“We've stayed in numerous places in this area and this is the biggest and one of the best we've stayed at.”

All of the rooms are large, well furnished and equipped. Great sea views of the tide coming in and out. No trouble parking and internet worked perfectly. You won't be disappointed. The only downside was lugging the case up the stairs.

“Our second stay in this lovely flat.”

Its location is perfect with good views from all rooms. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable lounge furniture. Quirky decorative touches that we enjoyed. After days out it was sheer pleasure to turn the key and feel delight to be back in such good surroundings. Small point. It was unseasonably cold at the start of our stay and we would have welcomed some instructions to enable us to turn the heating on for a spell. We left message for caretaker but he didn't respond. Altogether a wonderful place to stay. We will return next year.

“There was some slight confusion with the address.”

The actual building is number 30 Marine terrace but is advertised as 3 vista marina which is the name given to one apartment within the building which isn’t visible until you go in the building.

“We spent a wonderful week in Bay View.”

Stunning views, well equipped, clean, warm and so comfortable. We have been visiting Criccieth for many, many years and had our 'special' place we stayed in annually that we lost when the owner sold up after the pandemic... Although we stayed elsewhere, it just wasn't the same, but now we have found Bay View we feel we have definitely found another place that will help us make more family memories. We have already booked for next year! The only 'complaint' I could have was not from Bay View itself, but what sounded like a 'gamer' from, we believe, the flat below, who was playing rather enthusiastically until after 4am a couple of days! However, we would never allow this to put a damper on this beautiful place!

I'm so glad you found us at Bay View, I'm a real fuss-pot and like my comfort so I'm happy you also found the apartment comfortable, sometimes when its cold and blustery outside I particularly love to just sit looking out of the window glad to be snug inside. I was concerned to hear about the noise from below, We have a lovely lady living below and I'm sure she would be shocked that any noise from her flat would be annoying to others. “Towards the end of the season, so some general maintenance needed on the property.”

One of the bedrooms seemed cold/damp and had a very musty smell (smoke), luckily we weren't using that room, it felt really uninviting. It felt like the floors had been cleaned with a dirty mop, some hair had to be removed when we arrived. I recleaned the basin in the bathroom. BUT we loved our stay here. Great accommodation, amazing views. Apart from the small general maintenance and not quite as clean as we'd have liked, no other problems. Thank you.

“When we arrived the apartment had not been cleaned and the beds were unmade.”

We were invited to use the Penthouse for over an hour whilst the cleaners worked, and received a bottle of Fizz. We needed more towels, more toilet rolls (which we bought ourselves) and liquid soap in each toilet/bathroom. I would appreciate some money back in compensation. The owner apologised for the mix up by Sykes and sorted the situation quickly, but it was a very disappointing start to our holiday.

I am sorry that this mistake meant that the apartment was not ready for you when you arrived. I am sad to read your feedback as I did my best to resolve the issue right away. As I said to you when I apologised profusely for this human error, this is the one and only time in more than 10 years that this situation has occurred. You were invited to use the Penthouse above to wash, relax and have a cup of tea for just an hour while our cleaners replaced the linen and cleaned. Our maintenance man, John, arrived within minutes, apologised and gave you a bottle of Prosecco. We have extra towels and toilet rolls on site. If you had needed additional items you only had to ask. “Overall it was nice but I wouldn't recommend staying at this property with children.”

The views are wonderful, sofa and beds were comfy, kitchen well equipped, and amazing bath in the window. Our stay was hampered however by the strong smell of cigarettes coming from the flat below (hence the children comment), especially in the rear bathroom and bedroom. We had to move our baby from the room because the smell was so awful and we were unable to use the bathroom as a result. Our clothes and towels smelled of smoke too. There is a strict no smoking policy in the building but you can tell someone is smoking inside as the smell comes and goes and is very strong. A lot of the windows didn't either work which meant we couldnt let fresh air in when it was hot and smokey smelling, or close them firmly at night when it was windy so it was quite loud. Other issues we found were mould smelling furniture, dvd player not working, and old food down the back of the sofa. Maybe it was just bad luck, but I read other reviews about the same issues. Criccieth was very pleasant, the castle has great views and there are lots of nice places to get ice cream!

“We had an excellent stay in the flat and felt it comfy and very well equipped.”

We spent hours staring at the sea, did superb walks and spotted dolphins in the bay that no one else seemed to notice! However we hope you will appreciate the following feedback: The instructions on how to find the house were fine, until we started to look for the white sign "To the Beach". The sign was not at all easy to spot, unless coming from Llanstumdwy and was pointing down the High Street and not over the bridge. Once over the railway bridge and onto the Criccieth seafront the instructions were inadequate and very misleading. The house is pink, not yellow. The address should be 3 Vista Marina, 30 MARINE TERRACE, Criccieth LL52 0EL. We thought Vista Marina was a small side road and 3, the number of the house. I know Marine terrace well from childhood and was baffled by the address. These were unnecessary and unhelpful complications, especially when arriving in dusk or in darkness. Once in the house there was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke down the corridor in the back bedroom RHS and back toilet and shower room LHS. Unfortunately for the first three days of the holiday there was a very noticeable and unpleasant smell of drains in the master bedroom. This appeared to be coming from the bath and its plumbing in the bay window. The roller blind roller attachment were very fragile. We tried pulling the curtains across in the living room and they became stuck and obviously were not meant to be used as full curtains. Similar problem with the master bedroom curtains. The beaded curtain between the master bathroom and bedroom we felt was both unhygienic ( it felt sticky) and very noisy.

“We couldn't open any of the windows.”

They all seemed to be jammed, some slightly open but not closeable. This meant we couldn't open the windows when we wanted to but also we couldn't properly close the windows when the extremely strong winds were whistling through on one particularly stormy night. This was the only downside. Otherwise everything was just perfect and very comfortable.

Fantastic base whether you want to explore the peninsula, go mountain walking, have a beach day or just spend the day relaxing in comfort in the apartment. The sofas are lovely and comfortable and if you want to chill you can sit in the window and take in the fabulous views. Not necessarily negatives, but a couple of things to note. As an apartment, you will hear the people upstairs. They were only there for a couple of days when we were there, but could be an issue if they were up late at night. Shared washing machine only takes 50p pieces, £3.50 a wash, so if like us you have an active holiday worth saving them up beforehand. The chippy by the castle is great, best to go early though as the queues build. Poachers was a lovely restaurant, best to book though. All in all great apartment in a beautiful location and well worth visiting.

the location and view is amazing! Lots of space in the apartment, The owner is very quick to sort any issues, there were no major issues but I would ask the owner to just keep an eye on maintenance we noticed a few things such as 5 bulbs not working but this did not effect our stay, might also be a good idea also to have the WiFi box inside the apartment so guests can reset it themselves if needed.

A few things could be improved though: a stair gate for the steps in the landing would be good. Also, some of the windows didn't close properly, and there was a constant smell of cigarette smoke. Partially hidden by incense sticks, but perhaps better to sort out the source of the problem.

No 3 Vista Marina is a holiday apartment with a difference.

Located on the second floor of The Big Pink House, Vista Marina, 30 Marine Terrace.a traditional Victorian seaside residence that is just a few minutes’ stroll along the promenade to the popular seaside town centre of Criccieth with a handful of lovely restaurants and arguably the best ice cream shop in North Wales! Oozing with hints of bygone days but tastefully refurbished with a touch of humour and unrestricted sea views from the lounge and master bedroom.

Enter the lobby on the ground floor and climb the grand staircase to the 2nd floor.

The apartment has a cosy sitting room with wonderful sea views and a well equipped kitchen.

The master bedroom has a roll top bath with a great view, the ideal place to soak away the aches and pains of the day whilst enjoying views over cardigan bay to Harlech castle and Barmouth.

Following the theme of luxurious decadence, the king size bed is dressed with a soft fluffy faux leopard skin throw and a wall hung flatscreen TV!

Often described as the 'Pearl of Wales on the shores of Snowdonia’, this delightful seaside town is situated just 5 miles from Porthmadog. The town’s 13th-century castle perches majestically on a rocky outcrop, dominating the skyline and offering superb views of Tremadog Bay and the Snowdonia mountains. Watersports enthusiasts will be delighted by the two beaches, whilst walkers and bikers are spoilt for choice by the proximity of the beautiful Snowdonia National Park.
