The Popular Llandudno Pier
A must-see attraction during your Llandudno adventure is the bright lights and stunning views of Llandudno Pier. Wales’ longest pier is home to many tasty food stalls, arcades and a range of shops and stalls for all the family. Once you’ve had your fair share of arcade games, why not grab a freshly cooked doughnut and enjoy a stroll along the Pier. Experience breathtaking views of Llandudno, The Great Orme and the Irish Sea.
A visit to Llandudno wouldn’t be complete without exploring the Great Orme Country Park. Located next to Llandudno Pier, it’s hard to miss the rugged limestone hill, dramatically rising 207m from the sea. Take a ride on the Llandudno Cable Car or the Great Orme Tramway and experience panoramic views of Llandudno, the Little Orme and the Conwy Estuary. Alternatively, lace up those walking boots and enjoy the fresh air on one of the many walking routes up and around the Great Orme.

Llandudno’s Award-Winning West Shore Beach
Llandudno is home to two award-winning beaches including Llandudno’s North Shore Beach. North Shore is Llandudno’s principal beach, favoured by families. Enjoy a day swimming and paddling with the kids, take a boat trip further afield or enjoy a stroll along Llandudno’s popular promenade.
If you’re looking for a quieter beach experience, then Llandudno’s West Shore Beach is for you. Located below the Great Orme limestone headland, this attractive spot is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of North Shore Beach. This blue-flag sandy beach is popular with kite-flyers, kite-surfers and those looking for a spot of well-deserved relaxation. Top tip – Make sure you stay to enjoy one of the West Shore’s spectacular sunsets!
Deganwy is a quaint village, sitting along the banks of the Conwy River. It’s long, sandy beach is completely dog friendly and offers fantastic views across to the Isle of Anglesey and Conwy Castle. Plus, it’s one of North Wales’ only south-west facing beaches – creating the perfect sun trap for topping up those tans!
Penrhyn Bay Beach sits between Llandudno and Rhos-on-Sea. This quieter sandy beach is famous for its rock pools, filled with an abundance of wildlife. Once you have spent time exploring the rocks, why not take a scenic coastal walk to Colwyn Bay and experience the beauty of the North Wales Coast Path.
The Llandudno Cable Car
Enjoy the adrenaline of skiing on a PermaSnow surface or toboggan down the longest run in Wales at the Llandudno Ski and Snowboard Centre. With activities such as Sno-Tubing and Alpine Golf available, there’s something for all the family to enjoy!
Experience the perfect mix of exhilaration and tranquillity as you ride to the top of Llandudno’s Mountain, the Great Orme. The Llandudno Cable Cars are renowned for being the most comprehensive cable car system in the UK and offer breathtaking views of surrounding North Wales scenery. A ride in one of the cable cars will take you to 678 feet above sea level, providing the ideal location to capture that picture-perfect panoramic!
One of the best ways to experience Llandudno is by boat. Explore the sights and sounds of the Little and Great Orme from aboard the Sea-Jay or Sea-Borne sightseeing cruises. With the possibility of spotting seals and plenty of different bird species, it’s sure to be a great day out for the whole family. Embark from the Llandudno Jetty and journey past Llandudno Pier towards the towering limestone hills. A memorable way to enjoy the spectacular views of Llandudno from the sea.
The Impressive Towers and Walls of Conwy Castle
The Welsh Mountain Zoo is the oldest and most established zoo in Wales. Located just outside Colwyn Bay, the zoo is set over 37 acres of luscious landscape and is home to over 140 species of wonderful wildlife. With views over Colwyn Bay and the impressive Carneddau mountains, this is one of the most impressive settings for any UK zoo. Discover the cheeky smile of the Chimpanzee, witness the razor-sharp teeth of the Sumatran Tiger and be entertained by the mischievous meerkat. A mighty medieval fortress, towering over Conwy for over 700 years – Conwy Castle should be on everyone’s bucket list. This famous castle is extremely well preserved, containing the most intact set of medieval royal apartments in Wales. Climb the spiral staircases, explore the King’s Great Chamber and enjoy the stunning scenes of the cobbled streets of Conwy. With dramatic views of the Snowdonia Mountains in the background, Conwy Castle is definitely one of North Wales’ most impressive castles.
