Hafanedd
Description
Hafanedd is a delightful house set in the heart of Betws-y-Coed, surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of Conwy and Eryri National Park (Snowdonia).
Accommodating up to six guests, this appealing getaway is well-suited to families and friends eager to explore the great outdoors, enjoy picturesque walks and make the most of the village's excellent amenities, with a river close by and a woodburning stove awaiting your return.
From the outset, you'll find yourself immersed in one of North Wales' most sought-after destinations, where woodland paths, independent shops, inviting eateries and riverside walks can all be reached on foot.
After securing a roadside parking space, follow the slate steps to the property and take a seat on the bench at the front, where you can admire views towards the river across the road.
A lawned area to the side offers another pleasant place to sit with a morning drink before setting off for the day.
Enter through the distinctive pink front door and discover a character-filled retreat designed for memorable stays.
At the heart of the home is the kitchen/diner, where six guests can gather around the table, while an archway leads into the well-appointed kitchen.
Bright white units enhance the sense of space, and views of moss and ferns in the garden bring the outside in.
From preparing a substantial breakfast before a day in the hills to serving evening meals fresh from the double electric oven, the space is equipped for effortless self-catering, with a hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, air fryer and hot tap making day-to-day living a breeze.
Continue through the hallway, where quarry-tiled flooring adds character, and into the utility room, a handy space complete with a washing machine and tumble dryer for refreshing walking clothes after time spent exploring the national park.
The sitting room invites you to unwind beside the woodburning stove, set within an attractive brick fireplace, whether you're sinking into the sofa to watch a film projected from your own device or enjoying a relaxed evening together reading a book or playing board games.
Head upstairs via the staircase adorned with exposed timbers, feature lighting and framed local artwork.
The family bathroom provides a bath for long soaks at the end of the day, while the bedrooms each have their own charm.
A double room showcases a woodland-inspired feature wall, the twin room enjoys views to the front of the property, and the king-size bedroom features a striking timber-clad wall, a decorative fireplace and an en-suite shower room with a heated towel rail.
Outside, the lawned area offers another spot to take in the surroundings, while the river opposite provides an attractive backdrop.
Better still, you can leave the car behind and stroll straight from the front door into nearby woodland, browse local boutiques or dine in one of the village's popular pubs and restaurants.
Betws-y-Coed is home to attractions including the dramatic cascades of Swallow Falls, the forest trails of Gwydir Forest Park and scenic walks around Llyn Elsi with its far-reaching mountain views.
Nearby Llanrwst offers the historic Pont Fawr bridge, the much-photographed Tu Hwnt i'r Bont tearoom and the riverside setting of Parc Gwydir.
Meanwhile, Blaenau Ffestiniog promises thrilling adventures at Zip World Llechwedd, fascinating heritage at Llechwedd Slate Caverns and spectacular journeys aboard the Ffestiniog Railway.
Hafanedd places North Wales' finest landscapes and attractions within easy reach.
