We really loved it we have stayed a couple of times hopefully we will be back next year it's a beautiful place

Well thought out conversion giving plenty of space.

Well equipped with that ‘extra’ feel of luxury. Ideal base to explore the surrounding beauty of this part of Wales.

We couldn't fault this cottage.

It was the ideal location for us as we come to Wales to walk/hike. The cottage is modern and comfortable. And we can't forget the donkeys ❤️ We enjoyed our stay that much that we have already booked to come back next year.

Excellent property, nice location, quiet, but close to LLanwrst, & Betwsy - Coed.

Owners very responsive to any problems & on first day provided us with 6 eggs, a bottle of wine & Welsh cakes for no charge.

Felt very comfortable and cosy with all the major things you would need. Would have like bin liners and dish cloth/kitchen sponge, the little things make life much easier. Would definitely stay again.

The Shippon is an excellent accommodation, beautifully designed and equipped, spacious for two people, and conveniently located to the mountains and the North Wales coast.

Firstly booking through Sykes was very straightforward.

The Shippon totally exceeded our expectations. A converted barn - there was so much space, including a huge bathroom, while still having a cosy, comfortable feel. A much appreciated welcome pack on arrival. We will definitely stay there again.

Beautiful cottage.

Perfect location to head into the mountains and also out for a little site seeing. Not far from two towns in case you need anything. Has two friendly donkeys to say good morning to.

A lovely wood burner to get cosy by on those cold winter nights. Very traditional looking from the outside yet very contemporary within. Lovely large bathroom with options of a very large walk-in in shower or a large bath. We will be back again.

The Shippon was in a great location to explore.

The accommodation was stylish, warm and comfortable. The hosts were attentive when needed.

The Shippon is simply fantastic.

We've stayed there 5 times in 5 years now and still love it. It's beautifully laid out and equipped and we always find it our most relaxing week of the year. It's in a great position to explore all of the surrounding areas. Highly recommend.

This property is a little gem nestled between Betwys and Llanrwst.

You are literally just off the main road, so easy access to mountain, river and coast. The property is a converted cow shed, on farmland, with good parking. The Shippon is really well appointed, comfortable and had everything I needed. Yes, I read other reviews about cobwebs etc.. it is a farmland cottage in the mountains!! Yes there is the odd cobweb but nothing to worry about, the cleanliness of the living areas, kitchen, bedroom etc are superb and the bathroom is incredible. I would not hesitate to stay there again or recommend. Perfect stay.

We had a great holiday the cottage is brilliant so warm and comfortable just one very minor gripe the lights over the cooking area would be better if they hade white bulbs it would make cooking easier but absolutely great otherwise

Amazing location.

Beautiful cottage but from previous experience at this value we were disappointed with the quality of things. Rugs & towels need upgrading, several flys trapped inside, spiders around windows and very dusty. Could do with a deep clean.

We loved staying at the cottage!

Lovely, clean, spacious and felt very luxurious. Just two bits of feedback - The under floor heating was lovely, but it was hard to control the temperature of the house! We ended up being a bit too warm most of the time, and we were looking forward to using the log burner, which in the end we couldn't because it was too hot in the house. Secondly the internet wasn't good enough to be able to watch TV. Which is fine (I'm all for an escape from screens), but it may be worth warning future visitors about this. Otherwise everything was really wonderful. We'd come again for sure! Em & Rae

Lovely refurbished cow shed conversion.

Light, airy and very comfortable. Great location to explore north Snowdonia. Wonderfully cosy to return to when weather not conducive. All mod cons. Underfloor heating a pleasure and helps wet/boots clothes dry overnight. Highly recommend

Loved Our Stay at The Shippon; The Shippon is a brilliant spot for exploring Snowdonia.

It’s tucked away in a quiet, private location but still really easy to get to—just a few minutes from Llanrwst and about five minutes from Betws-y-Coed, so it’s perfect for heading out in any direction around Snowdon. The cottage itself is gorgeous. It’s a beautifully done barn conversion with loads of character, and it’s super cosy thanks to the underfloor heating and log burner—ideal for relaxing after a day out walking or sightseeing. We had a great time and wouldn’t think twice about staying here again. Highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful stay at The Shippon.

We've visited quite a few cottages (from Cornwall to Scotland), and The Shippon is definitely one of the best we've stayed in. From the living room to the bathroom, everything looks perfect. The Shippon is also a great location for exploring Snowdonia and the surrounding area. If we ever find ourselves in the area again, we'll definitely book The Shippon!

We didn't need to use the fire and haven't used it on any of our stays. What more can we say apart from we love The Shippon and this property needs to be treated with the respect it deserves as a lot of hard work has gone into the conversion We look forward to returning as soon as we are able

Lovely cottage and perfect for visiting Snowdonia and the surrounding areas.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There is a lovely hidden gem 9 hole golf course in Betsw y Coed. We have given a four star for cleanliness as there were quite a few cobwebs in the property . Would definitely recommend though.

A beautiful old house with a modern interior design and furnishings.

The furnishings are upscale and very good. Everything appears well-maintained. You'll need a car to explore the surrounding area. We felt very comfortable and can recommend the house.

Amazing property!

Don't be a Dave and book with confidence. Great value for your money really impressive with everything you need for a week away. Home from home. Direct access out on to the A470 so everything is in close driving distance. Tim & Ayla just a phone call away if you need anything fantastic hosts'. Dust left on light bulbs .

Found old receipt under bed. On arrival spiders and webs everywhere. Dirty dish sponge Warn out oven gloves. Seating very uncomfortable. Not the usual Sykes standard that we are used to. Cottage has potential but lacking love and care

My and I had a fantastic week here at the Shippon.

The cottage was finished to a high standard and the owners left a nice welcome hamper. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was big with a nice shower. Overall would recommend the cottage and would holiday here again as there were so many beautiful places to visit with some outstanding cafes in the nearby villages.

The Shippon is beautiful, comfortable and cosy.

It is the most relaxing place we've been. We love our time there so much that we've been four times now...and booked a fifth visit before we'd even left.

What a wonderful cottage this is, they have re-stored the building beautifully.

It was well equipped, warm and cosy. Well situated for visiting the surrounding areas and a pleasant walk into Llanwrst and Betwys y Coed. We were only here for 3 nights, but will definitely book again

Our 4th stay at The Shippon it's just the perfect holiday accomodation for two people

Lovely property - one of the very best we have stayed at in about 40 years of holidaying in Britain!

Comfortable bed, wonderful bathroom and kitchen and generally beautifully furnished. Our only problem was that two light bulbs were not working. I am not making any sort of complaint as, presumably, previous visitors had not left a message for the cleaner/owner?

Really special place Everything worked well.

Just would have like a smaller saucepan for boiling eggs and milk . The two there were so big .

The Shipon was exactly as it was portrayed in the photos.

It was clean, comfy and peaceful. Although it is situated on a farm, it felt very private. We had a lovely relaxing stay and enjoyed the surrounding areas, including Snowdon. Thank you to Tim and Ayla, the Shippon is a credit to you.

This is beautiful property that has been thoughtfully designed.

We absolutely loved the Shippon. We had booked 3 nights at another cottage but had to leave early as it was so dusty that it triggered my asthma . So we booked the Shippon as a last minute replacement and we are so glad we did.The minute we walked into Shippon we loved it. So clean, so light, so well designed. Stayed February 10th - 17th This place is lovely.

Has everything you need. Lovely comfortable bed. Wood burner. Bath and shower. It was just perfect. Set in a lovely location. Loved the donkeys. Would definitely stay again.

Just perfect for a relaxing break.

Everything in the cottage is at such a high standard. Really enjoyed the evenings, drinking red wine in front of a roaring fire. Location is great too. Not far from snowdon and the north wales coast.

What a great find the Shippon was.

It was ideally situated for exploring North Wales. The property has been refurbished to a very high standard. The styling was contemporary whilst retaining some very characterful features. The welcome pack was greatly appreciated. We have no hesitation in recommending the Shippon. We will definitely go back next time we are in the area.

Very cosy in the evenings, really liked the wood burner and the open plan kitchen/lounge area. We have already booked again for next year.

It is impossible to fault The Shippon, it is decorated and furnished to a high standard and is extremely comfortable and homely to stay in. The owners are lovely as are the surrounding areas and views.

It was always warm when we came back from our walks, and as the weather was a bit showery we were able to dry our coats in the porch quite easily. The welcome pack was a nice treat, thank you. The cottage had everything that we like when we go away, the perfect home from home. Would recommend.

Fantastic converted cottage and would happily book again.

.location is superb to explore the entire national park. Only comment, and not necessarily negative is that larger towels would be welcomed, minor comment as facilities were excellent.

Our stay at the Shippon was fantastic.

A wonderful, bright and airy property. Very clean and with all the facilities required for a comfortable stay.

The Shippon was spotlessly clean, with very nice furnishings and it has a spacious feel with plenty of light.

Lovely bathroom with a waterfall shower which is excellent. The owners were very helpful and it was a good base for us to explore the area. It would perhaps benefit from a small dining table and some better outdoor furniture including a table you can eat from, and a parasol. We were blessed with a week of beautiful sunshine! The nearby main road can be noisy at times but gives good access for exploring and the surrounding area is just amazing.

Excellent location and presented exceptionally well in terms of cleanliness and facilities.

The only issues were very poor wifi which can be frustrating, but that may well be a common issue in the area and the lack of a dining table and chairs with all meals eaten at an island - this may well be fine for most, but of an evening we would have preferred a table and chairs

This is a great place to stay in that beautiful area.

The house has a warm, modern and spacious feeling and everything was very clean. We would definitely use the house again for another holiday! Thank you also for the welcome basket with some local produce from the 'Ugly House Cafe'. - If there is anything which could be improved, it would be nice to have some dishwasher tablets, bin liners and and spare loo rolls handy, as well as a broom, so that one can clean bit by oneself after a couple of days. Many thanks again, we really enjoyed our stay!

Our second stay at the Shippon and despite the rather drab weather it was a very enjoyable stay.

A small point, the wifi still refuses to accept my Chromebook but my wife's iPad was fine. The only small concern we have is that we have still not met the owners who I believe live a few yards away. We understand that there is fine dividing line between privacy and being friendly but we think owners should at least be bit more approachable, especially as it was our second visit.

A beautiful property set in lovely surroundings.

Everything about this property is perfect from the impeccable design aesthetic and high quality furnishing. Of particular note is the lighting design allowing for brightly lit workspaces for food preparation to cosy nooks and wall lights for relaxing in front of the inglenook fireplace. The property is divided into 3 main areas the open kitchen / lounge area, the bedroom and a large bathroom. Each one is as exquisite as the next. This is our second stay here and we enjoyed it as much as the first, we will definitely be returning in the future. The surrounding countryside and easy access to all that the Snowdonia area offers is the icing on the cake.

Faultless.

No stone unturned here, everything is as it describes and more. The spacious property is well presented and cozy warm upon arrival. Clearly completed to a high standard with quality furnishings and excellent water pressure. The bed is comfortable, the owners are very welcoming and their info pack has all the information you need including nice places with variation to dine out. Ticked every box for our stay, thank you.

..and I doubt it'll be our last. The Shippon is beautifully decorated, cosy, well equipped and very clean. We felt comfortable and at home as soon as we arrived. We love the log burner and have had the most relaxing break away. The surroundings are stunning and there is lots to explore.

The Shippon is stylish, tasteful, comfortable and has has every thing you need for a relaxing break away from home.

The best self catering home we’ve stayed in. It is in a beautiful countryside setting but also close to restaurants and pubs. It is also within easy access of the wonderful north wales attractions such as snowdon, pony trekking and waterfalls. Will definitely recommend it.

What a beautiful conversion.

Finished to a very high standard, but without making you feel you couldn't relax and enjoy it all. Great attention to detail. A good base for all Snowdonia. We did a couple of days to the west coast with great ease. We are country folk, so to be surrounded by sheep, a horse and a lovely friendly cat made our holiday extra special. Thank you!!

Only thing I would have liked in the property would have been a small table and chairs.

An amazing property and a great base of operations for exploring the local area.

It was very comfortable and the welcome package was a lovely little extra. My only proviso to anyone looking to stay here is that the internet gets patchy in the evening. Not the owners' fault, of course, just the nature of being "away from it all", and honestly, more of a blessing than a curse. Just don't always expect to be able to stream all of your shows all of the time - perhaps the addition of a DVD player for when the internet goes out would be helpful.

The house is very interestingly designed and exceptionally well finished.

The bathroom is excellent, the bed very comfortable, as is the seating area. The only downside is the eating area which is at a breakfast bar (back to the TV and fire) which is not very conducive to a relaxing evening meal. However the size of the property doesn't really allow for a dining table. The owners are very responsive to comments and have already responded to others' comments. The area is brilliant, with a lot to do and many beautiful walks. We really enjoyed our stay.

What a lovely cottage!

! All the mod cons, contemporary but also keeping some of he characteristics of an original barn. Lovely wood burner to relax in front of, extremely comfortable bed and an amazing walk in shower. Me and my wife have visited many cottages over the years but this is the standout one by far. The owners leave you to it, which is nice but are there at a drop of a hat if you need any help/advice from them. Ideally situated between Betws-y-Coed and Llanrwst, there are plenty of walks if that’s what you fancy but also ample places to eat and drink. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

The cottage is finished to a very high standard and is well appointed with pleasant views from its windows, close to local shops and restaurants and a short drive from Snowdon. Accommodation is spotless and comprises a very comfortable bed, luxurious bathroom, excellent kitchen area, and comfortable seating area with a large television. There is a wood burning stove if required but the underfloor heating, which is controllable in each room, is ample to ensure a warm and cosy evening, even on the coldest and windy night. I hope opportunity allows me to come back later in the year.

Wonderful week spent at The Shippon.

Explored all local areas and will be returning in 2022. The thought of comfort and designing this barn conversion is excellent.

This is an amazing cottage, the conversion and all the finishing touches have clearly had a lot of thought, time and love put into them.

The cottage is comfortable, relaxing, clean and finished to a very high standard. Everything was perfect from the kitchen facilities, the amazing bathroom, the comfy bed and gorgeous fireplace. We loved every second of our stay here and will definitely be returning.

The best 5 star cattle shed we have ever stayed in. The accommodation has a very high spec finish throughout with every thing you need. The underfloor heating was lovely even though there was a log burner with all logs if required. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. The Shippon is ideally situated for local amenities ie. Shops/restaurants. Also ideally situated for exploring all of North Wales. The owners are more than happy to give you any information if needed.Hope to return in the very near future. A Beautifully presented and spacious barn conversion.

Fully modernised to a very high standard, exceptionally clean and some lovely features; beams, log fire and a very generous Welsh welcome pack. Excellent location for stunning walks and easy access to Snowdonia and surrounding attractions. Looking forward to coming again and we have no hesitation in recommending.

We had a fantastic stay at The Shippon, the cottage was beautiful and finished to a high standard.

There was a huge fire which my husband was desperate to light however the underfloor heating was more than sufficient for what we needed. After climbing Snowdon and Glyder Fâch the bath was definitely a bonus, my only complaint is that we didn’t book to stay longer.

The Shippon, a newly converted cattle shed/barn is a fabulous place to stay with great attention to detail and immaculate accommodation throughout.

So comfortable and cosy at any time of year. Underfloor heating, high spec kitchen and very large bathroom with shower and separate bath. Very nice welcome pack left of local produce which was much appreciated. The setting is wonderful and so near many attractions in Snowdonia and North Wales. Nothing is far away and the local village has everything needed from great tea rooms and local shops. There is so much to see and experience in this area from walking Snowdon ( or train!), to museums/castles and the Ffestiniog Railway . We will be booking for 2022!

The Shippon Cottage is simply superb.

I had a fantastic stay and wanted to spend as much time as possible resting in this cottage. Sadly I had things to do. The owners have clearly put their heart and soul into this project and it shows. Everything you need is there and it all just works perfectly. This location will be my first choice when visiting the area again. Try it, you won’t regret it!
