Why Cemaes Bay?
Cemaes Bay is the most northerly village in Wales and sits on the rugged north coast of Anglesey.
Visitors to Cemaes Bay holiday cottages can enjoy the fishing harbour, sandy beaches and rocky headlands which are all on the doorstep. The Bay itself is made up of two beaches Traeth Mawr / Traeth Bach - Big / Small beach. Both beaches offer swimming, sand, and rock pools, plenty to keep the kids occupied.
In terms of attractions and activities, Llanbadrig church is well worth a visit for the views alone. Parys Mountain and the Copper Kingdom are just a couple of miles away.
Interesting fact, in the 5th century St Patrick (then a mere bishop), was shipwrecked just off the coast here. He made it ashore at Cemaes Bay and established what is probably the oldest Christian site in Wales (mentioned above), Llanbadrig church. It’s open to visitors in the summer months and boasts some stunning views of the coastline, headland and sea.
