Y Goedwig

Really loved our 3 night August 25 break.

The dining table, highchair and bath all came in handy with our 2 under2s. The kitchen had everything we needed including coffee pods. It's worth noting the 2 singles are on the ground floor and the main room upstairs. My partner stayed on the ground floor with our eldest and me and the little one took the upstairs. We wouldn't have felt right leaving them alone downstairs. My partner said he slept very well in the single bed (I think you can also zip them together to make a double if you didnt want 2 singles?) The shop across the road is very well stocked and there is a pub we ate at just next door. The pub has a great beer garden. Over the road there is a restaurant and maybe a chippy. We didn't use them so can't comment. Location is excellent for access to lots of days out including beach trips and walks. We had a venture through the woods/forest to Newborough beach. We love it there but it was a challenge with a pram. We had days out to Rhosneigr and Holyhead as well as a little sea zoo with an outside park. Great few days away. Evenings we spent having tea at the pub or cooking easy meals at home. The sofa and TV set up were ideal for movie nights.

A great cottage and the proximity to the beach and forest was ideal

This house is fantastic, so comfortable and cosy- the bedroom upstairs was really tranquil, just like a forest setting.

It is much better than the photos and description. The beach and forest close by are beautiful, the pub and chippy are lovely, everyone friendly. The Oyster Catcher bar/restaurant with a beach behind it - a short drive away is fabulous. We’re very grateful for the lovely gifts left for us & our dog, we will be booking here again very soon.

We had a lovely stay at the property.

It was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The little touches make a difference. Our four legged friend enjoyed the jar of biscuits while we were grateful for the prosecco. A perfect location to explore Anglesey. We would definitely recommend this property to others.

A very well equipped and comfortable house.

Loved the decor. Second visit. Ideal location with well supplied shop, excellent fish and chip shop and pub on the doorstep. Really appreciated the delicious goodies. Lots of dog friendly quiet beaches to explore. Had a lovely relaxing week.

Great location for the sea, beach and forest as well as visiting places of interest.

The cottage was an ideal base for our Anglesey short break.

The facilities and cleanliness were excellent and welcome pack was the best we've seen! However there were a few niggles that could be improved - the beds in 2nd bedroom are only 2'6" wide, therefore only suitable for children, so unfortunately resulted in 2 ladies not sleeping well. Added to that, there was a lot of noise from the adjoining apartment between 10pm and 8am which kept us all awake ( sounded like children running around way after their bed time!) - so perhaps there should be some sort of soundproofing? The fact that we are three ladies who don't do late nights meant that it was a problem for us, and (in addition to the small beds) means we would not stay again. Perhaps the description should be adjusted? The cottage has been beautifully modernised - it's a shame that we had a few issues. There was also no reception for normal TV channels during our stay which might be a nuisance for some. Having highlighted all this, we enjoyed our mini break despite our issues!

Really enjoyed my stay.

Had brilliant weather so enjoyed exploring the island and gorgeous beaches. Even saw 2 red squirrels and a Sparrowhawk in the forest. Cottage was spacious and loved the decor. Such a comfy bed and sofa. Ate at the pub and had fish and chips from across the road. Shop well stocked. Perfect location for getting around. Loved the welcome treats. Thank you. Couldn't find the key to open the window. Hope we can return again. Enjoyed tea in a China cup after a day's exploration and watching the bats in the evening. Parked in the free car park as got quite busy on the road.

Wonderful cottage, spacious and comfortable.

Good location. Clean throughout. The only issue was the towels were a little worn out. Only one tea towel was provided. Minor really. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again! Thanks.

The cottage provided the perfect base to explore Anglesey. The beds were very comfortable and the decor was modern and cosy. The kitchen was spacious and very well equipped. A great location close to a very beautiful beach and the local pub was friendly and did great food. We did intend to leave a note in the guest book but unfortunately couldn't find a pen and were just about to leave. The only thing I think is missing is a washing line but otherwise the cottage had everything we needed. Thankyou for providing such a lovely place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at Y Goedwig.

The welcome pack was fantastic and much appreciated. Despite a very wet and windy week we had a great time in Newborough, walking along the beach and in the forest. We highly recommend Newborough Parkrun and Anglesey Golf Club was very welcoming. Aberffraw beach and Rhosneigr are a must and Holyhead mountain was a fab walk too! We look forward to visiting Anglesey again.

Fantastic property, lovely and modern, with all the little extras so you don't have to bring the kitchen sink, thoroughly enjoyed it, walked to the beach every day.

Lots of space, nice and clean .There was everything we needed . There was a lovely welcome pack which was a great starter for our holiday . Thanks to the owner for thinking of everything . The area itself is easy to get around and near a lovely cafe and pub . The shop is across the road. Newborough itself is easy to get to and easy for visiting other parts of Anglesey . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay .

We had an amazingly holiday and lots of places to see just a short drive away. Anglesey is beautiful! The owners left dog treats which was a nice thing to do. Thank you

The cottage was lovely and we all enjoyed a comfortable stay and was ideal so close to the shop, pub and chippy.

To make the cottage even better there is room to upgrade the twin beds to single beds and the double to a king size. The twin beds were ok but more suited to younger children not teenagers as so narrow.

The property was lovely and we enjoyed our stay.

The pub next door was a bonus, we ate here and the food was good, limited menu but very nice. We visited the pub twice during out 4 night stay. Beds comfortable and the lounge was also comfortable, probably a bit bigger than we had thought from the pictures on the site. We did have an issue during our visit which was addressed by the owner soon after reporting that issue. We would consider returning for another visit.

Lovely property well placed in Newborough village .

Well appointed had everything we could need.comfortable and clean. Well appointed, welcome pack great. Close to the dogs favourite beaches at abberffraw and Newborough . Tried the chip shop, for food the first night and the pub the second for food and would recommend. The red squirrel cafe would recommend even more highly both for lunch and evening tapas.

The property was lovely, very clean comfortable and well equipped.

It was in easy access of Newborough forest and the surrounding areas . The only niggle was no hair dryer or iron. We spent some of our time in the sea and as we were due to go out for dinner on the sunday evening, both items were essential.

There was no mention of live TV, most of it on Demand the following day ,aerial into TV would be good,had we bought are dog there wouldn't be a lot of room in the courtyard

Decorated very nicely. Ideal for Newborough beach which is beautiful. Would recommend taking a lot of food with you as local pub menu is basic, chippy is nice but nothing else in the town as cafe was never open.

The apartment was lovely and matched the description stated.

It was spotlessly clean. The welcome gift of bread, cake and wine was appreciated. Ideal location for the beach. I would definitely go back.

Overall we enjoyed our stay and the house was welcoming and a good base.

There were some nice touches, like a bottle of wine, milk and coffee pods, and some food there for us, and it was well furnished and comfortable. But it was lacking in other ways that we expected to be better. We were a family of four staying for a week so 2.5 loo rolls wasn't enough, there were no additional bin bags and no sign of recycling facilities. There was no laundry powder or laundry basket, and only a small clothes drying rack. A washing line outside with pegs would have been great. The bedding in the upstairs room was odd. There was only a very thin waterproof sheet on the mattress, no other sheet. And two of the pillows just had pillow protectors, no pillow cases. I did find some additional bedding in the little cupboard so used that. The house appeared clean to begin with but we were all covered in dog hairs after sitting on the sofa and chair each time. There was sand on the living room floor, and areas of dust and dog hairs that my two year old kept finding. There were dishwasher tablets which was great, but no salt or rinse aid and the machine was showing as empty. The kitchen was otherwise well equipped though. So overall we enjoyed our stay but we kept coming across these little things that stopped it from being great.

We had the loveliest stay at Y Goedwig, the place itself is gorgeous and had everything we needed and more!

The beach is just a 5-10 minute drive down the road and a few steps out the door to the pub and the shop. Perfect for the dogs and exploring Anglesey. We had a few little niggly issues with Wifi and the TV but the owners were quick to help us out. Would love to come back and stay sometime soon!

We loved our week in this fabulous house, the bedroom upstairs is so tranquil!

The forest & beach were beautiful, chippy & pub lovely. We drove to the Oyster Catcher & the beach behind it - it's fabulous - definitely when the weather is good anyway. A lovely, cosy, clean house & we will be back very soon. Thanks for great gift basket & dog biscuits, our dog loved it too.

We had a lovely stay here.

Bed was very comfortable and shower was gorgeous. All decoration has been beautifully considered, especially the little squirrel on the wall. It was lovely and warm. We enjoyed walking down to the beach and past the semi wild pomes we also enjoyed listening near by Halen Mon - though do book! Thank you for a lovely stay.
