Quarry Cottage

Great location, it made for a brilliant base for me, my partner and our 2 dogs to explore the surrounding coastlines and beaches.

One point, maybe I missed it but it wasn't clear that this was a semi detached cottage with holiday makers on the other side of the cottage. They had the better views and a large grassed area. We had lots of outside space (paved) and it was enclosed for the dogs, unfortunately we couldn't sit out and enjoy a nice panorama of the coast unlike the adjoined cottage. Nice touches on arrival, biscuits, dog treats etc. All the towels and linens were a decent quality and all felt clean and fresh. The couch wasn't comfortable and the bed a little hard to get comfy too. The general cleanliness was ok, we found lots of dust, cobwebs and several dead spiders. 2 big TVs to use, but no up to date apps on them, WiFi was available so access to smart media wasn't a real problem. All in all, we had a great time and spent evenings and nights at the cottage. It was comfortable enough for a 3 day stay for 1 or 2 people. We would book again despite a few little niggles

A lovely little cottage for a weekend getaway or longer holiday.

Very quiet but close to the beaches and places of interest. The cottage is well equipped and great if you have a dog. There’s not a lot of storage for food in the kitchen or for clothes in the bedroom but it’s manageable. Highly recommended

just what the doctor ordered a lovely peaceful break in a small but perfectly formed little cottage in a lovely area with fab views , loved the fact that it took no time at all to the nearby beaches , our dog was in heaven .

Lovely cosy cottage with enclosed space so that dogs are safe.

Ideal for a weekend break. One suggestion is that a couple of sun loungers would be great!

Absolutely loved our stay at quarry cottage.

Location fabulous weather Absolutely beautiful. Long walks on the beach with fresh sea air can't beat it. Marked down a star because photos on sykes website are very misleading the pics are from next door (crown cottage) not quarry cottage although we had a well enclosed little garden for us to sit in.

We loved our stay at Quarry cottage, our hosts were at hand by text or phone immediately if needed, they were lovely to deal with, best hosts ive had in many years by far.

Cant wait to return again and our dogs loved the close beaches by car, the views from the cottage & garden were glorious, every attention to detail was there, the gifts on arrive, even the fresh daffs, Welsh cakes etc were beautifully displayed, thank you so so much xx

Really nice little cottage in the middle of nowhere, really, easy to get out to my new job - I was using this as temporary accomodation as I was moving to the area for a new job.

Great facilities. Spotlessly clean. Toasty warm. This was my 2nd visit and I've already booked again.

Disappointed as the views could only be seen from the car parking area The general feel of the cottage was unkempt .

lacking in general maintenance , bulb needed replacing in bathroom light also bulb needed replacing in fridge.No mop and bucket no broom and a vacuum cleaner that didn't pick up very well.therefore lots of dog hairs .Upvc double glazing on door and window needs urgent fix also dodgy door handle.Shower area very dilapidated Shower curtain six inch gap from floor had to use towels to stop water going to toilet Very Very disappointed

Lovely little cottage, it's small but cosy and has everything you need.

The views were amazing. The welcoming pack was really nice, amd included something for your furbaby which is a nice touch. Great communication from the owners. Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back to Wales to see more.

What a beautiful stay at Quarry Cottage this week.

We had the most relaxing stay and were made to feel very welcome with the lovely treats for us and our doggy. Such a lovely peaceful area too. I must admit I was slightly nervous when I realised the other cottage was adjoining but, I didn't hear a peep out of the guests who were staying there. Quarry Cottage, very compact itself but, the pictures show exactly what the cottage looks like so please take note of this before booking as not to be disappointed if you want a bigger place. We thought it was just perfect, compact but everything we needed. We stayed with our American Bulldog who's 9 years old - his first holiday and he absolutely loved it. Beautiful walks and beautiful places to visit. If you do choose to stay at this cottage, be sure to check out Mostyn farm for a milkshake

Lovely place in a great location.

It had a tiny garden and large terrace, so sitting out was no problem. Well equipped, clean and fresh flowers included in a generous Welcome Pack which was a nice touch. Ideal for 1 person with a small dog, two people would manage but any hulking great hounds might be a problem!

Lovely small cottage, great location with lovely patio, loved the fact you were so private.

On arrival the welcome pack was greatly received. I need to say I didn't appreciate having to take out the long blonde hairs left behind in the shower waste pipe on arrival. Suggest some additional thought is needed regarding kitchen utensils ie most of the baking trays didn't fit, they were far too big for the oven and a decent non stick frying pan would be appreciated by future guests.

The cottage ia great for two people and we took our two dogs who enjoyed the welcome and the space as well

Had a lovely getaway for a few days, it was a comfy little cottage.

The only thing I think let it down was the oven didn't work when I tried to use it but still managed. The bed was clean and comfortable and I had everything I needed included some little treats for the dog. Would I stay here again? Yes when I need a little escape again.

Lovely compact cottage.

Despite the size it had everything we needed. The garden was lovely for the dog as he could just roam around and due to the fencing we knew he could not escape. Scenery and views were amazing. The peace and quiet was just what we needed to recharge the batteries .

I found the property to be quite small and the shower in particular was claustrophobic but very good and powerful.

The fencing up the path to the gate could be better, my partially sighted old boy had a fall as he walked under the fence and dropped the 3ft to the ground as he is quick. It made me very wary and he had to be on leash at all times. Maybe adding a lower beam would work. Bottom oven didn't work on cooker. But overall it was a pleasant stay.

Very small but it was listed as compact.

We were lucky that the weather was so good and could use the outside space a lot. It is a real sun trap. Convenient for North Wales attractions. If we returned, I think we would book the joining cottage but overall fine for a single person or couple with small dogs.

Me and the wife and dog loved this cottage it was cosy and had everything you needed it was in a lovely quiet place and the views were amazing and even the dog got a welcome pack when we arrived and there was plenty of information on walks and places to go and see all in all it was a very pleasant experience and we had a very relaxing time together

The cottage was in a beautiful place however the place needed a proper clean there was bits of food under the bed lots of dust even somebody’s tablets under the bed clumps of hair.

In fact I cleaned it myself you don’t expect to go on holiday to start cleaning there was a smell coming from the sink in the kitchen cleaned it with drain cleaner very disappointed with the cleanliness of this cottage let’s say we left it cleaner than it was .

Fabulous cute little cottage.

Stunning views. Extremely clean and well maintained. I was working in the area and it was a lovely homely place to come back to after a long day at work. It had a lovely log burner in the lounge area which was lovely and cosy while watching the tv. Its location would also make a great place to explore the local area. Ideal for a single traveler or a couple. Would definitely recommend. In fact tried to get in for the following week but was booked up.

Thank you! Really dog friendly with secure garden. Cosy cottage with very efficient heating ( the weather was pretty bad at times!) and well equipped for a small cottage. Shop and dog friendly pub nearby, fairly central for touring. Enjoyed our glass of wine in the garden in the sunshine when we got there. Bit wet and cold after that! But had a relaxing time.

complain about anything nice car parkour space .Just wish the pub would have been still open but that’s everywhere now all shutting down

Although the property was clean and well maintained.

We felt disappointed that the property was split in to 2 separate buildings. The pictures shown on the website showing the spectacular views can only be seen from the car parking area. If you look at crown cottage adjoined that has far more space and the views from the living room. Not sure if I would book again as I kind of felt it was miss sold as the pics show the full building but in reality you feel like your in the servants quarters at the back. Nothing against the owners its a lovely place.

Quarry cottage is just so wonderful, we took our old dog Pebbles & she loved it there, surroundings are breathtaking, just so peaceful & relaxing & very private too.

Everything we needed in the cottage was there & a nice welcome pack of Welsh cakes with a cuppa went down really well when we arrived, plus doggie treats for Pebbles & a beautiful vase of fresh flowers, so very thoughtful of the owners. Plus a good list of where to visit & get to them. The walks we found were fantastic, we met some lovely locals too. Definitely be back next year xxx

Excellent location for holiday in North Wales.

Very good hosts. Welcome pack very welcome after long drive. Comfortable, clean and modern accommodation with breathtaking views. Could not ask for more.

I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone and everyone.

It’s clean and cosy. The welcome package was very sweet, even the doggies enjoyed theirs. We had enough logs for the week which was very kind of them. Loads of walks to explore, beaches, waterfalls, snowdonia was only an hour and a bit drive, the view was amazing from the garden. It’s just an ideal cottage and I would definitely be back! One thing I would say is take a fire stick if you like to watch Netflix or anything as the tvs aren’t smart, didn’t bother us as we played badminton in the garden as we had sun in the evening, played games, read books, plus come 9pm your too tired for tv. Everything was a short walk or drive away so overall perfect!!!

This is a beautiful little cottage, very comfortable and compact, it has everything you need in a small space.

Fantastic shower, loved the wood burner, Jane and Steve are very welcoming, loved the hospitality tray. This break was just what I needed after a stressful year. Will definitely return has fantastic dog walks my dog loved it.

Smaller than expected however we had a great stay lovely location and thoughtful extras left by owner.

We found Quarry Cottage to be as described.

Yes its small but clean,well equipped ( bring milk and a hair dryer ) and beautifully warm. The roads leading to the cottage are good and the parking is flat giving easy access via a few steps down to the property . Nice secure grounds for the doggy. We spent a week touring North Wales in our EV charging mainly at Flint Mountain super chargers. All in all a very nice cottage to make your base for touring.

Great area, the cottage was well equipped, small but cosy.

The walkway down to the cottage is very dangerous at night as there is no lights and you don't see the stairs at all.

Gorgeous cottage

The cottage is bijou, but, comfortable with everything you need for the holiday.

The welcome Welsh cakes are a nice touch. It was also nice to have a decent size TV to watch when not out and about. Plenty of ideas for outings and eateries are available. The patio area was good for sitting out in with far reaching views. We would happily stay again. The only thing that could make it better is for the sloped path leading down to the cottage to be better lit, maybe a second PIR light?

Lovely cottage just smaller than expected, would book crown cottage next door another time ( did miss not having a wok ) all said we had an enjoyable week!

Lovely cottage, small but perfectly formed.

We had lovely weather so enjoyed the outside space which was safe for our dog. If the weather is poor it could be a little claustrophobic. Ideally located in a very quiet rural location with safe dog walks around the village. Would recommend torches for darker evenings. We found the cafe at the animal rescue centre on the last morning but certainly worth a walk for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. Ten minutes from the huge Talacre beach and facilities in Prestatin. Owners were contactable and loads of information in cottage. Good wi-fi. Would stay again but would look at booking crown cottage next door.

That cottage took some adapting to as it was much more cramped for space than expected.

However, it was comfortable and well equipped. Impressive sea view and well located for exploring North Wales.

Owners had thought of everything. Really enjoyed our stay, very relaxing. Our dog Lief enjoyed his lovely walks too and his treats in the welcome back. We would love to return.

We thought the cottage was much smaller than it looked As the weather was not too good in fact very cold Plus I was not very well So we in fact came home in a rush on Thursday THe cottage was sweet if you just used it as a B&B Not good if you need to spend any length of time in it Loved the area saw wild flowers I had not seen for years

Such a wonderful little cottage and so dog friendly!

A little dog welcome pack was provided which was so thoughtful. It consisted of some treats and small towels for wiping paws, etc. There was also already a dog bed next to the sofa which our dog took to right away. The location is perfect with so many walks right from the doorstep. The beach was also only a 15 minute drive away with a wonderful walk and dog ice cream available. The shower had a detachable head which easily came down to the floor which came in very useful to rinse sand off the dog. The kitchen was fully stocked of utensils, plates, cups, pots, pans, etc. and the oven/hob was really easy to use. The log burner was also really great for our one cooler/rainy evening, though if you don’t want to use it the thermostat is easily available to turn the heat on instead. The bed was comfortable though the pillows are very soft so if you prefer a harder pillow I’d suggest bringing your own.

Lovely, cosy and clean cottage private with ample parking, pet friendly garden, log fire, Internet, home from home comforts , small but all you need for a comfortable stay, owners contactable if needed, would recommend 'Quarry Cottage' thank you

Beautiful cottage in stunning surroundings.

A lovely place for a relaxing break away. A very thoughtful welcome package and the Welsh cakes and log burner went down a treat. Ideal location for some lovely beaches and walks with or without our canine companions. Would definitely recommend and look forward to staying there again.

Great cottage ,small but very comfortable wood burner heating the cottage, great views down to the estuary, can not fault this place.

very pleasant outdoor space, unfortunately due to the rain we were unable to use it.

The cottage is very quaint had everything you could need or want from a home from home there was nothing at all to moan about.

We had lovely weather but we did use log burner a few times it was lovely and cosy I could engine spending Christmas there snugged up on sofa watching telly with a nice hit chocolate. Everything was perfect for us. I loved the flowers and my dogs enjoyed the treats left for them. The one thing I would say is pick up some milk when nearly there they have tea coffee sugar and sweeteners but we had no milk luckily we had family coming an hour after we got there so they brought some. We had the best time ever and will hopefully be back soon Mandy Steve Dobi and hunni

Very clean cottage, with lovely view done to the sea.

the cottage is equipped very thing you could need, really enjoyed our stay here. communication with the owner was very easy and would recommend any body wishing to try a country retreat with great days out to be had close at hand to try.

Only thing I missed was a hairdryer, usually provided wherever I have stayed before I did not take my own, it was only a minor issue. Nice location although some noise on an are at the back opposite the cottage which seemed to be a meeting spot, it did not affect our stay. Lovely walks in the area. Nice touches by the owners of the cottage of fresh flowers and a welcome tray. Definitely recommend

Quarry cottage is one of the nicest cottages we’ve ever stayed in, probably the best!

It’s immaculately clean, well equipped, fresh flowers in a lovely vase, tea, coffee, jam, cakes and a little doggy welcome pack which our dog loved! Bed was comfy (we’ve even ordered the pillows it has) shower hot and powerful, views some of the best we’ve seen and so much outdoor space for our dog to run around playing hide and seek in, secure too. Loved the walk up the gravelled hill and short drives into Prestatyn and Llandudno. Owners super friendly and helpful, only downside was having to go home. I don’t normally get sad at the end of holidays but I’m feeling the blues now and will 100% be back hopefully the end of this year.

The cottage was very clean and cosy and the welcome pack for ourselves and our dog was very much appreciated.

Although it was a winter stay, the heating in the cottage worked well and we found it unnecessary to light the wood burner. In all we found we had a lovely holiday and will certainly be returning in the future. The small garden was safe and secure for our dog so no problem letting him out at any time. Les, Jane and Joe

A lovely little property ideally positioned for the beach and country side.

Great communication from the hosts. Super shower but we personally found the bed a little on the small side for us. The enclosed garden was perfect for the dogs and there is a great walk you can access from the cottage without getting in the car. Ideal place for a long weekend for us.

Cannot wait to go back

A lovely compact little cottage, fantastic views and perfect for a little dog, safe and secure garden area and patio.

It's not too remote but there were no local facilities. So either take plenty of food or drive a couple of miles to nearest shops and garages. There is retractable washing line for drying clothes, towels ect but take some pegs as not big enough for washing facilities. Very comfy bed with ensuite bathroom. Great location for Snowdonia National Park, which I truly recommend as it's breath taking.

The views are wonderful . We had two small dogs and they loved it plenty of room outside for them. The cottage was very cosy even without heating but their are logs for wood fire and central heating if its cold. The layout outside is terrific with an upper small terrace with seat and sea views. Will definitely book again.The owners left a lovely welcome pack and doggy treats.

Really enjoyed our stay at the quarry cottage.

Loved our gifts and especially the doggie bag treats for paddy and bertie. The dogs settled in straight away and was very secure for them both. Just a shame the red lion pub was closed down. Would definitely think that you should have a hot tub and some sun lounges. The views where amazing and to top it off the weather was amazing. Would definitely recommend this cottage a dog friendly one.

We stayed in Quarry Cottage with our two dogs over New Year and it was perfect!

Cosy, clean, well equipped and close to a lovely quiet beach and lots of great dog walks. The cottage was decorated for the Christmas period including reindeer bedding which was a lovely touch along with the thoughtful welcome packs for both us and our dogs. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get away from it all and will definately be returning. Many thanks

Enjoyed our stay, although small we were comfortable and had everything we needed.

Lovely patio and garden (although there was little room for our dog to run around.) We very much enjoyed having alpine strawberries from the border on our breakfast cereal every day! Beautiful views and stunning sunsets in a peaceful setting.

From the position on the hill looking over the views and the sea in the distance. Would totally like to say this property was amazing love it felt so chilled will definitely book this one again.

Very cosy but small cottage.

Smaller than it looked in the brochure. Very quiet location with sun trap patio. Bed mattress much too soft for comfortable nights sleep. Bijou bathroom, very good shower but noisy loo flush as chain hits the tank lid when pulled. Did not use the log burner as weather was warm and very efficient central heating. Excellent location with quiet lanes. Great walks for dog Ben in footpaths, and woods above the disused quarry which is across the lane. Beach, old lighthouse and fabulous sand dunes make it excellent for ‘dog holidays’ within a ten minute drive.

when we booked we said we had 2 big dogs and the cottage was not suitable for large dogs as the fence was 2foot high which our dogs could step over plus there was no where for them to lie in cottage as the room was tiny plus the picture of the beach in the ad was not realistic as you had to go to it in the car as it was too far away plus the lanes were not really safe to walk 2 dogs down when you don't know the area so unless you have a tiny dog it is not pet friendly for large dogs

An amazing little cosy cottage.

Perfect for a couple and two small doggies. Loved our stay. The cottage was very clean and gorgeously presented. Everything you need for a mini break or full week away. Will definitely be returning.

We were led to believe by discription there was a garden and lovely views, but instead we had a stoned patio which my big dogs can't walk on ,also in the discription it never once said we had an ajoining cottage (which had the garden and the lovely views).

also the photos were very deceiving it looked a lot bigger instead of two rooms . overall I was really not happy with the cottage we drove 4 hours to be stuck in two rooms overlooking a dirty quarry . if the description of the cottage was correct we personally would not of booked it as we have two big labs and it was way to small for us but it was clean and well presented for what it was .

We love the cottage and all the facilities and extra that the owners added.

Even for our Dog Tilley Great location for visiting Snowdonia and other locations. All pubs welcome us and out dog. One item I would like to mention is that the bed mattress was very soft and not that comfortable.
