“Great that everything was on one level for a mobility impaired guest.”

Wetroom really was a plus. Location great for what we wanted. Ability to control heating appreciated. A few cleaning issues where details were missed: draining rack in kitchen had pink mould- clearly not been cleaned in a while; underside of bin lid also not clean (I cleaned both). Wetroom really was a plus. Location great for what we wanted. Ability to control heating appreciated. A few cleaning issues where details were missed: draining rack in kitchen had pink mould- clearly not been cleaned in a while; underside of bin lid also not clean (I cleaned both). Shower anti-slip mat showed signs of mould (we brought our own to use) and the wire wardrobe was dusty. The design of the cutlery makes it difficult to properly clean, alot had brown stains and despite there being a scrubby sponge, I couldn't get them clean. Would suggest throw out and get plain cutlery. On balance these are small things, and easily fixed by more attention by the cleaning crew (and different cutlery). Washing machine was great to have; the shower stool helpful for us; having a smart tv also a plus. We had an adult sleep in the second bedroom and were grateful for the metal framed bed which felt robust when compared to the 2 wooden beds. Bedding 100% cotton and bamboo mattress covers- very much appreciated to help keep sleepers comfortable. Welcome basket was a nice touch too, thankyou. We did contact the owner regarding an issue with the main house - Martin responded quickly and in a friendly way, and we were able to sort the problem for him, rather than someone else have to come. Overall we were able to relax and recharge which is what a holiday is all about. Ooh, and we saw an owl!

The property

The lovely, detached bungalow of Mill House Cottage rests in its own tranquil setting, nestled centrally but privately in the quiet village of Sarn Meyllteyrn in Gwynedd, within the breath-taking Llŷn Peninsula.

Resting in a wildlife haven amongst quaint, rural surroundings with a pretty, white-washed, and stone exterior, Mill House Cottage is ideal for a group of five who want to escape from the busyness of life.

Sought-after off-road parking spaces for two cars can be found next to the property, along with a sunny, gravelled garden with outdoor seating - a great location to dine alfresco or undertake a spot of birdwatching!

Continue up the ramp or steps into the property and you will immediately find yourself in a very spacious open-plan living space complete with contemporary interiors.

Unwind with your family on the seating in front of the Smart TV, before venturing into the newly fitted well-equipped sleek kitchen to prepare dinner, featuring marble effect worktops and grey fittings that are home to an abundance of appliances.

When dinner is ready, gather your loved ones and enjoy a meal at the dining table while you plan your seaside outings.

There is also a large utility/boot room accessible from inside or outside, which houses a washing machine, and is also a great space to store bicycles, wetsuits and beach gear.

Continue through to the bedrooms, selecting between a king-size, complete with a large bay window overlooking a field with sweet horses, and a very spacious triple room with views out to Sarn.

Externally, Mill House Cottage provides entertainment for guests in the shared games room, offering a range of entertainment with a pool table, table tennis, dart board, a PlayStation 3/Blu-ray player.

Featuring a strong WiFi connection, a 100” projector and an upgraded speaker system, this room can double up as the perfect gaming centre (use the PS3 or bring your own console) or movie theatre; a perfect way to spend a family evening in.

The extra large wet room is a superb spot to prepare yourself for the day, before venturing a moment away into the village to view the unique wares in the local pottery shop, or visit one of the two local convenience stores where you can grab essentials for a picnic before heading to one of the dozen or so nearby beaches for a day packed with sun and sand.

Freshen up before stopping for dinner in one of two village pubs, with Tŷ Newydd Sarn being the local favourite.

A short drive takes you to a large array of high end cuisine up and down the peninsula.

Sarn is perfectly located, allowing access to a range of exceptional beaches within a few miles, including the iconic Traeth Porthdinllaen with its world famous Tŷ Coch Inn beach bar and Whistling Sands, which is a jewel in the crown of the National Trust’s portfolio.

Sarn sits between in the middle of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), positioned between the rugged north coast and sheltered south coast, its rolling green hills paint a picture-perfect postcard of wide open spaces and spectacular vistas.

The property is also very well located for golfing trips, situated a short drive from a number of excellent golf courses that can be found at Porthdinllaen, Abersoch and Pwllheli.

For more coastal activities, visit one of the many rugged, remote north coast beaches which are characterised by being flanked and backed with grass covered cliffs, or visit beaches along the south coast recognised for their amenities and sheltered nature.

The local town of Pwllheli is a short drive away, where you can stock up on groceries, stroll around the Hafan Pwllheli Marina where you can watch sailing events via Plas Heli, or simply bask in the sun on its beaches, before boarding the town's train to explore the wider region.

Visit Criccieth with its historical landmarks, including a fantastic Castle, or visit Porthmadog with its Museum and Steam Engine experience.
