Hen Stabl is ideally situated for visiting the area.

Everything was as the listing, very clean and comfortable and the owner was friendly and helpful. The views from the cottage across to the mountains are stunning.

We had a lovely week at Hen Stabl.

The cottage has a fabulous view, which was impressive in rain, sleet and sun! Lovely to sit out and see the view and the cows coming to say hello. The local town has some great independent shops, plus eateries, and the coast and mountains are easy to reach. We had some great walks and meals out. Just agree with previous reviews that the bathroom window wouldn't close properly (only an issue when windy) and the sink plug gets stuck. Perhaps some good wine glasses would be useful. We would highly recommend Hen Stabl. Thanks!

Hen Stabl is a spacious, warm, comfortable and cosy cottage with a truly stunning view.

It has everything you could need for a wonderful holiday and is perfectly located to make the most of all the attractions that Eryri, the Conwy Valley and the coast of North Wales has to offer. The kitchen, in particular, is extremely well-equipped and the friendly owners had left a lovely little welcome pack, which was much appreciated. It is best to park at the side of the cottage and use the back door, rather than the front door. Just one suggestion: perhaps a lamp in one or both of the empty corners in the living room would improve the lighting options. The listing on Sykes Cottages is accurate and we very much enjoyed our stay in this happy, homely cottage. Thank you!

Lovely cottage and a great base for exploring this beautiful part of Wales.

Welcome pack was a nice touch and the owners were fantastic. Log fire was easy to use and the cottage has a well equipped kitchen. Could not fault the accommodation and would certainly recommend to others.

An amazing place to stay with beautiful views of the mountains.

We felt very relaxed and comfortable in Hen Stabl.

The property description does state that the cottage is on an old farm and so it is.

The old farm buildings are virtually derelict and the cottage exterior looks a little tired. This does detract from the first impression. However do not be put off. Once inside the cottage it is very clean, well furnished and everything you might need for self catering is provided. Make your way in to the lounge and you will see a fantastic view over open countryside to distant mountains. The view can be enjoyed from a small elevated decking furnished with seats and a table. Peace and quiet a plenty. Two points we would mention - try as we might we could not open the bathroom window and the bathroom basin could do with a new plug. The welcome pack was very generous and much appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay.

Absolutely loved our stay at Hen Stabl.

Me my mum and my children stayed for 3 nights and it was perfect for all 3 generations. The kids absolutely loved the garden. It was so beautiful and homely. So clean too. Had everything we needed. Hope to stay for longer in the future. The only thing I'd do differently next time would be to book directly through the owners rather than having to deal with Sykes Cottages

Have an interest in property and it's repurposing.

Really impressed by the transition from stable to holiday cottage by speaking to the owners. Ideal base to see the local area. Spectacular view of Eyri. The cottage is well laid out and furnished. The owners El and Ed were perfect hosts and we really enjoyed talking to them. Would love to return. Can't provide a better recommendation than that really.

Our family had a lovely stay at Hen Stabl.

We were familiar with the area and we were very happy to have that beautiful view for a whole week. The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable, cosy, bright and airy, and has a happy feel about it. We would point out that the single rooms are a bit small for adults, in particular one of the beds is made rather short by a foot board, but our grown up young people rose to the challenge with a laugh. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that we were unaware of the traffic noise from the nearby road....perhaps in summer it would be more noticeable, with windows open and sitting outside. However, sitting on the decking looking at that view can't be bad! We would happily return.

Beautiful property with very pretty views.

Extremely well equipped home with everything we needed in the kitchen. The double bed was quite hard so we struggled with that a little but overall a lovely break.

It was a fantastic short break with Hen Stabl.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. Only one criticism, the double bed mattress was of poor quality but apart from that a great holiday.

The location is perfect as a hub for all the things we wanted to do (betws-y-coed 10mins, cadir idris 1hr, angelssey 1hr). The cottage felt like a home from home and came with superb views of the hills and valleys. All the facilities and rooms are significant size and we just loved staying in the amazing cottage. We’ll definitely be returning to Hen Stabl

We had a wonderful stay in this cosy, warm cottage.

The views from the cottage were amazing overlooking lovely fields and sheep. The kitchen was the best equipped kitchen we have ever had in a holiday let. The local area was beautiful as well and everything was in easy driving distance.

Superb views from comfy warm cottage. Owners were available had there been any problems ( no problems!) or for advice but we're not intrusive. Would love to come back again.

We had a lovely holiday staying at Hen Stabl it was in a great location and had the most amazing views which were hard to leave.

Cottage was very clean and very well equipped with every thing you could need even had air fryer which was handy.The owner Ed was next door if needed who was friendly. We were unlucky with the weather so didn't sit on outside decking but still visited some great places.Would definately recommend staying here and the roads for driving around were nearly empty.North Wales is beautiful and would love to return again. 21st -28th Sept Linda and Mick.

We had an amazing break in this delightful cottage.

The views were amazing, the kids enjoyed the outdoor space and the friendly chicken. The house was so clean and pleasant, it had everything we needed. Ed and El were so friendly and helpful! The location was fantastic for accessing the beaches and mountains. Couldnt have asked for a better stay!

We had a wonderful family break away.

The cottage is in a lovely spot, very private yet all of north Wales is easily accessible. The views are incredible all day whatever the weather. The kitchen is very well equipped and was left a lovely gift basket. The lounge was comfortable and cosy with incredible views and double doors to decking. TV was great internet speeds were v important to us, it's fullfiber and we were getting a reliable 75mbps. The bedrooms are cosy lot sofa storage but the mattresses were a little too hard for us. We briefly met the owner who was unobtrusive and very friendly. We loved the pet chicken who visited daily.

We had the perfect stay here.

The location is great, only 10 mins to a town with shops, restaurants and take aways (the chip shop is ace, you can order online as it gets super busy at times due to the quality) but remote enough to be very peaceful and once evening sets in, very quiet and almost no light so great for seeing the stars. During the day the views are immense, looking over the peaks of Eryri national park. Although we had plenty to do, simply sitting on the balcony reading and taking in the views was equally enjoyable. Within 40-50 minutes are a huge array of activities, from National Trust houses to beaches, museums to zoos. So much so that despite holidaying in North Wales many times we noted a number of places to visit on our return. And I'm sure we will return because on top of all the above the house is comfortable, well laid out with everything we needed to make for a perfect break. Oh, and you get a warm welcome from a friendly chicken to boot.

A lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings.

Perfect location for days out to Betws-y-Coed, Llandudno and Caernarfon. The view from the garden is stunning and the outside space is perfect for active children. Hen Stabl is equipped with everything you need to have a fabulous holiday!

Hen Stabl is a charming place to stay, in such a lovely setting.

The owners were so friendly and helpful, attentive but not intrusive. Lovely welcome pack was much appreciated. The view from the deck was stunning, so made for a really restful stay. The location was perfect to explore North Wales, so would highly recommend.

The Sat Nav takes you to the property before, not an issue if you read instructions.

The property is indeed on a bend so you have to be a little careful depending on traffic, however duly arrived , first thing to greet you through the door is the smell of the toilet as the week went on with window open and door shut not really a great issue. The kitchen was light airy, well equipped except for no baking tray if you want to cook pizza, we washed up by hand didn't use the dishwasher! why would you with such a dynamic view, coffee machine (dolce gusto) a big tick, washing machine good too; back door to decking and to bins, recycling was well done, easy to follow. The lounge basic but comfortable, we didn't use the log burner although was set up to go! The T.V .limited as free view would have be nice to have smart T.V to cast too but what the hey your on Holiday. The patio doors on the other hand a potential to cause harm the right one drops as does the left but not quite so far, I think they need attention and a notice to warn people until there fixed. All the beds are rather hard initially with the front single apparently on an angle, after a few nights most of us got used to them, the shower room / toilet is adequate to keep your self clean. the fan can be a little noisy but you can override it. The stairs creak quite a bit so if your a light sleeper you will be woken, all in all it is a great repurposing of an old stable we enjoyed our holiday being central to all the places in North Wales, Anglesey, Holy Island The owners are inobtrusive which is great, but they are there if you need them Diolch yn fawr iawn

Hen Stabl was a real home from home (though with a much better view!

). Nice layout of rooms, comfortable, cosy and very well-equipped. A good location for exploring the region, and peaceful when you come back. Ed and Eleanor are there if needed, and have plenty of local information. If the weather's bad you could just relax and stare over to the peaks of Snowdonia, which look different according to the weather and time of day. Sometimes it's almost a shame to leave the house and go out for the day. The town of Llanrwst has most of what you need in terms of supplies, and also has eateries, but the view from the kitchen window makes cooking a very pleasurable alternative. Thanks. The cottage is comfortable, clean, very well equipped and in a stunning setting.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet afforded by its rural location with fabulous views of the mountains. A very relaxing spot. It is well situated to get to the coast to the north and west and some great walks in the forest and mountains. Magnificent sunsets.

Great location.

Excellent property. Everything we could possibly want. We were greeted by Ed who was a friendly chap. Both Ed and Eleanor were 100% none intrusive which we appreciated. The property is a fantastic conversion of an old stable. As a couple it was a very good choice. A home from home, very comfortable and a great base to explore the surrounding area around Llanwrst. This is our third visit.

We love the cottage with the beautiful views and the peace and quiet it gives you. The cottage is located in a great spot easy to get to the coast and have always found it warm, cosy and comfortable. Eleanor & Ed are a lovely couple, not intrusive but there for you if you need them. I would definitely recommend it for a get away from it all holiday. You don’t have to step out of the door with those magnificent views. Kath & Alan.

Really enjoyed our stay lovely cottage however some negatives that need to be addressed, both single mattresses were lumpy and uncomfortable, and the frying pan was not usable, both items need replacing.

Also more towel rails needed in the bathroom.

Possibly the best holiday cottage we have stayed in.

Comfortable, clean, cosy and very well equipped and in a beautiful setting. Even on the very wet and windy day of our holiday we could sit in the lounge and enjoy the view from the window of the sheep in the fields and on clearer days we could see the mountains in the distance. We also enjoyed a couple of beautiful sunsets. It is well situated for visiting Snowdonia and the coast. We would love to go back again.

This property was very good.

It was spotlessly clean, the kitchen was great and so was the living room. The views from the bedroom windows were to die for. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the cottage to everyone .

We had a wonderful stay beautiful location lovely cottage.

Cleaning was good we had lots of cobwebs been there for a while. We also struggled to cook food as there wasn’t a lot of pans only 2 no casserole dishes etc need to stock up as when we’re away I usually take my slow cooker. Just a lack of cooking facilities but apart from that we loved it there as a family we will be going back

The holiday cottage was very clean and tidy providing everything you need for your stay.

It is in a lovely, quiet and peaceful location with lots to see and do in the area. The owners were very helpful and the goodies left in the cottage were tasty.

A delightful home for the week.

The house was spotlessly clean and had everything that we needed for a comfortable, relaxing break. It is situated in an idyllic spot and is also a perfect base to explore the many hikes, villages and attractions from. We particularly liked our daily ‘visitors’ , the owners three hens, who would be at the front door to welcome us home. We would highly recommend this home .

what a lovely cottage, loved the quiet and the views, sadly our son passed away and we had to cut our holiday short, but the owners were lovely and understanding and even sent flowers, when the time is right we will defo go back, but will leave it a couple of years.

Hen Stabl is an exceptional place to stay - excellent facilities, spotless, wonderful views and great location. Friendly and helpful owners who we had the pleasure to meet. Lots of literature in the house with places to visit and a surprise welcome box of goodies. All added to an excellent holiday.

Weather was awful floods skips with furniture in them from the nearby towns devastated for the locals but the cottage was a great haven from the storms couldn't fault it warm clean comfortable owner friendly would love to go back in better conditions thanks to all at Sykes and at the cottage

Lovely cottage in peaceful surroundings.

Friendly owners nearby if necessary. Cottage was warm and cosy with excellent facilities. Lovely comfy lounge with fabulous views. DVD player as well and some dvds, and some kids books too. Very well equipped kitchen with a brilliant cooker and dishwasher. High chair provided which was good too. Dolce gusto coffee machine as well - wish I’d known this as I would have brought pods from home. Bedrooms were lovely and beds were comfy. Loads of cupboard space. Dressing table area with hairdryer in the master bedroom which was a nice touch. Big bathroom which was good space wise. Big shower cubicle and water was hot although not very powerful. A bath would have been useful for small children staying there and bath mats would be handy too as once you open the shower door the water drips all over the floor. Plenty of towels provided though. All in all a lovely few days away, despite Storm Dennis!! Will hopefully be returning soon. Thank you.

Absolutely stunning property.

So clean, warm and cosy. We watched the sunrise over the mountains in the morning and it’s was beautiful. The views are stunning! We will all be coming back here. One of our favourite places we have stayed in.

Very cosy cottage, beautifully furnished, fantastic views from rear windows.

The only "problem" we had was with the mattresses on the single beds, which our 80 year old bones found most uncomfortable due to feeling the springs. However, as we only needed one of these beds, we used the duvet of the other one as a mattress topper. All in all Hen Stabl was a lovely holiday home to come back to each evening and we would stay there again.

This cottage is perfect and the owners have created a home from home, highly recommended.

We are likely to go back sometime in the future.

The views were mountain stunning, morning and night and the deck a lovely spot to sit and take it all n. The cottage was warm and very comfortable, with everything that we needed to make it a fantastic stay. We loved every thing about it. The owners were friendly, all in all a great place to stay.

The views were wonderful from the decking and the cottage was well kitted out. Within easy distance of llandudno and conwy, and a bit further the other way to porthmadog.

TV not needed, could sit and watch the landscape for hours! The cottage had everything (including a whisk for making pancakes on shrove Tuesday!) and everything was immaculate. We couldn’t have asked for more!

On first entering this cottage and seeing the view through the french doors it was "WOW!

" Nothing changed from there on. The whole place was fresh and clean. light and airy. The furnishings were great. Couches that you wanted to slump into and beds that you wanted to jump into. Really comfortable. Toilet and shower were absolutely spotless, as was the kitchen, and the kitchen appliances were outstanding. Built in fridge, freezer, washing machine, really modern stove and hob. Television the size of an upturned pool table, wood burning stove and free wi-fi what's not to like? This isn't a home from home because I don't have this much at home. What do you mean would I come again? I am not leaving! Let's see them get me out.

Well equipped and comfortable cottage

A very comfortable three bedroom farm based cottage, the owners were very friendly and helpful and have kept the property in lovely condition.

Llanrwst is a good location for exploring North Wales and Snowdonia in particular. Betws-y-Coed is just 4 miles away and was a crossroads for exploring the valleys by car while viewing the mountains, rivers and lakes on the way to our various destinations.

This is an excellent cottage in a lovely location.
