Begin by entering into the spacious hallway and be met with an excellent ground-floor double bedroom to your left, home to an en-suite shower too, perfect for the older generation travelling with you.

This bedroom opens into the heart of the home, the lofty sitting room which features a modern woodburning stove, large corner sofa, two other sofas and a Smart TV, as well as a three-quarter size snooker table, providing plenty of ways to relax.

Another relaxing spot can be found in the second sitting room, with another woodburning stove in here, TV and lots of plush seating, you can wind down with a warm drink and a good book, while others head to the double garage turned utility/games room for a table tennis tournament, table football, or darts, with the washer and elliptical trainer in here too.

Rustle up some scrumptious home-cooked meals using the impressive range cooker in the kitchen/diner, with a long farmhouse dining table to seat everyone, you can spend long evenings feasting on delicious food, refreshing drinks and wonderful company.

Spend time outside in the idyllic and tranquil garden setting, with just under an acre of grounds to explore, you can relax at one of the two patio areas, watch over as children and canine companions play on the secure lawn, and take a morning stroll through the woodland areas before spying some wildlife in the two small ponds, with the ruins of Denbigh friary right next door within the boundary of Abbey Cottage offering local history on your doorstep too.

Retire to one of the bedrooms after another fun-filled day, with a ground-floor king-size bedroom completing the ground-floor layout, and three other bedrooms on the first floor, including a king-size and a triple bedroom (3 single beds in a very large bedroom) which both benefit from Jack-and-Jill access to a shower room, and another king-size, all with quality furnishings, with lovely views and plenty of storage space for your things.

Freshen up in the spacious shared bathroom, choosing to wake with a refreshing shower or take an indulgent soak in the Jacuzzi bath tub, adding a little bit of luxury to your trip.

Stroll into the town of Denbigh and reach pubs and shops in minutes, pick up fresh and local ingredients for your own culinary creations, or dine out at one of the many restaurants and pubs.

Enjoy a family walk up to Denbigh Castle (10 minute walk from the house), resting on a steep hilltop, you can take in the amazing views of North Wales from here and get some amazing holiday snaps next to this dramatic fortress.

Walkers can delight in being within easy reach of the wonderful Clwydian Range and Offa’s Dyke, with the highest point being the ever popular Moel Famau, you can embark on picturesque walks here, with the Loggerheads Country Park also great for family strolls.

Those who enjoy mountain biking can head out to Llandegla for some brilliant tracks and trails along the moors, while watersports enthusiasts can head north to the North Wales coastline and visit the beaches of Prestatyn and Colwyn Bay, with the latter being home to Colwyn Bay Watersports, perfect for beginners.

Also in this area is the Welsh Mountain Zoo, presenting a great day out for all ages, and the bustling seaside hub of Llandudno, where a pretty Victorian pier, an attractive promenade and a host of attractions and amenities can entertain, not to mention the excellent restaurants and cafés here too!

Ruthin 8 miles; Prestatyn 12 miles; Llandudno 23 miles.

Denbigh dates back to the 11th century and boasts the remains of a 13th century castle, perched on a steep hill above the town and commanding some superb views over the surrounding countryside. Denbigh is a busy little town, with a variety of shops and pubs, and a number of events including walking festivals, beer festivals, the Denbigh and Flint Annual Show, the Denbigh Plum Festival, and a monthly People's market. Within easy reach of Denbigh are the cathedral at St Asaph, the seaside resorts of Prestatyn or Llandudno, and the historic city of Chester, over the border into England. The Snowdonia National Park is a short drive, with its stunning lakes, mountains, walking and cycling, while the Lleyn Peninsula and excellent beaches on the Isle of Anglesey are ideal for a day trip. Plenty to see and do at any time of the year!
