Thank you for your feedback. We made the decision to allow smaller dog breeds only, due to the space in the property and garden. As dog owners ourselves, we know how much space dog beds/crates etc take up, as we feel that larger dog breeds would fill the space very quickly, particularly if at full occupancy. The seating in the open plan lounge/kitchen/diner allows for a range of different options for up to 5 guests, including a sofa, armchair, large footstool/pouffe, desk seating, plus the 5 breakfast bar stools. Additionally, there is a full dining suite and large corner seating area outside for warmer days and nights. These are all shown in the photographs, so guests can see before making a booking if the layout would work for them. Best wishes, Jayne and John

We work hard to try and include as much as we can for a comfortable, self-catering stay, and we're so pleased we got this right for you. The pub in the village is a real welcome asset; and agree, that the shop in the village is somewhat limited for supplies. Takeaway deliveries are limited but there is one in town, Ochirly that will do home delivery. They have a website where you can order online although delivery can be slow in busier months. Thank you for your feedback. We take a lot of pride in our many 4 and 5 star reviews so are disappointed that we didn’t meet your expectations on this occasion. We ask guests to let us know asap if there are issues (such as cleanliness) so it can be addressed quickly so have been unable to deal with these issues for you. The kitchen cupboards are cleaned thoroughly each month - yes, it is an older style kitchen, but still in great condition. A gardener visits monthly; your stay was in between visits and following a long period of hot weather. The garden furniture is portable so guests can position it to their own liking. We notify guests that it is oil fired heating (as is the whole village) but have never felt the need to photograph the oil tank. The kitchen roll was left by a previous guest, as was the dishwasher tablet (as its self catering, guests generally provide their own household items.) However, we do provided washing up liquid, cloth, bin bag, hand soap, shower toiletries, and a bottle of wine as a welcome gift. The tv is a modern (around 4 years old) SMART tv and is obviously colour. However, we have purchased a new WIFI tv which will be installed this week, to provide guests with a wider range of tv choices without the need for an aerial. We are sorry not to have met your expectations with our property. We do feel that we get it right for most people most of the time. Best wishes, Jayne and John

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are planning to install French doors in the near future to replace the dining area window. However, the driveway and garden are fully enclosed to ensure dogs are safe when the main door is left open. The key to the lounge window is usually left in the handle - when we checked after you left, we found it had been left on the window sill behind an ornament. We calculated the distance to the beach as a walking distance (just over half a mile/approximately 10 mins walk), but you are right that it id a longer distance to drive. The beach access for cars is a little further away than the pedestrian route. It’s one of the few beaches where you are still able to drive on to the beach, which can be convenient for people. Unfortunately the kettle issue wasn't passed on to us by Sykes so we were unaware - our apologies for this. It has now been replaced. The shower cubicle access is proving tricky for some, but it is a standard size. Whilst knocking out a wall may seem an ideal solution, this would be a huge expense and would take the property out of action for some time (we have regular bookings). We also feel that having a separate toilet and bathroom does suit guests with families well. The French doors have been recently removed from the lounge to enable a better use of the space in the property; the kitchen window is next to be replaced and this will be with a French door (hopefully during 2024). However, this week, new gates have been fitted to the driveway side of the house, meaning if they are closed, the driveway area will now be an additional enclosed space for dogs, which can be accessed easily from the main door. We are glad you found the bungalow clean and comfortable and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Jayne and John

We are always looking for ways to improve the customer's experience of the property and will take on board your comments. The area is very quiet and the property on a side road, so the lack of blinds has never been an issue for us (we spend several weeks in the property each year). Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the property, as we work hard to ensure all of our guests have an enjoyable stay. PATIO DOOR HAS NOW BEEN REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH A LARGE WINDOW. We provide cleaning equipment which is kept under the sink should guests need to use anything during their stay. The main wardrobe has additional cushions, DVD's and games and a fan - all of which we feel may be useful to guests during their stay. We can only apologise that this may not have been put back tidily. The WC would ideally have a wash basin - this is something we will look to add in the future, but the handbasin is just next door as shown in the photographs. The windows are mostly 'tilt and turn' style, with instructions of how to do this, as they may not be familiar to everyone. We have recently added lighting and trellis to the garden, which has garden furniture, a parasol and is secure for those with children or dogs. The pictures of the garden are accurate and reflect that it is a suntrap and it is very difficult to grow anything when we are not around to maintain the garden to a high standard. The garden has lovely views over the surrounding hillside and has a traditional Welsh slate wall which we feel is a particular feature. It is large, flat and secure which we feel suits the needs of many guests. Once again, we are sorry that you were disappointed with the first impression of the bungalow. We take on board all comments and change things where we can. I trust that you found the area to be welcoming and attractive and managed to enjoy some time on Black Rock Sands. Jayne an John

EDIT June 23 - we have now replaced the tv in the main bedroom with a new, SMART tv which we hope will be easier to operate. We have also added some lighting and trellis to the garden which we feel makes the space more attractive. Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased that you had an enjoyable stay at the bungalow and it met your needs well. We always try and respond to customer feedback, so thank you for your suggestions. We will look to replace the tv in the bedroom as soon as we are able to - we are limited for space in there but will aim to get something bigger that will fit in the space. We are due to visit the bungalow in the coming weeks for maintenance, so will look to pretty the garden up a little whilst we are there. We have always found the space to be functional and it works well for those with children and pets, but we recognise it could be prettier. For clarity, the metal cleat in the driveway is a functional part of the gate -*The gate cleat has now been removed * The previous guests comments about her fall are being discussed/reviewed as they were factually inaccurate. As for the outside space, the garden is a suntrap and is exposed to a lot of sun for most of the day. We have tried to grow things in pots but without daily watering, this has been unsuccessful. The garden is hard landscaped (as per the photographs) and suits people with children and pets, due to it being flat and easy to clean. We need it to be low maintenance due to us not living nearby. We have considered the additional cost of employing a gardener but this would make the cost of the property higher. We have always tried to ensure it's priced fairly to attract a wide range of potential guests. As for the shower - it is a standard size cubicle. A bigger shower cubicle would not fit in the space. We are glad that you enjoyed the lovely area - it is a very pretty place, that we hope you may visit again in the future. We have now added lighting and trellis to the garden which we feel makes the space prettier.

As mentioned in the Welcome folder, we are in the process of updating some areas within the bungalow, including replacing a window and adding a dishwasher. This can be tricky to schedule due to the frequency of bookings. We decided to keep the property neutral and bright to appeal to the widest possible market, which we feel is reflected in the photographs. The tv is a SMART tv so allows for Netflix etc, plus customers use of NOW tv account so we only have the basic Sky package in the house. Whilst the Sky box is an older model, it is functional should you wish to watch the Sky channels. We do hope to welcome you back to our home in the future
