“Fantastic cottage in a great location - we know the island well and stay there at least a couple of times a year but this was the first stay at Tyddyn Gyrfa.”

The cottage is lovely with log burners in both the dining and living rooms making this really cosy especially for a winter holiday. On arrival we were greeted by a warm fire, and a lovely welcome pack (the choc brownies were gorgeous!). Linda the owner (who lives next door) was a great host and came over when we arrived. This is the only cottage were I can honestly say that everything has been provided for guests including a starter pack for the fires (you can buy more wood from the shed in the garden - there is an honesty box in the kitchen), welcome pack, towels for dogs, loads of DVD's and books, umbrella's etc. There was even a walking stick which my Mum found helpful, as her knees do cause her problems with mobility. A lot of thought has clearly gone into what guests want and need whilst on a self catering holiday and I can't think of anything that has been missed. The kitchen is really well equipped, again with everything you need. The bedrooms are lovely, plenty of storage and mirrors. There are also wall heaters which kept the house warm and toasty throughout our stay. Plenty of parking, there is a drive but we parked on the roadside without any problems (its a dead end road). The secure garden is great for dogs, really good size and I imagine would be a suntrap in the summer months. The location is perfect, really quiet but only 2 mins walk to the village, the harbour and beaches. No hesitation in 100% recommending this property and we will definitely return next year.

The property

Tyddyn Gyrfa Cottage is a charming detached farmhouse, reputed to have served as an early staging post dating back to the 1760s.

Nestled on a quiet no-through road in the heart of the picturesque Anglesey coastal village of Cemaes Bay, this beautifully restored property combines historic character with modern comfort.

Tastefully decorated throughout, it showcases exposed timbers and antique furnishings, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Offering light and airy accommodation, the cottage features three bedrooms, a bathroom and separate shower room, a well-equipped kitchen with breakfast table, a dining room, and a cosy sitting room with woodburner and a snug for quiet moments.

Outside, the large rear lawned garden is dotted with fruit trees, making it an ideal spot to soak up the afternoon sun or enjoy a barbecue with locally sourced lobster and seafood. Perfectly positioned for easy access to the village, the cottage is just a short stroll from sandy beaches and an unspoilt coastline, ideal for families with young children thanks to its gently shelving shores. Tyddyn Gyrfa Cottage is the ultimate family getaway for a memorable beach holiday in Anglesey.
