Mill House Cottage

The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and well located.

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. A lovely surprise was that the house was decorated for the festive season, and we were very happy to spend our Christmas holidays there.

Great that everything was on one level for a mobility impaired guest.

Wetroom really was a plus. Location great for what we wanted. Ability to control heating appreciated. A few cleaning issues where details were missed: draining rack in kitchen had pink mould- clearly not been cleaned in a while; underside of bin lid also not clean (I cleaned both). Shower anti-slip mat showed signs of mould (we brought our own to use) and the wire wardrobe was dusty. The design of the cutlery makes it difficult to properly clean, alot had brown stains and despite there being a scrubby sponge, I couldn't get them clean. Would suggest throw out and get plain cutlery. On balance these are small things, and easily fixed by more attention by the cleaning crew (and different cutlery). Washing machine was great to have; the shower stool helpful for us; having a smart tv also a plus. We had an adult sleep in the second bedroom and were grateful for the metal framed bed which felt robust when compared to the 2 wooden beds. Bedding 100% cotton and bamboo mattress covers- very much appreciated to help keep sleepers comfortable. Welcome basket was a nice touch too, thankyou. We did contact the owner regarding an issue with the main house - Martin responded quickly and in a friendly way, and we were able to sort the problem for him, rather than someone else have to come. Overall we were able to relax and recharge which is what a holiday is all about. Ooh, and we saw an owl!

You can't fault the location of this property - it's perfectly placed to explore all areas of the Llyn Peninsula.

However the cottage itself needs some TLC in order to match up to expectations and the descriptions shown. The double bed and sofas are extremely uncomfortable. These need upgrading urgently. Much of the cutlery, crockery, pots and pans in the kitchen were dirty or greasy. The games room was a disappointment - the pool table was broken, so were the cues, and the balls were completely mismatched. There was little space to play around the whole table and the rug was a trip hazard. The Playstation was a mess with controllers needing charging and the whole system needing a reset. Overall, the place felt like it hadn't been maintained or checked in weeks or months. With a bit of time, care and effort this place could be a real gem.

The accommodation is 'adequate'.

Most things are provided, however, the quality of the crockery, cutlery, and soft furnishings were very basic. Not enough pots and pans. There were only two of us. Heaven knows how five people could manage! The property had no heart to it -soulless, cold on arrival and smelling of damp. The electric shower produced a dribble of water and didn't live up to the concept of a wet room. Still no space for toiletries. Towels had a nasty smell. The pottery was closed and the butcher's shop is no longer there. The local garage did have a good range of food, etc. Fortunately the area was very beautiful and we went to some great beaches. Overall we were disappointed. We had high hopes based on the reviews, but sadly we didn't feel the property deserved it's high rating.

We rented this property last year and have just returned from a family holiday renting both houses.

The cottage was ideal for my son and his three children and a few yards from the main house and playback which the children loved.

Great accommodation- clean, modern and fresh.

Super location. Games was great for our teens.

Had a very comfortable stay at Mill House, it was spacious and had great facilities.

. Perhaps if the freezer was relocated to the utility, space could be made for a small dishwasher which would be useful. The hot water is very hot so be careful, and the electric shower is good. The property is in a quiet location and only 15-20 mins drive from some of the best beaches on the Llyn. Would happily stay again.

A damp smell when you 1st arrive and cold in the property until you turn the heating up.

Then it takes a bit to warm the place up. Crockery etc needed washing before use as greasy and unclean. Double bed needs a new mattress as it dips where people lie. The settee is low with no support on the cushion nearest the window, plus that’s past its use by date with lots of marks on it. The steps down to the laundry room need to be high lighted as I’ve tripped up and down them as you find it hard to defrienciate the edge. Dust behind radiators and on floor. Looks like the cleaner only does a quick sweep of the property it also needs a refresh of paint and there are marks on doors and chipped paint. The shower was very poor with now pressure, needs a handle lower down for those who wish to use the shower chair which is stored in the laundry room. A shower curtain would be appreciated also and shelving for toiletries and clothing when getting undressed etc. Location is great for exploring and plenty of bird life to watch from living room.

This is a wonderful location for exploring the Llyn peninsula.

Beautiful beaches within 10 minutes drive and lots of National Trust places to visit, along with little villages, harbours and places to connect with nature. The cottage is very well equipped, it had everything we needed and completely spotless. It does get humid and quite damp, but I think that might be the location, as there's lots of water and greenery around. This wasn't a problem though, as we were able to put a boost on the heating and it helped. We stayed with my son and baby and there was plenty of room, it was so comfortable. We will definitely be going back!

A lovely place to stay & relax.

My mum & I really enjoyed our stay at Mill House cottage, we found the beds very comfortable & we both slept well, the cottage is very well equipped especially the kitchen, the basket of shower gels, soaps & sweet goodies is a lovely idea. It is perfectly positioned on the Llyn Peninsula & easy to get to all of the outstanding beaches nearby. Thank you Martin for sorting out the TV & sharing your vast amount of knowledge of the area. My only regret is not making it to the Ty Coch Inn on the beach, maybe next time.

Wow, when we opened the door to Millbrook Cottage the shine was amazing, everything sparkled, fantastic.

We were looking for a cottage to suit a disabled person, wet room etc., and this was it, so easy to manoeuvre around the open plan area without getting assistance giving freedom to the wheelchair user, highly recommended. l would also say that it would be suitable for a family with young children the open plan great to leave them playing safely. Equipment is outstanding no need to take anything. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay apart from getting lost occasionally in the twisty lanes, part of the fun.

Well presented property.

The wet room could do with a chair for disabled people, we used the patio chair from outside to help. There is a bar which is useful to hold onto. We found the floor very slippy so we bought 2 anti slip mats to help. We found the double bed to be very low. Kitchen was well equipped with everything you need. Unfortunately we didn't find the settee very comfortable. Nice place to stay in that location, lovely and clean and extra touches ie: soaps, shower gels and flowers.

Mill House Cottage was a lovely place to stay it had all the amenity's you would need.

It is in a quite spot but is central for all locations on the Lyne peninsular. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this cottage you are looking for a peaceful place to stay. Would recommend the Tafarn Pen Y Bont pub for good food and drink. Marion the owner is very friendly and will go above and beyond to be helpful.

Nice stay everything you need is there however there is a strong smell of damp mostly in the kitchen and in the cupboards

Mill House Cottage is situated in a nice quiet location.

It was clean and spacious and comfortable. If we have to have a niggle, or two, they are; no electric shaver point, the double bed is a bit low for the more mature guest (this was mentioned in the visitors book by a few guests), the hot tap in the kitchen sink is dreadfully slow and we should have had our grandson to sort out the digital telly (we did sort it eventually). All of this was just us and didn't detract from our enjoyment of our stay at Mill House.

This cottage comes with everything you will need for a great break, the village is great with 2 pubs, 2 convenience shops and a butchers, all the villagers we met were very pleasant and helpful, the cottage is central to Pwllheli / Abersoch coastline and opposite coastline.

I would say this is probably the best cottage and location we have been to.

We loved every minute of our stay in Mill House Cottage.

It was very clean and tidy. I'm going to miss the bed as it was extremely comfy. My only regret is not having a pen so we could sign the guest book. We would definitely choose to stay again if we holiday in the area in future again.

The location and bungalow was excellent and the owners were lovely.

The only thing I would change for me personally is the beds and the sofas and having said that there is nothing wrong with them, they are really good quality, just not ideal for tired old bones like mine! There is everything that you would need for your stay and definitely recommend to others.

This was our second visit in 6 months and although the owners have changed, Mill House Cottage was just as lovely as we remembered!

The property is clean, spacious, comfortable, well kept and has all the facilities you would need! Martin obviously knows the area well and shared with us some interesting places to visit. We couldn't have been happier with our stay, even on the rainy days! Looking forward to our next stay already!

Clean and spacious well equipped cottage on the edge of a quiet,peaceful village.

Ideal base to visit all the best places on the Llyn Peninsula and beyond.Perfect for all and anyone with mobility issues would find the large wet room a joy to use. A 2 minute walk from a very well stocked local store and garage. Lovely friendly owners who introduced themselves but were very discreet.A welcome basket was much appreciated. Would highly recommend.

Very well adapted cottage set in beautiful surroundings within a very friendly village.

The wet-room is very good and plenty of room in the lounge for wheelchairs. Local shop has a good selection of both fresh and frozen food and Asda is in Pwllheli.

The property was immaculately clean, well maintained, well equipped and perfect for our stay.

It was very spacious and uncluttered, but still comfortably furnished, which made it a very relaxing and comfortable space to spend time in.
