The cottage was well fitted out and in a great location but was let down with some major issues.

The main issue, and I think the most important, was the standard of cleanliness. The drinking glasses and some cutlery were not clean and needed to be put through the dish washer again. We moved the living room furniture around to suit our party more and we were quite disgusted with what we found under the couches. They had obviously not been cleaned under for quite some time, it was dirty with dust and crumbs, bits of toys and games, a bracelet and worse of all a very big toe nail and used tissues (several tissues were found) and at this point I have to admit we considered leaving and returning home. We had guests with us and to be honest, we were quite embarrassed. The decoration was quite poor with a lot of missing paint around door frames. The carbon monoxide detector had no back on & had dead batteries in it so didn’t work. The bathroom door downstairs didn’t close and had been mentioned several times in the guest book but had obviously been ignored, and some sealer was mouldy around the showers. The log burner hadn’t been cleaned out and was full of ash & the hot tub wouldn’t hold its temperature and was not hot enough to use. The bed linen and towels were old & off white and when we stripped the linen from the bed before we left, there was a blood stain on the bottom sheet. The location of the cottage was perfect but was let down by some problems, the biggest being the cleanliness. I don’t want to spend time in a place that isn't clean and unfortunately we won’t be returning. I would appreciate some feedback back please regarding these issues. Many thanks Sharon & Tony Walsh

Wonderful house, very comfortable and had everything you’d need and more.

All the facilities were modern and in great condition, and the beds were very comfortable. Had a fantastic time staying here!

We had a wonderful family trip to Anglesey staying at Trearrdur View, and would definitely return.

The house is very comfy and cosy for a family, and has a great location with easy access to the beach and other local amenities. The hot tub was fabulous, and the sofa and beds were very comfy! A few things could’ve been improved for next time - the towels provided were a little damp on the beds upon arrival; there was no hand soap in the bathrooms nor cloths to wipe down the kitchen. Toilet roll was limited - the property sleeps 10 but we ran out on the first day. Finally, we did find a few personal items leftover from previous guests - some underpants in the bathroom and an (opened) nit comb in one of the bedroom bedside drawers. There are 2 bathrooms for the whole property, which was fine, but the downstairs bathroom door did not shut / lock properly so we had to prop a chair underneath the handle when in use. The door handles were a little stiff and a few family members got locked in the attic room a couple of times! In general, we booked this property via a Sykes Cottages third party, HomeToGo, and despite 5/6 WhatsApp’s to Sykes Cottages over 1 week prior to the trip on the number provided by the automated emails, I never received a reply, nor was the listing showing up on my Sykes account, so I couldn’t have made any requests/changes or managed the booking even if we’d wanted to! That could definitely be improved, and I wouldn’t book via that method again. All in all, a lovely stay and would recommend, with a few small tweaks to really enhance the stay for next time!
