Abermor

This was our first visit to Anglesey and to Abermor.

The house itself is larger than the pictures show with ample room in each of the rooms. The two bathrooms were great. It was very comfortable and nicely furnished with lots of storage space. It is located on the edge of Moelfre village and is only a short 10 minute walk to the small pebble beach.. Where you can find a lovely pub, Annes Pantry Cafe (which was fabulous) and ice cream shop and a small gift shop, slightly hidden away, which was also brilliant, lots of lovely items for sale. Our first impression was really good, lovely outlook over farmers field. However, we noted the arrival time on our literature from Sykes, was 3pm. We did arrived a bit early, 2.45pm and saw there was a car on the drive with a lady by it, so we drove down to the village and had a look around. We then returned at 3.20pm, the car was still on the drive, so we knocked on the door, a lady answered it. We said we were here, she told us that the arrival time was 4pm and she had been cleaning for 25years and it always was 4pm. Despite us showing her our paperwork which clearly states, 3pm arrival, she said they would be at least another half an hour. This was not a good start to our holiday. If the arrival time is indeed 4pm then that should be shown on the paperwork. Or the housekeepers should check each property they clean to check that THEY have the right arrival time. We did leave some up to date literature at the property, some of it was out of date. We also left a note for the housekeeper, explaining that there was something white, (looked like cleaning product?) on the bottom of the oven, that was there upon our arrival and that we did not create it. What would have been a nice touch, as it is in most of the properties we go to, would have been a little welcome pack. Just a pint of milk or a packet of biscuits or the like. This is a small thing, but it is the small things that make a property just that bit better. All in all, we had a fabulous time in Anglesey, there is so much to see and do that we will have to return some day. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone who wants to visit the area. Please just sort the arrival time out for future guests.

Abermore is very spacious and wellcoming there is everything you need and extras eg :a wine cooler ,the beds were comfortable and showers in both bathrooms very good lovely views Kinmel Pub served tasty food.

However the only suggestion we would make is bath slip mats in both bathrooms and perhaps a hand rail over bath to help getting in and out after shower ,We would love to come back in the future it is a lovely place

Very comfortable accommodation with everything you need for an enjoyable stay.

We had a lovely weeks stay here.

It was perfect for families, spacious and very clean. We initially struggled to find the property and had to ask for directions, but it was very quiet and we loved the enclosed garden. Our only issue was that we didn’t like the oven, it was not fan and we struggled to cook our food in it. However we would definitely stay again, it was a lovely little spot. Highlights included exploring Angelsey and the lovely little tea room in the village.

Fabulous stay with family at Abermor to celebrate a special birthday for my husband, lovely bungalow with fantastic views, sun rise was amazing, comfy beds and sofas, great garden with toys available in the utility, great time was had by all.

Moelfra itself was lovely and would most definitely book again, many thanks to the owners for providing a wonderful holiday home for clients.

Amber or is a lovely, warm,cosy but spacious property on the edge of the small village of Moelfre, which suited our 3 generations, from 2 to 73!

Well-equipped, very clean and comfortable. Communication with the owner was fine and we were given useful tips to make our holiday better - including advice on the nearby facilities in Benllech. It was a great base to explore beautiful Anglesey, with activities to suit us all. A highlight was the launching of the lifeboat and the fab ice cream shop in Moelfre. The Kinmel pub was & Ann’s pantry were great for food. Llanberis for the little steam train, Penryhn Castle, Portmeirion and Beaumaris were all super.

Abermor is a lovely bungalow and was ideal for our family group. It is well equipped, very comfortable and homely and is in a great location. It is a 10 minute walk from the centre of Moelfre - pub, cafe, ice cream shop and pebbly beach. There are 2 huge sandy beaches within 20 minutes walk or a 5 minute drive.

This is a lovely cottage.

Location well suited to seeing Anglesey in location with views over open fields to the rear and some sea view from the front. It was well appointed and clean. Beds comfy and warm - and internally extremely good for folk with limited mobility (there are steps to the front of the building). We had a lovely time. I have sent a couple of very small suggestions directly to the owner.

Lovely location, had a lovely time on Anglesey walking and exploring the island.

Shame the cleaner hadn't done the kitchen floor or kitchen units there was bread crumbs everywhere also the porch floor was very dirty Details says there is a village shop but isn't one.

Had a great 3 night break and everything was excellent thankyou.

the owner was very helpful and pleasant answering any information we asked. We all felt a lot of thought and effort had been made to make the property safe and welcoming.

Lovely property.

Spacious and clean, good distance to the beach and local amenities. Well stocked kitchen though oven was a bit temperamental. Loved the log burner and sitting room. Very cosy. We really enjoyed watching the sheep and lambs in the neighbouring field.

A lovely home from home in an absolutely perfect location.

We had a great Christmas in Abermore , loads of space for the family to spread out , the views beautiful, and walking around the village/ coastline stunning . Loved it ❤️

Abermor was perfect for an extended family holiday.

Spacious, clean and well equipped. The location was perfect too, a short walk to the village, an excellent village shop and a choice of places to eat. My daughter would particularly like us to mention what a helpful and friendly neighbour we had.

This was an excellent property on the edge of the village with views over the countryside to the side and views to the sea over the houses to the front.

Ample parking at the front of the house and although the property is all on one level the steps up to the front door may be a problem for people with mobility issues ( this is pointed out in the property description, full marks for that) The house itself is bright, comfortable and well equipped and well positioned for local walks (there is an interesting ancient settlement 2km or so walk and also access to the coastal path is quick and easy. The local fish and chip shop was excellent and within walking distance. We also had a lovely lunch at Ann’s Pantry and the village shop was most helpful with our request for logs. There was a problem with water/heating which was dealt with promptly with phone access to the owner. Thank you

No issues & everything as listed. Plenty of room for 7 people with ample parking. Lovely little garden with seating & within walking distance of the village & all amenities. Perfectly placed for coastal walk to Ligwy and back via the Medieval village.

The cottage is in a perfect location with lovely views of sea coast, the beds were comfortable the log fire was an added bonus, the sunlight coming through the kitchen windows when having breakfast was great, such a lovely cottage, would definitely recommend this cottage, hopefully we will be back.

Myself and my husband very much enjoyed our stay at Abermor.

The house is spacious, well equipped and clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. It is only a short walk to the centre of Moelfre, where we enjoyed coastal walks, and great food at Ann's Pantry, the Kimnel Arms and the chip shop. The owner was very helpful when I rang him with a few questions prior to our trip. I would recommend Abermor as a place to stay.

Lovely week spent at Abermor.

The property was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Just a short stroll down the road to Ann's Pantry , ice cream parlour and the beach. The property is in a good location with many lovely beaches a short drive away.

We came with our family, including an elderly mother.

The property absolutely exceeded all of our expectations. Was very comfortable, clean and extremely well equipped. Would definitely recommend to anyone. And so, so quiet. We will be back. Very,very happy few days.

The facilities were great and the beds were so comfy. The owner was attentive and friendly. The views were amazing, and the property was in a great location especially for coastal walks. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

What a lovely bungalow for a holiday.

Everywhere was so clean and the beds were so comfortable. There was everything you needed in the property and a lovely garden to sit in. The village and seafront were only a short walk away too. It really is a credit to the owner,/cleaners.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Abermor, 4 adults and 3 children.

The bungalow is very well equipped with all that you might need and is very comfortable. We settled in very quickly and it felt like home. There’s also a lovely enclosed garden at the back, with benches and picnic table, plus a lawn at the front. Many games and children’s books are also on hand. We didn’t want to leave it was wonderful. Highly recommended, five stars.

It’s a pity the view was spoiled by the new builds.

However it didn’t spoil the holiday we had a great time, the grandchildren didn’t want to leave.

Generally a good spacious, comfortable bungalow.

The property could do with some updating of furnishings and decorations. Some kitchen items should be replaced (chipped mugs, well worn cooking pans for example). A dripping kitchen tap needed to be mended. The information booklet has very old, out of date material.

Had a lovely weeks Holiday at Abermor.

Very spacious and homely accommodation, probably one of the best furnished holiday homes we've stayed in. Great location and so peaceful. Dave was very approachable and helped us with a couple of queries. Will definitely recommend to Family and Friends...

We were pleasantly surprised with the size and the layout of the property.

It is always hard to tell from photos. It was in a good location with lovely views all around. The kitchen was well stocked with a good selection of glassware and crockery and even had a wine fridge. The shower room and bathroom looked like they had recently been refitted to a high standard. The bedrooms were nicely furnished and three of the four had hanging space/ wardrobes for clothes, with one of the bedrooms having limited storage space but having a television. The beds were extremely comfortable. It was nice to come back in the evening to a log fire, for which the owner had left a starter kit - thanks. We had several communications with the owner who was very quick to respond to my queries - thanks. We would highly recommend this property and would consider staying there again in the future.

Abermor is a lovely property, very clean and well equipped.

This was our fourth visit and the whole family came this time - there were 7 of us including 2 grandchildren and everybody enjoyed the week in Moelfre. We love having the log burner which makes it really cosy and relaxing in the evening after some long walks during the day.

The house was spacious for the six or us, We were three generations.

We slept well in comfortable beds and attractive bedrooms. The house was well heated and we even lit the log fire one evening which was very cozy, and added a touch of nostalgia. There are lovely views of the sea and hills and fields. Thank you to our host and of course to Sykes.

The Owners of this property have thought of everything to facilitate a group of up to 8 people and as a family of 6 we found it spacious and comfortable within a stunning location .

The additional bathroom / shower room and the constant hot water was a real bonus . I can strongly recommend Abermor and hence my score of 10

Ideal base for our 3-generation family holiday.

The house was well presented, clean, comfortable & well equipped. A couple of minor issues were responded to immediately by the owner. We tend not to return to places where we've previously stayed, preferring to explore elsewhere, but wouldn't hesitate to use Abermor again if that met our particular needs at the time.

Accommodation was extremely well situated with seven minutes walk of local chip shop ( would highly recommend ) and a further three to the beach area .

Bungalow was well furnished to a high standard and everything needed was on hand. Will definitely re book.

This is our second visit to Abermor.

Our first family holiday since lockdown and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This time we were able to enjoy the garden area with our 3yr old grandson. We always choose Moelfre for its locality and beautiful harbour and coastal walk right on the doorstep. Dave the owner is only a phone call away if there are any issues he is always happy to assist. Nice property in good location.

Furniture getting a little tired. Only two bathrooms could be a bit of a problem if all 4 bedrooms are being used, but for two couples the property is ideal.

The cottage was lovely with a lovely back garden.

The kitchen was well equipped and the beds comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Being the first occupants for 7 months, everything was fine and we appreciated use of the garage at the front for storing our bikes and beach-type stuff rather than keeping it in the cars or in the foyer.

The beds were most comfortable and there was plenty of comfortable room space for our three adults and two boys, in what they called their 'holiday house'. Nearby facilities were all very convenient and more shops and takeaways are also available 10 mins away at Benllech. Great beaches all around plus interesting Neolithic sites within walking and cycling distance.

Area is lovely regular bus service and pavement access to the centre of the village. Lots of friendly locals. Nice areas to walk.Wish we’d had this weeks weather but can’t complain as the changing weather gave us entertainment and beautiful rainbows

Abermor is a lovely holiday home.

I would say it needed locks on bathroom doors though for that little bit extra privacy (high up locks so children can't reach). It is in a nice area quite central to get to everywhere. I did try to purchase the breakage insurance but unfortunately did it on the day we arrived, so you would not accept it, which I suppose was fair enough. Other than that I find Sykes Holidays a good place to start looking for you next holiday. Many thanks.

Plenty of room for 7 of us. Enclosed rear garden was ideal for our grandson to play. Beach and pubs within walking distance. We would have loved to stay another week it was so relaxing

Liked the fact that we were provided with plenty of mugs, plates, cutlery etc.

not just the 8 of everything as this was the number the cottage accommodated. Bathrooms & showers were great and it was a very comfortable home from home. The only improvement I can suggest is a little more storage for the bedrooms but all in all had a lovely week

Perfect house in s fantastic location.

We have been coming to moelfre for years and this has to be one of the best houses we have stayed in. It was clean, tidy and well equipped. We went on some lovely walks. Will definitely been staying again.

We were blessed with good weather.

The cottage was very nice clean and comfortable and in an excellent position. Any criticism seems churlish but if I had one it would be the situation/siting of the Bathrooms. One at each end would be better but 3 would be great.

Abermor is in a great location with views over the snow clad mountains of Snowdonia from the living room, where we sat in the warm glow of the wood burner during the evenings.

Three generations of the family all enjoyed a quiet and peaceful week with coastal and country walks, Good food at local pubs and restaurants. The one next door and the Ship inn at Red Wharf Bay are particular favourites. It is definitely somewhere we would like to return to.

Facilities and rooms could not have been better !

One tiny point, would have welcomed some small shot glasses and some smaller tumbler glasses, say 6 of each. Found the front steps difficult because the handrail does not go down to the drive, and that first step is rather high. yes i know there is a ramp too. We found an excellent place for Sunday Lunch - not cheap but well worth the money - Lastra Farm, but you must book. The attention to detail and the quality of the food was superb. Plenty of attractions to visit. I enjoyed the Moelfre Life Boat museum, and of course we all enjoyed the fish and chip shop, but go easy on the chips, enough to feed the next cottage too ! For a garden centre, Holland Arms was great, and their afternoon teas too. Really enjoyed the Pili Palas Nature World - not a big zoo by any means but excellent for what it was and great coffee too. And some of us managed to see a red squirrel - on the last day, in the Newborough Forest, a lovely quiet place to visit but the boardwalk was too difficult for a wheelchair. The Plas Newydd gardens, well more grounds than gardens, were no joy with the chair either, uphill/downhill and on gravel. Shame we were too late in the season to get a boat ride through the Menai Straits but mum had a paddle in the sea ! It was a lovely place to spend a week.

A great bungalow which was suitable for 2 families to share without being in each other's way.
