What a lovely cottage.

Everything you could ever need is there. Peaceful away from the main road. Plenty of room for the children to play. Local beach is one of the nicest ive been to. Although it is very steep ( free car park and loos)

Simdda Wen is a perfect place to stay,it's just like a home from home, the lounge was huge with comfortable sofa and chairs, the kitchen/diner had everything you needed for cooking a good meal.

There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, but with only two of us we didn't need them, the downstairs bedroom was very comfortable and the large bathroom was just across the hall, with bath and a separate shower. Our hosts Bari and Kate were very approachable and friendly (not that we needed anything).We look forward to staying again.

We loved staying at Simdda Wen, from the first time we walked in.

The heating was on, we felt right at home and really appreciated the extras the owners had left. It meant we could just start our holiday the moment we arrived. The facilities in the house were great. We didn't want for anything. Loads of kitchen equipment, oodles of hot water, comfy beds, good selection of entertainment extras (TV/wi-fi/games/books/maps). The pub is a short walk away, was very friendly, and served nice food. The weather was hit and miss but we braved it, to enjoy some lovely days out on the island, knowing we had a warm house to return to. We loved the local beach which is walkable, a short drive to Penmom Point with its view of Puffin Island and the mountains on the mainland, Beaumaris with its array of shops and cafes, Menai Bridge for a view of the suspension bridge, then further to Moelfre, a lovely maritime village and super cafe - Ann's pantry, Newborough, a lovely place to walk and spot birds and red squirrels and even as far as Holy Island, lovely coastal walks with south and north stack to visit. Perfectly reachable in a day trip. We had a great week, made comfortable and welcoming in Simdda Wen.

A nice cottage with pleasant accommodating owners. Ideally located for exploring - would recommend Beaumaris and Caernarfon castles. The village pub is a short walk away provides excellent food and value. As does the Liverpool Arms in Beaumaris. Also recommend the bakery in Beaumaris (up a side street near Liverpool Arms) and the butcher in nearby Benllech.

This was our 2nd stay at Simdda Wen, 4 adults and our 2 grandchildren 9 & 6.

Welcome food pack appreciated, milk, eggs, bread, butter & barra brith. Fantastic garden for the kids to play. Well equipped kitchen. Washing machine & dryer, iron & ironing board. Everything you need for your stay. Llanddona has a friendly pub, beautiful beach, no local shops though. Excellent base to explore the rest of Anglesey or just chill out in the cottage. The hosts, Kate and Bari live in the adjoining cottage and are so nice and very welcoming.

It’s a fantastic little spot to stay and explore the island.

The cottage is fully equipped for a couple or extended family. There’s a lovely outside area, fab conservatory to chill in. Plenty of storage space. The sandy beach is very nearby and huge!!! Pub is a walk away for food and sherbets.

4 Adults, 2 Children aged 8 & 5.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay. Cottage was clean, well maintained and roomy. Kitchen was well equipped with pans, utensils, crockery & glasses. Everything was perfect for our 7 night stay. Good location for a base. Llanddona beach was accessible down a steep lane, and well worth a visit, The hosts live next door, left us to it, and were helpful & obliging when contacted. Welcome pack of eggs, milk and Bara Brith was a nice touch. We took our own tea, coffee etc but didn’t need to as there was enough for us. All we had to do was turn up and get out with enjoying our holiday. Our grandchildren enjoy the garden and large paddock to play in and the daily visit from Gus, one of the host’s friendly cats. 10 out of 10, would definitely book again

Warm welcome and spacious accommodation.

The kitchen is big and light and a nice space for eating and cooking. We liked the big conservatory too. Good WiFi. We'll definitely come back. Llandonna a nice village to walk round in August with the heather out.

Fabulous stay in a roomy, well kept home from home.

Kate and Bari are wonderful hosts have thought of everything to make a stay here a relaxing, positive experience. The welcome gifts of freshly laid eggs, home made Barra Brith, bread, milk and butter were both thoughtful and exceptionally nice!! The house was perfect for myself and elderly parent, as the downstairs bedroom proved perfect for her limited mobility. The rooms upstairs are tastefully decorated with an abundance of towels. The kitchen is well stocked with the basics including plenty of dishwasher tablets, bin liners, foil and all those things that you naturally reach for when rustling up a snack or meal. Highly recommend this place, we will certainly be returning. Thanks both.

Fabulous location and very spacious accommodation.

A generously welcome pack. Kitchen was very well equipped with lots of crockery, cutlery and utensils. Kate was a lovely host and provided prompt information. Lots of indoor games and books. Access to a utility room with washer and drier was a definite plus with two children. Would definitely recommend & hopefully book again as the location was excellent for getting around the island. Road to beach narrow but coming from a rural area it wasn’t a problem !

Yes we enjoy our week here at this big clean and comfortable house, plenty of room indeed, Kate was a good host Bless she left us some milk,bread,eggs and a lovely bara brith , which we enjoyed, probably we will book again here and what a lovely area , plenty of places to explore, llangefni was good for supermarket s Bangor again not far away with plenty of big shops, good parking space right by the cottage, a very nice family living here , they are right next door if you need anything or local information for the area , enjoy, Caroles x Hywel, we just love holidays,

Very nice place to stay.

It suited the two of us very well but might have been a push if six people were staying with only one loo and bathroom, otherwise very comfortable and well equipped. Kate made us feel most welcome and provided an excellent welcome pack. Great location for exploring both Anglesey and the mainland.

Absolutely brilliant stay, such a comfortable cosy cottage in a wonderful location!

The cottage is really close to Beaumaris, with a lovely village pub on the doorstep. The huge, beautiful beach is a short car ride away (wouldn't recommend walking as the roads are very narrow and steep). The cottage is super cosy with everything and more that you need. The photos don't show the conservatory/sun room much , we found this a perfect place to enjoy our morning coffee. Kate and Bari are simply the perfect hosts and we couldn't recommend this place highly enough whether you're a couple or a family. We'll we back very soon!

What a great property everything you could ask for and need is in the property.

Set in a beautiful location with the beach only 5 minutes away. From the moment we walked in it felt like home and the welcome pack was great. Had a lovely long weekend can not wait to go back hopefully for longer next time.

The owners had thought of all the lovely little details from toilet paper and essentials to a really wonderful home baked welsh bread, milk and eggs etc which helped us on our first few days to settle and enjoy the first cup of tea at a wonderful relaxed cottage. The location of the cottage is brilliant, not far from the beautiful blue flag beach, 3 miles from Beaumaris and not far at all from Caernarfon Castle which was truly amazing. Will definitely return.

Lovely cottage with everything we needed.

Large living area with comfy furniture, plenty of different TV channels for evenings entertainment, bedrooms were nicely set out with plenty of space ...beaches nearby were superb.. amazing wildlife.....Kate Barry and family are such a lovely family, nothing was to much trouble....plus a warm welcome from Guss & Co on our arrival

Stayed last year and it was an amazing stay again this year.

The comfort of the house was amazing and the space we had was wide and enough room to get around. The conservatory was nice and warm as had lovely visits by the owners. We were greeted with fresh eggs, bara brith, butter and milk. We woke up fresh in the morning to birds tweeting and a beautiful sun on most days. There were amazing places to walk, there was a tractor show, and lots of beaches, overall it was amazing and would recommend to stay. Libby Lewis, age 10

The pictures do not do enough justice to this cottage. It is comfortable, clean and spacious and just a mile away from the beach which made for a real calming and enjoyable getaway for us.

Wonderful well-equipped spacious cottage!

The owners went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. A great place to be whatever the weather. The local beach is beautiful- it’s about a 20/25min walk down a steep hill- but worth it if you’re up for the challenge or there’s a carpark at the bottom. Anglessey is a beautiful place, with plenty of places to explore nearby- highlights for us being Menai RIB trip, South Stacks and Conwy castle.

Cottage is set in a quiet location in the village of llanddona but 5 mins walk to friendly village pub with good food. A luverly welcome pack was left for us by owners Bari and Kate and cottage was very clean and cosy with everything you needed for a relax and chill Thanks guys for a great weekend Ps bara brith delicious

Had an enjoyable stay in a beautiful part of Anglesey, the property was perfect and the owners were lovely.

We both loved our time at Simdda Wen Cottage.

We celebrated our 30th anniversary here and we're blessed with a full day of beautiful weather just for that day. The weather was as expected for the time of year, wet & windy, with occasional sunshine. The cottage is beautiful and has that really home from home feeling. It is very well equipped. The kitchen is beautiful and has an electric fan oven which both the hubby and I loved. The shower water pressure is great We didn't use the bath as we both loved the shower. If you do go here for a break there are shops just down the road at Llangefni, Home bargains, lidl, aldi. Asda and a B&M We bought our wood/kindling etc from home bargains. The pub in Llanddona is nice, however it's cold in there so wrap up warm. The cottage hosts are both lovely, approachable and they're in no way intrusive. Nothing was a bother for them. The flowers and welcome pack were a lovely touch even included a home made Bara Brith which was gorgeous. (it's worth staying here just for that.. It was that good!) If you're looking for a peaceful retreat this is the perfect place, Anglesey is beautiful and close enough to visit Snowdonia an various other in north wales. If you get the chance check out Beaumaris it is beautiful and the castle is worth a trip too. Newborough is worth a visit it is particularly picturesque... Most of Anglesey is pretty, the only place we didn't enjoy was Holyhead... Be sure to check out Llanddona beach and there are two roads to it, locals use one to drive down and the other to drive up to the beach. There's a cafe down there too. There are lots of lovely beaches and coves, some of which are only accessible by foot... Or boat. *Fuel costs (diesel) was considerably cheaper here than back home (near Newcastle) by 20p per litre 149.9 (date of our holiday was the last week in March 2023) at the Texaco garage in Portreath Enjoy your stay, we certainly did and we both slept so much better too. Lovely cottage!

Clean, cosy and well presented. Had everything needed for a great stay and the welcome pack of milk, butter, bread, eggs, logs for the fire and a fantastic home made Bara Brith cake was very much appreciated and a lovely touch. Initial contact with the owner Kate was excellent with clear directions provided on how to get there. Thank you so much

A comfortable cottage with a warm welcome from the owners!

This was a peaceful place to stay for a long weekend. Well equipped with space for a young family to run around on a wet day! We enjoyed sitting in the conservatory in the sun. Only a mile from a beautiful beach. As previous comments do note that the bathroom and loo is downstairs.

A most comfortable property for enjoying a self catering holiday. So much space - but there was only 2 in the accommodation. Really useful to have a bedroom, bathroom & separate toilet downstairs. The 2 bedrooms upstairs were a really good size but no bathroom - this is perhaps the only negative comment I would make. Many thanks to the owners - overall would certainly recommend.

Great location, great property - the photos don't do it justice.

Perfect for exploring the island and further afield, we even managed a day trip from Holyhead (about 25 mins away) to Dublin! Brilliant hosts, friendly & helpful but not in any way intrusive, and the bara brith & the rest of the welcome pack were much appreciated when we arrived at around 11pm (looking forward to trying the bara brith recipe!). Would recommend and we would certainly come back here for our next Anglesey adventure.

The hosts, Kare and Bari where friendly and helpful but not a bit intrusive. The property was lovely. Clean, well presented, comfortable, all the amenities we needed, beautiful outside space and a lovely welcome pack. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to everyone.

Lovely cottage in a very quiet area.

The cottage sleeps six people and is spacious enough for six adults. Owners live next door but and not intrusive in any way but are available if you need them. Would reccomend.

An amazing week away for my partners 60th birthday.

Katie and her family were brilliant. From their warm welcome, helpful information, home made Bara Brith; nothing was too much. The accommodation is lovely and homely. The facilities are excellent. I could not have wished for anything more from our stay.

Simdda Wen is a fantastic property and Kate and Bari are fabulous hosts.

The house is beautifully clean, spacious and great value for money. There are so many thoughtful touches and it’s better equipped than my own home! And the welcome pack of food was delicious. I can’t recommend the property highly enough.

We chose the cottage for the 5 star reviews , and pet free due to allergies, it certainly lived up to the customer ratings, Kate and family were lovely, and made us feel really welcome with homemade cake, milk, tea coffee.

The cottage had everything we needed for a relaxing weeks holiday, even home grown herbs in the kitchen to add to cooking. The place was fresh and one of the cleanest cottages I've stayed in, lovely bedrooms, brilliant night's sleep, we would definitely return.

We had a really lovely stay at Simdda Wen and were snug and cosy in the cottage despite blustery weather.

We found the cottage perfectly situated for a stroll down to the beautiful shoreline and local footpaths and convenient for popping into Beaumaris shops and restaurants. We had everything we needed and were even treated to some lovely home baked cake and fresh eggs on arrival. Kate the owner was so helpful in every way. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage.

Lovely well equipped cottage.

Really enjoyed using the BBQ, patio area and consevatory. We were left some tasty fruit cake and other provisions which was a very thoughtful touch. Beautiful beach less than 10 minutes drive and Beaumaris town was also a very short drive and great place to explore. We would definitely return.

We had a great week at Simdda Wen.

Hosts were very welcoming and after initial introduction they gave us complete privacy. It was such a peaceful setting. Everywhere was really clean, beds were comfy and little extra touches meant a lot. Would definitely return to this cottage in the future.

So spacious, even more so than indicated on the photos.

Although there is only one toilet, this is separate to the bathroom and did not cause a video for our group - my parents, my husband and I, and our three young children. We enjoyed using the fire, the large garden and the conservatory. The downstairs bedroom and WC was great for my dad , who is awaiting a hip operation. Lovely property. Everything you need in easy driving distance. Beach 5 mins in car and Beaumaris and Red Warf Bay very close. Wpuld be difficult without a car, but if you have access to one it's no issue at all.

Excellent property, and a great base for exploring the surroundings.

The owners are on hand, in an unobtrusive way, and were very helpful with our questions. They're a Welsh speaking couple which was good for me as I'm learning the language, but of course they both speak English, in fact the lady is from Yorkshire originally. The property can easily accommodate up to 6 people. Just two of us went so we had loads of space. Just a couple of minutes walk away and you're then overlooking the sea. Red Wharf Bay and Llanddona beach are both worth a visit and are easily accessible. Then of course there'e the rest of the island :-)

This cottage is wonderful home from home, my friends and i stayed here for 1 week 4th Sept -11th Sept,2020.

.....the owners were lovely people and went out of there way to make us feel comfortable, and welcome.even to leaving a lovely Bara brith butter, milk and eggs and let us sample their Sloe Gin. We definitely would return and would highly recommend Do try the pub around corner, food very nice and staff friendly.

Simdda Wen is a very lovely cottage.

The owners and their girls were very friendly and helpful. Everything was provided for us and the welcome pack that we received was very much appreciated - bread, milk, eggs, and an extremely delicious homemade Bara Brith. The cottage was beautifully clean and very comfortable, with a little friendly pub just around the corner. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again or recommend it to friends. The only suggestion would be a second loo?, I wouldn't mark the owners down in any way for this, but just make the suggestion that if this could ever be considered in the future, then it would surely be a welcome investment. Thank you Kate & Barri.

The hosts were such lovely people welcomed us with a homemade cake bread butter etc .

They offered advice about places to visit allowed my grandaughter to get fresh eggs every morn from their chicken pen she loved it. We would definitely recommend this lovely cottage to family and friends and will definitely be making a return visit. Couldn't ask for more. Excellent value for money

We were a three generation family staying at Symdda Wen.

We were surprised at just how spacious the cottage is, we never felt on top of each other at all. Everything was just lovely, clean and bright, I particularly liked the conservatory with its comfortable chairs and escape from others who wanted to watch T.V. in the sitting room The cottage owners were very friendly and helpful. We all had a really lovely time visiting Beaumaris ( barely 10 mins drive from the cottage) and its castle, a real hit with our 4 1/2 year old Grandson, we visited beaches, a light house at Penmon where there are rocks to scramble over and rock pools to explore and of course a very nice tea shop too. All in all a really lovely holiday in a beautiful cottage in a beautiful area of Wales.

Angelsey is beautiful the people are friendly and the cottage was all you could wish for.

Everything went very well apart from the rain which no one could predict.

Home from home, excellent facilities, clean and fresh.

Kate and Bari where very friendly and helpful. Cottage is in a very quiet and rural setting so perfect for a family getaway.

It helps when the weather cooperates like it did for us, but the house was excellent.

A lovely base from which to explore Anglesey and all of North Wales, the house was large, spacious and well appointed. The paddock and garden were perfect places for small children to play, and the skylit bedrooms were brilliant. Highly recommended, and Bari and Kate were super friendly hosts.

Owner lives next door and was really friendly and helpful - welcome pack was a lovely touch and the children enjoyed the cake !

Excellent property for people with mobility issues - there are a couple of steps but as downstairs bedroom and bathroom this enabled grandma to join us on weekend away which was nice Property clean and homely with everything you need Great location not too far from Beaumaris Would recommend

Ideal situation for exploring the island.

The house was warm, comfortable and very inviting and is probably the most well equipped holiday home in which we've ever stayed.

Thanks for the butter, milk and fruit cake that were there on our arrival, it was a lovely touch.

Kate and Bari were very warm and welcoming right from the start and they seemed to have thought of everything that a visitor might need.

The accommodation was spacious (inside and outside). Would certainly recommend it and are very likely to go there again.

It was a lovely holiday in a very lovely property.

Perfect for our multi - generational party - cot / high chair / plastic crockery / washing machine for the kids, and the downstairs bedroom was great for grandparents with poor mobility, and the cottage was very spacious so we weren't on top of each other. Would definitely recommend this property or consider using it again if wanting to have another holiday in Anglesey.

It is really well equipped, like a home rather than a rented property.

The owners are lovely and my son even had a little brass lesson from the owner as he is learning to play the cornet!

I find Sykes a very easy and helpful organisation to deal with. The website is very clear but most importantly it is easy to speak to a person on the telephone.
