Description

Amlwch 2.4 miles. East Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage is a three-bedroom holiday home in the most breath-taking location on the coastline of Anglesey, enjoying some amazing sea views!

Nestled on the northeastern point of the Isle, in Llaneilian near Amlwch, as the name suggests, this home is a quirky, former lighthouse keeper's cottage, oozing character.

Step inside to reach the sitting room, with wooden flooring underfoot, plush sofas to relax into, and a TV for entertainment. In the dining room, you’ll experience the most incredible views through the large pine window whilst enjoying breakfast, lunch, or supper, with a delightful woodburning stove to light for some extra warmth.

The kitchen has all you need including an electric cooker and hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, small freezer and washing machine, easing your self-catered stay, where you can prepare meals to be enjoyed outdoors, or light the barbecue on warmer days! There are three bedrooms to select from, including a king-size, a double, and a twin, all serviced by two handy shower rooms.

The nature and wildlife surrounding the cottage are incredible, nestled within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; spend time spotting porpoises, dolphins, birds, and gorgeous wildflowers in the spring. Ornithologists will delight in spotting Wheateaters, Choughs, and Stonechats. The local beach, which can be seen to the left, just prior to the private drive up the peninsula to the Lighthouse, is a hidden gem called Traeth Eilan. Just a short walk from the property, this stunning rocky beach is reminiscent of a smugglers cove, with rugged cliffs protecting this secluded cove and providing mill-pond conditions, perfect for your morning wild swim, paddle board adventures or sea kayaking. A quick stroll along the coastal footpath brings you to a lovely sandy cove called Llaneilian, which is ideal for bathing, rock pooling, or just having a relaxing afternoon.

Travel south to reach the attractions of Beaumaris, with its 13th century castle, bustling pier and the Beaumaris Gaol and Court ready to be explored, whilst further activities lie near the border, including Pili Palas Nature World, Plas Newydd House and Gardens, and Anglesey Sea Zoo. Tour the Isle of Anglesey with a stay at East Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage. Note: This property can be booked with Ref. 1140457, together sleeping up to 12 guests.

The fact that I booked the cottage again for next year on the day that we left should speak volumes.

It is homely and comfortable and is the perfect place to relax. Watching the dolphins was the icing on the proverbial cake. And there Is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area if you can drag yourself away for long enough. An absolute gem!

We had an amazing time here, probably the best holiday in years.

The first thing we did when we got back is to book again! The cottage is lovely, comfortable, peaceful and everything is just how you would want it. The area is amazing, wandering around the cliffs and paths was lovely, we saw dolphins and seals. We are stargazers and also the clear night sky was wonderful! There are also lots of places nearby to explore and a large supermarket 10 mins away.

Stunning location - absolutely beautiful headland - felt like a real privilege living there for the week.

Incredible sunsets and bird life, we were lucky to spot one seal and one dolphin from the headland too. The cottage is very well equipped and spacious enough for our big family gathering (6 adults +1 baby). It has a dishwasher and washing machine - which were a real godsend! The beds were comfy and the cottage is clean enough, but would benefit from a deep clean, plus has maintenance issues that are clearly not new such as toilet that doesn’t flush properly, and shower that floods the bathroom, cracked window, which I reported to the maintenance team as we checked out. Despite these issues, I’d absolutely stay there again in a heartbeat - it’s an absolute gem of a destination. Missing our sunset walks already! Great location to explore Anglesey from too.
