What a beautiful cottage, it is fitted with everything you would need and is very clean and fresh, It is so peaceful and has a lovely secure garden with plenty of space for your dogs to play and explore, This was our second visit to Ysgubor Ucha and we will definitely be back.

This is our second visit to this beautiful cottage.

It's such a magical place, with everything you could possibly need. It's so clean and welcoming and fresh and modern with a cottage feel. All natural materials used, which I especially love. The garden and all the different trees, shrubs and flowers make you want to sit outdoors. The peace&quiet and the fresh air, the views surrounding the cottage are incredible, too. Karyn&Neil, the hosts are nothing short of life's good people and being in their company, whether it be for a short or long chat is a delight. Their kindness and care go way beyond. They both make the cottage a truly special place, as well as their gorgeous doggies. We can't wait to return again next year. Gill Jack and Jasper xx

The cottage was exactly what we expected. Clean, comfortable a real home from home. We had everything we needed to make our holiday perfect. The welcome pack was great, with treats for Bailey (our wee dog) a great touch. We have stayed in many properties over the years and this lovely cottage is one of the best we have stayed in. Peaceful location, ideal for touring the local area. We will definitely be going back. Thank you to Karen and Neil for their warm welcome, the use of their fantastic cottage. We throughly enjoyed our stay.

A beautiful, secluded cottage.

Well maintained and supplied. Highlight was sipping a glass of Prosecco on the sunlit patio to the sounds of sheep in the nearby fields. Lovely welcome pack from owners, Kathryn and Neil, who couldn’t have helped us more. Great place from which to go visiting the sights of North Wales. 100% recommended.

There should be a warning that the kitchen hob is an induction type that would not be suitable for anyone with a heart pacemaker.

Also a satnav is essential for finding the cottage and ways in and about. The owners are extremely friendly and obliging. This was one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in. It’s a great place if you want peace and quiet and fabulous views.

This is the best cottage stay we have ever done!

The house is so well equipped with a washing machine, tumble drier, iron and ironing board and dishwasher. The house is beautifully tidy, clean and warm. We loved it and would definitely go back.

Just love this cottage, this is our 3rd visit and definitely won’t be our last.

We take our two dogs which just settle in straight away. The cottage is spotlessly clean and so comfortable. We love the walks that are all within a short drive. Love just chilling in the peace and quiet. The welcome goodies are much appreciated and such a kind gesture- thank you so much, again !

We had a lovely three nights at this cottage with our furry friend, to get away from the noise and the fireworks of the city.

It was very rural and very peaceful, the only noise was from sheep baa’ing outside the bedroom window and the occasional tractor passing. It was warm and comfortable, the bed was super comfy. The log burner was nice. The thoughtful welcome gifts were lovely. All in all, we would visit again.

A gorgeous little property with great facilities.

A quaint stone built Welsh cottage with history even down to the stone masons marks above the two fireplaces. We arrived late afternoon in the dark and the owners came out to meet us to direct us to the house. The bedroom was spacious, lovely nice and warm and the bed was comfortable, we had very restful nights sleep. The welcome pack was great, a nice touch after the drive. Everything was as described, perfect. The only thing that could be improved would be an enclosed secure rear garden to allow small dogs to have access to. We would book again in the summer months.

This was our 3rd stay at this cottage and we have another 2 booked for next year karyn and Neil are wonderful hosts there welcome pack is a lovely thought The cottage is so relaxing and that's what me and my partner love about the place as we both work hard throughout the year so looking forward to a week there every November when the weather is changing.

It's just so cosy and comfortable.

A beautiful cottage in quiet rural surroundings,Neil and Karyn were next door but respected our privacy.

Excellent accommodation, comfy bed, great welcome pack and with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We cannot recommend this cottage highly enough, we will certainly be booking again .10 stars.

Such a beautiful cottage and the main thing that hit us as we entered was just how much care, thought and love has gone into making the visit so welcoming for guests.

We had a lovely surprise of a welcome pack with welsh cakes, bread, fresh eggs, milk, homemade jam, beautiful fresh flowers and a jar of dog treats all on a beautiful bespoke hand made wooden board. The cottage has a rustic charm with a beautiful secure cottage garden all around that had lots of areas for our dog Hunter to explore. It is so peaceful and quiet. There is an amazing view of fields and hills from the bedroom with sheep and pheasants. The bed is so comfortable. Such dark skies here too. The cottage is really well equipped with lots of extras like tea, coffee, sugar, iron, hairdryer, washing detergent etc. It's also spotlessly clean. A great experience, very relaxing and honestly can't say anything was missing. They have thought of it all. Thank you very much!

Ysgubor Ucha is a delightful & humble little cottage with a wrap around garden & a private gate, with off road space for one vehicle.

But don't be deceived, inside the property both the kitchen & bedroom are spacious & very well equipped with fridge freezer, single oven, microwave & washer drier. Off the kitchen is a modern shower, toilet & sink which is very smart, with little extras such as a stash of toilet rolls & face flannels. We were invited to switch the central heating settings to constantly 'on' from timer, should we require as the colder nights draw in. However, with the addition of a complementary large log burner & basket of logs in the cosy lounge, you really are spoiled for choice. We appreciated the welcome milk, loaf, eggs & homemade bramble jam... a treat to find on arrival after a very long journey from Surrey. Having a very curious and hyper alert Boxer dog, we appreciated the peace & tranquility of the location & especially the kindness & understanding of Neil & Karyn who, as dog lovers, were sensitive to our dog's needs, not to mention the doggie treats, & stash of clean towels for him. We discovered a lovely setting nearby with a charming pub called The Leyland Arms, where the puddings were divine! A small settlement with a large cricket green & tiny clubhouse, and a small community park. The Landlady couldn't do enough for us, & the pub had a welcoming atmosphere with two large tabby cats, one you wouldn't want to mess with! We thoroughly enjoyed the serenity of the cottage & gardens & the beauty of this setting & the Dee Valley. So much so, we have booked again for next year... What a glorious find.

Dora the greyhound loved the garden and dog facilities. I loved the peace and quiet with the best view. Cottage immaculate with everything needed for a comfortable stay.

The cottage was all that we were looking forward to and more.

It was warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean. There was a welcome tray, a thoughtful addition. The views of the Clwyd Valley from the bedroom were lovely. The situation was very rural, the perfect spot for exploring North Wales. We had a wonderful week and we hope to be able to return.

We had such a fantastic time at Ysgubor Ucha. The cottage was spotless – really clean and tidy – and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It felt so welcoming, like a proper home away from home. One of the nicest surprises was how dog-friendly it was. Towels and even toys were provided for the dogs – such a thoughtful and appreciated touch! We’d definitely love to come back and would highly recommend Ysgubor Ucha to anyone looking for a peaceful, well-equipped getaway.

The cottage was very clean, quiet and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We received a welcome pack (with eggs, bread, jam, milk) which was a great touch. Our dog enjoyed playing in the large secure garden and munching on the dog treats provided. It is a lovely part of the world with great views and we found lots to do - only wish we had booked for longer. I would thoroughly recommend.

Lovely comfortable cottage, set in beautiful and peaceful countryside

The gardens are an absolute delight,sitting outside on the patio in the evening sunshine was a lovely way to wind down.

Kitchen is very well equipped for any cooking task. Welcome pack a very lovely kind touch and with fresh flowers on the table. The Shower was a joy to use after a day of exploring Wales.

Excellent Property and Nice garden for the dog.

. Great view from the bed of the mountains and hills. Was well equipped and shower was the best we have had in a property. However the extractor fan switch should be mentioned in the instructions. Only found the switch when I realised we have one in our wet room and there must be a switch in the kitchen for the bathroom.

A real gem of a property with lovely host.

In a wonderful location surrounded by farm land this is a real home from home, all you could need with a lovely secure garden which our two Norfolk Terriers loved to explore. A lovely welcome pack for us and the dogs made us feel welcome straight away. Was lovely to meet our host, can nothing but recommend a stay as you will not be disappointed.

Lovely little cottage, very comfortable and a great location to explore north, east Wales.

The cottage has great views and is on a quiet lane with a small garden. We enjoyed watching a good selection of lovely garden birds and plenty of owls in the area. When we arrived there was a great welcome pack left for us with Welsh cakes, free range eggs, milk, home made jam and treats for our furry friend. Also dog toys which our collie enjoyed. The cottage is well equipped and is furnished with good quality furniture and a very comfortable bed.

Amazing welcome gift when arrived and beautiful set up as dog friendly too. Hosts were amazing and there if we needed anything (but we didn't as everything set up perfectly). Location brilliant in the countryside and easy access (via car) to all the sites around. Would 100% recommend staying at the cottage, you will not be disappointed.

Just returned from a fabulous week!

Everything about our stay was amazing, from the text from the owner to say the property was ready for us, when we were on our way, the welcome pack, to finding the superbly clean and beautiful, well equipped, cosy, warm property on our arrival to closing the door as we left ! Most importantly our dog settled in right away which is always a relief to us, and the tap outside was extremely useful for washing off muddy paws after a day of exploring the nearby forests. The view from the bedroom is a real treat … you won’t be disappointed by it if you choose to stay here! Along with a lovely log burner housed in a beautiful fireplace, this property is a real gem ! The friendly owners of the property live next door, and are on hand if there’s any problems.. which we didn’t have, they also maintained our privacy throughout our stay! We hope to return one day soon and would definitely recommend the property to family and friends! Thank you for having us x

Absolutely perfect.

Spent a wonderful and relaxing week at this idyllic cottage. Very comfortable and all the amenities you could wish for, especially the washer/dryer for a week in North Wales in the wind and rain with two wet dogs and two humans!! Lots of dog friendly walks and places to explore within a 90 minute drive but a pure feeling of isolation once tucked away in this cosy cottage.

Beautiful secluded cottage located in the Welsh countryside.

The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed. TV had Netflix and there was also a DVD player with a selection of DVDs. Very accommodating for dogs with a huge secluded garden. We will definitely be visiting again.

Our second visit to this property 9-16 November 2024 and it is still five star.

The cottage is so warm and comfortable with everything you need at hand. Mid autumn and a bit chilly but a blanket on the settee, likewise blankets in the bedroom but get the fire lit and you will leave them where they are. Our border collie Jonty still sits all day in the garden and this year he had company in the adjoining field, the sheep were out, just sat and watched. Utter heaven, thank you Karyn and Neil.

Well kept very clean and tidy. It has everything you need for your stay. This is our second time at this cottage but not our last we will be back for another relaxing stay. The cottage was cosy,clean comfortable and well furnished.

The kitchen was well stocked (although l missed having a steamer!)the bathroom warm,the shower perfect. The view from the very comfortable bed was beautiful. There were many little touches,fresh flowers,dog towels,brushes,poo bags. Homemade jam,eggs,bread,Welsh cakes and milk. Very dog friendly secure large garden for dogs with a field next door we could let them chase the ball in(luckily no livestock during our stay). We were able to visit many places within an hour or less. Owners next door were lovely and the stay was topped by seeing the Northern lights on our last night!

Our stay in the cottage was just wonderful.

There was everything you could possibly want or need and very dog friendly. Owners Neil and Karyn were on hand for friendly advice if needed. So peaceful. We would very happy to stay again.

Very dog friendly even supplied dog towel’s dog treats and toys. Secure garden which is much bigger than you see on the website photos. Cottage is clean spacious adorable peaceful and feels loved. We loved our stay there and will definitely book again.

Amazing stay we loved every second.

The garden was perfect! There was everything we needed and the cottage was very clean! Our only slight issue was with the shower it went from scolding hot to freezing cold super quickly and it was either really powerful or just dribbling out. However we were able to use it and everything else was absolutely perfect! Thank you!

When we arrived we were met by the owner who was very nice and showed us the way into the cottage by way of a lovely path through the amazing gardens down to the front door.

When we went into the cottage it was so nice, homely and very comfortable it had absolutely everything you needed even down to towels for the dog if he got wet plus plus toys and dog treats !! The bedroom looked out over fields and the cows often came up and knocked on the windows to say hello Which was amazing- all in all a perfect place to stay so quite and relaxing which is what we wanted but close enough to lots of places to visit and pubs to eat at and great walks for our dog.

This truly is a beautiful cottage in a peaceful & serene location.

The owners are equally as lovely & made everything perfect for our stay. The spacious cottage is cosy & spotlessly clean. The kitchen is well equipped, the bed is a king size & super comfy, the views from the bedroom window are superb. It has a gated private parking space & the cottage garden is beautiful & private all round. We will definitely return here, it was a gem of a find & is a wonderful haven to relax. Close to Llangollen & many other great attractions but not to close to spoil the tranquility of this peaceful, countryside location. We loved. it.

Fantastic cottage the best we have ever stayed in.

Everything was supplied and the welcome tray was a brilliant touch. All facilities were 5 star and the garden was fabulous to sit in and enjoy the sun.Really quiet location. Sun beds were also supplied. Shame we only had a couple of days there to enjoy it. Definitely recommend this to anyone hopefully be back soon.

We enjoyed our stay in this nice and comfortable cottage very much.

Although it was a bit cold and rainy we and our dogs could spend some hours in the nice garden. The surrounding landscape is wonderful and we loved to be visited by the cows in the evenings.

PERFECT STAY If you want to be away from it all surrounded by fields sheep, lambs and pheasants then this is definitely the place to be.

We stayed for an extended period and couldn’t fault any of the facilities offered - Karyn has provided everything you need for a home from home The location if you are looking for rural countryside is perfect - we woke up to sheep directly below our bedroom window every morning and pheasants in the field and lanes nearby All major attractions, walks and beach are all 30-45 minutes from the cottage and the local pub does excellent meals and a great Sunday lunch The weather(rain

The perfect getaway.

Simply cannot be faulted! The hosts were very considerate and the little touches throughout the cottage enhanced what was a wonderful holiday for us. Highly recommended, felt like home the moment we arrived.

Lovely countryside location, within easy reach of local amenities. The rigors of everyday life can be left behind. Everything that you need & require is available at this wonderful property, so you can immediately relax & begin to enjoy your time there. The lovely sized enclosed garden is ideal for all size dogs, however, as per the property description livestock in adjoining field so be mindful. The hosts are also accommodating & if during your stay have any questions, problems they are more than willing to help Cannot, will not, fault this gem of a hiide-away. Will return to enjoy further explorations of the area.

We had a lovely 5 night stay and would highly recommend this cottage.

Our dog loved the enclosed garden. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The cottage is in a remote area with the owners living next door, we never saw them but they were there if we needed them and had contact via text. We loved the log burner and the spacious kitchen diner. Fantastic views from the bedroom window. Lots of nice walks nearby and a pub down the road in walking distance. Peaceful and relaxing. There are no negatives at all, would definitely return.

This place is so quiet and the owners are so helpful if you need anything , it is out in the country with not around the place, BUT don't be put off by that as it is so peaceful , the enclosed garden was great as we have 2 small dogs , and only 10 minutes drive in to town , we will definitely be going back again .

We enjoyed every minute staying in Ysgubor Ucha which is in a perfect tranquil location.

The standard of everything is excellent, extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean and welcoming where simply everything has been thought of even down to the generous welcoming extras for both guests and their dogs. The cottage is the most dog friendly place we have ever stayed in and is in a great location - our walking boots covered a lot of ground Moel Famau and surrounding peaks, Clocenog forest trails and the Llantyslio mountains and it was always an amazing feeling to return to such a very warm cosy cottage. We had a wonderful stay, Martin and Noel the owners were fantastic, I would recommend to stay at the cottage, it was beautifully kept and there was everything you needed, the views were spectacular and was lovely to wake up each day to field and no neighbour's, it was the most relaxing holiday I have ever had, we are definitely going to book again.

This is someway to being the best holiday that we have had.

The cottage is superb, snug and warm, lovely and clean and the hosts are great, nothing to much trouble. The area is beautiful and the locals are really friendly. Can recommend the Leyland Arms for some fabulous food and the walks for the dog are brilliant especially Loggerheads and Clocaenog Forest. Two lovely ladies at the church in Corwen getting ready for the Remembrance Service were busy cleaning but stopped for a chat as did everyone we met on our walks. This holiday takes some beating, thank you Karyn and Neil.

I can't praise this cottage enough.

It has every modern feature whilst maintaining period charm. For a one bedroom property, it is spacious and the enclosed gardens which surround the cottage on three sides are lovely and secure. I took my labrador and he loved the outside space whilst I felt he was super safe. A small dog may need to be watched in the front due to the gate onto the road but a medium to large dog will be fine. Karyn and Neil, the owners, left a generous welcome pack - eggs, bread, Welsh cakes, milk and delicious home made jam - together with some dog treats. They live next door and so are on hand if you have any questions but leave you to enjoy you privacy and it is a private space. Handy cleaning products are left which is helpful e.g. washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets, new cloths and sponge. There is a large wardrobe and set of drawers in the bedroom with plenty of hangers and an uninterrupted view of the hills. The spacious kitchen/diner and bathroom are modern and there is outdoor furniture front and back. The little touches mean a lot, fresh flowers and a lovely tray customised for the cottage. The living room has only one small window - it's a cottage - so it is a little dark during daylight but we weren't really there much during the day and the rest of the cottage is so spacious and bright that it isn't an issue at all. In fact, it's really cosy at night. If anyone has mobility issues, there are a couple of steps inside the cottage but you probably wouldn't choose this location if accessibility is essential. The front access is sweet - slate covered paths give that comforting crunch as you walk through the trees and plants. There is plenty of space for your dog to sniff and search at the back and there are plenty of dog walking and dog friendly places to visit. We loved Loggerheads. All in all, this is a lovely cottage with everything you could wish for.

Lovely enclosed garden which our dog adored sniffing round. Gorgeous big bedroom with fantastic view. We were met on our arrival and Neil and Karyn answered any questions but also gave us privacy. Loved the rural location and getting away from everything. We did some lovely walks and was wonderful to light the fire in the evening, so cosy. Would highly recommend and happily return

The garden is beautiful. Lovely location and views. Central for touring the area, National trust Erddig & Chirk. Llangollen / Aqueduct & Ruthin park (good for dog walking).

We had a great time relaxing at Ysgubor Ucha, the property had everything we needed, including a welcome pack and it was incredibly maintained.

It was very clean and so blissfully quiet. The hosts were lovely people. We can not wait to book again for the future.

Cottage was lovely and comfortable with the right amount of facilities. Great space for our dog to explore and interact with the friendly cows! The owners provide totally privacy the cows however do not!!!

An excellent cottage with all the home comforts you could want.

It is in a lovely location with lots of walks on its doorstep. The welcome tray was thoughtful and appreciated. The cottage is ideal if you're taking your dog as a lovely garden and owners who provide a drawer full of things for your dog including some treats. Very friendly and helpful owners who are nearby if you need anything but also respect your privacy. We would highly recommend this property.

Lovely comfortable Welsh traditional cottage with modernised interior.

Peaceful location with views over the countryside. We especially loved the dog secure garden for our pet. Would certainly recommend the local village pub for good food, they even do takeaways! We found it an ideal base for visiting the coast and rural locations such as Llangollen. The friendly owners, who live next door, left provisions for our arrival which were very much appreciated and we especially loved their homemade strawberry and rhubarb jam. For those with mobility issues be aware there is a high step into the property. Also a high step from the living room into the kitchen area with another step from the kitchen into the bathroom. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend.

This cottage didn’t disappoint, it was beautiful.

The views from the garden are lovely. Our dogs enjoyed the garden which is fully enclosed and safe, my dachshund is an escape artist, the only place he would escape is under the front gate, so we just put a piece of fencing across the access to that part of the garden (piece of spare fencing found by the cabin in the garden) owners didn’t mind. Safe and secure is important for us as we want our dogs to roam around and enjoy the garden. Inside the cottage was well equipped with modern features but lots of character still. Beautiful view from the bedroom window and French doors onto the garden from the kitchen/diner. Welcome tray when we arrived which was a lovely, and fresh flowers from the garden. Lots of basic’s provided, toilet rolls, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, teabags etc. cosy living room with log burner which we didn’t need to use but lovely, and a comfy sofa. King size comfy bed, good size bedroom with a fantastic view. From the cottage with our dogs we visited, conwy, Llandudno, betws-y-coed, swallow falls, Denbigh, Lake Brenig, Ruthin, Bala Lake, Llangollen, loggerheads. The weather was mainly dry and not too hot for July so ideal for dog walking. Pub a mile down the road which do good food to eat in or takeaway. Very dog friendly, in the pub and the garden. A mile isn’t far but it is very hilly coming home so be warned. I struggled to walk up those hills, and I thought I was quite fit. Couldn’t do it after a full meal. The owners lived next door who were very helpful if you needed anything, but didn’t bother us at all. Space for two cars which we need as we take both our vehicles. This is a wonderful place to stay, either to explore the surrounding countryside or just chill in the beautiful gardens. Great for dog walkers or couples wanting a romantic getaway. I would highly recommend it.

A lovely, well equipped cottage and stunning garden.

Really peaceful and quiet area. The view from the bedroom window overlooking Moel Famau is lovely and it’s not too far to travel by car to walk the hills. Luckily we had great weather, so overall, us and the dogs had a great stay at Ysgubor Ucha.

Secluded with stunning views. It felt like home the moment we arrived. Lots of beautiful walks within easy reach by car. Brilliant if you have dogs the enclosed garden was perfect.

We stayed here in March 2023 and had a wonderful time, even in the heavy snow at the end of the week.

Karyn and Neil were such welcoming hosts, and the cottage was very comfortable, exactly as described on the website. Our two dogs loved running round the secure garden, and waking up to sheep outside the bedroom window brought back memories of my childhood. The cottage is a good base for exploring North Wales. Rhyl and Colwyn Bay were within easy driving distance where we met family, and friends. We also explored Ruthin and Llanbedr, where my relatives going back to Thomas Evans born in the 18th century, were born and died. We will be coming back.

The property is just perfect.

It is very quiet and relaxing. The garden was ideal for my dog to feel secure and had lots of space to investigate. Inside the cottage was very comfortable, had a good selection of home-from-home items, excellent appliances and was of a high cleanliness standard. The ‘welcome goodies’ were much appreciated and very tasty. We will definitely be back and would recommend to family and friends.

Beautiful, comfy cottage in a very quiet position.

Fantastic garden with lovely views and wildlife. Owners were on hand (live nextdoor and by phone) if we needed anything. Had everything we needed for a great (if not) wet holiday.

We have stayed in a number of cottages over the years and this property is the best so far.

Everything you could ever wish for. Clean, comfortable, everything provided for a stress free, relaxing break. The hosts are really nice people and nothing is too much trouble.

My husband and I stayed here with our dogs for a week.

It was so lovely. The cottage was perfect, had all the facilities you needed to feel like it was a home away from home. The garden was perfect for the dogs all fully enclosed with plenty of space. Our hosts were on hand for anything needed, they live next door to the property however, it did not feel like we had neighbours. It is a quiet and peaceful location. We spent the week walking so didn't visit any of the local attractions but when looking and getting out and about there was plenty around close by. Would not hesitate to return to this property and location, we did not want to leave!

Full size fridge freezer which was a nice touch as most just have a fridge with ice compartment. Neil and Karyn lovely friendly hosts. Have rebooted for next year.

I booked this break for my grandparents for Christmas as a gift so they could have a break and take they’re dog too.

Upon arrival they were greeted with lovely treats to eat, which they both absolutely loved. They said the cottage was beautiful and the views were breathtaking. What a lovely quiet escape from it all.

Such a wonderful welcome with home baked bread & scones, jam, eggs and milk waiting for us upon our arrival too! So cosy and beautifully furnished with everything you could possibly need. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was great. The dogs loved the little garden and listening to the sheep and pheasants, whilst being safely secure. I can't recommend this little slice of heaven enough. We'll definitely be back!

It was very warm, cosy and comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped with everything you needed. The views across fields were stunning. Would definitely recommed this property and we have already rebooked for another week later this year.

The location is really rural which we love. The cottage is well fitted out and very comfortable. We would like to mention how accomodating the owners were as we had to delay our stay and Karyn was extremely helpful. Also very easy to contact the owners whilst there even though our phone network had no signal at the property. Would definitely recommend the cottage.

Then when we got in the cottage we were blown away by its beauty. It was well presented very clean and had everything we needed for are 5 dsy stay.. The welcome pack of eggs milk scones home made bread and Jam were an absolute treat and what a nice touch thst is they truly did think of everything.. we are already thinking about booking again next year its a fantastic place to just unwind..I strongly urge anyone who is looking for a stunning little cosy cottage to relax and unwind to choose this one were glad we did ..

We had a wonderful stay at Ysgubor Ucha and was very sad to have to come home.

The cottage is stunning, spotlessly clean, beautiful garden and very private. Upon arrival we had been left freshly baked scones & bread along with them some eggs, homemade jam, a pint of milk and some treats for our fur babies all of which went down a treat. My husband and I only briefly met the owners Karyn & Neil as we spent most days out and about exploring Wales but nothing seemed to much trouble and they were very welcoming and it was a nice touch that Karyn did send text messages to us. We will certainly be returning and hopefully staying longer.

Ysgubor ucha is a beautiful little cottage, deep in the countryside, north of Llangollen.

It is decorated to a very high standard and contains everything two visitors could possibly need. We loved to sit out on the patio in the pretty garden. Karyn and Neil live next door, but they showed us round, then left us to enjoy our stay. The amount of lovely goodies we found was amazing…..including freshly baked scones, most welcome after a long journey. Thank you both so much. Rod and Jan Callow

Short trips in many directions takes you to some fantastic walks. The owners were wonderful and really helpful. Lovely little touch to add the welcome tray with home made jam and scones! We had a lovely week and can’t fault any of it at all. We will defiantly be back as soon as we can!

Most comfortable and relaxing holiday in lovely accommodation and surroundings

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this delightful and comfortable cottage, set in a peaceful and lovely part of rural Wales.

The property had a very secure enclosed garden for our dog who loved it, and If you want a quiet location away from busy main roads, you should find it ideal. Yet there are all the usual local amenities in Ruthin just a short six mile drive away, which is well worth visiting in its own right. I won't go on about all the places of interest to visit as they are many and varied, and you'll find them for yourselves. But I must make mention of our holiday cottage owners, who provided the most generous selection of welcome goodies we've ever experienced. Little things like that just make a stay even more memorable. Thank you both.

We loved this cottage it feels remote but yet is only a short drive to the coast or local shops its very clean and nicely presented and very private even though the owners are next door they are lovely friendly people the welcome tray was amazing we even got more eggs during the week I cant fault it I would definitely go back it's faultless

A lovely little cottage in a great setting surrounded by fields and fantastic views especially from the bedroom window.

The garden was ideal for our two doggys well fenced and private even though you still need to keep a eye on in case of life stock. Plenty of places to visit, so a car is essential. We would recommend this and will certainly return in the near future..

This beautifully accomplished cottage is exactly what you need to unwind and enjoy the tranquility. We felt immediately at home as did Gwen our dog who loved the garden just as much as the first time, it is a completely safe area for you pet to enjoy and sniff about in. This home from home was completely perfect for a week away to explore the fantastically stunning area. What made it even more special was the lovely welcome we had from the owners who yet again were so friendly and helpful. Anyone who wants to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet will not be disappointed. Can’t wait to return.

We had a lovely weeks stay at the cottage.

Beautiful surrounding and has everything you need to make yourself at home. Super clean and comfortable. Owners Live in a detached property next door which far enough away and the property has lots of privacy, but this is great too as they are so helpful and friendly. The pup was 20 min walk away but wasn’t surviving food due to COVID but was nice. everything was a little drive away but easily accessible. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back in the future. Oh and the Lovely neighbours which were the cows in the field were cute at the window. Thank you.

Beautfully laid out cottage with all you need just one thing I would have liked was a hair dryer only because I forgot mine.We hope to be back next year.

A relaxing week away to unwind was the order for this holiday and it more than Matthias expectation!

! On arrival Karyn and Neil gave us a warm welcome and the cottage was as picture perfect as the online images portrayed it to be. Thoughtful touches were everywhere making it a home from home for the week such as towels for the dog in case any extra are needed and the kitchen had every utensil needed. The place is beautifully furnished and the log burner was a welcome sight and treat after a long day exploring the sites. Location wise the cottage is tucked away giving a peaceful feel but the local village a mile away offers a lovely local pub and there are plenty of walking routes from the doorstep with amazing countryside views. Snowdon region is a 40min drive away and the town of Ruthin is 6miles away which is worth a visit. We were very sad to leave and will definitely be back!

The homemade treats on arrival were delicious and a reflection of Neil and Karyns welcome. A very peaceful location with lots of walks from the doorstep and ideal for exploring North Wales. Everything was perfect from the amazing setting in a fabulous garden which was so pretty and tranquil. The cottage was really comfortable and homely. Very modern and well finished. The added advantage of the newly installed WiFi was a real treat which we weren’t expecting. We had a wonderful week exploring the local areas. Gwen our dog loved the visits from the inquisitive cows and loved the chickens to have a sniff at, for us and any dog lovers this is a completely safe and enclosed garden for them to enjoy. This was the perfect place to bring a fury friend. For anyone contemplating staying in Ysgubor Ucha, it’s a definite no brainer. Lastly not to forget the friendly, accommodating but completely non-intrusive owners. Thank you we will be booking up again very soon.

It's a beautifully presented cottage, well kitted out, but where you feel comfy and homely. Everything you need here. We even baked our anniversary cake too! So many lovely touches with pretty flowers and a welcome plate of treats for humans and a jar of dog treats too. Superb location for visiting the surrounding area! Ysgubor Ucha caught our eye the moment we saw the photo of this beautiful stone built cottage, with its pretty wrapped garden.

The interior was finished to a high standard, which made the most of the space. We particularly loved the little extra touches, beautiful vases of flowers from the garden, created a really homely feel. There were also many other extras provided, which were very much appreciated. This little hideaway retreat has soared to the top of our favourite Sykes getaways. We are already talking about a return visit to Ysgubor Ucha.
