road so quiet, well equipped though would have appreciated oven gloves, very spacious and well layed out.

Perfect, very large spacious cottage, everything you could possibly want, clean very comfortable, with Ron and Glen being the most friendly hosts.

The cottage was in a good location for what we wanted to do.

The cottage is up a steep hill so bear this in mind if you walk into the town. It was clean and well equipped and Ron & Glen (the owners) were very friendly and helpful. We would recommend this cottage.

It was a nice and unexpected large cottage, very well situated for holidays in North-West-Wales.

The hosts are very friendly and we had a very good time. The only negative thing to mention is that the kitchen was equipped rather barely for a party of 5, for the rental price given an automatic dishwasher should be expectable also.
