Set in a spectacular position on the lakefront of Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake), a Site of Specific Scientific Interest and Special Area of Conservation, in Gwynedd and the Snowdonia National Park is the Glan Y Gro Apartments. Encompassed by 4.5 acres of woodland, these apartments make lovely bases from which to explore this scenic area, whether you’re a couple, a group of couples, or friends getting together but enjoying your own space throughout your break. Each with a balcony of their own, the apartments are ideal for avid birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts, with an abundance of wildlife to gaze upon, including otters and their young splashing around the shallows, buzzards, herons and owls that frequent the area, and you may even catch sightings of mergansers and goosanders, and eagles. We are conveniently located where a few points of interest are no more than one hour’s drive away from us. Thrill-seekers however, may be more interested in an action-packed day at Zip World Slate Caverns and reaching the summit of the iconic Yr Wyddfa (Mount Snowdon). The bustling market town of Bala lies within the beautiful Snowdonia National Park and is located at the head of Llyn Tegid, Bala’s famous lake, which is the largest natural lake in Wales and home to a unique fish called the Gwyniad, a relic of the Ice Age. Renowned as a centre for great watersports including fishing, sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and whitewater rafting, Bala is also the headquarters of the narrow gauge Bala Lake Railway. The town itself is steeped in history and has a range of interesting shops, inns and restaurants, and an historical Town Walk.
