Enjoying a lovely position in the small village of Minffordd in North Wales is this delightful cottage, Pen Dinas.

Offering guests a homely spot to rest after days of adventure in the nearby Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park and Isle of Anglesey, Pen Dinas is set over three floors and is near to the city of Bangor.

Park up on your off-road parking space on the drive, very sought after in the village, and walk through the enclosed front garden to arrive at the front door.

Take off coats and boots in the porch before being welcomed into the sitting room; on a cool evening light the open fire and relax on one of the armchairs into your evenings with a TV and DVD player to entertain.

Two steps up takes you to the bathroom, home to a bath with an overhead shower, so you can freshen up whichever way you prefer.

A double bedroom also rests on the ground floor boasting lovely pine furniture to store you things, whilst travelling up to the first floor will bring you to a charming bunk room, ideal for children as it also has a TV and PlayStation, and finally another double bedroom.

Spend your evenings in the kitchen/diner located on the lower ground floor and accessed via a slate staircase; here you'll find all the essentials for a self-catered stay along with a dining table and chairs to gather around and tuck into a tasty home-cooked meal.

The lovely village of Minffordd is just next door to the city of Bangor, with plenty of shops and supermarkets for picking up essentials and ingredients, along with pubs and restaurants to visit.

Enjoy exploring the area by visiting Bangor's local landmarks, with the Cadeirlan Bangor Cathedral, Clock Tower and Firends of Gwynedd Museum & Art Gallery all worth visiting.

Take a stroll along Bangor Promenade and walk out onto Garth Pier to soak up the beautiful views over the Menai Strait and over to Anglesey.

The National Trust's Penrhyn Castle is nearby, home to a painting collection, an industrial railway museum and restored kitchens.

Venture into the beautiful scenery of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park to enjoy a lovely hike through meadows up to Aber Falls, a picturesque waterfall , or head further south to the heart of the park to the mountain Carnedd Llewelyn with various trails for different abilities and some picturesque viewpoints.

Menai Bridge 2.5 miles; Beaumaris 7 miles; Caernarfon 10 miles; Llanberis 11 miles.

Bangor is a university town on the North Wales coast with a large range of shops, bars and restaurants. It is the main crossing point for the Isle of Anglesey with two road bridges across the Menai Strait. Across the water, the castle and pier at Beaumaris make a lovely day out, or you can catch a boat to enjoy a trip out to Puffin Island. The Anglesey Coastal Path takes in beautiful scenery, and the island is home to many fine beaches including Rhosneigr, Trearddur Bay and Red Wharf Bay. The NT mansion Plas Newydd is on the island, while on the mainland further NT properties can be found including Penrhyn Castle and Bodnant Gardens. The spectacular mountains and lakes of Eryri (Snowdonia) are just a short drive way, with plenty of castles, beaches and other attractions on offer in this wonderful region.
