Description

With stunning sea and mountain views, Flagstaff welcomes you to the peace and quiet of Penmon.Within an easy stroll of the dovecote, priory and Penmon Lighthouse you will be amazed by the wildlife, fauna and history that surrounds this beautiful property.

Once the Quarry Manager’s house it has been beautifully restored to welcome six guests.A wonderful mix of original quarry tiles, beautiful furnishings and modern finishing touches wrap you in a welcoming hug.

Enter a spacious kitchen dining room with all that a chef could wish for; the owner loves to cook, and it is evident to all who stay.

Armchairs sit by the large windows ready for friends to keep the chef company as feasts are created and the table for six is laid.Once dinner has finished guests can sit and relax in the panelled sitting room - with an open log fire to create the perfect feeling of contentment.

On balmy evenings, when the breeze may bring a slight chill but a fire isn’t needed, grab the cushions and sit in the conservatory like porch enjoying a sheltered spot and a glass of fizz to celebrate being on holiday.

Come Summer light the BBQ and dine al fresco watching the sun set, listening to the seabirds settle for the night.

Long evenings catching up on life, memories for the making.Upstairs there’s a choice of three comfortable bedrooms each with its own bathroom to make holidaying with friends or family as easy as can be.

Hypnos beds grace each bedroom, ensuring the deepest of sleeps. The Master Bedroom boasts a Super King sized bed and views across the Menai Strait to the mountains of Snowdonia. Its own bathroom ready for long relaxing baths or invigorating showers ready to explore the beauty of Anglesey.

Along the hall two further bedrooms sit, each with twin beds. The first shares the magnificent sea and mountain views and has the added joy of an en suite shower room. The final bedroom sits quietly at the back of the house, overlooking the enclosed courtyard - a twin room with a large shower room of its own looking out on mature trees.

Flagstaff is a haven of peace and an idyllic base to explore Anglesey from.

No need to do much on your first day, just stroll quietly to the lighthouse, swim and wander the shore breathing in the salty air.

A long leisurely lunch at The Pilot House Cafe restores your energy, allowing rock pool exploration on the same beach that started David Attenborough on his lifelong love of fossils and the Natural World.

Walk along the Anglesey Coastal Path and discover Penmon Priory - marvel at the dovecote and make a wish a St Seiriol’s Well before retiring back to Flagstaff ready to make plans for the next day.

Batteries in remote for heating and water were flat.

Meant although we had hot water, the heating was unpredictable and we couldn't control. Just a minor detail but non the less a little frustrating. Duvets on the 4 single beds are too small (continental size). They are insufficient to adequately cover an adult male. Spend parts of night picking up off the floor. Suggest they should be replaced with at least 3/4 size. Tog however is more than adequate. Other than these 2 minor issues our stay was really enjoyable, with wonderful views thrown in. We would recommend.

A lovely house, well-furnished and equipped and with magnificent views.

Very peaceful and enjoyed watching the red squirrels in the garden. We booked the house as a couple but with it's 3 good-sized bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, large garden and plenty of parking I would happily revisit with friends or family.
