Nant Cottage

We are never disappointed when we stay at Nant cottage.

The cottage is beautiful inside and out, clean, comfortable with everything you need. The garden is perfect, surrounded by trees, nature and the sound of the waterfall. We will be back next year.

Nant Cottage was excellent.

A really old and quirky property that was spacious and well-equipped. The grounds were perfect and the beck and waterfall were a real novelty. The cottage is much more spacious than it looks on the photos and was very warm and welcoming. All the period features are present and it feels like staying in the past. Scones with fresh cream and jam, an Easter egg and milk were all provided and much appreciated on arrival! Location-wise, it was very handy to access the whole of northern Snowdonia and right on the Gywdir Marw MTB trail too. Also worth mentioning is that dogs are not allowed, which is fantastic and something other property owners should insist on too - no hair, smell, slobber or poo. We have stayed in a LOT of holiday homes over the years and this one was definitely the best we’ve come across. Thank you for an excellent week of adventures and comfort.

A lovely cottage, historical and beautiful and very much as listed.

Next to the road but private and can mostly only hear the river and see the trees. Generous wood supplied and homemade scones which were great. Worth chatting with Adrian about the history of the cottage and local area.

The cottage was very cosy and warm, and had everything we needed. Such a beautiful place to stay, especially with the waterfalls just a short walk from the house.

The first time we’ve taken our baby and the hosts were so accommodating and provided us with a cot and anything else we needed. We took a family photo in front of the cottage and can’t wait to make it an annual tradition. Thank you so much it’s truly a privilege to stay there.

A stunning cottage, which was a joy to stay in.

The grounds beautiful, the birds and squirrel a true joy to watch each morning.Would say that it's not for anyone who struggles with steps. The three down to the kitchen were in dire need of a small grab rail. I managed to fall down them cracking a rib and my poor nose. That said it was in the middle of the night and I was half asleep. ( No alcohol inbolved at all!) Surrounding area very beautiful with all you need in Llanrwst (Fab chip shop and Chinese takeaway!!) We left a night early due to Storm Amy, and a power cut. Would recommend to my more agile friends! Thank you for a wonderful week. The scones on arrival as well as milk and cream a really thoughtful and very welcome gift. Hope to visit again in the future.

Lovely cottage, so peaceful and great location for sightseeing north Wales.

Beautiful property in a beautiful location.

Everything was lovely except for a very damp and strong damp smell to the downstairs bedroom. Could not fault anything else. Another bathroom would have been great but being a listed building we understood the reason why there wasn’t! Very well equipped and lovely scones, tea, coffee and milk on arrival. All in all a lovely property :)

Beautiful, well equipped, cottage with a pretty, and extensive, garden.

The cottage is spacious, but still cosy, with lots of interesting features. It is a 15 minute walk into Llanwrst, through the woods (past the waterfalls), or along the small road. Both routes are fairly steep. There is lots to see and do in the area. Highly recommended !

A beautiful cottage, we always enjoy our holidays at Nant.

We will definitely be returning next year.

Nant cottage is a very appealing property in a beautiful setting.

It is well equipped with everything you need plus comfortable beds. The garden goes around 3 sides of the cottage and there is stream to the side of the property, which disappears towards the Grey Mare's Tail waterfall. This is behind the cottage downhill - a few minutes walk away. We loved our two visits to Trefriw working Woollen Mill. We were surprised by the amount of traffic using the crossroads, slightly uphill from the living room and front garden and would advise the use of a cafe kitchen netting for more privacy. Kathleen and Adrian are warm, carìng hosts who we had several chats with over our 3 week stay. Weekly collection of our bed linen and towel washing and a weekly basket of wood. We enjoyed many an evening in front of the cosy woodburner. We had a lovely stay and recommend Nant Cottage to others.

Fantastic holiday home in a beautiful location.

For me the bed was a little to firm. But that's down to individual taste. Couldn't get the shower to work either. But very small things, so didn't bother the owners. Loved it overall

!!This cottage is beautiful and the surroundings also,so peaceful sat watching the birds feed in the front garden,would love to go back in summer sit in the garden and listen to the waterfall whilst reading a book ,return again for autumn to see the colours change ,if you love walking well spoilt for choice !!The cottage is cosey ,well equipped,very warm,Kathleen and Adrian such a lovely couple they helped us out they came out of their way to give us a lift to the train station id just like to thank you both again ,the homemade scones melt in your mouth that sat waiting for us in the kitchen

Everything was as described and better. The snug over the kitchen is a great addition and was so nice to sit and read in. Thank you for the scones! We really loved our stay.

This is a lovely well equipped, clean and cosy cottage in a beautiful and quiet forest location, but not too far from the local towns and villages.

It is perfectly located for visiting all of the main resorts and attractions within the Snowdonia area and the coast. The nearest place, for pubs, shops and restaurants is llanrwst, which is an easy 15 mins downhill walk from the cottage. Betws-Y-Coed is also easily reached on foot by a variety of good forest trails. Further afield, the seaside resort of llandudo is only a 40 mins drive away. The owners, Kathleen and Adrian, are so friendly and very helpful. This is one of the best cottages we have ever stayed at and we will definitely be coming back again.

We loved our stay.

It was brilliant to have an enclosed garden that the kids could play in and the cottage itself is so full of history though at the same time very comfortable. We loved lighting a fire every night! The area right around the cottage is beautiful for little walks. It feels so secluded in the middle of a forest, whilst only being 6 minutes from Betws-Y-Coed and less thN 30 lin from Conwy. We would definitely come again! Two small things that I'd mention is that the bathtub was not completely clean (though everything else was), and the cabin had a bit of musty, dusty smell in all the rooms with a carpet, especially upstairs. The carpet seems quite old and worn and hard to get properly clean so I don't think I'd recommend this place for anyone who suffers from allergies until the carpet was changed everywhere.

Fabulous Much needed peace and quiet Loved it

This is the second time we have stayed at Nant cottage, everything is just perfect from the beautiful surroundings to the yummy scones that greet your arrival.

The cottage itself is very clean and just like a home from home, everything you need to ensure your stay is amazing has been thought of and then provided. The hosts are amazing and on hand if needed. Quite simply the best cottage we have found in the twenty years we have been lucky enough to visit north wales.

Wonderful cottage, full of character in a fabulous location.

We loved our stay. The cottage is in a quiet area, yet only 1 mile from the village. Amazing waterfall only 50m behind the cottage, with cycling and walking paths right on your doorstep. Plenty of private gated parking, and lovely wrap around gardens. You can hear the waterfall from the gardens. Really comfortable spacious accommodation and the welcome scones were a lovely surprise. The cottage was lovely and warm with the added benefit of the log burner, which made it feel really homely. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Highly recommended if you want to get away to a quite spot, but still have all the modern comforts. Lovely owners.

The cottage is beautifully maintained and when we had a little issue with the electrics the owners resolved it very quickly. The living room offers a wonderful setting to enjoy the garden wildlife. All in all a wonderful place to relax with fantastic walks from the door....And the cream and scones to welcome is a lovely touch!

Really great property, loved listening to the waterfall as we sat on the patio.

Met the owners when we checked in and they left us some scones, milk, and jam. Really a gracious touch for our welcome. The surrounding area was super cool and I'm glad we had a chance to explore some of it.

One of the best possible THE best cottage we have stayed in (and there has been a few) a paradise for walkers and cyclist’s.

Trails right from the door. The cottage itself is beautiful has many original features and has everything you could possibly need. We enjoyed our stay so much we have already booked it for next year.

I had an amazing time during my stay at Nant Cottage.

The cottage was well equipped with everything I needed and couldn’t have wished for more. Whether it be relaxing by the fire watching TV or sitting in the garden reading, Nant cottage offers everything. It is also perfectly situated near the town of Llanwrst with all the local amenities you could need whilst also still being secluded away for your own privacy and peace. Plus, the waterfall nearby to the property adds an extra charm that you truly have to experience to appreciate. I would highly recommend this property and the owners are very kind and their hospitality was more than appreciated. I hope to stay again soon

Beautiful Cottage and fantastic location very central to visit all that North Wales has to offer.

We were very lucky to have sunny days and made the most of it exploring the waterfalls, walks and visiting areas such as Llandudno , Anglesey as well as Betwys y Coed, Snowdonia so many to mention taking in all the scenery by car, rail and on foot. Absolutely loved our trip and could have spoken to Adrian and Kathleen for hours about the history of the cottage . All of their hard work has definitely paid off. Thank you too for our welcome scones cream and jams and chocs too . Very much appreciated after our journey to the area.

Nant Cottage has lots of great features inside and out including a secret room.

The cottage is spacious, well equipped and is looked after. Set in its own grounds and nicely isolated it really feels like getting away from it all. The local town has everything we needed and it is a really good location to set off for walks, the mines, mountains, the coast or other local villages. The welcome pack was very nice and appreciated. There is ample parking. My only minor level of concern was the narrow spiral staircases and the ropes used as a stair rail. I would be very cautious if I had young children with me. We would seriously consider booking again if we have the chance to return and do more exploring of the Snowdonia National Park.

It is superbly positioned with beautiful scenery and walks literally from the door .Lovely owners who leftus to ourselves but made sure they were available if needed. The Milkand delicious scones were a lovely bonus. Fantastic!

Superb cottage in a wonderful location.

Everything was available in the cottage. No fears of being cold. Heating available at all times. Very clean and most of all comfortable. Great walks straight from the front door to the forest. Honestly, you will not be disapointed with this property. Enjoy.

Amazing location tucked away with a waterfall pretty much in the back garden but not far from local facilities, a real hidden treasure. We loved it so much that we have booked to come back next summer with our kids!

Nant Cottage is very special!

It's a beautiful place, in a gorgeous setting, and it's been immaculately cared for. Every detail is covered. We had a wonderful and very comfortable holiday - in fact, we've just booked again for next autumn.

All beds made up and towels provided. Setting is beautiful surrounded by forest and waterfall a minutes walk away. Booking with Sykes was very easy and kept me well informed.

Beautiful location.

Wonderful property. Unhappy that it states there is BT Vision when there is not. (When inclement weather would be nice to have some choice of viewing and it was very very limited.). There is a smart TV separate but no code to access any other channels, so waste of time. Also surprised to see "strict" Wi-fi availability. Meaning just simple 18+ viewing on you tube or similar or 18 rated films etc are curtailed.

Beautiful little cottage in a lovely location, far enough away to unwind but close enough to all the amenities.

Walking literally from the doorstep,and a bonus was the stunning grey mares tail waterfall literally just behind the house.The garden is full of wild birds and a friendly little squirrel. Wild definitely recommended.The only silly little thing I would recommend would be a curtain at the back door as there is quite a draft coming through.

It was such a lovely, relaxing stay at Nant Cottage.

The location is excellent, with walks, mountain bike trails and nature right on your doorstep. The cottage itself had everything you need, even with little touches like bird seed to feed the birds in the garden. The cream tea on arrival is a lovely touch, as is the log fire, it just made it such a cosy break. The Grey Mare's Tail waterfall is within walking distance and is beautiful. We had such a relaxing time and would come back if we were staying in the area again. The only thing I would suggest as an addition if it was something the owners wanted to consider, is a bike store so that it opens the cottage up more to those wanting to make use of the local trails. Thanks for a great stay!

Lovely place to stay

This is one great house like in fairytale.

Waterfalls under the house, plenty space for the cars to park. Beautiful gardens. The kitchen is big, tidy and full of everything you need for cooking. The living room is cozy. The baskets full of the logs are great. Rooms are clean, big, quiet. Nice view from every window you look out. The landlady and landlord are very friendly, helpful, nice people. The welcome us with some traditional welsh groceries. That was great start of our stay. There is tea and coffee there too. So after the long journey you can only relax and plan trip for another day. The Spar shops are well stocked for all you need. And all trips we did are close to this lovely house. There is birds, squirrels and we saw weasels too. We really enjoy the week stay here.

A well-maintained, roomy and cosy property with excellent TV and wi-fi.

This was particularly helpful as the weather was not the best for spending a lot of time outdoors (beginning of November). This was an excellent base for visiting the landmarks of Snowdonia.

Nant Cottage has modern conveniences considering it is a Grade II listed building.

The gardens are stunning (look for the hidden wild garden through the hedge). Very peaceful location and perfect for walking and sight seeing historic castles and abbeys all in easy access. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Apart from a few spindly spiders (as expected in a stone cottage in the countryside) there were no other spiders anywhere within the cottage! Impressed that there were no webs at all on the ceiling beams and place was extremely clean. The second lounge has been moved upstairs (photos on site need updating) and one of the double bedrooms moved downstairs. Makes sense as there are two sets of wooden spiral staircases to access upstairs. There are two TVs at the property and the upstairs lounge has a Smart TV! Bonus! Squirrels and rabbits in the front garden. Trees surrounding all sides. Perfect! The property and hygiene levels are a credit to the owners, would definitely recommend this property.

Lovely place in beautiful setting.

Close to everything in Snowdonia If I was to be really critical the double bed upstairs mattress was to hard for my back and did give me back ache. But it wouldn’t stop me going back.

In an ideal location, quite near to the local town of Llanrwst, but far enough for peace and quiet, this cottage is a real little gem.

If you like to know about such things, persuade the friendly and welcoming owners of the property to tell you a little of its history. Remember, this is a genuine old buidling, so expect the little quirks of such a place. There is a beautiful double waterfall, The Grey Mare's Tail, which rushes down just beyond the house, you can visit it via a gate just up the road.

This is a delightful cottage, really pretty, excellent position.

The only drawback was the shower, getting the right temperature to stay constant was a problem. Also for 6 people showering the quantity of hot water inadequate, we could not all shower same time of day. Could really have done with a few more mugs rather than little tea cups.

Beautiful location , very peaceful at night time , stunning gardens and surroundings, full of character .

Stream, waterfall, historic town, castle, river and stone house all are together.

Just a minute walk to the waterfall. When you open the gate you get the stream. Photos don’t do any justice to this place. May be it’s good because you will be surprised when you go to this place. I don’t think anyone will be disappointed after going to this place. We went in May 2021 and booked the same place again in May 2022. We enjoyed every bit of it. Landlord is so friendly and joyful.

Such a beautiful traditional cottage with everything you could wish for and lots more, surround by the most amazing scenery.

We booked this last minute as a couple of add on days to a break in Anglesey.

The cottage is lovely, sixteen hundreds appearance tastefully improved to include all the modern requirements of a holiday let without detracting from any of the period features. Good usable spaces in idyllic surroundings. WiFi and TV signal we're both good but we had no mobile reception in case that's important to some. There was a BT landline available for a small charge. The cottage was well equipped with all bedding, towels, soaps etc. plus a welcome pack of scones with jam and cream. This is a charming property with many unique features, I don't think I have ever taken so many pictures of a holiday let before. Would especially suit keen walkers. Will definitely be going back.

It was a lovely comfortable cottage in beautiful surroundings, everything was perfect.

The owners were waiting for us when we arrived and showed us round the cottage and gardens, they were lovely.

The Cottage was really amazing, a really quaint homey building.

Nice and clean, the bed was soo comfortable. We climbed Snowdon, was a nice place to come back and relax in. Would return.

The process right through from booking to payments to all the information was really very good and the actual cottage was a real gem.

And even when there was a small misunderstanding upon arrival (our fault) there was someone on the other end of the telephone to help and who sorted the problem out immediately. The cottage was immaculately turned out and was everything and more that we had expected from the website and the reviews. We would not hesitate to recommend Sykes or use them again - excellent and thank you for a fantastic week.

The cottage was fairytale, idyllic, stunning.

I did not want to leave.

It was a great location for walks through the Gwydir Forest with some beautiful views ,then there's the Grey Mares Waterfall a few yards from the cottage .

Easy access to Conwy , Llandudno, Betwys Coed , Portmeirion and many more lovely little places. The Cottage was very quaint lovely big kitchen with everything you need a nice log burner with basket of logs but if arriving in the dark you could possible miss it , the owners were very friendly there was a lovely cream tea ,a pint of milk tea ,coffee , sugar just what you need after the journey.

This is simply a stunning cottage, large and spacious rooms, well furnished and equipped with everything that is required, it also has a lovely front garden with a bench in front of the cottage to enjoy the scenery and relax in the sun, there is also a pretty sheltered side garden reached by going through a arch cut into the hedge, comple with another bench to relax and enjoy the birdsong.

We were greeted by the owners and the scones and cream / jam that also greeted us were delicious, fresh milk and tea / sugar / two types of coffee. A lot of thought has gone into the many little extras that are in abundance in the cottage, plenty of toilet rolls / small travel bottles of body wash / shampoo and hand body lotion / shower cap in the bathroom, The cottage itself is very isolated on the edge if the forest and with steep incline roads going of all around it but it's very quiet and peaceful, it is reached by a little bridge over a stream and has a gate to open on entrance and departure every time, a larger vehicle could possibly have difficulty with this as the bridge is narrow and the entry / road has limited space to manoeuvre it is also positioned just after turning a bend. If you don't like or are not use to comple darkness then I'd suggest taking a night light as it is extremely dark once the lights are out. The cottage was situated close enough to everything we wanted do and see, the large fridge freezer made food shopping easy as we did one main shop at Tesco in porthmadog for our week's stay. This is definitely a place I'd return to.

However the staircase was not really suitable for an elderly couple with some limited mobility.

Fabulous cottage in a gorgeous quiet location.

Very well stocked/equipped kitchen, with everything you could possibly need for your stay. Pretty gardens too. It was ideal for our family including our two young, noisy granddaughters! No neighbours to disturb! Cosy wood burner for the chilly evenings. The only downside ( and I’m being very picky here) is the bathroom is located downstairs next to the utility room, which is a bit of a trek in the middle of the night from the back bedroom. However There is a cloakroom attached to the main front bedroom which is obviously handy. All in all a lovely holiday was had, and if we come back to the area, we will definitely stay at the cottage again.

Owners are really friendly, they went above my expectations for providing little extras to settle in, the cleanest cottage we have been in.

Nant Cottage is a very comfortable, large and well equipped cottage with many original features.

The TV and wi-fi both work well and there is a DVD player but we were unable to get a phone signal. The gardens are well maintained and lovely to sit in on a sunny day. For when it is chilly in the evenings, there is a log burner which comes with a supply of kindling and logs to last the week. The cottage is pleasantly situated in forest near to a number of mountain biking trails and pleasant walks. There is an impressive waterfall on the doorstep. The local town is a few minutes away and has a fair sized Co-op supermarket with free parking for all your grocery needs. The cottage is also within easy driving distance of all North Wales attractions. I couldn't recommend it more for a tranquil and enjoyable vacation,

Beautiful little fairytale cottage, authentic and homely, amazing waterfall in the grounds and some lovely walks nearby, cozy log fire to snuggle down with some board games of an evening!

Cottage was extremely clean and owners are lovely people.

we enjoyed the cottage , however the stairs are a problem for the elderly but we survived.

The beds were on the hard side and the shower was problem to shut off, otherwise it was spotlessly clean , warm , well equipped and enjoyable.

!! It was absolutely spotless when we arrived and the owners were there to welcome us and show us around. They also left us a cream tea which was very kind and much appreciated after a long drive. It is a very comfortable cottage and has everything you could possibly need there including lots of cleaning products which a lot of other cottages don't leave. I highly recommend Nant Cottage to anyone who wants that extra special holiday cottage with the wow factor!!

Great cottage with all the little things added, great attention to detail, better than it looks in the photos.

Many walks right on the doorstep, interesting villages close by, would like to go again in the winter to cosy up in front of the fire.

The pictures for the cottage did not do it justice,It was enchanting!

! We lay in bed listening to the birds and waterfalls,which were literally right outside the door. Well worth the very short walk to look at. Close to many walks, you can walk from the front door through amazing forests and hills.We did two mountains while we were there,Moel Siabod and Snowdon as we didn't finish it on a previous visit. Deep snow on top but a clear sunny day.Well worth the hike.The cottage has it's own heartbeat that envelopes you in a very warm,squishy hug. The little noises in the attic makes it even more amazing as you know how close you are to nature. We had our almost adult children with us and they were blown away by the age and feel of the house.Would recommend it to anyone looking for complete rest and relaxation or you can use it as a base for many extreme activities.Great bike tracks start right opposite.
