Why Aberffraw?

Aberffraw is a small village on the beautiful south-west coast of Anglesey, situated between the popular villages of Rhosneigr and Newborough.

Once the ancient royal court of Kings of Gwynedd and an important administrative centre in mediaeval times for the Kings and Princes of Gwynedd, this village oozes history. There is a Bronze Age Burial chamber Trwyn Du and 7th Century sea bound church St Cwyfan's close by to enjoy. There’s also a great tea room called Llys Llewelyn in Aberffraw next to the heritage centre, where you can read all about Aberffraw’s rich history.

The village is also well renowned for the Aberffraw biscuit - a scallop shaped shortbread which is reputed to be the oldest biscuit recipe in Britain.
