We had a great week at Malltraeth cottage, weather was brilliant for the time of the year, cottage was clean and had everything we needed, lovely welcome basket which was very much appreciated.Very comfortable bed and a great shower, the back enclosed garden was very small and not really suitable for our dog,the main living room got a bit cold in the evening as the economy seven heaters were cooling down, the staircase was very narrow and I struggled to go up it carrying a suitcase, there needs to be more warning about the step down into the main bedroom,I did not see the small warning sign at the top of the door as it was already open and had a bad fall into the room, the sun lounge is a great place to sit and admire the views of Snowdon and the llyn peninsula and the many birds on the estuary when the tide was out(pity about the blue porta loo spoiling the view, other than that we had a great week exploring the best beaches and forest walks, nice pub across the road and great fish and chips in Newbourogh,we would book again.

You'll find an open-plan living space with a well-equipped kitchen to prepare your favourite family dinners; there's even a dishwasher to do the washing up for you!

Set the dining table for six and tuck in whilst you plan your holiday adventures, before retiring to one of two armchairs in front of the French windows to admire the views with a cup of tea.

Make the most of your stunning backdrop overlooking the estuary in the enclosed patio garden with seating!

After coastal or woodland walks, throw your gear in the utility's washer and dryer, then pour in the bubbles in the ground-floor bathroom for a relaxing soak or shower.

Climb the stairs to find three well-appointed bedrooms, including a master king-size with a TV and en-suite shower room with stunning views along the coast, along with two twin rooms, all of which have exposed beams for a lovely cottage feel.

The small village of Malltraeth has a chip shop, supplying self-catering essentials, and the Joiners Arms pub, whilst this pet-friendly cottage is a stone's throw away from fabulous walks; Malltraeth Pool is part of the peaceful marshes and sand dunes surrounding the area, as well as the nearby Llyn Parc Mawr Community Woodland or fabulous coastal walks around the island.

The area is renowned for birdwatching, red squirrels and award-winning beaches, such as Traeth Llanddwyn and Traeth Mawr.

Make the most of the outdoors with ample watersports available at Rhosneigr, sea and lake fishing, a coastal cycle track, and excellent golf courses.

The villages of Newborough (Niwbwrch) and Llangefni are steeped in Welsh history and heritage, whilst Anglesey Sea Zoo and the National Trust's Plas Newydd offer wonderful days out for the whole family.

Why not journey up to the bustling Holyhead for plenty of shops and eateries, Breakwater Country Park (Parc Gwledig Morglawdd Caergybi) and even a day trip to Ireland?

Enjoy some bird watching from the window as the property is surrounded by a RSPB reserve.

However you wish to spend your holiday, choose Malltraeth Cottage for your next family-friendly holiday in Anglesey.

About the location

MALLTRAETH

Newborough 2 miles; Rhosneigr 8 miles.

The small village of Malltraeth lies in the south west corner of Anglesey, at the head of the long inlet formed by the Cefni Estuary and close to the popular Newborough Forest and Warren sand dunes. Malltraeth Pool and the magnificent sweep of marshes and sand dunes, which stretch south to Llanddwyn Island, are all part of a National Nature Reserve. The whole area is renowned for its birdlife and Malltraeth was once home to the famous wildlife artist Charles F Tunnicliffe. There are wonderful forest and coastal walks from the village, which has a pub, a cafe serving afternoon tea and a chip shop (also selling basic items/newspapers etc). Close by are beautiful beaches at Llanddwyn (reputedly the 4th best in Britain), Aberffraw, and Cable Bay, or head to Rhosneigr, which is renowned for its all year round watersports facilities.
