It’s looking tired overall and definitely in need of some TLC e.g. the leather sofa is cracked over the back and the pieces are all over the floor/piled up under the sofa. The main bathroom flooded every time we showered, and with a family of 4 showering each day, it made the bathroom really unpleasant. The water also leaks out somehow into the hallway. Clearly this must be something the owner is aware of, as the skirting boards have started to deteriorate and are discoloured.

Another thing that stood out was the poor standards of cleaning. The floors were dusty and the amount of dust/sand under the furniture in the living room was ridiculous. The balcony was also dirty - covered in sand/bird poo. I know this is something that will obviously build up, but it definitely hasn’t seen a brush or wipe for a long time. There were lots of random bits of rubbish still in the property when we arrived too e.g. tissues, wrappers, children’s toy figures etc.
Finally, the lady in the apartment next door was also very rude to our children (12 & 15), who had nipped back to get jumpers. One of them stood on the balcony whilst the other stayed down on the grass. They were talking to each other and laughing and she came out telling them off, saying she would tell the owner and they would be thrown out. Later in the week, I heard her having a go at the neighbours on the other side. I know this isn’t about the property, but it made my children quite apprehensive for the rest of the week.
Now, to be fair, we didn’t contact the owner as the issues didn’t spoil our holiday, but it does mean we wouldn’t choose this particular property again. We’ve stayed in other apartments in the complex and they have been much better. Just small touches like no milk/bread or a couple of dishwasher tablets left for us were missing, and these are things that we’ve always had over the last 10 years we’ve been coming to Morfa Nefyn. Sadly, for us, it just didn’t have that homely feeling that it had the last time we stayed.
I will contact the cleaner to address the cleanliness issues.
The bathroom problem is news to us and the skirting board discolouration is an old problem caused by a leak under the bath which has been fixed some time ago. I am visiting the apartment myself next week and will check out the issue.
I cannot comment on the behaviour of our neighbour but suffice it to say we have always found her to be kind and helpful to us and our guests.
I am looking to replace the sofas asap as I agree they are looking tired
I would just add that this is the first negative feedback we have had in a long time.
