some brochures for days out, as such a lovely quiet place. The views are spectacular, everything you need has been thought about. Great as downstairs bathroom and toilet. There was only two of us, so didn’t use upstairs, as hubby disabled, but looked lovely.

We all had a great stay at the lodge.

The place was lovely, very spacious, and had everything we needed. The facilities were excellent, the views were beautiful, and the hot tub was a perfect addition to relax in. We would definitely recommend it and would happily stay again!

WOW!

What a find, this cottage is one of the best we have stayed in. The wow factor was there from the first moment we walked in, comfortable furnishings, everything you could need in the kitchen and comfortable beds and bedding. Outside the covered hot tub with attached laundry room and toilet was amazing, the weather wasn’t great during our stay but the hot tub was! Sgubor is a quiet haven for a relaxing get away and Country Cooks cafe all but next door does an amazing breakfast for your check out day.

We had a lovely stay at your cottage it was the perfect retreat for our honeymoon, only downsides were there were no games as advertised and it there wasn't anything nearby but it was also lovely to be secluded.

We had a fantastic week at this cottage.

It was a perfect way to spend some quality time with family. The cottage itself is so airy and spacious, we loved the modern feel to it. It had everything we needed practically wise. The views out of the kitchen window were the best we’ve ever had, which made for another beautiful setting watching the sun go down whilst sat in the hot tub. We would like to send a personal note to the owners for allowing us to move this break a year on, as my dad had been so poorly last year when we were supposed to go - my dad was able to join us thankfully and so we will be forever grateful to you for that.

Lovely place loved the hot tub & log burner the host Elliw was brilliant and very helpful , views were lovely and relaxing, very peaceful too .

Only thing I would have wanted was a wardrobe in the upstairs bedroom but wasn’t a problem for a short stay . Definitely will be back .

We loved our 2 night stay at Sgubor.

The property was beautiful and very clean. The jacuzzi under that cover looking out at stunning views was perfect. We cannot wait to return and it was the perfect property for what we needed. The only niggles we had were there's no mirror in the second bedroom which would have been very handy for getting ready, and not providing towels of any kind (yes it notes that on the info but shows them on the photos). Such a bulky thing to pack and sadly a few of us forgot them. Overall a wonderful weekend ☺️

We had a lovely stay and couldn't have wished for a better location or amenities within the cottage.

There were a few things that could be improved. Maybe a visible updated welcome pack. There were a lot of spiders and bugs in the property which resulted in us all getting bitten. We have recommended this property to family and friends.

We had the best time at Sgubor.

The standard of acconodation is really top notch and felt like a real luxury break. We had awful weather most days, so the covered hot tub was an absolute godsend. The kitchen is fully equipped and the utility is super handy to keep ontop of all the wet washing from trips to the lake and the beach (or muddy walks in the rain!). The view was absolutely spectacular. Throughout the day as the sky changes, the view gets even better. We came with 3 children and there was huge amounts of space for us to spread out. Yes the WiFi is a bit slow at times, it's a shame you can't use the hot tub on your last night and it would have been amazing had there been bunk beds in the downstairs room, or an option for an extra bed, so the kids didn't have to share a bed, but we had the best holiday and even sat in the hot tub, were looking at dates to book for next year! Elliw really has thoguht of everything and was so helpful and kind. One thing I would say, is take a torch or use the torch on your phone when leaving the hot tub and walk g back to the patio doors... Multiple times I forgot about the steps there and you can't see them in the dark. The accommodation was immaculately clean and really beautiful... We have been googling where the dining chairs are from!

The house is spacious and everything is of a high standard. Outdoor area with hot tub is lovely and great place to relax after a day on the hills.

Fabulous cottage in beautiful surroundings.

Plenty of space both inside and out with private garden and garden furniture. Hot tub under cover. Everything we could possibly need was provided. Weather was fantastic so made good use of the barbeque! We would love to return for another stay.

Buetifull accommodation and done to a very high standard with all the comfort of a home.

We rebooked to come again on the first day of our holiday. Was impresed that the hot tub was drained and cleaned on our last day so new guests have it all clean. Really private and quiet ideal for anyone wanting to escape stress.

Hugely enjoyable stay.

Beautifully appointed and furnished cottage, which provided everything for both a practical and fun, and comfortable visit. The listing was pleasingly accurate and the standard of the property was refreshingly uncompromising, from the beds and bathrooms to the style and cozy feel of the final result in every detail. A perfect location to enjoy stunning landscapes. The option to use the hot tub later on our penultimate day - beyond 12 noon - would have provided better value, as would removing the need to bring our own towels. None of this impacted an overwhelmingly triumphant and memorable stay.

Another relaxing stay in Sgubor.

We stayed here 4 years ago and always wanted to return. it’s really is like a home from home a fantastic barn conversion in a really peaceful location. The views are panoramic, you can’t beat sitting in the hot tub and admiring them. So much to see and do in North Wales, lots of waterfall walks and of course the stunning walks and scenery of Snowdonia. We visited Portmeirion and Llandudno this year which were stunning. We totally relax when we stay in Sgubor, so we’ve already rebooked for next year.

My 3 friends and I have enjoyed a fabulous, relaxing break at Sgubor.

House is beautifully finished, cosy, comfortable and charming. We loved taking in the beautiful views, whilst chilling in the hot tub. Would highly recommend if your looking for a relaxing holiday. Some constructive feedback, maybe put a mirror in the down stairs bedroom, apart from this the cottage has everything you could possibly need

Absolutly loved the property.

Views were beautiful and felt like home from home. We came seperatly and poatcode lead us both to a house further up. Luckily the lady was helpful and directed us back. Would only suggest make a sign bigger or on the other side of the road. But apart from that it was a beautiful weekend with friends. Will definatly return. Thanks!

Great place and great location, Been to a couple of there cottages and always find this one is the best with the best and biggest view , Hottub was amazing , just wish we had a little more time to use it on the last full day.

But overall very lovely place and have recommended to many people.

Couldn’t fault the cottage at all, very large spacious hot tub also.

Second time visiting this beautiful cottage, since our last visit there have been additions which made it even more enjoyable.

Everything was how we remembered it from the previous visit and it made it a very special time. Would highly recommend a stay in this cottage. Also for star gazers this place is situated away from light pollution which on a clear night the Milky Way is seen with the naked eye which is incredible.

Beautiful cottage, second time we have stayed although the first was next door rather than sgubor.

Immaculate condition both times! Not a single spec of dust anywhere. Fully equipped kitchen with everything you could possibly need for any meal type, amazing views. My only suggestion would be to have some kind of heater for the upstairs double room, as it is an open landing it is quite drafty and can get cold up there.

From the second we opened the front door we were astonished at the beautiful cottage.

Renovated to a fabulous standard and no corners cut, with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The house and gardens are all immaculate and we wouldn’t hesitate to re-book. Honest, the pictures do not do this beautiful building justice!

Very disappointed had no use of hot tub on our last day they emptied them at midday apparently so they hot anoth for next guests who don't arrive to 4pm (fri) following day and it's nothing to do with covid they were cleaned same as usual when we've stayed here before hot tub was emptied morning of your departure when we've arrived hot tub has always been plenty hot anoth for use personally we feel we was robbed of use of it on our last day which we had paid for and reading their feedback book few people feel the same Very disappointing and spoilt the holiday heated towel rails underfloor heating didn't work either but the main issue was hot tub in less than 12 hours that hot tub had reached it temperature there was NO need to drained it till morning of departure

The cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

Excellent hot tub. Loved the washing machine and drier. The views were outstanding. Handy for visiting surrounding areas.

We had a lovely week the cottage was spotless clean compaired to other sykes cottages the hot tub amazeing to relax in after a day out would love to return to this lovely peacefull cottage again in the future a Big credit to the owners .

We had the most wonderful time in Sgubor, the cottage was absolutely beautiful, even better than pictures.

It was clean and comfortable and the hot tub just absolutely made our trip. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful location in a fantastic area of Wales, lots to do within just 30/40min drive.

The house was clean & beautifully decorated and well equipped. We had a few small issues the first being the hot tub which wasn’t heating - it needed a new part and so we spent the first few days unable to use it. :( The host Elliw however responded immediately & arranged for someone come out to fix it as soon as she could. There is work going on just behind the cottage which we didn’t know about until we arrived - The workmen were lovely & very considerate but we did hear them at around 8am in the morning. The house behind is part of the same development & will be stunning when finished - We’d actually love to come back to stay there!! Overall we had a lovely week and would definitely recommend.

Lovely conversion which has been done very well.

Attention to detail is great. Hot tub was great especially being under a porch. We have just come home from a weeks stay and rebooked for next year before we left.

.. what can I say! This place exceeded all expectations. It was absolutely stunning, the lodge, the setting, all the little touches I really couldn’t fault the place. I stayed with friends over the weekend and came back with my husband for a few more days. Just perfection. Want to go back and already on the hunt for days we can do next year. Thank you! X

It was a lovely place to stay rest quiet and relaxing for us all.

Only issue was in the welcome book we were told to shower before entering the hot tub and with the closest shower being in the downstairs bathroom we then had to walk wet through the house to get to the hot tub. Perhaps put a shower in the utility room or an outside shower.

The only niggle (but not too much of a problem) could have done with wardrobe space upstairs and a mirror in the downstairs bedroom.

Please don’t take this as negative though the property is fantastic and we will be back.

This is truly an amazing cottage - only 20 minutes drive to the local town and 10 minute drive to the farm shop/cafe.

The cottage has everything you could possibly need! Very clean and felt at home from the moment you walk in. The hot tub was amazing after a day of walking watching the sun set. Just truly amazing I can not recommend enough 5* - already booked for next year!!

The holiday cottage was superb.

It was lovely and clean, very spacious, the views were stunning and the hot tub was great especially after a long day out. The owner was very friendly too. Key collection was easy and the directions given were easy to follow. This was our first visit to wales and we were not disappointed and will be back again soon.

its a beautiful cottage with lots of space an privacy the hot tub is a big bonus especially after walking Snowdon to the summit views are amazing its just heaven dident want to leave its very clean and modern owners are friendly and nice will definitely being going back one day

Untidy grassed area

We spent a wonderful week here in a lovely well cared for Cottage set in glorious surroundings.

Building work still going on but didn’t cause too much of a disturbance, very considerate workmen. The hot tub was wonderful and the water is changed after each guest leaves. A mirror in the downstairs bedroom would have been useful, and somewhere to hang clothes in the upstairs bedroom, but this is by no means a criticism just a little hint to the owner.

It's very clean and quit.

The property is set in a stunning location and is maintained to a high standard, it really is s home from home and so easy to settle into which makes starting your holiday easier.

We loved the morning visits from the cows which come right up to the fence of the properties garden, there’s also lots of sheep near by so if you go during lambing season you get to see plenty. The hot tub is a great touch especially the Bluetooth and a great place place to watch the sun set over the hills, it’s well looked after with daily visits. The separate laundry facilities are a great touch too and have all you needed to make sure no laundry comes home. I agree with other reviews on a clear night the sky is stunning, so star gazing was definitely a highlight. The owner is polite and helpful and they keep the property to a high standard. There are some incredible walks a short drive away, we would recommend the walk around Bala and Rhaeadr Y Graig Lwyd (waterfalls and woods) If you have children we would recommend Park Hall Countryside Experience (book online on day before 9:30am to save money) The property is around a 25 minute drive to a local ALDI and town with a play area and skate board area opposite next to a river. The property may have others near by but still you feel isolated in the middle of rolling hills, we still felt we had the the level of privacy we expected from the booking. There was building work going on during our stay but we barley noticed it and the builders were respectful and the noise level was barely noticeable. Overall it’s a beautiful property in a stunning location with easy access to the A5 which you can see the occasional car drive by on in the distance but you don’t hear. Can’t wait to re visit.

Positives: - Beautifully light, airy, warm house.

Neutrally decorated and finished to a high standard. - The hot tub is excellent. Great views and spotlessly clean. - All of the furniture is good quality (no dodgy beds or mattresses!) and comfortable. - Plenty of space for 5 people with no issues at all. - Beautiful location. Brilliant having it sit on the A5 for ease of travel but you don't really get any traffic noise at all. - The stars. On a clear night the stars are amazing. Hardly any light pollution around so the sky is so bright and beautiful. Negatives: - Creaky stairs when you are trying to be stealthy and there's a toddler asleep! (Yeah ok you've got me not really an issue but it's the only thing we thought of!) - Maybe put the welcome pack out on the table so it's easy to see and find and add the kitchen manuals into it. Basically highly recommended. You won't be disappointed.

Having over the last 11 years taken 35 plus holidays with hot tubs I would like to say this cottage was in the top 5.

The accommodation was immaculate with everything you would need available. The hot tub was undercover with an attached room with toilet, washer and dryer for our use. We would recommend Sgubor to anyone who want's to get away from it all and have a totally relaxing holiday. The views from the hot tub were spectacular. Terry & June Akrigg

Cottage had wonderful views at the back.

Quiet and very comfortable. Hot tub was an added luxury. Excellent facilities. Warm and very clean. Not a moan but no two pin plugs so need to take an adaptor. Dave had a battery operated shaver but we could not plug in charger for electric toothbrush. Excellent farm shop close to cottage. Booked a number of excursions in advance. Three train rides and a canal trip. Excellent Sunday lunch at The Corn Mill in Llangollen.( again need to book) . Train ride there and back from Corwen. Good location for visiting Snowdonia.

Stunning place to stay, stunning views and a stunning stay in North Wales.

We loved everything about Sgubor and will definitely be returning asap.

Beautifully presented cottage, very clean throughout.

After basing the trip upon the Zip line experience in Snowdonia and the train to the top of Mount Snowdon we set of sorting our road trip and looking for a nice cottage to relax at.

We were not expecting very much which may be why we were so blown away by the location. From the back of the house you have a sweeping landscape that gets the sun all day long! The hot tub made a lovely extra to relax in as the moon lit up the hills and the temperatures dropped. Sykes cottages came up through google as we looked for our location to stay. We stumbled upon Sgubor and the pictures looked great - but they don’t do it justice! The house is imaculate, finished to a high standard and has everything you can want. You get in, settle down, enjoy everything at ease - undisturmbed by anything other than the sheep grazing from afar. I could not recommend this cottage more, in the perfect location (great if you enjoy driving or riding), beautiful warm cottage with all amenities you could possibly need within one of the most stunning locations I have ever been.

This property was absolutely stunning.

Modern, immaculate, cosy, fantastic views and extremely private. The hot tub was a real draw for us and our two boys loved it. A memory I will treasure is climbing Mount snowdon, returning to the barn and sitting in the hot tub looking out at the welsh countryside, heaven.

Beautiful stay at this wonderful property,Spotlessly clean and well equipped,although there were 3 other properties nearby it was very private and we didn't see anyone else,the hot tub was very clean and the water was changed every time a new guest arrived which was excellent,a wooden gazebo was built over the hot tub which is great if the weather isn't,views were stunning and lovely walks on your doorstep,the property was really warm and the owner was extremely helpfulclose to the Rhug estate which had a lovely farm shop and Bistro,also a takeaway for burgers etc,we ate in the bistro and was really fabulous food,close to Bala and Betws y Coed

! We would definitely go back - the views from the hot tub are amazing and what better way to spend your evening?? To make the experience even better we would of liked an information pack showing where the pubs, restaurants and walks are. But that is only our preference. A perfect weekend!!

The cottage was amazing, but not totally clear from Sykes write up just how good it really was.

The cottage had a private hot tub, yet it wasn’t called private, which left us guessing till we got there, as we wondered if it was a shared hot tub! It was so quiet , thought that too could also have a mention. Definitely the place to go to totally relax in peace. Would go back.
