“We loved staying at Simdda Wen, from the first time we walked in.”

The heating was on, we felt right at home and really appreciated the extras the owners had left. It meant we could just start our holiday the moment we arrived. The facilities in the house were great. We didn't want for anything. Loads of kitchen equipment, oodles of hot water, comfy beds, good selection of entertainment extras (TV/wi-fi/games/books/maps). The pub is a short walk away, was very friendly, and served nice food. The weather was hit and miss but we braved it, to enjoy some ...

The pub is a short walk away, was very friendly, and served nice food. The weather was hit and miss but we braved it, to enjoy some lovely days out on the island, knowing we had a warm house to return to. We loved the local beach which is walkable, a short drive to Penmom Point with its view of Puffin Island and the mountains on the mainland, Beaumaris with its array of shops and cafes, Menai Bridge for a view of the suspension bridge, then further to Moelfre, a lovely maritime village and super cafe - Ann's pantry, Newborough, a lovely place to walk and spot birds and red squirrels and even as far as Holy Island, lovely coastal walks with south and north stack to visit. Perfectly reachable in a day trip. We had a great week, made comfortable and welcoming in Simdda Wen.

About the location

LLANDDONA

Beaumaris 3 miles; Benllech 7 miles; Red Wharf Bay 7 miles.

Llanddona is a small village on the Isle of Anglesey. Famous for its magnificent Blue Flag beach, the village also contains a local pub. The beach stretches across Red Wharf Bay to Benllech. The bay is very shallow and at low tide almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered and provides safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. The large bay attracts a huge number of waterfowl and wading birds, including shell duck, grey plover, purple sandpipers, curlew, oystercatchers and dunlin. Only 3 miles away is the delightful medieval town of Beaumaris which boasts a 13th century moated castle, lovely buildings housing excellent shops, "olde worlde" pubs, restaurants, bistros, museums, as well as a golf course and exciting pleasure boat and sea fishing trips. This is a beautiful location on the east coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey.
