“Unfortunately, when we arrived switching on the living room light tripped the main RCD, the reason became clear the next morning when we had showers and had water coming through from the light fitting.”

The response from Sykes was very good, sending a maintenance guy who provided a temporary fix which held for the remainder of our stay. Cleanliness of the property was disappointing, there were cobwebs all over the property walls, ceilings, and even inside one of the bedside lamp shades with a dead spider. The kitchen needs a deep clean, with the splashback thick with grease and greasy/cobwebby walls above the kitchen cupboards. The dining room table is incredibly sticky and wouldn't get ...

The kitchen needs a deep clean, with the splashback thick with grease and greasy/cobwebby walls above the kitchen cupboards. The dining room table is incredibly sticky and wouldn't get better with cleaning, meaning we had to buy a table cloth to play games on it. A table cloth should be provided.

The property

Bryn Uchaf is a pretty, renovated cottage situated on a quiet lane, backing onto ancient woodland with fabulous sea and mountain views reaching out over Red Wharf Bay.

This beautiful retreat is only a short walk from Benllech town centre, the stunning Benllech beach, and the Anglesey coastal path can also be accessed from here for stunning walks.

Stepping inside you'll find the well-equipped kitchen which is designed in a heart-warming fashion with contemporary units and black countertops.

The living/dining area has a beautiful open fire and comfortable sofas, which set you up for a toasty night in.

This leads to a dining area, which seats up to six people, a chance for everyone to come together and relax in comfort.

Outstanding views can be seen from most rooms in the property, and tasteful slate floors with underfloor heating give the property a truly bespoke edge.

Three bedrooms are accessed via an oak stairway and landing; two doubles are neutrally styled with a country-cottage feel, and views towards the magnificent seafront, which you can wake up to every day.

There is also a comfortable bunk room in cool blue and white tones looking out over woodland.

Finally, the large family bathroom includes both a freestanding bath and a walk-in shower, to match your preferences.

Outside is beautifully landscaped, with a large terrace that is ideal for relaxing and al fresco dining whilst overlooking the views.

The outbuilding houses laundry facilities as well as providing lockable storage for bikes and other outdoor equipment.

A variety of shops and cafes front the beach at Benllech, with a picnic area to the side, whilst the town centre offers more shops, pubs, hotels and restaurants.

The location has something to suit every taste, making this destination more than impressive for family holidays.

The rural surroundings bring peace and quiet, with easy access to the coast, Anglesey and of course the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.

Bryn Uchaf is the place to stay all year round.
