Very nice cottage in a great location to explore this part of Snowdonia.

Great garden to sit out and enjoy the mountain views. Very good facilities in general although would be nice to have access to the washing machine. A few still dirty plates when we arrived in the dishwasher, but overall very good

Quiet and remote and well equipped and tasteful furnishings. Lovely garden and scenery right outside the door. Perfect for anyone looking for a retreat from the madding crowd. We will return!

Peaceful location, but very well located for access to walks around Snowdonia as well as many other attractions.

This is a lovely little cottage, and very well equipped.

It’s nicely set back from the road and has a feeling of space and quiet. The narrow East / West Nantlle valley provides great views of Snowdon to W and towards Penygroes to the E. Delightful position in a valley that is less travelled than many but gives good access to many walks, as well as the Llyn Peninsula. There is no mobile signal and the WiFi is poor (as clearly noted by the owner) but if you want some peace with fabulous views in a lovely cottage, then this one ticks boxes. We’ve booked to go again.

The cottage is lovely, peaceful and quiet, well apart from the odd sheep :-) Lots of great walks within 12 miles, including to the peak of Snowdon and back from the cottage.

I would definitely go again.

Lovely little cottage in a AMAZING location.

The kitchen and bathroom are small but have everything you need.

We were thrilled with Tan Meredydd - traditional, remote, well equipped, fantastic views and a wood burner!

It was the perfect base for a week of walking in Eryri. We were glad we took our slippers as the stone floor in March was very chilly underfoot!

Had an absolutely fantastic stay the little house was amazing very cosy and had everything we needed we stayed over Christmas and there was a tree up and decorations and plenty of DVDs and games for my two small boys, the location and scenery is absolutely stunning we will definitely be visiting again soon.

My husband, son 14, daughter 11 and I absolutely loved staying at Tan Meredydd.

Cosy, comfortable and clean. Such detail and thought into every room. At the foot of the mountains, one can drive to Snowdon in around 20 minutes to start the climb. Closer still is the Nantlle Ridge, Yr Garan mountain, which is an easier climb and beautiful views. Just behind the cottage is a smaller hike up the valley. The local village restaurant Cwellyn Arms is just wonderful and so welcoming, great food. Would recommend to all for the best located cottage to explore the area.

A wonderful cottage that is well equipped and very comfortable.

A big plus of this cottage was the fantastic view down the valley to Snowden.

The picturesque valley surrounded by craggy mountains was what made this holiday home special to us. A plentiful supply of firewood for the very efficient and welcoming wood stove was another plus. The kitchen was well equipped, though instructions to use the induction hob would have been appreciated. I would have appreciated a wider bed. I am 6'2. My wife and I kept crashing into each other in the night... The toilet pan was too close to the cupboard wall for my long knees. The shower was good and the heater efficient. The towels were soft. In fact, too soft...a rougher towel does a better drying job! Sadly, the Wi-Fi did not work in spite of our following instructions to reconnect. So I was not able to listen to my downloaded BBC sounds concerts... Location is everything. This location provided us with a quiet retreat with good communications to local towns and castles and coastlines. Another plus were the two excellent local walks, accessible from the house. Our local town, Beddgelert, had a very helpful tourist office with local information. I have left the leaflets in the house to help future residents.

This is an amazing little cottage with all the things you need in and around it to have a cracking holiday.

This is the second time we have stayed here. We would highly recommend the little house.

We had a well relaxed and comfortable stay in the cottage.

The scenery is unmatched, as is the wildlife that's right on your doorstep. It was so peaceful. Signal is a tricky one, but that can't be helped when you are in these locations. Our child loved the swing & the massive choice of games and DVDS. We hope you return someday.

Beautiful place to walk in Snodownia, close to the main trails and not far from Edwards I's castles.

Lovely cottage, quiet and convenient. The poor Wifi prevent us from working too much, which can be seen as a advandage.

We had a lovely stay in this cosy cottage.

Kitchen was very well equipped. The walls are very thick we didn’t need to use the log burner was really warm. Quiet and peaceful surroundings. The birds and sheep was the only thing you could hear. Lovely walks nearby. A must are the ice creams in beggeret we ate in the Prince Llewelyn a couple of times.

We have recommended it to friends already! Such an incredible location. (Though the pinpointed location on the map on the Menai Cottages website is slightly wrong.)

Fabulous site, very cozy, appreciated the good supply of wood.

We were rather disconcerted that the back door (a designated fire escape) was completely wedged shut, but impossible to bolt (the bolts are present but couldn't be aligned to lock). We were scared to force the door open in case we could then not close it at all! Personal preference, I know, but we would rather have access to a washing machine than a dish washer particularly given the location and welsh weather.

Everything about this little house was brilliant and the welcome treat was a lovely surprise.

The location was excellent also. Would we go back, yes most definitely however the check in time of 4:30 is far too late. We felt we lost a days holiday. We travelled over 5 hours to get there and wanted to get in asap so that we could enjoy the afternoon/evening. 3pm appears to be the norm for everywhere else. That said we will be back as it was such a brilliant holiday and place to stay. Very well equipped and attention to detail. Thank you little house for a great stay.

The most wonderful holiday cottage, nestled in the best location in Snowdonia, it sits in a quiet and peaceful valley, with Snowdon quietly watching over.

Inside the cottage, there is everything you could need for a wonderful family holiday and the owners even left us a little treat for our arrival. The beds were so comfortable and the Mountain View from our bed each morning was a highlight! From the cottage, there are walks on the doorstep and the views in every direction are spectacular. it is in a perfectly central location, with the nearest convenience store, a co-op, only 10 minutes away and you can get to all that Snowdonia has to offer within about 30 minutes in any direction. We fell in love with the tranquility of this wonderful cottage and we know we will return again and again. A favourite family holiday location for many years to come. Thank you for having us!

A lovely little holiday cottage, very comfortable and cosy with everything that you need.

Set in a very peaceful beautiful valley but very close to amenities, Snowdon trails, steam railways, lakes and the wonderful village of Beddgelert. A short drive away from Llanberis and Betws-y-Coed which are definitely recommended. We found the cottage to be exactly as described and loved it.

Lovely accommodation in a great location.

We were fortunate to have very good weather, but can imagine that the cottage would be very cosy even when the weather might be more challenging.

Superb position. Easy to access walks from doorstep. For longer stays, access to washing machine would be helpful. Local information on walks etc would be great -but maps helpful! Some kitchen basics would also be helpful ie oil, pepper. But excellent stay. Cosy inside and lovely to sit out when sun out and wind has died down.

Amazing location in the Nantlle Ridge.

Breathtaking as soon as you step out of the door! The Little House had everything we needed and more plus the beds are super comfy. We’ve been to a lot of places and my family all agreed this was the best holiday ever!

Wonderful setting and location.

Lovely layout, very well-appointed inside, loved the garden. Great weather meant we could relax outside on the bench after our walks. Wifi only allows very limited usage - eg only one phone connected at a time. Most frustrating issue was that the back door was padlocked and no key, nor mention of a key anywhere. Being able to open it would have been great. This was also on the fire plan as a fire exit which wasn't great.

We loved the cottage.

The only problem we had was the Internet was very poor and the router actually stopped working during our stay. We think this was due an electrical storm so couldn't be helped. However even when working it was very unreliable. We actually didn't mind though and it was refreshing change, helping to break our phone addiction! The cottage is absolutely delightful, and we kind of fell in love with it! It was very clean, so cosy and really well equipped :). The valley is rugged and striking, it felt very remote and we enjoyed hearing the wind blowing down the chimney. The wood burner on Christmas morning was an added bonus. We weren't sure whether logs were supplied and when we phoned Sykes they said that they thought we may have to bring our own because its not mentioned. However there was a really good supply of well seasoned logs in the house and more outside. All in all a fantastic little place for a base from which to explore especially if you like the idea of isolation!

This was a cosy cottage to use as a base to explore the beautiful countryside (the mountainous landscape is stunning).

No complaints about the lovely cottage except that the listing specifically says that the water is safe to drink. We think that it could more accurately state that the water from one little tap is safe to drink. It was difficult to clean the fire out after lighting it the previous night as there must be a knack to opening the tray. The bed was extremely comfortable and the garden was a plus. We would stay there again.

Tan Meredydd is the prefect little house, set in a beautiful location in the heart of the mountains.

It was really clean and had great facilities, everything had been thought about. It was wonderful to sit and just listen to peace and quiet. We loved that you were able to walk from the door to the mountains, if not on the road a little. We will defo be back.

What a fantastic and well equipped cottage.

My son loved the fact that you can see Mount Snowdon from the garden and looked spectacular with it’s snowy top. This cottage is perfectly located for site seeing, as everything is about a 30 minute drive away. I would definitely recommend Tan Meredydd, and would book again.

Everything was perfect.

The secluded location, the cosy welcoming feeling as soon as you walked through the door. It was a nice little suprise to find we had been left a lovely bottle of wine which is just what you needed after a long journey, sat in front of the fire with the amazing view of the mountains through the window.

The location is quite remote, however if you are looking for a peaceful holiday then this is the place to be.

Great base for serious walkers.

The cottage was very nice, clean and comfortable but the stairs up to the twin bedroom were very narrow and steep, so my son who has slight mobility problems was unable to go up them.

Fortunately, as the bathroom was downstairs, he didn't have to go up them. My husband and I used the twin room and our son had the double bed downstairs. I think you should mention in the information about the cottage that the stairs aren't suitable for people with mobility problems. The location was really good, scenic and quiet.

I booked last minute on the day and Ashleigh in the call centre was great.

The location was perfect and there was nothing needed as everything was stocked and available. Restful and very quiet. If after a remote location to get away from it all but close enough to get into the hills then this is ideal

We had a wonderful week in Snowdonia.

The cottage is extremely well equipped and furnished, and its location is perfect for trips out around Snowdonia and beyond. It is very peaceful and frequented by numerous bird species (if you fill the feeder :) There is a pub called the Cwellyn Arms not far away at Rhyd Ddu, which serves excellent food and beers. We thoroughly recommend this cottage.

Lots of children’s games which my 7 and 9 year old enjoyed on a wet day. Well placed to explore North Wales. My children enjoyed climbing the mountain “in the back garden”! Stone flooring downstairs so would recommend taking slippers or indoor shoes.

Newly refurbed and well thought out layout to make the most of all available space it's a Tardis! Even had a tiny bit of Wi-Fi. A perfect location for getting away from it all and exploring Snowdonia. Highly recommended.
