We had a great time staying at Ty’n Cae.

House was excellent and well equipped with great views of Red Wharf Bay. We loved the area with plenty to see and do. Owners were very helpful and ensured we had a great holiday. Would thoroughly recommend.

We were lucky to have good weather and spent a lot of our time sitting in the garden looking out at the beautiful view.

The cottage is nice and secluded and it’s very peaceful there. It’s a good base for going to the various places of interest. All in all we enjoyed our week there and would book again in the future.

The description listed on Sykes was accurate, however there were what I think were important omissions.

The second double bedroom with the paddle stairs to the attic , a children’s room, unfortunately due to the attic roof windows having no blinds would prevent any blackout for sleeping not only in the attic but also the double bedroom below. The soft furnishings ( curtains) are beautiful throughout the property and no expense spared, however they were damp and dirty. The bedding was poor, no top sheet and a very heavy ,high tog quilt, which, in the master bedroom strongly smelt of the last occupants heavy perfume , and for the summer a sheet and bedspread would have been sufficient for anyone. Some bedroom and kitchen drawers could not be opened, due to damage. We actually came home two days early , due to the change in weather and after realising that what we had initially thought was a distressed look design on the long table in the garden viewing room was actually blood.

We had a very restful week in the comfortable and quiet cottage, such a tonic for us coming from the south east of England where the population and house building is out of control.

One little gripe that maybe the owners might take note, most holiday homes now have smart tv’s that allow viewers to log in to watch multiple channels and stream programmes, I think preview is sadly outdated in these times, a simple tv upgrade would benefit any future bookings.

A beautiful property in the most stunning location The views are amazing a truly special place We had a lovely week and would love to return.

The bungalow is spacious at the same time as being homely and comfortable. There are a few maintenance issues none of which spoiled our holiday but these could do with some attention.

What a wonderful stay we had!

Such a lovely property to stay in, just as advertised. The hosts were so helpful and friendly, emailing us with information to help find the property etc. Fantastic views from the cottage and great facilities for a comfortable stay. It was very cold during our January stay however the cottage was lovely and warm and great to be able to light the woodburner. Lovely and clean and well appointed too, I highly recommend a stay here and hope we can come again in the future.

The property is lovely and very well situated with great views over the bay but it was somewhat spoilt by very poor heating, if the aga had been working I think it would have been a very different experience.

Not recommended in the winter but I guess it would be fantastic in the summer.

A lovely spacious house, great views and a nice garden.

Generally it was very well equipped and nicely furnished. When booking you would need to consider the lay-out on the upper floor. The twin room, if used for children, is at the other end of the house from the other bedrooms and the staircase leading to the fourth bedroom is extremely steep and narrow. Two things that could be improved are possibly a new cooker, as the fan oven didn't work properly, and the TV, despite a lot of information, was very difficult to use in the Chromecast mode. However, overall it is a lovely, comfortable house for summer or winter

This is a fantastic well equipped and comfortable property in a perfect location, with incredible views.

It is a special place and would highly recommend. We hope to return in the future.

We had a lovely stay here and the photos in the listing do not do justice to the amazing views from the rear of the property.

We hardly spent any time in the living room (where the TV is) and spent our time in the house in the lovely sun room. We had great weather on some days so were able to make full use of the lovely garden too. Red Wharf Bay is a delight and only 5 minutes walk away. We took some great walks straight from the doorstep across the bay and made several lovely trips on Anglesey.

The property is in a beautiful location, the views are absolutely stunning over Red Wharf Bay.

The property needs updating especially the kitchen and bathrooms. There were a lot of maintenance issues and the property was dirty unfortunately which detracted from our stay. The decor is shabby chic which we loved but it is now on the tired side. It could be absolutely stunning if it was updated.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this house over Christmas with the family, including two young children.

It was the perfect place to spend the holidays—so unique, cosy, and full of character. The views were truly breath taking and added so much to the experience, making it feel magical. The added bonus of the games drawer kept us all entertained. We particularly loved the beautiful walks nearby; the scenery was outstanding and unforgettable. The house felt like a home away from home, and the owner was fantastic—great communication and very attentive to our needs. We would love to return in the future. Highly recommend this house for anyone looking for a special getaway!

Fabulous property, location, views and property was as described and well equipped.

The property was very clean and homely. It had a beautiful view across the bay from the house. The house was very comfortable, with a very well equipped kitchen. What a wonderful stay we had in this beautiful property.

The accommodation was first class and the cottage was so well equipped. We didn’t want for anything. Spacious, great views and ideally located for Red Wharf Bay, Benllech and the beautiful Beaumaris. Would love to stay again and definitely recommend it. Debra’s communication and helpfulness was outstanding and a joy! The only downside (completely my fault and nothing to do with the cottage) on my return from what was a special holiday I learned I had fallen foul of the 20mph in Wales. And I thought I’d done so well. So beware!

Everything is perfect, we loved the house and the location.

Beautiful view, very comfortable and very clean. Only downside for us was that we couldn’t really use the garden as the back fence is fairly low and our dogs tried to jump into the field of sheep but that’s just a personal issue and nothing to do with the house. Would book again but come without the dogs!

We loved this holiday cottage and its stunning location.

The property provided everything you need for a comfortable ‘home from home’ experience. The accommodation owner was friendly and helpful. Would recommend the house wholeheartedly. Reason for scoring Menai holidays 8/10, is due to initially accepting our booking for certain dates, and then being told those dates weren’t actually available, and it meant we essentially missed a day of our holiday.

Enjoyed a family weekend break in this lovely bungalow set in a very handy location.

There were 8 of us & 2 dogs. Fabulous view. Great garden for the dogs. Thanks for the cake, milk, tea, coffee & sugar. That was a lovely touch.

The property is in a beautiful situation and is comfortable, the beds especially which is important.

I do think as a previous visitor stated a handrail on the step would be helpful for elderly visitors. The property has a good supply of hot water and the heating system is good. Some of the lighting needs checking for new bulbs. I do think a large casserole dish would be of benefit or a slow cooker. The brush head on the hoover needs replacing. We did have a lovely stay, the weather was favourable, we enjoyed our visits to the Boat House at Red Wharf Bay and all the lovely areas we discovered on this stay in Anglesey.

Excellent accommodation with everything for a family holiday provided.

Location great with 3 pubs/restaurants within 10 minutes walk. If you have dogs or like walking you can walk to Benllech either via coastal path or along a vast beach when the tide is out.

We felt so at home immediately, with everything you could wish for in the property. The owners keep it highly maintained and very well equipped. The garden and views over Red Wharf Bay are so beautiful. It really is superb!

Excellent property.

Great location, a short drive to fantastic beaches or the mountains. Very private and relaxing. Fantastic food served at the nearby Boathouse in Red Wharf Bay. Supermarkets a 15 minute drive away. Views are superb from the property patio looking over the bay.

We’ve just got home after lovely week in this beautiful cottage.

The layout of the house is perfect, interesting and everyone had their own little space to just be and do what they wanted. Cosy and country style. Views kept us all glued to the back of the house and watching the tide come and go was very peaceful. No other people close by and very private. Rear garden all enclosed so dogs were free range and they spent lots of time out there surfing the breeze. Plenty seating around the cottage which was great. Both baths and showers have really good pressure. The kitchen is a mishmash of wooden drawers and cupboards which took us all week to get used to, it is so well equipped! The middle cupboard under the island had herbs salt pepper etc which we were grateful of. The fire was already made all ready to light and this was the best welcome gift ever! Sheets crisp and clean, beds comfortable and plenty room. Upstairs above the 2nd king bedroom is pretty steep to access, but our 8 yr old loved the rocking chair and desk, lots of space to herself and was happy just chilling up there. It’s all low low ceilings upstairs. I would recommend you take a plug in night light as she found it tricky to navigate her way down in the dark while needing a wee! Utility room has all you need. We fit a camper van and big car no problem on the drive, was easier to reverse on than attempt to reverse off. Ship Inn down the road has most delicious food - make sure you book. We would all like to return to Ty’n Cae and enjoy the peaceful cosy vibe of it again.

We really had a great time in your cottage.

The location and views are great. The cottage itself was lovely and the equipment / utensils were appropriate. Some things to consider when renting to 6 adults or more are: Additional light in the living room by left hand corner so that it is bright to play cards etc in the evening. An additional comfy chair in the living room for all people to comfortably see the tv. The L shape does not lend itself to this. Someone needs to sit on a chair or the floor. Seat covers for all the hard chairs when seated for meals. There needs to be a proviso that the drive cannot take 3 large cars. This would cause a potential risk of accident as it would jut out on to the road. A great place to stay overall with a lovely walk down to the pub and bistro as well as low tide walks around both sides of the bay to Llanddona Beach and Benllech

Lovely furnished, well equipped and tastefully decorated house with stunning views over Red Wharf Bay.

The property is within easy reach of beautiful walks and fabulous beaches as well as excellent restaurants, cafes and essential amenities. The owners provided an impressive and comprehensive guest information file including excellent details on bin days and recycling which tends to be lacking in many properties we have stayed in and can present a real problem when you don't know what to do. A bottle of wine and a phone call from the owner to see if we had settled in okay was appreciated. Our only disappointment was the hard and very uncomfortable outside furniture.

Lovely cottage with a home from home feeling.

Kitchen is well stocked with pans and cooking utensils. Furnishings are comfortable and clean. The garden is wonderful, with stunning views of the bay, secure and safe for our little border terrier to roam freely.

We all enjoyed our stay.

The location and views were excellent.Everything you could possibly need was available(except scissors ha ha ). There was plenty space both inside and outside. Comfy beds and powerful showers ,bbq used to eat outside one evening. We had a meal at the Ship Inn very good. Boat trip from Beaumaris and a visit to the Jail in Beaumaris was very interesting. Should have added the courthouse as well but didn’t have time. We would look to return possibly in the future.

A well kept clean property which has a relaxing aspect.

The beds are comfortable and the house is well equipped. Its location a few hundred yards from RWB is a definite ‘plus’. Most enjoyable.

Lovely home and views to die for

What an amazing view to wake up to each morning absolute heaven.

We really enjoyed our stay and I am sure we will book this property again. Only one suggestion a small sofa instead of the arm chair in the lounge would be good.

We knew as soon as we walked into the property we didn't want to leave.

It's the sort of home you want to explore inside and out. Everything was just so beautiful, the furnishings, the garden, the view...all just perfect. Great location, pubs, restaurants, beaches all within walking distance. 6 adults and 1 dog all had a wonderful time here and can't wait to return. Thank you so much for creating such a special place.

We have just had a lovely 3 nights at this cottage.

Everything as described on website. Great location, overlooking Red Wharf Bay. The views from the cottage were lovely. Nothing better than sitting outside watching the tide come in each morning. We did have to turn the heating off as the bedrooms upstairs were very warm - but we did have exceptionally good weather for March. Would definitely recommend this cottage to any friends. Contact from Debs the owner was nice. We didn’t need anything during our stay but I’m sure we could have contacted her at any point with any questions. We would love to return again next year.

Fantastic cottage with a high standard of accommodation and facilities.

Amazing location within walking distance of The Ship Inn or Boathouse and lovely walks along the beautiful nearby beaches. Best thing, however is the unbelievable sea view! With large patio windows all along the seaward side you can enjoy the view from everywhere you sit, just fabulous. Would recommend this place to anyone. Also dog friendly, our cavapoochon Lottie felt very at home!

A little hose on the tap outside to clean dogs would be great .

We thought the beds were a little soft for are likings but that’s are personal thoughts . It’s are second stay at the house and we had a great time again it is well equipped and comfortable. What makes this house is the view from the back yard the weather was good to us so plenty of time in the garden was spent . Great to walk on the beach every day with the dog then a drink at the boat house are the tavern on the bay are ship pub . The big question would we go back ? YES

There are a number of issues at this property the most serious being the garden which does not comply with Health and Safety regulations and is not suitable for small children and or elderly/disabled people.

There is an unprotected edge from the patio level to the garden level below and delaminated paving on the patio which is a trip hazard. The cooker is not fit for purpose as all the number settings are worn away and you are unable to see what temperature you are cooking on (the owner advised me that she was already aware of this) The furniture is very old and tired and there is a strong musty smell in the cottage and in particular in the wardrobes. The only good thing about this property is the view from the garden of Red Wharf Bay I contacted the owner of the property who agreed to refund her part of the booking fee but who now seems to have backtracked on her offer and does not return my messages she also asked me not to take to social media with any negative comments. Sykes have also refused to refund anything at all as they say that the photographs of the garden should have been enough for us to see the drop and felt that they did not need to put a disclaimer on their website. I have sent photographic evidence to Sykes of how dangerous the garden is but have heard nothing back. Clearly they do not care about the safety of their clients. We had to vacate the property after two hours and find alternative accommodation at our own expense with another holiday company (Boltholes & Hideaways, who were exceptionally helpful). We are now almost £1300 out of pocket. This is a warning to anyone thinking of booking this property to steer well clear of it if you have vulnerable/disable people in your party.

Had a great week, we would have happily book for next year but feel the 80% increase in price is excessive.

A fantastic location with great facilities.

The garden was brilliant for our children and dog. Lots of beautiful beaches, a short walk to the pub and restaurant and a short drive to the shops. We would love to stay here again.

The cottage was clean,tidy & warm.

There were some lovely touches such as Christi tree & decorations out. Guess we're wonderful & the walks plus local pub were brilliant. Only one very small neggle was that the wood stove didn't want to go no matter how hard I tried, it just didn't draw. Overall my family and & I had a wonderful & e enjoyable 5 days over the new year. Bins not emptied properly even though put out the night before as requested, black bin not emptied at all.

The holiday cottage is in a lovely location.

We love this cottage the facilities the situation where its at near pubs restaurants and fabulous beaches the house keeping is always excellent the view is the best then to finish with real fires we have stayed there at least 5 times and recommended it to our friends and they also enjoyed it too.

The cottage was so lovely and relaxing.

Great garden for the dogs and it was lovely and private with no neighbours overlooking or nearby. The views are priceless and we loved sitting with a coffee in the mornings just looking out over the big windows over the bay. Close to the local pub which is just a short walk away. Be careful if going along the main road though as there's no pavement and as its the only road into the bay, it gets very busy. Can be tricky with dogs and is very dark at night so bring torches. The kitchen was fully stocked with allsorts of gadgets and the living room was so cozy in the evenings. Only a couple of issues in the house itself. There were no facilities for getting ready in the smaller double bedroom. Could really do with a mirror near a plug or a dressing table. The small room above also needs a thicker blind on the windows to stop the sunlight in the morning that hits one side of the bed under the stairs. We drew the existing blind but it didn't block the sun out very much and the guests were woke early. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed the break though and we were sad to leave. The bistro and the pub in the bay serve lovely food and there are so many lovely places to visit just a short drive away.

For us the cottage lacks nothing, is comfortable, has a lovely patio and garden with fantastic views.

Peaceful and private. A perfect location.

Ty'n Cae holiday cottage, is located in a nice quiet area of Anglesey and less than a 10 minute walk to the shore on Red Wharf Bay, were we enjoyed a few good meals at ''The Boathouse''.

The cottage it's self was clean, and well furnished, we particulary loved the well equipped farmhouse style kitchen, which was kept warm and welcoming by the Aga. The beautiful view of the bay from the windows was breathtaking, and the garden was a pleasure to sit in and enjoy the same wonderful views.

Supremely comfortable bed, cosy sitting room, fabulous view from sun room, kitchen so well equipped it made me dizzy, Patio marvellous but 3 loose stones on edge a hazard.

Furniture on the grass well- positioned for sundowner but weeks of bird droppings on table and chairs made for less than pleasant aroma...

We thought the location of the cottage was brilliant, being 5/10 mins walk to Red Wharf Bay.

The garden has a spectacular view and is in the sunshine for most of the day until mid-evening. The cottage was particularly homely and had the feel of a home rather than a rental. For example, the kitchen was equipped for proper cooking, there were loads of games and jigsaws, proper instructions and tips provided by the owners. The showers were fabulous as well which is pretty important. We liked all the living space and double bedrooms being on one floor. The only downside is the lack of doors on the upstairs bedrooms. It's a shame that one of these is directly off the second double bedroom. One more comfy chair in the living room would also have been welcome! But this didn't spoil a lovely family holiday.

Great location.

Poor cottage. Overwhelming smell of heating oil. Smelly kitchen cupboards/wardrobes. Defective TV/DVD/Powerpoints. Poor inadequate cooker. Fridge with cracked panels internally. Rusty/old garden furniture. The place generally needs an overhaul with some new equipment for the price charged.

The cottage was well equipped, and in an excellent location.

The view from the garden was amazing. Very relaxing. Easy to get to Red Wharf Bay along the coast path. Had really good weather, so made the most of the garden.

We have visited this cottage on numerous occasions and at different times of the year.

The entire family absolutely adore it. It is always lovely and clean, warm and welcoming and the bedroom arrangements can cater for a variety of guests. I love arriving and hate leaving. The owners, Deb and Chris have always been extremely helpful and approachable. Thank you to you both.

We absolutely loved our stay at T’yn Cae.

The view across the bay and watching the sunrise each morning was extra special. The house was warm, cosy and very welcoming - the owners have done a great job with decorating and furnishings. Would have rated 5* however there were a few things that could be improved for future guests. We were told that there would be a hair dryer provided, however it was not - luckily I had brought my own. Despite this I have to say we were all very impressed with the amount that was provided - just little things like cling film, tin foil etc. Which you wouldn’t think to bring yourself but always comes in useful! In the manual it states that the freezer leaks a little so we needed to shut it carefully. We found even when shutting it carefully it still leaked. The kitchen tap also leaks from the bottom so the bench surface was always quite wet. Despite these little things we still had a throughly enjoyable stay and would love to return to the cottage again - they didn’t detract from our stay. Thank you for providing us with such a wonderful cottage for our Christmas break.

Loved the cottage!

Very cosy and a nice homely feel especially on winter evenings! It was very well equipped and the aga made it such a warm house. The view was stunning. Perfect location and we all loved it.

This is our 5th visit to Angelsea, all the previous visits being camping, in the area of Red Wharf Bay/Benlech. Cottage was Well equipped- there was nothing the owners hadnt thought of. Stunning views of the bay. great warm family feeling to the place.

We have been to this cottage numerous times and I don't think the location and view can be beaten.

The cottage is lovely and welcoming and accommodates 8 people. The bedroom arrangements cater for several combinations of guests and the lovely garden is safe and secure for both children and pets.

Ty n Cae is a fantastic holiday home with surprisingly spacious rooms.

It is very beautiful and tastefully decorated home with perfect comfortable social spaces, all the mod cons to make life easy and of course gorgeous views. The garden was very pretty too as the children loved to explore the mysterious paths! We loved using the natural hot-tub with its real wood fire heating up the water to a lovely temperature! Although it rained nearly every day, it did not stop us from going on interesting/brilliant trips with our young kids. The only slight hiccup with that the house has no blackout curtains to help the kids settle to sleep at night time (and even after long, exciting days our kids still went to bed really late and were still up early!) Our group was three families who live a long distance apart meeting for a shared holiday and this cottage made it a brilliant experience for us all and one we would love to do again.

Thanks for the use of Tyn y Cae it was a really welcome week and the accommodation really added to it.

What a pleasure it was when we arrived and saw the quality of the house and garden and views. The wonderful character evident throughout it, really is a credit to you. We used it to access all the beaches we could and had a great time and very welcome to come back to what felt like home. We will definitely return in the future thanks once again.
