Charming and spacious farmhouse with fantastic views from the conservatory and garden.

Barbara was a lovely host and we had a great weekend staying here with our large family and exploring the local area. Two suggested improvements would be a wifi booster to provide stronger signal around the house and a tad more plates to cater for larger group bookings.

Great cottage for our large family of eleven to stay in, plenty of bedrooms, lounges etc and very clean.

The owner Barbara was very friendly and welcomed us to her farmhouse she was also helpful with information about the local area and nice places to visit. Her pottery workshop which was on site was a great place for the kids to throw a pot and decorate it.

We have just stayed at this property for 3 nights.

We had a wonderful stay. The house is so spacious, and love that every bedroom has its own bathroom. Barbara is a lovely lady and so accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Great that piggery pottery is on site and so much fun for all ages, we all joined in. The youngest was 4 and the eldest 70, there was something for everyone. We went twice, one to just paint a pot and once to make our own pot on the wheel. The house is in a great location with plenty of things to do just a short drive away. We would love to return for another stay one day. I slept fine in the beds but a couple of the party found the beds a little uncomfortable but that is just a personal preference and wouldn’t put any of us off returning again. We truly had a wonderful time at this property and wished we had booked to stay longer.

The accommodation was excellent for our mix of family.

The sitting room and conservatory were lovely to spend time in. The kitchen appliances were clean and looked new and were just right for our needs.We really enjoyed our stay. Barbara was so friendly and welcoming and her Pottery was a bonus. There were one or two omissions which would have been useful Only large towels were provided. No hand towels for the bedrooms. In the kitchen, there was no washing up liquid and not enough dishwasher tablets. Only one tea towel was provided. More chopping knives would have been useful. There was only one provided. But these things didn't bother us, really.

We have just returned from a week here as a family of 14.

We have absolutely loved our time here and could not praise Ddol Helyg or Barbara any more. The views are absolutely breathtaking, especially whilst sat in the conservatory. No matter the weather the mountains look spectacular. There is more than ample parking spaces and the outdoor space is lovely and private. Houses that sleep 14 generally have smaller entertaining areas but this house has more than enough space for 14 to sit together comfortably in the lounge or around the dining table. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with more than enough crockery and cutlery as well as a huge oven, two fridges, a freezer and two kettles. Each bedroom has its own en suite as well as a separate downstairs bathroom and bath which was well used by us. Having Barbara right next door for any advice was brilliant and her incredible buisness ‘Piggery Pottery’ was loved by our family from aged 3 to 90! We spent hours painting and relaxing at the pottery studio and took home not just items we cherish but some wonderful memories too. Llanberis is 5 minutes up the road with lots to do and see (we loved the lake steam railway) and Caernarfon 5 miles away and Anglesey 20 minutes away you are not short of things to do. The garage/spar shop being a 5 minute walk away was so handy and the chippy and CoOp as well as the nice pub in Llanrug 10 minutes walk away was great. We couldn’t praise this house enough, our party ranged from age 3 to 90 and all of us loved it. Being so close to nature and the countryside was wonderful, breathing fresh air every day and waking up to the spectacular view of snowdonia mountain range was amazing. Barbara is a wonderful host and couldn’t help us enough, she was lovely and left us a beautiful basket of treats on arrival. 100% would recommend

It's the perfect location to access the area . Great downstairs spaces for larger groups and excellent parking facilities . Nice outdoor space which was safe for children and the dog . Good selection of kitchen facilities and we appreciated the provision of cleaning products .

Lovely house, we, as a family loved our holiday, great base, would definitely look at this house again.

Everything was lovely, and the host was very helpful and attentive. She has a ceramic workshop next door, which we had the change to visit - such a nice touch! Our only complaint would be the mattresses; they could be more comfortable. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!

Barbara is a lovely host, the children loved going round to the pottery painting and makings bowls it’s very close to all exciting things to do.

The lake only 10 minutes away was great fun but busy! We had a lovely week there and would def go back

The home is beautiful and we loved it. We would definitely stay again! Apologies again for the curtain rail. If a soft toy is found with “Alba” written on it, please could you let me know? It is my daughters and she was sleeping with it in the bunk bed room and it hasn’t turned up when I unpacked.

Lovely setting and close to all local amenities.

Barbara was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.The farm was ideal for our extended family get together along with our family dogs.

The house is gorgeous as is the view . Ideally placed for hiking and climbing snowdon as well as beeches and North wales . Barbara the owner an absolute gem who sponsored us for our walk up snowdon . Delightful farmhouse, very comfortable.

Loved having an en suite in every bedroom! Hard floors everywhere which was great for the dogs. there was an air fryer in kitchen which came in useful. Loved the view from the conservatory especially when it snowed. Handy for everything the area had to offer. The owner Barbara was extremely helpful but unobtrusive. Amazon deliver as well!! Hope to return

Ultimately, this was a perfect place for our family gathering which included a number of dogs.

Barbara was very helpful and friendly and would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a large property with great facilities and fantastic view of the mountains, a short distance from everywhere you might want to go. Great value.

The property is actually as described in the listing, plenty of rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms; it easily accommodated my party of 7 adults and 1 child with additional beds to spare.

It is centrally located with Bangor, Caernarfon, Conwy and the beach at Dinas Dinlle all easily within 25-30 mins. For the walkers, Llanberis and the start of the Llanberis trail is 10 mins away. Wi-Fi is limited but the freeview tv and telephone signal are good.

The property is very large and was able to comfortably accommodate our party of 11.

Moreover, the rural situation of the property means it is very quiet. There is ample parking. The property is a 10 minute drive from Caernaefon and we found it to be an excellent base from which to explore Snowdonia and north Wales. The owner, Barbara is very friendly and we visited the Piggery Pottery on a rainy day. The pottery was a big hit with the children. One point for improvement would around general wear and tear of the property. The bedding and pillows around the property appear to be well used and dated. A small investment to buy new ones would improve the quality of stay. Moreover, although everything is in working order, the property would likely benefit from a general update and refresh esp. in the kitchen. Overall we had a pleasant experience and the property was good value for money.

Had a lovely time,accomadation was roomy ,beds comfortable,and had everything we needed ,it was nice having the conservatory to sit in,only downside,was not having walks straight from the door so had to use car everyday but we knew what to expect so was not disappointed, owner very friendly and welcoming so thank you Barbara

Barbara was very accommodating and helpful. Views from conservatory is lovely. Plenty of space and sitting area. Barbara also opened the piggery pottery for us. We will surely go there again

Very spacious accommodation with 5 bedrooms all with en-suite and a further bathroom and toilet downstairs.

The location is ideal for exploring the area with Llanbris, Caenarfon and Anglesey all within easy reach. There's a good beach approx 5 miles away called Dinas Dillne and a pub within walking distance. We liked the feel of the farmhouse and the views from the conservatory are lovely. We didn't like the lack of a proper wifi signal - although there was a decent 4G signal for our mobiles.

This was a return stay at Ddol Helyg Farmhouse and we had a wonderful holiday.

The views are stunning and the location is perfect for a variety of activities. Thank you Barbara for making us feel very welcome and a highlight has to be time spent in the Piggery Pottery. From steam trains to spectacular castles; sandy beaches to mountain climbs this area has it all.

We were there for 10 days for my 50th birthday and had a great time.

The farm house holiday cottage was wonderful. It never felt too cramped even with capacity occupancy or too large for a family of four. The owner, Barbara, is really nice and very helpful we even did some painting in Piggy Pottery next door and was equally enjoyed by the adults as much as the kids. We are thinking of rebooking next year. One thing you may not immediately understand before visiting is how central it is to most of North Wales; Conwy and Carnarvon are within easy reach, shops and a friendly little pub are within walking distance.

We had a fabulous weekend celebrating my husbands 60th!

15 of us & everything we needed. The farmhouse/cottage was perfect, big & confortable. Barbara the owner couldn't have done more for us & making us all feel very welcome. Highly recommend staying & we hope to definitely book again. Thank you Barbara!

Excellent property.

We picked a bad week as it was constantly raining and windy, but nonetheless we made the most of it.. It was a bit cold in the lounge and the conservatory. What kept it cold was that all the radiators throughout the house need bleeding as they were only warm at the bottom.

Had a brilliant weekend stay.

Lovely cottage with all amenities available. Plenty of bedrooms and on-suite bathrooms to cater for a large group. The downstairs bathroom and seperate toilet in laundry room was the most valuable of all as it was easy accessible from downstairs. Kitchen and dining room was bang on and the conservatory was nice to sit in the evening. Can't really complain about anything as host was very accomodating even when I phoned for a few queries which she gladly helped with. A brand new BBQ with extra disposables were also given which was a nice touch. Lovely place with a lovely host. Really enjoyed our stay as we had a large group. Will highly recommend to others. Will definitely stay again when I return to Wales.

The property is in a wonderful location with plenty of nearby attractions for all ages and if you are not one for wandering, the views from the house are magnificent. We were made to feel very welcome with some lovely Welsh treats. Dorothy is such a magnificent and talented host. We spent two glorious hours at the Piggery Pottery. We have already recommended it to some relations and friends. We will be definitely be returning.

We loved it here would stay again, just could of been a bit cleaner.

We all had a great time at the Farmhouse and if we are ever in that part of the country again we would definitely re-book. My daughter and grand-daughter really enjoyed the Piggery Pottery which is on site. Welsh cakes and Bara Brith bread on arrival was a lovely, special touch.

We had a lovely stay in a great property located perfectly

House needs a good make over and a good clean ,Two of the toilets had broken seats and one of the handles was hanging off also one was leaking slightly.

The kitchen floor had to be cleaned by us as it was dirty around the edges.The drawers in the kitchen were hard to open, Lots of dust on window ledges and an abundance of huge cobwebs everywhere. It is a nice property and in a lovely area but it needs new furniture and a good clean,We couldn’t have used the barbecue if we had wanted to as it was very rusty and dirty ,

Lovely farmhouse for the 14 of us in our party.

The weather was really hot (30° and no wind) which made the upstairs very warm at night. Great location with lots of attractions less than an hour away. Barbara the owner greeted us on arrival and couldn't have been more helpful.

The cottage definitely needs a bit of TLC as the furniture was looking a bit tired.

Some of the taps were leaking and the showers were just a drip. Also, a gate would be useful so that dogs and young children can be out in the garden. The garden is lovely and big, it’s a shame the dogs and young children couldn’t enjoy it. The owner was lovely and made us feel very welcome. The welcome pack with cakes and flowers was a lovely touch. We didn’t go to the pottery (which surprised us all as we had been looking forward to it). But there was so much to do in the area, we didn’t have time.

We had a great time in the house, plenty of room, lots of kitchen space, and a lovely homely feeling.

Everything was very clean and although a couple of the sofa’s were a bit battered, there were plenty of cushions and throws. We spent most nights playing cards in the conservatory looking at the mountains! Barbara was lovely and we had a great time at the Piggy Pottery!

Very disappointed with cleanliness and shabby furniture, not worth the money I paid for the property.

It was a great break.

The house was. A great size which allowed our big group to come.tocwther when needed aswell as spend their own time in their own spaces. All facilities were available that you would expect in a holiday home. Mount Snowdon was only three miles and many other attractions were close buy. Would definitely reco.

The owner of the property was a very nice lady.

We were, however, expecting the general condition of the house to be better. The bathrooms are very small and ill-equipped. The communication with the landlady is over a landline only. This is harder to convey any problems such as our master bathroom shower did not work ( did not manage to communicate this forward to her) especially as my network did not have full coverage in that area. We had to take the property one hour later and leave it by 9.00. This is not the luxury or comfort we expected. No large TV screen and bearly any connection to Wifi so working from there or streaming movies for kids was very difficult. For this amount of money spent I was expecting much more. Wales, however, was beautiful and we are looking forward to coming back.

Great big house, fantastic for group holidays.

Loads of space inside and out Great location for getting to all the attractions in the local area. Could do with another set of plates and cutlery etc as when you have used one you have to wait for the dishwasher to finish Or have 2 dishwasher's? TV in main room could do with being a bit bigger. One of the showers caused a leak but we told the owner who said she would sort it. We had a great time, brilliant cottage/ house in a great location.

Barbara was very helpful in deed, with it being Christmas she put lovely decorations up and Christmas tree, the children loved it.

the pottery was very good, moving forward for the summer maybe a bbq to use outside would be considered.. also some more larger lamps for the main room, as found it a little too bright with all the main lights on. apart from that it was very good. thank you Barbara for all your help.

A perfect location and facility for a multi-generational holiday - the house, like the owner, makes for an easy and relaxed experience - not luxurious, but everything we could have possibly needed in terms of kitchen equipment and kindness.

The conservatory and garden were a joy in the May sunshine, and an evening painting in the pottery gave us more happy holiday memories. Barbara's local knowledge was considerable - there is a master baker and an award winning butcher tucked away in the village environs, and we ate wonderfully well!!

We rented this house as part of our golden wedding celebrations, so that we had enough space for all our family to visit during the week.

The house was ideal, plenty of space and with excellent views. The area was very pleasant, Llanberis is very near with lots to do, and we also had a good day in Anglesey. The weather was also kind to us, with the warmest Easter on Record! The piggery pottery provided some hours of entertainment especially for the younger members of the family - and also for some of the older ones! Barbara was very friendly and very welcoming. All in all an excellent week.

We stayed here for my sons 21st birthday and had an amazing time the owner was very helpful and she had put flowers in the front room which was lovely the other little touches like the Welsh cakes and tea and coffee was lovely too thanks for a great stay in your lovely cottage xx

Barbara who owns the property couldn’t do enough for our party of ten.

So much so that we’re returning back in September 2019. A highly recommended holiday home, proprietor and area in Snowdonia.

The house is in an ideal location for lots of walking & sight seeing and has a great view from the conservatory .

A lovely pub nearby . Llanberis has good shops & views & a lovely lake to relax by . Highly recommended .

Great farmhouse in a really good location for walking/hiking.

Well equipped and warm in the winter. Barbara the owner is great and very friendly. Many of our group visited her pottery on site and had a great time throwing a pot for a very reasonable price.

Fantastic place with loads of space and lots to do.

Barbara, the owner, was very welcoming and the kids loved her piggy pottery craft centre.

The pictures in the advert were clearly taken a few years ago.

There is mould around some of the showers and the house did have a slightly run-down feel to it compared to other holiday houses that we have stayed in. Nevertheless it is excellent value for money with plenty of space to socialise in. The host was lovely and the pottery barn located next door was fun. Every bedroom had an en suite which was beneficial considering the size of our group. It’s a really good base for climbing snowdon (snowdon is a 10 min drive away).

So good to come back to a well equipped and cosy accomodation after a days walking in snowdonia.

This is a very beautiful house in a magnificent setting.

We had a fabulous celebratory 60th birthday for my husband. It enabled family and friends to meet together and enjoy everything that North Wales had to offer. We were near enough for many of the attractions such as walking up Snowden (or going by train) as well as the longest, fastest zip wire in the world. A local hotel facilitated our desire (as non-residents) to use their pool. We enjoyed many walks in the area as well as visiting Caernarfon Castle; Conwy Castle and Bodnant Gardens which were stunning. Barbara was very accommodating and nothing would have been too much trouble - she responded quickly to our requirements. We especially loved the garden which had a stunning view. The house was comfortable for our needs with plenty of hot water available for everyone.

Great house for a family reunion as there's plenty of lounge space for the different generations to sit and talk or play games; especially useful given the Welsh weather!

Good value for money and plenty of facilities and activities nearby for a range of age groups.

A great location and good number of common rooms for a group.

Also nice to have decent en suites although some were better than others and good to have extra shower and toilet downstairs. Linen would be better in white, coloured linen never looks clean enough. Mattresses on the soft side. Despiote these slightly negative comments, a great place and location and a lovely landlady. Will return quite likely next year!!

Ddol Helyg Farmhouse is a beautiful cottage with an exceptional view from the conservatory where we spent so much time.

Barbra was very friendly, and a visit to the Piggery Pottery is a must, no matter what age you are! The Y Glyntwrog Inn is just a 5 minute walk away, serving lovely home cooked food - what more do you need!

Kitchen is a bit 'tired' but adequate. Another cooker would be useful as house holds 14 and two cookers when catering for a large number, if eating in a lot, would be easier. The 5 en-suites were perfect for a large family group so no fighting over 'facilities'. The younger ones among us and some of the older ones enjoyed pot making in the Piggery Pottery.
