Why Porthmadog?

Enjoy the great outdoors and take advantage of the breath-taking views that engulf the Snowdonia Mountains. Get those tails wagging and stroll around the many dog-friendly walking routes, make sure you visit the statue of Gelert in Beddgelert.

You can also experience the scenery of Snowdonia via the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway. Dogs are allowed onboard this historic steam train that has a route departing from Porthmadog.

There are a number of dog-friendly beaches in close proximity to Porthmadog. The beach at Black Rock Sands has a wide, open space stretching for 2 miles and backed by grassy dunes, perfect fun for the whole family.
