You’ll find the idyllic village of Abersoch set along the stunning Llyn Peninsula.

It is no surprise that it is one of North Wales’s most popular tourist destinations, with views out towards Cardigan Bay and close proximity to the Snowdonia National Park.


How to Get to Abersoch

You can easily reach Abersoch by car, train, and bus!

By car: If you’re travelling from the North of England, you will enter Wales via Chester following the A55/A487 until reaching the Llyn Peninsula.

From there you can join the A499/A497 until you reach Abersoch. If you’re travelling from the South or the Midlands, head to Birmingham where you can join onto the A458/A470/A487 until you reach the Llyn Peninsula. After that you can follow the A497 to Abersoch.

By train: The closest train station to Abersoch is in Pwllheli. From there it is a 15-minute drive to Abersoch, or you can get there via bus.

By bus: If you’re looking to catch a bus to Abersoch, you can hop aboard the 17 and 18 buses, both of which stop at the stations of Stryd Fawr and Lon Pont Morgan.


Things to Do in Abersoch


You’ll be spoilt for choice for things to do in Abersoch! Spend a day on the sheltered and sandy Abersoch beach where you can bathe or enjoy a dip in the sea.

Those feeling more adventurous can set sail with Abersoch Hydro, or paddleboard and catch waves with Abersoch Watersports. If you can’t get enough of days by the sea, browse our guide to the best beaches in Abersoch.

Fancy indulging in some retail therapy? There are a delightful of selection of independent shops where you can browse or pick up a souvenir!

Or perhaps you’re feeling like a much needed pamper? You’ll find all the rest and relaxation you could possibly want at The Warren Spa, which offers a varied treatment menu, including massages, facials, manicures, and pedicures.

If you’ve brought your clubs, be sure to check out the award-winning Abersoch Golf Club. Formerly referred to as a ‘jewel on the Welsh Riviera’, the course boasts 18 holes and fantastic views over the bay.

There is also a clubhouse where you can grab a bite to eat or drink, a shop, and a pro golf simulator for that extra bit of practice!

The Potted Lobster – If a relaxed atmosphere and fresh seafood sound perfect to you, then look no further than The Potted Lobster. The menu features delicious dishes with ingredients locally sourced or freshly caught from harbours across the Llyn Peninsula. There’s even the option to enjoy your meal out on the terrace on warmer days!

Crust Pizzeria – Bringing the taste sensations of Italy to Abersoch is Crust Pizzeria. Offering a range of tasty homemade pizzas prepared with the freshest ingredients. Tuck-in to the Seafood Crust with an espresso martini as you rehash the days adventures, or get a Parma Crust to takeaway and eat on the beach. Absolute bliss!

Nwdl – If you loved The Cove, Abersoch, then you definitely don’t want to miss out on a visit to the team’s latest venture, Nwdl. Settled in the heart of the village, Nwdl offers the very best of Asian inspired dishes prepared with Welsh ingredients.

The Dining Room – A popular bistro serving delicious seasonal dishes, all prepared with local ingredients. There’s even an ‘afters’ section on The Dining Room’s menu which offers pistachio ice cream with poached rhubarb and tonka bean creme brulee!
