The bungalow is well equipped and was clean.

Well-located close to Black Rock beach. Fairly small back garden that was fully enclosed and therefore safe for children and dogs. Grass was very long and badly needed cutting. The only downside for us was the mattress on the king size bed. This was extremely firm and this made it very uncomfortable for us.

The property is in a great location within easy walking distance to the beach,nearby chip shop, pub, and convenience store.

Inside the property is spacious and well laid out but it does need a good refreshing which was also noted in the Guest book by previous occupants. Whether these are read i begin to doubt. Please don't get me wrong we loved the place and the issues did not spoil anything and would return.

Very dog friendly, nice garden if the lawn had been mowed.

Nice kitchen loads of equipment and very good appliances. Shocked that there was no pillow protectors on any of the beds and no mattress protector on double bed, mattress also needs to be replaced. Shower trap dirty and the shower tray flooded, we put bleach down the trap and that helped. Shower cubicle needs or a good clean. Patio door very hard to open and as it is the main entrance to the garden has a lot of use so the handle is now loose and had lots of dog nose marks on it. Barbeque in garage is rusty and surrounded by dog hairs and cobwebs. Two seater sofa had greasy head marks on the back of the sofa, to feel comfortable sitting on the sofa we put a towel to cover the marks. Lounge carpet needs a deep clean. If the cleanliness and maintenance were dealt with the bungalow would be a really nice place to stay as it is quite and close to beach and pub. The owners of this property need to pay a visit to see for themselves how it is being maintained.

We had a lovely stay at Glanaig.

It was really quiet and peaceful, even though it was on an estate. The bungalow was surprisingly spacious. You are in walking distance of a beautiful long beach Traeth y Greigddu. (Black rock Sands if you don’t understand Welsh!!,}. Kitchen was quite well equipped for all needs. Town and facilities short drive away. Definitely stay there again.

We have been booking holiday accommodation with Sykes Cottages for a number of years now and have come to the conclusion that there are “pros and cons” applicable to all of the properties we have stayed at.

In regards to Glanaig are feedback is as follows: Pros: A well-equipped spacious bungalow, which is ideally located for Black Rock Sands and Porthmadog. This property is also ideally suited for dogs, as the back garden is full enclosed and there is a dog table and dog dryer in the garage. There is also a room with two large dog crates, but we had no use for them with our two Cockapoos. The Wi-Fi has a strong signal, which was useful for all our electronic gadgets, but we did find the TV a little awkward to use compared to our own. We used our Netflix, Disney, and NOW TV accounts on the Smart TV, but remember to sign out of all accounts before you vacate the property. Cons: My wife and I are both accustomed to sleeping on an expensive top of the range mattress at home and found both the king-size and double mattresses VERY uncomfortable. We also found the settee quite uncomfortable, which is not ideal when you want to settle down for the evening. And finally… the grass in the back garden was very long, which made it quite difficult for us to find and pick our furbabies dog poo. We thoroughly enjoy our stay at Morfa Bychan and would highly recommend this area for a vacation, but are unlikely to re-book this particular property, due to the issue with the beds.

the bungalow had not been cleaned properly beds had not been changed i phoned sykes and someone came within the hour and cleaned up for us the bungalow was well equipped and spacious and in a great location i would definately book again if the television which is a pain was changed having to sign in to watch tv was too much trouble mr and mrs lloyd

it is a lovely bungalow, situated in a quiet, well maintained housing estate.

About 2 miles, or so, out of Porthmadog town centre. Black Rock sands is only a few minutes drive further down the road. The house is nicely decorated and furnished, and is spotlessly clean. There is a small enclosed rear garden. Dog friendly. 2, large double bedrooms, and 1, single bedroom with twin beds, and another bedroom with 2 dog crates in. However, we do not believe ( only our viewpoint ) in keeping dogs in crates, and so these were not used. A good sized kitchen with a very modern cooker and microwave, fridge/freezer, and all the utensils and crockery for a full family of four. There is a dining room with a large table and 6 chairs. Everything well maintained and useable. Lounge with 2 large setees, and a TV that no one could work properly. I messed about with the TV for 3 days, and eventually gave up. Reading the guest book, other visitors have had the same problem with the TV. It needs sorting out, and a proper instruction leaflet with it. I, eventually put our own Prime account on the TV and then removed it afterwards. If guests are staying in at night, they need a working TV - not one that only shows 100 channels of obscure rubbish that no one wants to watch !! Owners please note . All in all, a nice holiday stay for us 2 people, which was definitely marred by spending hours trying to operate the TV.

Lovely cottage, we have stopped there before & would stop again.

Only problem was that there was no terrestrial TV Signal, We contacted the maintenance company who said they would come out and look at it the following day but they never turned up and it wasn't resolved. Didn't want to complain as we had a wonderful stay but it needed sorting out.

Lovely bungalow.

Ten minutes walk to the beach. Well decorated/maintained, clean and spacious. Would stay again.

We had difficulty with the key safe, it was difficult to open.

We had difficulty with the Video player and TV, it needs instructions for the older less tech minded. But overall the property was very good. I straightend the bungalow key as it was bent and cleaned the patio door runner to make it easier to open. If I had my tool kit with me I would have made a few minor repairs. We did have a wonderful holiday. We will book with you again for next year.

Bungalow was dirty and smelly (of old cigarette smoke).

Shower needed cleaning when we arrived. Plates in the cupboards still have left over food on them. No instructions for the bins, we put them out to match the neighbours but they didn’t get emptied. Bedding very creased (I iron mine at home) and most things smelt dirty. On the plus side lots of hot water, garden was secure and location was good. We have stayed in this area before and this bungalow was “dingy” and under parr - needs a thorough clean and some money spent on it. The fridge was too small, the cooker rusty and dirty. It wasn’t the most expensive property but a level of cleanliness is expected

Perfect location to explore, did have a slight issue initially with the keys to access as the key for the consistory door was slightly bent so hard to unlock On arrival Also had gardener just appear in back garden with no warning could cause a problem if our dog had been in the garden!

This was the second time of staying in Glanaig, lovely bungalow in excellent position for walking the dog to the beach every morning.

Very well equipped for humans and dogs. Another excellent stay was had by all.

Home from home, loved the dog room.

Well equipped but if remainder of family had been able to come we would have struggled with such a small freezer compartment as their dog has fresh raw dog meat which is frozen.

We have stayed here before but this time the weather was very kind to us.

The bungalow is in a fantastic location & very spacious, clean and comfortable. The only improvement from our point of view is that a small freezer rather than just a small top of the fridge section would have been really useful. We noticed from our last stay in March 2023 that the cooker looked in a forlorn state from the outside but it did work so would not put us off from a return visit.

Perfect place to book.

Close to the beach and not far from the shops. Owners have thought of everything to make it safe for dog owners. Lovely and clean plus 3 big bedrooms to pick from.

There could have been more information in the welcome pack regarding housekeeping, bins and local amenities.

We had problems with the heating/hot water but maintenance and plumber came quickly to fix it. I also had problems working the main oven, might be a good idea to leave instructions on how to get it working. Also bins had changed but no new instructions on when/ if we had to move it for collection. All easily fixed I’m sure.

Glanaig is a lovely bungalow on a lovely small estate of bungalows about 10 minutes walk from the fantastic Black Rock Beach absolutely ideal for walking your dog.

The bungalow is spacious and well equipped for your stay it just has a few little niggles but nothing major (as with most holiday lets) I will definitely stay again.

Was surprised to receive a message from the management team asking our sleeping arrangements for our upcoming stay but this was resolved satisfactorily.

The bungalow is spacious and generally comfortable with an enclosed garden which was fine for our two dogs. Grumbles are the grass was uncut, oven and hob have seen better days as has the king size mattress and a dishwasher would be helpful. Most worrying items were the light switch located in the toilet which was within reach of a sink and tap and the open drain in the conservatory area. However we enjoyed our stay very much. Lovely location with a glorious beach within easy distance and lovely views. We would certainly book again if we come back to the area.

On arrival the only toilet in the property wasn't flushing.

We phoned the caretaker and were told "well it was working this morning" eventually he said he would "phone the owner". Hardly a confidence inspiring response. On the plus side a plumber turned up within 30 minutes and had it repaired after a further 30 minutes. Very disappointed in the lack of recycling facilities / instructions. Surely not acceptable nowadays.

Great to have secured garden for the dogs Location great

The bungalow was in a great location and well presented with a lovely layout of the rooms.

Having previously stayed the Conwy side of Snowdonia we decided to change our location to the Porthmadog side and very pleased that we did. The location was much more compact & in spite of the terrible weather we had virtually all week we got out and explored what the area had to offer. Seriously looking at a return visit in Autumn in the hope that the weather is much kinder to us.

A home from home, with all you could need for a relaxed stay.

Facilities for our dogs was second to none, very well thought out. The nearby beach was our go to every morning, the dogs enjoyed their free running on the sands. During our October holiday the beach pretty empty, very few people and dogs on it at the times we went.

Absolutely fantastic property.

Very spacious, and clean. Would stay again, if we were going back to the area.

Property was great, even though we didn’t get to use it as we lost our dog 2 weeks before our trip, the bedroom set aside as a dog bed room was a fantastic idea.

The only thing I did was cut the grass as it was really long, unfortunately the garden bin couldn’t be put out as no 2022 sticker. It would have been nice to have had a couple of deckchairs and a sun umbrella. Would definitely use this property again.

Overall very good and would like to come again.

Mattress was a little hard and lumpy for our taste. Central heating timing had a mind of its own. It came on at 8am irrespective of the time set on the wall timer. Stool needed in shower room.

The bungalow was perfect, so comfortable and well equipped.

The enclosed garden was just what we needed for our dog.

The bungalow is in a lovely quiet, peaceful spot with great views and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The bonus of dog room and dog dryer/blower were great when we came back from beach! Garden peaceful too. Beach 10 min walk with good Beach club nearby for food and drink.

Glanaig was perfect for our stay.

Everything we needed and a perfect base for exploring the area. Quiet . Comfortable beds and sitting room. Pretty enclosed garden for us to sit with the dogs. Kitchen well equipped for cooking meals . Addition of a dishwasher would make it perfect but we managed. Chip shop close by. Great weather we all enjoyed our holiday. Annette Ian Betty and Elsa.

Lovely spacious bungalow.

Would benefit from a good clean of all paint work including skirting boards. Although all equipment required is on site we really didn’t expect to have to cut the back garden grass when we arrived so that we could enjoy sitting in the garden.
