Blue Cottage

We had a wonderful time staying at Blue Cottage.

It was really well-equipped and had everything we needed. We loved the inside of the cottage, it was very cosy and welcoming and also enjoyed the outside seating area including the raised area. This was used a lot as it was very warm during our stay. The cottage is conveniently located for all Beaumaris's shops and amenities and we managed to find places to park. We would definitely stay again.

Absolutely loved our stay!

Short stroll to the waters edge where you could sit watching the birds as the sun went down. Cottage was very peaceful and homely. Comfortable bed, sofa and good linen. Good sized kitchen table. Parking was easy all week. Bakery did brilliant filled rolls and cakes, just a few mins walk away. Great location for exploring Anglesey. Only feedback would be better quality wine glasses, a couple of Prosecco glasses too and a bigger ovenproof deep pan with a lid.

Lovely cottage, everything we needed.

Blue cottage proved to be a wonderful base from which to seek out the delights of Anglesey.

It is comfortable although small and is well equipped. Being within a short walking distance of the centre of Beaumaris makes for easy access to most facilities one would need. Highly recommended

Blue Cottage was easy to find, a great location and had no issue with finding parking around the corner.

Everything you needed in the cottage apart from a fan as we had a very hot week and the bedrooms were very warm at night. Once you get used to the toot toot of cars going around the corner (not during night though) it was a very pleasant stay The cottage was clean it had a lovely courtyard garden and useful information left for guests to read. The Central bakery tucked away on the corner in Margaret Street is wonderful, the flapjack is so good. Watch out for he dive bombing Seagulls near the Pier. A & Z July 2025

Beautiful old cottage (mind your head on the low doors!

). Very clean and comfy, with a sunny two tiered garden at the back with a view of Snowdonia. Kitchen has all mod cons. Living room has TV and video.. Only a two minute walk to the sea front and five minutes to the town, castle, prison, bus stop etc. We had a very cosy relaxing week there, thank you.

Lovely cosy cottage.

Tall people beware some low ceilings and doorways! Well equipped and we appreciated the wine and Blue Cottage bag which was a nice memento. The only thing that we didn't have were pegs to hang out the washing, everything else was more than adequate. Parking a bit hit and miss but we always managed to squeeze in somewhere!

Lovely compact cottage.

We had everything we wanted. Great base to explore the island. We were lucky to find parking round the corner every day but think this may be an issue during the height of the season. Beaumaris is a beautiful place with a range of restaurants all within walking distance of the cottage.

Great stay in the cottage.

Has everything you could possibly need and great location in the heart of Beaumaris. Really peaceful and cosy place. Lovely and clean and leaving wine, biscuits and tote bag for guests is a really nice touch. Thank you. We liked that no pets are allowed. Met the cleaning staff on the way out and were very nice and friendly and great to hear they live nearby. Only thing I would say is it would be great if check in was a little earlier than 4pm. A really pleasant stay. Hope to be back.

We had a great time at Blue cottage and we would use again.

Only 2 mins walk to town centre, free parking about 50 yards away, cottage was nice and clean with plenty of bedding and towels.

.....was better than I expected! Beaumaris was also lovely and great that everything was in walking distance. It was a great base for running, walking and cycling. Even better with some amazing weather. We'd definitely come back to this property!

This is a lovely cottage, very cozy and comfortable.

The kitchen is really well-equipped compared to other places we have stayed in, and being able to have breakfast while watching the birds in the garden was a joy! Ideally situated just a few minutes walk from shops and cafés, with the Anglesey Coast Path at the end of the road.

Blue cottage was absolutely perfect in every way.

The only worry was the staircase as my Mum is 84 with limited mobility but this was our problem and she coped. Perhaps a rope handrail on the left hand side or a warning in the description for elderly people...

The property is very compact and I would not recommend it for anyone that is tall, because of the low door frames, nor anyone that is not good on their feet, because of the stairs.

Other than those points it was very clean and ideally sited for walking into town. . Parking could be a problem in busier times. Disappointed that the welcome pack was a bottle of wine and a bag as we are used to receiving more useful items like a pint of milk, butter etc. Unfortunately the weather was not very kind to us and it does tend to bias the feedback.

The Blue Cottage was lovely & comfortable we thoroughly enjoyed our stay their as it was my first time staying in a Sykes Cottages.

It was very well equipped with everything you would need.

Absolutely loved the cottage, welcome wine and tote bag a lovely gesture.

The constant ‘pip pipping’ of cars coming around the corner became quite annoying especially from 7am, we appreciate this is not the owners responsibility. Things to improve- The bathroom basin has no plug which made shaving difficult. No hair dryer, which would have been nice.

Had a wonderful week in this cosy cottage.

Loved the decor and the shell wall. Have explored Beaumaris and the castle, enjoyed blustery walks along the pier. Can thoroughly recommend the gardens at Plas Cadnant, great gardener guided tour too. Red Wharf Bay was also windy. Final day we spent being guided by our Bangor Uni daughter to some of the archaeological highlights of the west coast, neolithic Bryn Celli Ddu burial mound and Ty Maar Hut circles are well worth a visit

This cottage was so good!

I liked the oven and the way you can set up the table and it was really fun getting to watch a DVD on the TV. The garden wall was really nice too. The fireplace is also easy to use so we can save electricity. The Sandbach family

The property is in a great location.

Although parking is not available near the property you have to use the car park situated about a 10min walk at £6 a day and overnight which I think should be noted in the details for the property. The property is damp, unfortunately we had quite a bad leak in the bathroom (which is situated downstairs) I thought initially from the shower however after I had contacted the owner she explained that it was a build up of silt in the pipes outside causing the water to come into the bathroom due to the amount of rain. Dont get me wrong the owner sorted the problem but because of the intense smell of damp in the property I believe it’s an ongoing issue and needs to be resolved. The amount of woodlice was disturbing not just a few on the floor but actually climbing the walls. All the crockery had to be washed before use and the fridge/freezer needs some attention it’s completely frozen up. Washing machine is rusty inside so i opted not to use it. The cottage is lovely and well equipped it was the issues above that spoilt it for me. Would I book again - no sorry! For the money I paid it did not meet my expectations nor did it meet the description advertised.

A pretty cottage very close to everything Beaumaris has to offer.

The owners have given thought and consideration to the look and feel of the cottage and added so man little touches, such as having a bottle of wine; a shopping bag; soap, washing up liquid and other items present, that many rented properties do not supply. The kitchen was really well supplied with everything required if cooking whilst there. Well done to the owners.

Only problem we had and its not really the cottage it's self was the log burner.

( won't be getting one of them anytime soon)

Easy to find and clear instructions for the keys. Immaculately clean throughout. Well stocked with kitchen equipment. Comfortable and clean furniture. Overall loved the place and would definitely book again. Have already recommended to friends

We loved the blue cottage!

Beautifully refurbished and maintained, inside and out, well equipped and comfortable. Perfect for our mother and daughter weekend as we both got double beds! Great spot in Beaumaris just outside the centre, so quiet but within walking distance of restaurants and shops. Parking on street just around the corner.

What a gem of a cottage.

An Absolutely beautifully presented cosy cottage. We stayed in Beaumaris recently to visit family in the area. We booked Blue Cottage as it was perfectly located. It had everything we needed for our 3 night stay and would highly recommend. They kindly provided a cot and high chair at no extra cost. I would suggest maybe considering the option of a removable stair gate for families with smaller children as the stairs are quite steep, however this did not affect our stay in any way. Thank you for the lovely welcome gift- an extra added nice touch. We will hopefully be back soon. Thank you.

Lovely cottage we enjoyed our stay very much,the weather was horrendous, but you can expect it in December,,,I rang regarding washing machine door,.

Couldn't open it,, someone came to check it, but all was well,, it was myself,, must have not had enough breakfast,, lol,, lovely and warm, too,,xx

The cottage was very comfortable and clean, it was exactly true to the description on the website.

It was close to all amenities and we had a great time, many thanks from John, Margaret and Anne.

Cosy, comfortable and clean cottage in a fantastic location.

Having read some of the more recent negative comments I was a little apprehensive about our holiday but the criticisms are unfounded. The cottage does not smell of damp, yes it is small but it is also very old and who cares about unmatched wine glasses? The beds are super comfy, everything works and the garden is a great sun trap. Phone reception is patchy (and best at the top of the garden) but personally that was a bonus........

This cottage is in a good location on a quiet side street in the centre of Beaumaris.

The bed was very comfortable and the shower was very good. However we did not find the rest of the cottage very comfy. The sofa was very hard and uncomfortable as were the 2 bucket chairs… the scatter cushions were old dirty and flat. It just wasn’t the place we wanted to come back to after a day out. The cottage is also very dark even on the sunniest of days and had a very bad smell of damp / fustiness. The cottage needs painting and updating. The kitchen is very tight with the table up.. and the kitchen didn’t have a salad bowl or Pizza cutter and mismatched wine glasses. We did expect so much more for the very high price we paid. People have commented almost a year ago about the sofa etc but still nothing seems to have been replaced. We would not stay here again.

This cottage is in a great location but is in need of some attention.

The beds were comfortable but the bedding and towels were cheap and poor quality. The furniture is basic IKEA and much of it needs replacing. We understand that a new sofa is on order, the cushions on the current one are so compacted that it was hard to sit on and the tub chairs were uncomfortable. Unfortunately there’s no dishwasher and we found dirty pans and dirty lumpy sugar. The cottage smelled damp and we spent as much time out of it as possible. It is clear that the cottage is undergoing some renovation but this should be reflected in the price. If you pay over £800, you expect better quality furnishings and comfort for that price. This cottage has so much going for it but it should be listed as basic accommodation with a lower rating and a price to match.

he house was smelly, bathroom seat was extra tight, very low celling on stairs area hit my head more than once, we had an over weight old women who couldn't use the bathroom nor the stairs and the sofa could not convert to sofa bed, w receive no assistance from the office in charge

Great location but very small and stairs steep to bedrooms and garden the sofa definitely needs replacing but we had a lovely time

Great location and very well equipped cosy cottage.

Everything looked new and the firewood, matches kitchen towel and welcome bottle of wine all appreciated. Even better than the photos showed. Very impressed and would come again. We put the rubbish out on Thursday night as requested but not sure it was collected.

More detailed info on recycling would have been helpful.

For the 2 of us the cottage was fine.

it was clean with plenty of towels plus a bottle of wine which went down well. The only negative was that the bathroom is downstairs but other than that everything was as expected and we had a really enjoyable week.

A very cosy, comfortable, clean stay, with everything you’d need for a week’s holiday.

Excellent location within short walking distance to Beaumaris centre and the sea front. No parking but managed to get a space on the road around the corner. Only complaint was that it was a little small for a family of four, and no bath, but for just a week we could overlook those things seeing as the cottage was so nice.

Lovely little cottage, beware if you are tall very low ceilings in parts, luckily we are short.

Cottage is very close to town centre and sea front. Very comfortable beds and plenty of fluffy towels. Take a hairdryer if needed. Menai holidays kept us informed with regular emails and clear support during this COVID period.

Beautiful cottage and comfortable stay.

It’s evident from the new kitchen and bathroom that refurbishment has started. The windows not opening in the lounge did impact a touch on ventilation and upstairs window a bit noisey but owner is getting the windows done true to style so I’m sure that will make a great change. Due to the location of the cottage the constant beeping of cars round the corner was a bit annoying especially of an evening.

We had the best few days away in this wonderful little cottage.

Very well located to explore Beaumaris and beyond. Just around the corner from a lovely bakery full of freshly baked goods. Everything was ready for us when we arrived in the well equipped kitchen. Highly highly recommend!

A hairdryer would be handy

Cottage in a great location, 2 minute walk into Beaumaris.

Parking was always available on the road, we never had any issues finding a spot.

unlike some of the taller hoilday makers who found the doors a little low, being a short A... I could not reach the the the top shelf of the cupboard for a bowl.other wise it was lovely cottage

We were able to park in the very nearby lay-by for the whole of our 3 night stay.

Opened the door and immediately felt welcome. Lovely clean and cosy cottage throughout. Had no need for the basic cleaning stuffs , tissues and salt and pepper which we had taken with us as recommended by the booking agent as all were supplied along with a bottle of wine and a fabric shopping bag. Their were two of us , women friends, so had a bedroom each. The small double not really suitable for 2 adults but fine for children sharing. Would definitely return.

We were disappointed with The Blue Cottage, the photos are misleading, there is no room to have the table open and chairs around in the kitchen, and the second bedroom really would only be suitable for 1 person.

The whole cottage was grubby and needs a really good clean, paintwork especially. Stains on the living room carpet and settee, and a constant smell of damp. On the plus side it is well situated in Beaumaris, easy to walk into the town and waterfront. We would not stay in The Blue Cottage again.

One of our favourite Menai locations, always a lovely experience staying there.

5 stars for the fifth time we've stayed at this wonderful, cosy cottage.

Well~equipped with a sunny garden and at the heart of the village. One of our favourite places to stay.

Cottage is well equipped and in perfect location for Beaumaris and other Anglesey attractions.

2 min walk to boats (Puffin island trip) and the Pierre. Big Wheel being there was a bonus when we stayed offering views over castle walls. Perfect tranquillity but also things to do. Recommend Pier Cafe (views) and the George & Dragon pub (Robinsons ale) in Beaumaris. Recommend cycle trail by Maltreith (looks like a French vineyard by the sea) starting at the delightful family run Riverside cafe. Newborough woods and beach great too.

The cottage has a very homely feel about it,clean tidy and very warm.

Not sure if plus or minus but mobile/WiFi reception was hit or miss. Suspect parking could be an issue at busy times in Beaumaris but we had no problem some limited parking around the corner ( also free parking on the Green over the Christmas/New Year period ).

Has been perfect staying here for our first visit to Beaumaris, great location for Anglesey and North Wales.

Town, pier and beaches on our doorstep. The cottage provides all one needs bed really comfortable. Loved it here.

We were lucky enough to stay here for 5 days and we can honestly say that we immediately felt at home.

The cottage is so cosy and cleverly thought out, we found everything we needed - from a clothes maiden to towels. We loved using the fire and we found Tesco in Bangor was great for suppliers. We also loved pottering around the local shops - Neptune's Fish and Chips, Sarisa kitchen and the Tapas restaurant were all fantastic. I'm sure we'll be back again! Thank you for a lovely stay.

We loved the cottage with everything we needed and lovely to be in the middle of Beaumaris.

We dodged the showers to visit Plas Newydd and Plas Cadnant Gardnens and walked around the coast at Moelfre and Red Wharf Bay. Also visited Bangor Pier which was lovely and walked around Penmount point. The cottage was a lovely base to return to in the evenings. Thank you so much for the wine and bag we we will definitely recommend the Blue Cottage.

Such a lovely weekend and Blue Cottage is beautiful and wonder location.

Comfy a really fabulous location for exploring the island! We were so lucky to have great weather coming back to the cottage to relax and the end of each day. It felt like a real "home from home" Thank you!

Lovely beds are very comfortable we did quite a lot, Puffin Island, Sauna at Rhos farm beach also recommend Dillons sea food restaurant and lovely gifts shops for a little memento. Hope to be back soon Thank you

So handy for everything. Cottage was clean and well equipped and lovely banged my head twice. Wasn't sure what to do with sheets so left in basket in kitchen

We've had a lovely week staying at Blue cottage whilst competing at the Menai Strait regattas.

The weater was kind to us allowing us to enjoy breakfast outside in the sunny little courtyard out back. Thank you for the wine and shopping bag a perfect little welcome treat on arrival.

This week was very fun and the beds were very comfy.

Once again we've had a wonderful time staying at Blue cottage.

It's a real home from home by the sea. Very cosy and warm as Autumn begins to set in and has everything you could need and more. We love sitting in the garden with a cuppa, its so peaceful and private, but also so close the the front. We sleep so very well here too in such a comfortable bed. Thank you for the wine and shopping bag a kind and special touch that sets you apart.

We had a lot of lush time staying in Beaumaris and found it to be a perfect base for our Anglesey & Snowdonia (Eryri) adventures. We even managed to summit Snowdon. Beautiful views from the sea front and wonderful restaurants (George & Dragon, The Bull Inn & Beau's).
