Location is amazing and accommodation was pretty much perfect for what we needed.

Very comfortable cottage. Living room layout needs a rethink and required a move around to work. Needs much more info on how appliances work to avoid faffing around with oven, hob and washing machine. The washing machine died during our stay and had to notify owners who responded pretty quickly the next day but still inconvenient given this is family accommodation and inevitable laundry demands. Otherwise great.

We had a wonderful time at Point Lynas.

The location is everything - water and wildlife on the doorstep. But for wet or windy days and evenings, the cottage is spacious, clean and comfortable and well provisioned. The property is old and on an exposed site, so wear and tear are inevitable, but it has been refurbished to a high standard and the owners were quick to respond to problems.

My husband and I, 2 sons and their wives and our dog Eric all absolutely loved our week at West Point Lynas Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage.

The cottage is very well laid out with a lovely sitting room where we really enjoyed the log burning stove and the spectacular view. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything we needed for cooking our evening meals and breakfasts and it was lovely to have the large dining area so that everyone could join the chef during food preparation. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the bathrooms excellent. My son was delighted with the quality of the WiFi as he was working all week. With better weather we would have enjoyed relaxing in our private courtyard. The location is superb with many wonderful walks from the door. We were so excited to see porpoises and seals a few times from the platform beside the lighthouse light, as well as the many birds. We would 100% recommend a stay here and would love to return. PS Thank you so much to the owner for answering our phone call on Saturday evening when we couldn't find the cooker switch! Very reassuring to have such immediate response in case of a real emergency.

We loved our stay in West Point Lynas Lighthouse keepers cottage.

It was perfect for a week walking on the coast path. We used the kitchen to cook most of our meals. Beautiful sunsets. Fantastic views of the sea. The only difficulty was the very large potholes in the long dirt drive which needs to be filled in. The cottage itself was great.

The location was amazing.

The property needed a good deep clean, and plenty of maintenance work needs to be carried out. It was well equipped and very warm. We would return if we knew remedial works had been carried out.

The location is breathtakingly beautiful and exceeded our expectations.

Our first impression of the West Point Lynas Lighthouse Keepers Cottage was how deliciously warm it was.

We arrived on a blustery cold day and walked into a warm cozy cottage with incredible views. We felt that way the whole week, warm, dry, and comfortable regardless of what the weather was doing. Staying there was such an amazing experience, walking the property, enjoying the views, seeing all kinds of wildlife, such a treat! Indoors the beds were very comfortable, the house was filled with all kinds of amenities, a big family kitchen with everything we needed for making meals, etc… along with a fridge, a separate freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The WiFi was good and strong, some of our group were able to work remotely whilst there with no issues. A massive storm knocked out our WiFi one day, but we called the emergency numbers we were given and it was quickly taken care of, we very much appreciated that fast response. To sit in that cottage during a major storm is incredible, the walls are so thick that you sit warm and dry watching it all out the windows, huge crashing waves, strong winds, Mother Nature at her most fierce, yet you’re just an observer. Amazing experience, all of it. Thank you!!

We had a fabulous time at West Lynas Point cottage - from storm Amy at the start (impressive!

!) through to sunshine at the end of the week. The cottage remained warm and welcoming whatever the weather and was a fantastic base for exploring the Anglesey shoreline.

Fantastic location, we were lucky enough to see the seals and dolphins.

Comfy beds. Only faults were the garden needs some tlc and freezer needs replacing. Other than that we had a lovely week.

Excellent accommodation, very well equipped and very cozy.

WOW !

This place is so unique & as a very 200+ yrs old building which also happens to be a working lighthouse you can forgive some of its nuances. Whilst there are some parts that need a bit of tlc the location & sights to see are unbelievable! It was February so no surprise it was cold but as some of the radiators were not working it was a tad cold - well freezing would be a better description - however a call to Menai Hols soon sorted it with Jake their maintenance man doing his stuff!! It then became quite warm once the 2ft thick walls warmed up . Overall an absolutely memorable place.

I meant to mention that I think the heating was on throughout the night.

The cottage was beautifully warm, but it was a bit too warm at night by the end of this week as the weather improved. We didn’t know about the controls, so didn’t try to adjust it.

It was an experience I will never forget.

I have always wanted to stay in a lighthouse and the cottage was the closest to actually staying there. We loved the remoteness and the peace and quiet. Water all around us to be able to sit there and gaze at the Irish Sea was heaven. But the highlights was seeing the northern lights the last night we were there. Stunning.

My Happy Place - Point Lynas I’ve been coming to West Keepers Cottage for the last 7 or 8 years and I’m pleased to see that not a lot has changed with ownership.

There are some general maintenance needs but what the accommodation lacks the location makes up for. The location is stunning and the perfect place to relax and unwind. I have so many happy memories of holidays spent at Point Lynas. The accommodation was lovely and warm throughout the day. It was good to see an air fryer in the kitchen. The floorboards in the master bedroom need some attention and you definitely need a torch if you are sleeping in the master bedroom as there are no sockets near the bed so no lamp and, if like me, you charge your phone overnight that will be on the other side of the room ! The backdoor is difficult to lock/open from the outside. Nice to see some new garden furniture in the small garden area but unfortunately it wasn’t quite the weather to sit out ! The headland was far busier than I’ve ever seen with some mornings 50+ people out and about watching for the rissos dolphins and porpoises. There does seem to have been a substantial price increase for similar weeks next year so I’m not sure if we will be returning or we’ll look for alternative accommodation.

Though I never recommend anything because my choice isn’t everyone’s, I was totally happy with my stay.

The setting was magical in the best possible way. I had a small difficulty with the deep step as I have some mobility issues but I coped. Previous recent reviews showed problems with damp, which concerned me before I got there but there was no damp that I could find.. Everything worked as it should. Thank you to the owners for a great holiday.

This was a lovely unique place to stay.

The cottage was delightful and secluded with spectacular views. The rooms were well laid out and the fabulous high ceilings give an even greater sense of space. The beds were comfy, showers good and the kitchen was well equipped. Would highly recommend this cottage and happily go back again. NOT FOR PUBLIC BUT JUST DIRECT FEEDBACK: We also wanted to share a few thought for improvements - the windows are clearly in need of some work - repainting frames / replacing some hinges but I’m guessing this is a work in progress. There were a lot of flies around - if this is a frequent issue then maybe providing a UV light fly zapper would be useful. Some of the floorboards in the master bedroom need sorting. The 2 front bedrooms were a little damp and my daughters fleece, that was used as a bed for her cuddly toy dog, inside the bedside table came out very musty smelling at the end of the week. A fuller list of kitchen equipment on the website would be helpful - we actually brought our air fryer with us but were pleased to see one there. Also might be worth mentioning on the website that there is a public footpath directly outside so important to bring a dressing gown! Finally an outdoor tap would be useful for rinsing off sandy things. Hope that is helpful feedback.

West/East Cottage at Point Lynas Lighthouse has been a go to destination for us for many years now and we have many happy memories of holidays here and of the former owners who are now sadly missed.

When you book at a property that was built in 1835 you expect it to have the patina of a bygone age with some modern additions and on the whole if this is your first visit that is what you will get. However if you are a returning visitor since the change of ownership then you will observe clear signs of decline. Prices have risen significantly (we do recognise there have been increases across the board in this sector) but standards have dropped since the change of ownership. The location is still stunning and the hospitality in the past has been outstanding however on this visit there were a number of issues which could not be ignored. The previous ownership seemed to have in place a rolling programme of repair and refurbishment however on our arrival our first (and lasting) impression of the property, particularly externally, was of malaise and neglect. Broken cattle grid, gates and fences broken and discarded in the field, inadequate refuse facilities with rubbish blowing all round the compound, having to clear up used tissues and sanitary products from the yard and around the doors was not appreciated. One wheelie bin with it’s lid missing and a tote shoved in the top to stop access by birds and rodents (doesn’t) is not sufficient for a week’s rubbish from two holiday cottages. The back door to the cottage would not lock from the outside and this was reported to Menai but not actioned before we left. Though not unappreciated the welcome pack certainly lacked the care, charm and hospitality of the former owners and was very box standard. The pillows on the bed are well past their sell by date and provision of hand and bath towels seemed somewhat mean compared to what we were used to. Dishwasher tabs provided are cheap and don’t work so suggest you take your own, we bought new. We feel saddened as this is a place we love and have always felt welcome and valued as visitors but will be considering where we spend our hard earned cash in the future. To the previous owners thank you so much for some great holidays and wonderful memories, to the current owners the place is looking shabby and standards have dropped so you need to step up as you have some big boots to fill. Having said all that it’s possible the new owners are assessing their options for the property before work is put in place, we certainly hope so as the once gleaming white buildings on the headline are looking very grey and sad this year. How sad it is that The Coastal Watch people seemed to have been evicted from the headland too, they were always a wonderful source of conversation and information on tides and wildlife.

Generally very good, location is everything!

The outdoor area was very neglected, weeds everywhere, rubbish, and the bbq literally fell to bits when we tried to move it. In the kitchen above the washing machine was a note saying it was broken and that sykes had been informed, the note looked as though it had been there a while, and no effort was made to repair or replace it during the week.. In the bathroom the hot tap into the feature bath didn't work, and around the property some light bulbs were out.. we enjoyed our stay but with a bit more effort it could be so much better.

This is an extremely special place to be able to stay.

It is an old building and I can only imagine that keeping it going must feel like a constant battle against the elements: there probably will always be some kind of maintenance issue. I'd read in other reviews that you have no control over the heating so I was anticipating being cold, but it was lovely and warm: far too warm to consider lighting the fire! The kitchen of West Cottage is huge and very well-equipped and the living room has superb sunset views when the weather cooperates. There are fantastic dog walks along the coastal path in both directions; the inland walks were more challenging with bogs and stiles. The little bay is almost lake-like and feels so safe for swimming. I had a wonderful week and would hope to visit again.

My second visit to this beautiful cottage in it's peaceful and rural setting.

It has everything that you need for your stay. There was even a real Christmas tree in the lounge, lovely! The milk in the fridge and christmas treats provided by the new owners upon arrival were very welcome. A place to definitely return to again.

Simple things to do to make it even better.. 1. Update the visitors information folder. 2. Check TV works (no signal). 3. Measuring jug in kitchen. 4. Binoculars We had a lovely time with family. Thank you
