Bangor is one of the smallest cities in the UK and home to Britain’s oldest cathedral site. Visitors to our Bangor holiday cottages should look to enjoy a holiday in a city on the edge of the Menai Straight and close to Snowdonia.
Why Bangor?
Bangor Cathedral has been a place of worship since the 6th Century. It is the last king of Wales and his two sons, Owain Gwynedd and Cadwaladr are buried there.
Bangor’s sunsets are legendary and there’s some great walking close by. The Bangor circular walk is a gentle 2km walk with extensive views across to Anglesey and Snowdonia.
Bangor, like much of North Wales, is steeped in history. Look out for the beautiful Victorian Pier and Penrhyn Castle, a neo-Norman Victorian Castle just outside the city.
